Milton Grady Bishop

GREENVILLE — Milton Grady Bishop, 78, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Grover Franklin Sr. and Ruby Trammell Bishop. Mr. Bishop was a retired building contractor and a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, teacher of the Men’s Bible Class and a former Deacon.

Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Emma Lee Westmoreland Bishop of the home; son: Milton M. Bishop of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Rick Hardy of Greer; brother: Joseph G. Bishop of Travelers Rest; 4 sisters: Mary Willis of Columbia, Camelle Batson and husband, Ford of Jackson, Mildred Jones and husband, Hoyle of Greenville and Jennette Dodson and husband, C.L. of Marietta, GA and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Bishop of Greenville.

He was predeceased by a brother, Grover F. Bishop, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, William Clinton Bishop and Beatrice Bishop and a brother-in-law, Truett Willis.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial at Locust Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

The family will be at the home.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Rd., Greenville, SC 29617 or Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd. Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301-9957.

The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.

Donnie Caulder

WEST COLUMBIA — Graveside service for Mr. Donnie Caulder, 75, of West Columbia, will be held Noon Monday, April 11, 2005, in Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC with The Reverend S. DeWitt Atkerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o’clock Sunday evening in Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans National Service Foundation, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.

Mr. Caulder died Thursday, April 07, 2005. Born in Dillon, SC, he was a son of the late Henry and Annie Taylor Caulder. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army for seven years. Mr. Caulder received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals. He retired from Hobart Corporation and was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church in Marion, SC.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nellie S. Caulder of West Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah C. and Eugene Brown of Lugoff; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Wayne and Brenda Caulder of Columbia; one grandson, Scott M. Brown and two granddaughters, Kimberly and Kayla Caulder; one great-granddaughter, Kristi Brown; a sister, Eva Dean Davis of Dillon, SC; and a brother, Floyd F. Sweat of Hope Mills, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Caulder was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Williamson and Christine Cook.

Robert Thomas Bone Sr.

WEST COLUMBIA — Funeral services for Mr. Robert Thomas Bone, Sr., 86, of West Columbia, SC will be held 1 p.m. Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1330 Whippor Will Drive, West Columbia, SC with Bishop Edward Coats, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Mr. Bone died Friday, April 8, 2005. Born in McColl, SC he was the son of the late Robert Dozier Bone and Alberta Marsh Bone. He retired from Edisto Dairy after 21 years of dedicated service and he also was a veteran of the US Navy in which he served during World War II. Mr. Bone was a member of Civitan International.

Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 65 yeas, Claire Woodward Bone; daughters, Carolyne B. Carter and her husband, James of Lexington, SC, Julie B. Strasburger and her husband, Frank of Columbia, SC, and Bonnie B. Rossiter and her husband, Robert J. “B.J.” of Lexington, SC; sons, Tommy Bone and his wife, Glenda and Keith W. Bone, both of West Columbia, SC; sisters, Barbara Carroll and her husband, Lester of Gaston, SC and Frances Butts and her husband, Jerry of Oregon; a brother, James Alton Bone and his wife, Dini of Irmo, SC; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mary Dominick

PROSPERITY — Services for Mary Lee Whitman Dominick will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Mrs. Dominick, 93, widow of Gary L. Dominick, died April 8, 2005. Born in Prosperity, she was a daughter of John H. and Ludie Taylor Whitman. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.

Surviving are sons, Gary Wilford (Betty) Dominick of Prosperity and Voight W. (Martha) Dominick of Newberry; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Lois D. Cole

COLUMBIA — Services for Lois Doretha Cole, 93, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Pastor Stephen Chitty. Burial will follow at Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Christian Life Assembly, 2700 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210.

Mrs. Cole, widow of Leslie Cole, died Friday, April 8, 2005. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Jack Covington and Bertie Goodale Guiant. Mrs. Cole was a member of Christian Life Assembly.

Surviving are her cousin and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Rufus E. Medlin of Alpharetta, GA.

Mrs. Cole was predeceased by a cousin, Waldo R. Medlin.

Azalee Gibbs

BENNETTSVILLE — Services for Mrs. Azalee Joye Gibbs, 78, will be held at 3 pm Monday at the First United Methodist Church with burial in McCall Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 456, or Helping Hands Hospice, PO Box 474, Bennettsville, SC 29512. Visitation is 7-8 pm Sunday at Whitner-Evans Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gibbs died Saturday. Born in Williamsburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Walter M. and Cleo Nexen Joye. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are: her husband, Robert Houston Gibbs, of Bennettsville; daughters, Sandra Gibbs Clarke, (Warren), of Peach Tree City, GA, Pamela Gibbs Furman, (William), of Summerville; a son, Robert Michael Gibbs, (Sue), of Gibson, NC; a brother, Woodrow Joye, of Myrtle Beach; sisters-in-law, Katie Mae Joye, of Greensboro, NC and Vernie Joye, of Gibson, and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Joye Nicholson and brothers, Lamar Joye, Melvyn Joye, Fred Joye, and Benton Joye.

Samuel “Joey” Moss Jr.

SIMPSONVILLE — Samuel Joseph “Joey” Moss Jr., 23, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of Swannanoa, N.C. died, Thursday, April 7, 2005.

A native of Buncombe County, N.C., he was a son of Samuel Joseph Moss Sr. and wife, Amanda of Pomaria, S.C. and Tamora “Tammy” Burgess Sweet and husband, Bruce of Simpsonville, S.C.

Surviving in addition to his parents and step parents are; a sister, Lela Serena Moss of Greenville, S.C; two step sisters, Lacie and Shannon Sweet, both of Greenville, S.C.; his grandparents, Edgar and Ruthie Taylor of Pomaria, S.C.

Services will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday at the Swannanoa, N.C. Chapel of Penland & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Dale Adair will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 P.M. at Skyview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Sunday following the services.

Florence E. Morgan

FLORENCE — Florence Edwards Morgan, 87, died April 6, 2005, at her home on 1062 Beverly Drive in Florence, S.C. She was the widow of Ernest Forbis Morgan and the daughter of the late Rev. George Emory Edwards and Julia Moore Edwards. She was born in Charleston, S.C., and attended Columbia College. She was a resident of Florence for almost 40 years and was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by three daughters, Linda Gremillion and Debbie (Dave) Brown of Florence and Julie (Grady) Culbertson of Fairfax Station, Virginia. She was predeceased by three sisters, Sara Dillon, Julia Moore Stoudemire, and Becky Whiteman and is survived by eight grandchildren, Mandy (Adam) Hayes, Kate Culbertson, Jennie Culbertson, Lee Gremillion, Paul Gremillion, Tommy (Geovanna) Gremillion, Hastings Galloway and Maggie Brown, and two great-grandchildren, Emory and Briggs Hayes.

Funeral services will be directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, at Central United Methodist Church with a private burial following in the Old Scots Cemetery in Bethune, S.C.

Memorials may be made to the Outreach Program at Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 87, Florence, SC 29503 or the charity of your choice.

James E. “Jimmy” Sharpe

CHAPIN — Services, with military rites, for James Edmund “Jimmy” Sharpe, 56, of Chapin, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2005 in Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, officiated by Father James Fraser Lyon, IV. Burial will follow at Pleasant Pines Independent Baptist Church Cemetery in Gaston. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Memorials may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, Attn: Donations, 12 Kent Way, Suite 101, Byfield, MA 01922 or Tri-County Hospice, 111 Executive Pointe Blvd., Columbia, SC 29210.

Mr. Sharpe died Wednesday, April 6, 2005. Born in Columbia, he is the son of Barbara R. Sharpe of Gaston and the late Muller Drue Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and was retired from Carolina Eastman, where he was the T.P.A. Operator.

Surviving, along with his mother, are his wife, Brenda B. Sharpe of Chapin; daughter, Meagan D. Sharpe of the home; son, Brandon T. Sharpe, with the US Navy stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii; sisters, Victoria S. Allen of Gaston, Teresa S. Seibert , Alice S. Douglas, both of Prosperity; brothers, Robert Drue Sharpe of Cayce, Christopher John Sharpe, William David Sharpe, both of Gaston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patsy Ramage

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Patsy Huggins Ramage, 80, of Savannah, died Thursday at her residence, under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc.

She was born in Horry County, S.C., and was a member of the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Ramage, Sr., her brother, Rupert Huggins, and 2 sisters, Audrey Smith and Aleene Skipper.

She is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law, Dr. James Everett & Patricia Ramage, and John P. & Angela Ramage, all of Savannah, Ga; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bruce Johnson and Mrs. Lois Fields, 4 grandchildren, Mollie Aleene Ramage, Maxwell James Ramage, Spencer Leland Ramage, and Taylor Patrick Ramage, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, with Dr. Frank Parr, officiating. Mrs. Ramage will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Monday to lie in state.

Burial: Private
