Helen D. Dennis

COLUMBIA — Service for Helen D. Dennis will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trenholm Road United Methodist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mrs. Dennis, wife of the late Charles W. Dennis, died Thursday, April 21, 2005. Born on April 23, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Arthur W. Davis, Sr. and Eva Freeman Davis. A graduate of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, she worked in that field until retiring in 1954.

An active and devoted member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church, Mrs. Dennis was active in the United Methodist Women, serving twice as president. She was selected by the church as “Woman of the Year” in 1998. She was active in her community and a former member of the Morning Glory Garden Club.

Surviving are daughter, Ellen Craney of Columbia; sisters, Grace Davis and Etta Davis, both of Columbia; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces. She was predeceased by son-in-law, Thomas H. Craney; four brothers; and two sisters.

Sarah Smith

SUMMERTON — Services for Sarah Pauline “Polly” McLeod Smith, widow of Roy Smith, 11 a.m. Saturday (visitation 7-9 tonight): Stephens Funeral Home, Manning. Burial: Summerton Evergreen Cemetery. Born in Sumter to John and Edna Ross McLeod, she died April 21, 2005. Surviving: daughter, Melva Young; granddaughters, Marie Tolson, Jean Phillips, Melodie Young, Cindy Welch; great-grandchildren.

E.B. Sanders Jr.

WALTERBORO — Services for E.B. “Bink” Sanders Jr., the 5th generation male to live at Beech Hill Plantation, WWII veteran, widower of Anne Stephenson Sanders, 11 a.m. Monday: Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Sunday: Parker-Rhoden F.H. Born in Charleston to Edward Sr. and Laura Sams Sanders, he died April 20, 2005. Surviving: sons, Edward III, Miles, Steven; sister, Maner Drake; grandchildren.

JoAnn Miller Williamson

NEESES — JoAnn Miller Williamson, 65, of Neeses, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Double Branch Baptist Church with Rev. David R. Royster officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Williamson was born in Melba, CA, a daughter of the late Cecil and Ruby Grace Langford Miller. She was the former co-owner and operator of the Neeses Gulf and Livingston Food Mart. She was a member of Double Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, R.L. Williamson, of the home; children and spouses: Ronnie and Terri Williamson, of Pine Hill; Rhonda and Bill Jackson, of Lexington; Terry and Theresa Williamson, of Orangeburg; Tammy and J.J. Robinson, of Pelion; two sisters: Mary Ruth Skiffington, and Bobbie Jean Miller, both of CA; eight grandchildren: Rawn Williamson, Lauren Williamson, Scott Robinson, Kelli Williamson, Aaron Robinson, Ryan Williamson, Travis Jackson, and Austin Williamson; one great-grandson: Dillion; special aunt: Opal Oehler, of Las Vegas, NV; and special brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Williamson, of Neeses.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North and other times at the home, 191 Cougar Lane, Neeses.

Memorials may be made to Double Branch Baptist Church, 3567 Neeses Highway, Orangeburg, SC, 29115, or to Hospice of TRMC, P.O. Box 2352, Orangeburg, SC, 29116.

Zula Timmie

BLYTHEWOOD — Funeral service for Mrs. Zula Branham Timmie, 92, of Blythewood, SC, will be held 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, April 23, 2005, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, Ridgeway Ward, Centerville, SC, with Bishop Blake Alder, Bishop William Ferguson and Bishop Heyward Christensen officiating. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Branham, Brian Casey, Michael Casey, Kenny Thompson, Dennis Nelson and Tony Nelson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock this (Friday) evening at Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Fairfield Healthcare, Memorial Fund, 117 Bellfield Road, Ridgeway, SC 29130.

Mrs. Timmie, widow of Bill W. Timmie, died Thursday, April 21, 2005. Born in Blythewood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Branham. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, Ridgeway Ward.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Branham and Mildred Athanosoff; nephews and nieces to include Blake Branham. Mrs. Timmie was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Charles Bose

COLUMBIA — Homegoing Service for Charles E. Bose, will be noon today at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home with burial in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Born in Annistan, Ala., to Shakespear and Mary Bose Jackson, he died April 20, 2005. Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn Bose; daughters, Hurline Borden, Gwen Wilson and Willa Byrd; two brothers; two sisters; two grandchildren.

Capt. Thomas “Eddie” Adeimy

HAMLET, N.C. — Captain Thomas Edward “Eddie” Adeimy, (Ret.), 83, died April 22, 2005. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.

Kaylee Ciara Bunch

SWANSEA — Kaylee Ciara Bunch, age 2 months, of Swansea, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005, in Sturkie Cemetery in Swansea with Rev. Erskine Shivers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North.

Kaylee is the daughter of Jessica Sturkie and Bryan Chesser. She is survived by two sisters, Jasmine and Kacie; maternal grandparents: Sara Sturkie, Jess Sturkie and Jeff Douglas; paternal grandparent: Kitty Graham; maternal great-grandparent: Ruby Nell Sturkie; and paternal great-grandparent: Mary Mattox; and a number of aunts and uncles.

Willette Folk

BARNWELL — Willette Still Folk, 78, died Friday, April 22, 2005, in Orangeburg, S.C.

Born in Barnwell County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Estelle Collins Still. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she was the director of the WMU, played piano and directed the children’s choir for many years. She was the former bookkeeper for Barnwell School District #45.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. John Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at Mole Funeral Home.

Survivors include husband, Ben E. “Doc” Folk of Barnwell; sons, Eric S. Moore of Barnwell and Adam Moore of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; daughter, Zelda Varner of Eutawville, S.C.; sister, Aleese Windham of North Augusta; four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lydia Moore.

Lessie McFadden

LAKE CITY — Services for Lessie Rish McFadden, 88, widow of Frank McFadden, are 4 p.m. Sunday: Oak Grove AMEC, Turbeville. Burial: Old-McFadden Cemetery, directed by Green’s F.H. Born in Clarendon Co. to Jenkins & Bessie McFadden, she died April 19, 2005. Surviving: children, Beverly, Melvin Jr., Ernest Carr, Melva, Deloris Wilson, Janie Truesdale, Linda Gilmore, Patricia, Annie, Alphonzo, Larry McFadden.

Albert Holland Jr.

HARTSVILLE — Visitation for Albert H. Holland, Jr., age 69, who died April 21, will be Saturday 7-9 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home. Albert was born in Darlington County, a son of Pauline Hopkins Holland and the late Albert H. Holland, Sr. He had retired from Sonoco Products Co. after 39 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Club and the Hartsville Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Janice Morrell Holland, Hartsville, his mother of Hartsville; sons, Gillium (Angie) Holland, Hartsville, Jason (Stacey) Holland, McDonough, Ga., two grandchildren, Krysten Holland, Hartsville and Bronlyn Holland, McDonough, Ga. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Lorine Nelson

COLUMBIA — Homegoing Service for Lorine Griffin Nelson, will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home with burial in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Born in Columbia to Rufus and Bertha W.L. Brown, she died April 19, 2005. Surviving are her husband, Joe Nelson; children, John Jr. and James White, Michelle Pyos and Elizabeth Goins; one brother and two sisters; thirteen grandchildren.

Thelma Smith

UNION — Services for Thelma Mae Beard Smith, 83, widow of Roger Smith, 3 p.m. Sunday (1:30 p.m. visitation) at First Baptist Church. Burial: Union Memorial Gardens. S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Florence to George and May Bell Crews Beard, she died April 21, 2005. Surviving: daughters, Peggy Ridgeway, Genie Hightower, Pam Cool, Debby Giesen; grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

Thomas Harris

GREENWOOD — Thomas Christian Harris, 78, resident of 108 Heritage West Court, husband of Tommie McCrorey Harris, died April 21, 2005, at his home.

Born in St. Louis, MO, May 23, 1926, he was a son of the late Floyd Christian and Amelia Boremann Harris. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a graduate of St. Louis University. Mr. Harris had retired as Comptroller, Secretary and Treasurer of Royal Buick in Tampa, FL.

He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are one son, Floyd Christian Harris of Greenwood; one daughter, Margaret H. Edwards of Darlington; a granddaughter, Shelby Harris of the home; a grandson, Mavrick Harris of the home; a granddaughter, Susan Edwards; a grandson, Frank Pat Edwards; one great-grandchild.

Mr. Harris was predeceased by a brother, Floyd Christian Harris Jr.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday from the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection with the Rev. Tim Ervolina officiating.

A private inurnment will be in the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection Columbarium.

The family is at the home on Heritage West Court.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 700 S. Main St., Greenwood, SC 29646.

Blyth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin Randolph Tuten

RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A memorial service for Melvin Randolph Tuten, 74, is 2 p.m. Sunday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, Grays, S.C. Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton, S.C., is in charge. Born to George and Rosalee Tuten, he died April 15, 2005. Surviving: wife, Darlene Tuten; children, David, George Tuten, Laura Murray, Sheryl Ryals; siblings, Lillie Dobson, Wilbur Tuten; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
