AIKEN – Mrs. Lois Elinor Drmolka Lusty, 89, of Aiken, died Saturday, August 13, 2005 in the Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be private.

Mrs. Lusty was born in Milwaukee, WI to the late Frederick and Lillian Drmolka. She moved to Aiken from Orangeburg, SC in 2000. While in Orangeburg, she was a teacher, and along with her late husband, Arthur Jerald Lusty, Jr., she helped establish the Orangeburg Arts Center. Because of their efforts, the two of them were named the Art Citizens of the Year in SC in 1985.

Mrs. Lusty is survived by her daughter Mary L. Chapman, Aiken; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Orangeburg Arts Center, 649 Riverside Drive, Orangeburg, SC 29115.

AIKEN – Mrs. Betty Jean Jones Marino, 79, of Aiken, SC died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Hayne Ave. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate.

Mrs. Marino was born in Miami, FL to the late William Theodore and Lila Burton Jones. She moved to and was a lifelong resident of Aiken, where she worked in the restaurant business and was a member of Shaw’s Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Albert Marino; a daughter, Sandy Ross, Melbourne, FL; a son, Alan Zimmerman, Villages of Florida; a step son, Mark Marino, Long Island, NY; and a granddaughter, Venessa Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Joe Harden, Tim Kerrigan, Chris Harden, Bill Crosby, Tim Harden and Alan Zimmerman.

Memorials may be directed to Shaw’s Fork Baptist Church, 1185 Shaw’s Fork Road, Aiken, SC 29805.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.

AIKEN, SC – MRS. MAE CRAWFORD WOODWARD, 89, of Rutledge Rd., widow of Clyde LaFayette Woodward, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A native of McCormick, SC, Mrs. Woodward was a daughter of the late Joseph Wiley and Viola Bodie Crawford. She had lived in Aiken for most of her life and retired after 25 years as bookkeeper for Help, Inc.. She was a very active member of Aiken’s First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte W. Myatt, Atlanta, GA and LaFaye W. Kitchings, Aiken, seven grandchildren, Edward Garvin, Shelia Wolfe, Steven Myatt, Kim Croney, Michelle Scott, Christopher Kitchings and Melanie Kitchings, and six great-grandchildren, Chad Dial, Maggie Croney, Lauren Scott, Julie Scott, Alex Myatt and Ansley Kitchings.

Mrs. Woodward was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Edward Kitchings, a step-aughter, Patsy G. Hudson, and five brothers, James, John, Harold, Bob and Gene Crawford.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Reverend Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating. Interment will follow in Montmorinci First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Crawford, Clifford Crawford, Johnny Crawford, Wiley Kitchings, Frank Kitchings and Johnny Kitchings. Honorary pallbearers will be William Besson, MD, Heath Bradham, Clifton Weeks, Will Everett Sommer, Ed Jones and Billy Gainey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

On August 16, 2005 at 2:38pm, God stepped out on the banister of Heaven and gave order to His Angels to usher His faithful and loving servant, Reverend Alfred Adams Lorick through the pearly Gates of Glory to his new mansion. Heaven became sweeter as Reverend Lorick changed his address and adorned a new body. Reverend Lorick had faithfully served the Lord, ministering and preaching the Gospel for 56 years. He pastored churches in South Carolina, Arizona, North Carolina, Oklahoma City, and North Louisiana. He was born July 26, 1923 in Batesburg, South Carolina to Mr and Mrs. Ernest Lorick.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 from 7pm until 9pm at Shellhouse Funeral Home in Aiken, S.C. Funeral services for Reverend Lorick will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 3pm at Grace Baptist Church in Langley, S.C. Officiating with be Rev. Nathan Lorick, assisted by Rev. Robert Mitchum. Interment will follow in the Central Baptist Church Cemetery, Aiken.

He leaves to celebrate his life and grieve his absence from this world, his sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Mrs. Annis Seigler Lorick, his children; Nancy D. Beasley, John M. Lorick and wife, Maria, and Kathy D. Lorick. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Scott Beasley, Brian Beasley and wife Nicole, Chase Beasley, Michelle Dauzat and husband Wayne, Jennifer Carey and husband Ed, Nathan Lorick and wife Jenna, Brittany Lorick and Savannah Lorick. In addition he is survived by 2 step-grandchildren Holley Kilgore and Cody Evans. He was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Riley Dauzat, Emma Dauzat, Ethan Carey and Kaden Lorick and step-great-grandson, Braden Kilgore. Mr. Lorick was pre-deceased by 1 son, Everett Lorick.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Beasley, Bobby Cockrell, Russell Cockrell, Fairy Trotter, Sandy Wheeler and Marti Matthews.

Honorary Pallbearers include Eddie Seigler, Larry Key, Melvin Seigler, L.C. Padgett, Wynn Seigler and Broadus Seigler.

Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at First Presbyterian Church. Reverend Dr. David Cozad and Reverend Martha Ebel will officiate. Interment will be private in Bethany Cemetery.

Mrs. French was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Jessie and Alice Clayton Lippincott. She moved to Aiken in 1952, and became a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, the Coalition for Abused Persons, Hitchcock Rehabilitation, Guardian Ad Litum, Academy for Lifelong Learning and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. French.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Norris, Andover, NH; three sons, Kenneth W. French, Jr., Siloam Springs, AR, Michael French, Savannah, GA and Thomas French, Aiken; ten grandchildren, Toby Norris, Josh Norris, Shanda Holm, Jessie French, Eric French, Brian French, Charlotte French, Clayton French, Jeff French and Amy French; and eight great grandchildren.

A native of Waterford, NY, he was a son of the late Lloyd Francis and Myrtle Sandercox Bull. He was an army veteran from the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bull was a retired heavy equipment operator. Survivors include eight children, Gerald F. Bull, Jr., Lisa Woolf, Larrilee Bowman, Gina Raymer, Shirley Stacy, Raymond Bull, Randy Bull and little Jerry Bull. Survivors also include five sisters, one brother, sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three bothers, Raymond, Warren and Bobby Bull and a sister, Margie Roberts. Memorials may be made to a favorite veterans organization. Helen was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, a member of Chapter S, P.E.O. and King's Daughters of Norfolk, VA. She was a member of the Woodside Country Club..
She is survived by two nieces, Betty Trimpe of Union, Ky and Suzanne Day of Erlanger, Ky and several great nieces and nephews.

Miss Smith was born in Concord, GA to the late Charles Richter and Margaret Burckhardt Smith. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO, and was a graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill. A resident of Aiken for the last 22 years, she worked for C & S Bank as a financial consultant and travel agent, was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church where she was a Folder, a member of the Home Garden Committee and on the Cemetery Committee. She was also a member of the DAR, and a volunteer for the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary.

The family would like to thank the Stephens Ministry Program at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church and the Meals on Wheels visitors for their kindness.

Survivors include two nieces, Peggy Van Moss, Trenton and Vicky Vann Meyer, Aiken; six nephews, Lawrence William Vann, Jr., Trenton, Richter Stephens Vann, Trenton, Charles Richter Smith, Baltimore, MD, Turner Burckhardt Smith, Baltimore, MD, Philip Baldwin Smith, Griffin, GA and Thomas Gerry Smith, Darien, GA; a sister in law, Peggy Jones Smith, Griffin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Smith Vann, and her brother, Charles Richter Smith.

Ms. Powell was born in Lexington County, SC to the late Felton and Katie Rebecca Courtney Enlow. She had lived in Aiken her entire life, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Ann (Jim) Boyd, Aiken; her son, John Felton (Alisha) Perara, Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three qqaaasisters, Donia Card, Port Richey, FL, Jackie Lowe, Aiken, and Becky Ferguson, Aiken.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Al Courtney and Felton Enlow.
