SOCIETY HILL — Mr. Lewis Richardson, 60, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005. Graveside service is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005, in Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, N.C. Visitation is Thursday, April 14, 2005, 6-8 p.m. at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, S.C. Mr. Richardson was born in Baywood, Virginia, a son of the late Robert Eltie and Bessie Truitt Richardson. He was a graduate of St. John’s High School and was a cattle farmer and great outdoorsman.

Survivors: wife, Linda Eddins Richardson of the home; brother, Ralph (Elaine) Richardson of Society Hill, S.C.; sister, Shirley (Mike) King of Peachtree City, Ga.; a number of nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Ryan Richardson. Memorials may be made to Brocks Mill Fire Department, 3173 Zoar Road, Cheraw, SC 29520. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home is serving the Richardson family.

Gertie Stewart

CAYCE — Services for Mrs. Gertie Sanders Stewart, of 1612 Abbott Road, will be held 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, with entombment in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is 6 p.m. today at Palmer Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Stewart died Monday, April 11, 2005. Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Alafair Frazier Sanders. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Sumter, S.C., and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Morris College. She was employed with Sumter and Clarendon County School Districts. She was a member and spiritual counselor in the Counseling Center at First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence Stewart, Jr.; daughters, Reenea Rosheene Harrison, Ph.D. and Clanitra Latrell Stewart, Esq., all of Cayce; brothers, Lafayeet Sanders, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Iree Sanders; and sister, Amelia Sanders Franklin, Sumter, S.C.

Albert Harrell Stieglitz Jr.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Albert Harrell Stieglitz, Jr., of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, April 11, 2005, at his residence. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late Albert Harrell Stieglitz, Sr. and the late Lena Mae Milling Stieglitz, he attended the University of Georgia where he played football. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a catcher for the San Francisco Giants. Al was honored to be named the 1960 Rookie of the Year. Al loved life, and never met a stranger. He was a loving and kind individual, and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Al is survived by his children, Jeffrey Allen Stieglitz of Atlantic Beach, Florida; Karen “Kiki” Stieglitz Frame of Ponte Vedra, Florida; Kelli Stieglitz Anderson and husband Doug of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren, Chad Stieglitz, Bobby Frame, III, Megan Frame, Michael Frame, Allan Frame, Allison Anderson, and Ashley Anderson; sister, Doris Stieglitz Ward of Columbia, South Carolina; niece, Robin Crawford Osborne and husband Billy of Lexington, South Carolina; nephew, Mark Keith Crawford of Columbia, South Carolina; special friend, Mary O’Donnell, of St. Augustine, Florida.

Services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2005, at 7 p.m. at St. Andrews Lutheran Church by the Sea with a reception following at Jacksonville Beach Golf Clubhouse, where Al worked and made many friends. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 22, 2005, at noon in Elmwood Cemetery Columbia, South Carolina.

Memorials may be made to Epworth Children’s Home, Columbia, South Carolina.

F. Stacey Webb

EVANS, Ga. — Mr. Stacey Webb entered into rest Tuesday April 12, 2005. He was born April 26, 1942, in Augusta, Ga., the husband of Anna Moseley Webb and the son of Lucille Gutierrez Webb and the late Henry C. Webb, Sr. of Augusta, Ga.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at The Church of the Good Shepherd with The Very Reverend Robert Fain officiating.

Stacey was a dedicated and loving husband and father who loved spending time with his seven grandchildren. He had a tremendous faith in God and inspired those around him. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. His love of God and his family carried him to the end. He was a caring, thoughtful, understanding, considerate person with a good sense of humor. All these qualities and his abundant people skills contributed to his success in his career and provided a rock solid foundation for his family, friends and career associates--leaving all with a fortune of cherished memories.

After attending Augusta College, Stacey began a 47-year career in banking, technology, and management with Georgia Railroad Bank, South Carolina National Bank, FiServ, and Intercept. His expertise included programming, technical support, management - sales and marketing in the financial and data processing industry. The most enjoyable challenge in his career was the opportunity to work with the people and clients in his territory.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Carol Webb of Tucker, GA, and Jennifer Maddux and husband Brent of Cumming, GA; two sons, Michael Webb and wife Kathy of Augusta, GA, and R. Boyd Webb and wife Ginny of West Columbia, SC; one brother, Henry C. Webb, Jr. and wife Faye of Chapin, SC; one sister, Lynda Webb of Augusta, GA; and seven grandchildren, Taylor Webb, Madison Carpenter, Seth Carpenter, Mackenzie Webb, Grace Webb, Lauren Maddux, and R. Boyd Webb, Jr.

William B. Stockman

TOOKIEDOO — Funeral service for Mr. William B. “Daddy Bill” Stockman, 83, of Tookiedoo, will be held 4 o’clock today, April 14, 2005, at Harmony Baptist Church, officiated by The Reverend Chris Smith and The Reverend Tommie Williams. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 998 Tookiedoo Lane, Elgin, SC 29045. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Reverend Tommie Williams, C.W. Trapp, Murdic Branham, Charles Branham, Gerald Goff, Danny Holt, Glenn Hinson, Bobby Peake, Jason Kelly, Robbie Stockman, Herbert Cooper, Alfred Crumpton, Kenny Mattox and Deacons of Harmony Baptist Church. Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Stockman, Leon Stockman, Lewis Stockman, Wiley Stockman, John Stockman and Bob Fryer. Shives Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stockman passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2005, peacefully at his home in Tookiedoo. Daddy Bill was born in Tookiedoo on August 13, 1921. He was the son of the late Ira C. and Edna P. Stockman. He was a life long member and deacon at Harmony Baptist Church and was a land donor to the church he loved. Daddy Bill was deeply loved by his family and friends of whom there were many. His greatest joys in life were his family, friends and the sharing of his worldly goods with them. Daddy Bill was a child of the King and he is looking forward to being joined by his family around the throne. We praise and thank God for his wonderful life.

Survivors include his faithful wife of 61 years, Frances Mattox Stockman; his children and spouses, Gail S. and Gene Peake, Josie S. and Furman Peake; grandsons and spouses, Chris and Jo Carol Peake, Tracy and Kate Peake and Josh Peake; great-granddaughters, Jessica, Mandie, Kaytie and Alex Peake; and a brother, Clint (Jessie) Stockman. Mr. Stockman was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Dowey and brothers, Earl, Everett, J.P. and John L. Stockman.

Calvin Jeffrey Dillon

SUMTER — Calvin Jeffrey Dillon, 58, of 9 S. Main St., Sumter, died April 8, 2005, in Tuomey Healthcare System, Sumter. He was born in Sumter to retired Major Oliver Maxwell Dillon, Sr. and Rosezella Jackson Dillon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Emanuel United Methodist Church with burial in Hillside Memorial Park, both in Sumter.

Surviving are his parents of Sumter; one son, Mark Anthony Dillon, Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Oliver Dillon, Jr., El Paso, TX; two sisters, Jean D. Williams, Sumter, and Lynette (Lundees) Washington , Columbia, S.C.

The family will receive friends at 6 Belton Ct., Sumter.

Samuels Funeral Home, LLC, Manning, S.C., is in charge of the arrangements.

Louie Hydrick

RIDGEWAY — A memorial service for Staff Sgt. Louie G. Hydrick, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ridgeway Ward, conducted by Bishop Blake Alder. Inurnment will follow in the Centerville Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Hydrick at 188 Phoenix Drive, Ridgeway.

Sgt. Hydrick, 69, did Monday, April 12, 2005. Born November 3, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., he was the son of the late Louie and Anna Caldwell Hydrick. He had retired from the United States Air Force and the State of South Carolina, after twenty years respectively.

Surviving are his wife, Jimmie Sue Hydrick of the home; sons, Michael and Randy Hydrick of Arizona; a daughter, Nikki Timberlake of Chicago, Ill, and stepchildren, Roy Neel of Ridgeway, Marshall Barrentine of Marrianna, Fla., Deborah Fontaine of Lexington, S.C., Rhonda Harrell of Redbank, S.C., and Regina Nickison of Florida; brothers, Jack and Ronnie Hydrick of Charleston, S.C. Also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hydrick was predeceased by a brother, Tommie Hydrick and a stepson, William Neel. Pope Funeral Home of Winnsboro is assisting the Hydrick family.

Noel Pickens-Jordan

WEST COLUMBIA — Memorial services for Noel Elizabeth Pickens-Jordan, 59, will be held 4:30 p.m. Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church with Father Philip Whitehead officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. Barr-Price Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Place, 234 Kings Mtn. St., York, SC 29745 or the Nurturing Center, 1332 Pickens St., Columbia, SC 29201.

Born in Baltimore, ND, a daughter of Elizabeth Cormany Pickens and the late Major Robert G. Pickens. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and was an LPN.

Surviving are a daughter, Katy Jordan of the home; her mother of West Columbia; brothers and sisters-in-law, William C. Pickens (Lisa) of Greer and Robert G. Pickens (Kris) of Chapin. She was predeceased by her father, a sister, Katy Pickens Vignati, grandparents, Helen and Bill Cormany and W.A. and Ruth Gist Pickens.

The family would like to thank Dr. Leland McElveen and staff at S.C. Oncology for their kindness and care as well as the 8th Floor staff Avery T at Palmetto Baptist.

Herman Rabon

LUGOFF — Funeral services for Herman R. “Randy” Rabon, 63, will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Springvale Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Todd Horton and Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home Lugoff Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of S.C., 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201.

Mr. Rabon died Wednesday, April 13, 2005. Born in Lugoff, he was the son of Martha Gladden Rabon and the late Herman S. Rabon. He had retired from the DuPont Company and had retired as the owner and operator of Randy’s Hauling. Mr. Rabon was a member of Springvale Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a talented carpenter and farmer.

Surviving are his mother; daughters, Donna Rabon and her husband, Wayne, of Cassatt, and Wanda Rabon Welch and her husband, Ernie, of Sumter; grandchildren, Jacob Thompson, Josh Watts and Jessica Watts; sister, Cheryl Dickert of Camden; brothers, James W. Rabon of Camden and Harold L. Rabon of Lugoff.

William Thurman Ray

SPARTANBURG — William Thurman “W.T.” Ray, 87, of 125 Granger Road, Spartanburg, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Ray was born February 5, 1918, in Fairmont, South Carolina, the son of the late Andrew Jackson Ray and Maggie Brown Ray and the husband of Mildred Braziel Ray. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Junior College and a World War II Army veteran, having served in the capacity as a Military Police Officer in the Philippines. He retired in 1977 as a Special Investigator with the United States Division of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and served post duty in Spartanburg, Columbia, Charleston, Rock Hill and Florence, and was a former Area Supervisor in southeast South Carolina. Mr. Ray was a member of West Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra R. McCray of Florence; three sons, Chuck and his wife Maureen Ray of Boiling Springs, Dr. Max Douglas Ray of West Covina, California, Larry Allen and his wife Elaine Ray of Sanford, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Roxanna Ray, Larraine Angel, Andrew Ray, Misty Mason, Nick Ray, Allen Ray and Beau McCray; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Eddie Burris officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 1700 John B. White Boulevard, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

The family is at the residence.

Debra Scarborough

BISHOPVILLE — Services for Debra Gale McDonald Scarborough, 40, are 2 p.m. Friday (1 p.m. viewing) at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Wisacky. Burial in St. Paul Cemetery. Job’s Mortuary, Sumter, is in charge. Born in Darlington to Leroy and Dorothy Mae Wilson McDonald, she died April 11, 2005. Surviving: husband, Bryant; daughters, Teishanna, Keishanna Scarborough; parents; 3 sisters; 3 brothers.
