Annette Jenkins

PAGELAND — Annette S. Jenkins, age 92, currently of Rock Hill, SC, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, in Spring Arbor of Rock Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005, at First Baptist Church with burial in First Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after the service in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Jenkins had been an elementary school teacher for 29 years. She was born in Blackstock, SC, and had attended USC-Columbia. She attended First Baptist in Pageland and was an affiliate member First ARP of Rock Hill. She was Past President of WMU, Past President of American Legion Auxiliary, Member of John Blakeney Chapter of D.A.R. She was a daughter of the late James C. and Alice McDaniel Shannon. She was predeceased by husband, W. Archie Jenkins and two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Randy Laney, Rock Hill, SC, Barbara and Chuck Williamson, Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Shannon McCormick, Katie Alice Cox, Susannah Cox; great-grandchildren, Scott McCormick, Will McCormick, Jack McCormick.

Memorials: First Baptist Church, PO Box 126, Pageland, SC 29728 or Hopewell ARP Church, 1341 Hopewell Church Rd., Blackstock, SC 29014.

Willie Howard

SALLEY — Services for Willie Howard, 90, 1:30 p.m.: Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, burial: Christian Hill Cemetery, visitation noon-6 p.m. today at Fulmer’s Funeral Home, Springfield. Born in Aiken Co. to Henry and Rosa Howard, he died Feb. 2, 2005. Surviving: daughters, Catherine Anthony, Sarah Morgan; siblings, Lovilee Tyler, Mattie Stevens, Bernard Howard, Henry Turner; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

Anthony Haun

WILLISTON — Services for Anthony Haun, 21, ar 2 p.m. Sunday at Folk Funeral Home, burial in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Folk Funeral Home. Born in Johnson City, Tenn., to Donald and Genia Richardson, he died Feb. 2, 2005. He worked for Lowe’s in Orangeburg. Surviving: parents; brother, Kevin; grandparents, Pauline and Gary Soulier, Alvin Haun; aunts, uncles, cousins.

Fannie Cooper

LAKE CITY — Services for Fannie Lee Cooper, 92, widow of Gabriel Cooper, 2 p.m. Sunday at The Believers Holiness Conference Center, Coward with burial in Greater St. Paul Methodist Church Cemetery at Vox. Green’s Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Florence Co. to Massey and Elizia Graham Lee, she died Feb. 2, 2005. Surviving: daughter, Mary Cooper; sister, Cornelius Barr; grandchildren; great-grandchildren.

Alice Williams

ESTILL — Services with burial for Alice Williams, 100, are 2 p.m. today at Sandhill Baptist Church, where she was a member. Garvin-Garvin Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Hampton County, she died January 30, 2005. Surviving are her niece, Helen Newton; special niece, Maybelle Gardner; extended family, Deacon Verdell and Annie Aiken; a host of nieces and grandnieces; nephews, cousins and friends.

Fritz Williams

GEORGETOWN — Services for Fritz E. Williams, 83, retired maintenance foreman, are 2 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill Baptist Church, Graham Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Georgetown Co. to Archie Sr. and Leona Wilder Williams, he died Feb. 4, 2005. Surviving: wife, Wanda Williams; children, Eddie Williams, Jennye Adams, Wanda Freer; siblings, Dr. L. Benton Williams, Kathleen Baxley; grandchildren; great-grandchildren.

Peter Flatsoussis

COLUMBIA — Funeral services for Peter Flatsoussis, 80, widower of Lottie Flatsoussis, of Columbia, SC will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family received friends at Greenlawn Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Greenlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Flatsoussis died Friday, February 4, 2005, at a local hospital. Born in Chios, Greece, on November 8, 1924, he was the son of the late Agrious Flatsoussis and Katarina Kartounis. Mr. Flatsoussis owned and operated American Decorating Service, was a Mason, and of the Greek Orthodox Faith.

Surviving Mr. Flatsoussis are his daughter, Debbie O’Donnell and her husband Chuck of Columbia; two sons, Jerry Flatsoussis and his wife Sam of Powder Springs, GA, and Greg Flatsoussis and his wife Nancy, of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, Robert Flatsoussis, Peter Flatsoussis, Jennifer O’Donnell, Catie O’Donnell, Angela Flatsoussis, and Diana Flatsoussis, and one great-grandchild, Roman Flatsoussis.

Mr. Flatsoussis was predeceased by his wife, Lottie, his brother, George Flatsoussis, and his sister-in-law, Sophia Flatsoussis.

Alice Walker

NEWBERRY — Alice Geddings Walker, 62, of 277 Fairway Drive, Newberry, wife of William D. Walker, died Friday, February 04, 2005 at her residence.

Mrs. Walker was born on October 6, 1942, in Clarendon County, a daughter of the late George Geddings and Patunia Hodge Geddings Dubose. She was former owner and operator of Alice’s Cake and Party Supply Company in Sumter and she was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Sumter. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and participating with her husband in Shrine activities and square dancing with the Village Squares in Kinards.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Roger Decker of Sumter, Melissa and J.C. Becker of Woodstock, Ga., Amanda and Scott Carroll of Ft. Hood, TX, and Katrina and Keith Minick of Newberry; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Bonnie and Mike Muecke of Sioux City, IA, Rachelle and Scott Barto of Sgt. Bluff, IA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Susan Jackson and Ronnie and Lillian Jackson, all of Sumter; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, William and Penny Walker of Sail, IA; a sister, Carlotte Howell of Sumter; two brothers, Stanley Dubose and Charles Dubose both of Sumter; sixteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, seven stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandson. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilson Geddings.

Funeral services for Alice G. Walker will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Monday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Interment will be in the Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home and the family will be at the residence, 277 Fairway Drive.

Teresa Moyer

COLUMBIA — Service for Teresa Gail Saxon Moyer, 56, will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at North Trenholm Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Carolina, 2712 Middleburg Drive, Suite 220, Columbia, SC 29204. Visitation will be Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mrs. Moyer died Thursday, February 3, 2005, after a 36 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Nuremburg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Lt. Col. Robert and Marjorie Pearl Flowers Saxon. A 1966 graduate of Dentsville High School, she attended Anderson College. She was formerly employed with Lourie’s and with Northeast Floral Center.

Mrs. Moyer was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, K. David Moyer; son, Chris Moyer of Columbia; brother and sister-in-law, Lt.Col. Robert Larry Saxon and Peggy Saxon, of Tampa, Fla.; nieces, Cindy Ferrera and her husband, Mark, of Lutz, Fla. and Linda Kerr and her husband, Dwight, of Macon, Ga.

Wadell McCrorey

WINNSBORO — Services for Wadell McCrorey: noon today at Bethesda AME Zion Church, burial: Old Gladden Grove AME Zion Church. O.E. Manigault and Sons Funeral Home is in charge. Born to Willie and Carrie McDaniel McCrorey, he died Feb. 2, 2005. Surviving: children, Judith White, Frank Logan; lifelong friend and caregiver, Willa Sims; 2 sisters; half sister; grandsons, uncle, aunt, nieces, nephews.

Otis McAlhany Jr.

BRANCHVILLE — Otis Henry McAlhany, Jr., 82, of Branchville, died Friday, February 4, 2005.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005, in McAlhany Cemetery in Branchville with Rev. Donald R. Royster officiating.

Mr. McAlhany was born in Branchville, a son of the late Otis Henry and Bessie Hill McAlhany. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include two sisters: Edythe Berry, of Branchville, and Miriam Proctor, of Cope; a brother, Adolph McAlhany, of Branchville; a number of nieces and nephews, including his caregivers, Wayne and Darlene McAlhany.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North and other times at the home, 219 Dockside Court, Branchville.

Memorials may be made to the McAlhany Cemetery Fund, c/o Franklin McAlhany, 928 Perkins Road, Branchville, SC 29432.

Oscar Maddox

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE — Oscar Calvin Maddox, 88, died Friday, February 4, 2005 at Saluda Nursing Center. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2005, in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Abbeville, SC with Rev. Rick Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. There will be a short viewing at the gravesite from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Mr. Maddox, formerly of Calhoun Falls, S.C., was born June 5, 1916, in Greenwood, S.C. He was the son of the late Hattie and Oscar Furlow Maddox, and the beloved husband of the late Ruby J. Maddox. A World War II veteran, he retired from Burlington Industries in Calhoun Falls, S.C. Mr. Maddox was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Surviving are his two daughters, Shirley Hilley and husband, Danny of Jacksonville, FL; and Bunny Fellows and husband, Tom of Batesburg, SC; one sister, Grace Thompson of Calhoun Falls, SC; two granddaughters, Rene Smith and husband, Wayne; and Tami Cockrell; three great-grandsons, Justin Smith and wife, Leslie, Derek Smith and Cody Cockrell; preceded in death by two grandsons, Keith Hilley and Darren Fellows.

The family will be at the residence of Tom and Bunny Fellows in Batesburg, S.C.
