GREENWOOD — Services for Esther Quarles Kinney, 87, widow of William Roy Kinney, will be held at 2 p.m. (visitation 1 p.m.) Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Born in Lincolnton, Ga. to Mr. and Mrs. George Quarles, she died Jan. 16, 2005. Surviving are son, Marshall Kinney; grands, Wanda Witt, Marcia Brock, Susan Kittles, J.J. Moffit; nine great-grandchildren.

Keith Morrow

PELION — Private graveside services for Keith Leonard Morrow born January 13, 2005 and died January 13, 2005 will be held Monday, January 17, 2005 at Southland Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his parents, Roberta Lucia LeFiles and Brian Keith Morrow; brother, Matthew Lee LeFiles; grandparents, Mike and Juanita Miller and Leonard and Linda Morrow.

SUMTER — Services for Robert James “Ferris” Pack, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. (viewing 1 p.m.) Tuesday at St. Mark 4-B Baptist Church with burial in Joshua Baptist Church Cemetery. Job’s Mortuary is in charge. Born in Sumter to Robert and Blanche Pack, he died Jan. 13, 2005. Surviving are wife, Vernessa Harvin McDonald; children, James Pack, Barry Harvin, DaNita Russell; four siblings; four grandchildren; others.

William Patterson Jr.

HOLLY HILL — A memorial service for William Alexander “Bill” Patterson Jr., 71, is 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church, Vance, with private burial. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home. Born in Falling Waters. W.Va. to William and Naomi Patterson, he died Jan. 15, 2005. Surviving are wife, Ann Patterson; daughters, Elizabeth Patterson-Strayer, Patty Thompson; six grandchildren; one sister.

Ila Porter

ROCK HILL — Services for Ila Mae Phillips Porter, 87, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with burial in Grandview Memorial Park. Visitation 5-6:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Born in Lancaster to John and Ellen Phillips, she died Jan. 15, 2005. Surviving: sons, A. Wayne, Ronald Porter; siblings, Max, John Phillips Jr., Lillian Huffstetler, Faye Branham; three grandchildren.

Herbert Railey

CHESTER — Services for Herbert Eugene Railey, 57, are 3 p.m. Tuesday (visitation 6-8 tonight) at Barron Funeral Home with burial in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Chester to Thomas and Eva Railey, he died Jan. 16, 2005. Surviving are wife, Donna Jean Railey; children, Rick Railey, Angie White; stepchildren, Amy Jones, Whit Fleming; grandson, Tyler Fleming; brother, Hennies Ralley; others.

Julia Sellers

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — Services for Julia Mae Stafford Sellers, 91, retired textile employee, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cobb Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens, Cheraw, S.C. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, S.C., is in charge. Born in Cheraw to James and Dora Grant Stafford, she died Jan. 15, 2005. Surviving are nieces; nephews.

Carol Williams

SOCIETY HILL — Services for Nancy Carol Jones Williams, 51, are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Society Hill Presbyterian Church; burial in Harris Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 tonight at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Born in Darlington Co. to Dick and Nancy Jones, she died Jan. 15, 2005. Surviving are daughters, Sandi Brunson, Ashley Holliday; mother; brother, Robert Jones; grandchild, Victoria Holliday; others.

Candis Russell

KERSHAW — Funeral Services for Candis “Candi” Payne Russell, 41, will be held Wednesday, January 19, at 2:00 pm from Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Charles Rabon, Rev. Bryant Fersner, and Rev. Randall Runion will officiate.

“Candi” died Saturday, January 15, after a courageous battle with cystic fibrosis. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Douglas M. Payne and the late Shelby Jean Deese Payne, and was married to Morris L. Russell. She was Medical Lab Technician at Richland Memorial Hospital, Vice President of the Kershaw Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, and a member of the Wednesday Morning Friendship Bible Study Coffee Group. She served as Administrative Assistant to South Carolina House member James M. Neal, District 44, and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of the home, Morris L. Russell, her father and step-mother, Douglas M. Payne, and his wife Judy, a brother, Brian D. Payne, and his wife Nell, of Columbia, 2 nephews, Tyler and Zach Payne, of Columbia, 3 step-sisters, Janet Galuppi, of Westville, Joyce Outen, and Jodie Snipes, both of Kershaw.

Memorials may be made to the Kershaw Second Baptist Church, Building Fund, 7737 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of SC, 1427 Pickens Street, Columbia, S.C. 29201.

The Russell family will receive friends, Tuesday, January 18 from 6 to 8 pm at Baker Funeral Home.

Albert Willard

ORANGEBURG — Services for Albert Grey Willard, 87, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church; burial in Rowan Memorial Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C. Visitation 6-8 tonight at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Born in Winston-Salem, N.C. to Robah and Bessie Willard, he died Jan. 15, 2005. Surviving are wife, Frances Eagle Willard; son, Robert Willard; grandchildren, Matthew, Erica Willard; three sisters.

Nellie Willingham

WHITE ROCK — A celebration of the life of Nellie Frazier Willingham, 83, will be held on Wednesday, January 19 at 3:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia where she has been a member since 1972. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Music Ministry or the Health Ministry programs at Redeemer. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel.

Mrs. Willingham died Sunday morning, January 16, after a lengthy illness. She was born December 9, 1921 in Newberry and was the daughter of Walter and Lucile Frazier.

She married Burton Adams Willingham, after his return from Europe, where he had been held as a prisoner of war for twenty-seven months in Stalag seven.

Mrs. Willingham is survived by her sons, Steven Burton Willingham and his wife, Jane of Plano, TX; Kevin Frazier Willingham and his wife, Donna of Irmo; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and niece, Diane Wilson Davis of Columbia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Mildred Frazier Wilson, and granddaughter, Sara Jane Willingham.

Mattie Goss

LEESVILLE — Mattie Shealy Goss, 91, of Leesville, died Sunday, January 16, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Tom Hart and Rev. Porter O.W. Walters officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Goss was born in Leesville, SC to the late Littleton Patrick Shealy and the late Lula Estelle Snelgrove. She was a member of Living Word Assembly of God Church in Lexington. She was formerly a music teacher and homemaker.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Van Q. Goss of Leesville; daughter, Sylvia G. Stamm of Asheville, NC; sons, Byron Goss of Leesville; Joseph (Joe) Goss of Greenville, TX; Warren Goss of Windsor, NC; Wendell Goss of St. Louis, MO; Dean Goss of Greenwood, SC; 1 stepgrandchild; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by brothesr, Finis D. Shealy and Dayton Shealy; sister, Estelle Shealy.

Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at her residence.

Gladys Weldin

CAMDEN — Memorial services for Gladys “Hap” Lanier Weldin will be held on Friday, January 21, 2005, at 4 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with The Reverend Harry E. Lawhon Jr. officiating. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Diseases and Related Disorders Association, Columbia Chapter, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202. Kornegay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Weldin, widow of Thomas Downham Weldin, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005. Born in Silacoga, AL, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Lanier. Mrs. Weldin was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, an avid golfer, bridge player and volunteer.

Surviving are daughter, Beverly O’Neal of Lugoff; son, Thomas Lanier Weldin of Palm Bay, FL; granddaughter, Ashely Truesdale Watkins; great-grandson, Bryce Hunter Watkins. She was predeceased by brothers, Aubrey, Clarence and Paul Lanier.
