WINNSBORO — Services for Mrs. Katherine Gatson Robinson, of 10038 Monticello Road, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at County Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Palmer Memorial Chapel is in charge.
Mrs. Robinson died Monday, February 28, 2005. Born in Winnsboro, she was the daughter of Mrs. Florence A. Gatson and the late Isiah Gatson, Sr. She was a member of County Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband; her mother of Winnsboro; sisters, Ella (Claurde) Robinson and Viola Gatson; brothers, Amos (Delores), Isiah, Jr. (Annette) and Odell Gatson.
Mary Ferrell
SUMTER — Services for Mary Huggins Ferrell, 91, widow of Sam Ferrell, are 2 p.m. Saturday (viewing 1 p.m.) at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Burial: St. Mark Baptist Churchyard, Silver. Job’s Mortuary is in charge. Born in Silver to Mose and Mary Belson Huggins, she died March 1, 2005. Viola Burke
CAMDEN — Funeral services for Viola Crain Burke, 81, will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. George Cashwell, Rev. Jack Crain, and Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Mrs. Burke died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. Born in Rutherfordton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Leathie Mae Arrowood Crain. He had retired from Kershaw County Medical Center as a switchboard operator and was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. Rudorph Burke; daughters, Trisha Powell and her husband, Don, of Columbia, Drusilla Cutler and her husband, Michael, of Lugoff, Rudene Hutto and her husband, Curtis, of Camden and Maude Davis and her husband, Danny, of Greer; grandchildren, Tammy Watson, Teresa Powers, Michael Weatherford, Shaun Cutler, Lee Cutler, Brent Hutto and Jason Hutto; five stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Inez Baker of Augusta, Ga. She was predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.

Billy James
GREENWOOD — Billy Louis James, 59, resident of 110 Biltmore Street and a former resident of Irmo, died March 1, 2005, at his home.
He was employed by South Carolina Electric & Gas Co., McMeekin Station in Lexington and was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church in Greenwood.
Survivors include his mother, Mittie Sue Hanley James of the home; a son, Bradford Louis James of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Denise James Smith of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Blyth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Visitation was 5-7 Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Ms. Martin died Tuesday, March 1, 2005. Born in Florence, S.C., she was a daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth Pressly Martin. She was a graduate of Florida State University and was a librarian in the Georgia school system. She was involved with the Darlington County Mental Health Association for many years.
Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, J. Harrison and Linda Martin, Jr. of Hartsville, S.C.; nephews and spouses, John H. and Susan Marti, III, Scott Allan and Pam Martin, Bryan R. and Stacy Martin; niece and spouse, Lori J. and Craig Morris; great-nieces, Amanda Martin, Ellen Martin, Taylor Morris, Candace Morris; great-nephew, Pressly Martin; goddaughter, Marjory Walker.

Bobby Kirkland
SALUDA — Bobby Dean Kirkland, 43, of 466 Pine Grove Road, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at his home.
A native of Saluda County, he was formally employed at Savannah River Site. He was a member of Asbestos Workers Local #92 and served in the South Carolina National Guard.
Surviving is his father, James Hue Kirkland of Saluda, mother, Annie Lewis Quattlebaum Kirkland of Saluda, two sons, Richard Dean Kirkland of Ninety Six and Anthony Scott Kirkland of Joanna, three brothers and sister in-law, Jimmy and Sherry Rodgers Kirkland, David Kirkland and Charles Kirkland, all of Saluda, a sister, Caroline Kirkland of Saluda, grandmother, Annie Ruth Kirkland of Saluda, three nephews, Jamie Kirkland, Robbie Kirkland and Keith Kirkland and a niece, Crystal Kirkland.
A brother, Keith Kirkland, preceded Mr. Kirkland in death.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Preston Foxworth officiating. Interment will follow in Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery.
