Alexander S. Kyzer Sr.

CAYCE — Services for Alexander Shealy Kyzer, Sr., 92, will be held at 4pm Monday, April 25, 2005, in Cayce United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Michael Henderson and Rev. Megan Stone. Burial with military honors will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Cayce United Methodist Church, 1600 12th St., Cayce, SC 29033. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9pm Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia.

Mr. Kyzer, widow of Marjorie Kyzer, died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born in Dixiana, he was a son of the late John Jerome and Cardonia Shealy Kyzer. A lifetime resident, he was a member of Cayce United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Kyzer retired from Palmetto Hardware.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Jean K. Tindal-Phares and William Phares of Irmo; daughter-in-law, Judy Kyzer West Columbia; 4 grandchildren and spouses, Sharon Long, his caretaker, and her husband, Kermit Long, Christopher (Sharon) Tindal, Susan (Paul) Justus and Greg Kyzer; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaiti Long, Allyson Tindal, Tarah and Jordan Justus.

Mr. Kyzer was predeceased by his son, “Zan” Kyzer and a son-in-law, Wayne Tindal.

Bobby Pullum

CAMDEN — Funeral services for Bobby L. Pullum, 67, will be held on day, April 26, 2005 at 11:00 AM in Lakeview Baptist Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Hugh McKinney will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, April 25, from 6:00-8:00 PM in Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Walter M. Cowe Animal Shelter, 460 S. Fair Street, Camden, SC 29020 or Lakeview Baptist Church, 1520 Mill Street, SC 29020.

Mr. Pullum died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born in Old Hickory, TN, he was the son of the late B.L. “Dick” and Louise Davis Pullum. He attended Camden High School and Wingate College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Pullum was a registered representative with the Equitable Life Assurance Society for 40 years. He was a member of Equitable’s Hall of Fame and a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Bobby was past President of The Camden Sertoma Club, former Jaycee, Past Kershaw County Mother’s March Chairman, past Board Member of the Selective Service System.

Surviving are his wife, Penny Anderson Pullum; his son, Robert Anderson Pullum of San Francisco, CA; his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy P. Amyette and Ray of Camden; his brother and sister-in-law, Don P. Pullum and Ruth Anne of Camden; and beloved dog, Rommel.

Active Pallbearers will be Dan Mackey, Dickie Tiller, Louis “Peanut” Truesdale, Dave Ziemke, Rob Thompson and George V. Kornegay, Jr.

Doris Carolyn Rouse

WEST COLUMBIA — A Memorial Service for Doris Carolyn Rouse will be held 11am Monday in the Chapel at Barr-Price Historic B&L Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Gladden officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the daughter’s residence 127 Cedar Cove Tr. in Gilbert and following the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Baptist Health Hospice 1400 Pickens St., Columbia, SC 29201. Barr-Price Funeral Home Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mrs. Rouse died Saturday April 23, 2005. Born in Whiteville, NC she was a local residence since 1990 formerly of Robbins, NC. She was the wife of the late Wilbert Rouse and the daughter of the late Gabriel and Rosa Lee Smith Tompkins.

She is survived by her sons; Bob Barnum and Billy Rouse both of Carthage NC, Joey Rouse of Southern Pines, NC, Jerry Rouse of Asheboro, NC and Jimmy Rouse of Robbins, NC; a daughter, Patricia Joyner of Gilbert; sisters, Lillian Morris of Columbia, Eula Mae Blanton of Conway, Magdolene Jordan of Marion, Rosa Lee McCarty of West Columbia; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Beulah Rose

COLUMBIA — Service for Beulah Binford Bray Rose, 85, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lugoff First Baptist Church Building Fund or North Trenholm Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rose, wife of the late MSG James M. Rose, U.S. Army (Ret), died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born in Campbell County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Grayson Bray. and Frances Smith Bray. She was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church and actively involved with the Joy Club at Lugoff First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society at Wildewood Downs and loved gardening, flowers and travel.

A beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Rose is survived by son and daughter-in-law, James “Jim” Grayson and Rebecca Rose of Lexington; daughter and son-in-law, Kay Rose and John Estes of Great Falls; brothers, Maurice Lee Bray of Butler, Ky. and Wilson Bray and his wife, Shirley, of Alexandria, Ky.; sister, Norma Grace Foster of Morganton, Ga.; son-in-law, Marcus Mann of Lake Wateree; grandchildren, Loris Rushing, Lynn Walden, Marcus Mann III and Caroline Gross; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Rushing. She was predeceased by daughter, Ruth Mann and sister, Evelyn Poe.

Bobby Wickliffe

COLUMBIA — Homegoing Service for Bobby “Bob” Earl Wickliffe, 58 of Columbia, will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday Morning with Full Military Honors at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, Mozell Tompkins Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Florence National Cemetery, Florence, South Carolina.

Mr. Wickliffe died Thursday, April 21, 2005. Born May 18, 1946, in Ferriday, Louisiana, he was the son of Ethel Feltus Wickliffe and the late Johnny Wickliffe.

He retired as a Master SGT after 20 years of service. Bob then became an entrepreneur. He was a co-owner of Thomas and Wickliffe Realtors, Inc.

He was a zealous member of the Living Church of God of Atlanta.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Wickliffe, Jr.

Surviving are his, daughter, Anaya (Desi) Chiles, grandchildren, Ayana and Daven of Columbia; his mother Ethel Wickliffe of Ferriday, Louisiana; sisters, Philas (Richard) Branch of Lompac, CA, Fannie Wickliffe Reese of Ferriday, LA; brothers, Billy Wickliffe (his twin), Jeffrey Wickliffe both of Houston, TX. Bob was formerly married to Ernestine Singleton; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.

Aaron Seiple

COLUMBIA — Service for Aaron Lee Seiple, 18, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Spring Valley Baptist with burial in Greenlawn Serenity Gardens. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jamel McDaniel, Brando Stanfeild, Jared Golden, Jay Grant and Mr. Charles Newton. Memorials may be made to Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, 7 Richland Medical Park, Columbia, S.C. 29201. Visitation will be Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel and also Monday 12-2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Seiple died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Dennis Merrill and Mary Beth Gilpatrick Warnick Seiple. Named “Man of the Year” in 2004 by the Leukemia Society, he was spokesperson for the Leukemia Society and a member of L.I. Cancer Group and a volunteer with Camp Kemo. His lifelong dream was to become a medical doctor.

Mr. Seiple was an avid Gamecock fan and member of AAU Basketball League. He held a third degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and was also a junior instructor.

In his spare time, he worked at MWR Victory Bingo and was involved in the activities of his nieces and nephews. He attended East Columbia Baptist Church.

Surviving are his parents of Columbia; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Heather Warnick of Columbia; sister and brother-in-law, Dani Warnick Tallant and Jeff Tallant of Columbia; sister, Kali Seiple, of the home; paternal grandmother, Barbara Seiple of Columbia; nieces, Shannon and Ashley Warnick, both of Columbia; nephews, Chaz, Ty and Kenzie Tallant; a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Harold Seiple; maternal grandparents, Cleston Wayne and Mary Elizabeth Gilpatrick.

The family expresses a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who extended his life.

Jewell Williams

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Jewell Flaherty Rose Williams, 82, of Columbus, died Friday April 22, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday April 25, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Barn Well, South Carolina with Dr. Brad Hicks officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, at Blainey Baptist Church Cemetery in Elgin, South Carolina.

Mrs. Williams was born December 23, 1922 in Blainey, South Carolina to the late Lawrence Preston Rose and Annie May Flaherty Rose. She taught school for over 40 years and taught ladies bible study, was a member of the homemakers club. Until her illness in 2001 she was an active member of First Baptist Church in Barn Well, South Carolina. She was also a graduate of Coker College in Hartsville, S.C. with a Liberal Arts Degree.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Earl Gordon Williams, Jr.; her parents, and a brother and sister-in-law Lanier and Martha Rose.

She is survived by a daughter, Rose Ann Polk and husband, Jay of Columbus, GA; Grandson, Remington “Remmy” Polk and Thomas Polk, both of Columbus; and a nephew, Lawrence Rose and wife, Clara of Elgin, South Carolina.

Red Zeigler

BAMBERG — Services for John Wesley “Red” Zeigler, 71, will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston with burial in the Blackville Cemetery. Visitation 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at Folk Funeral Home.

Mr. Zeigler died Saturday. Born in Blackville, he was a son of the late Bryan and Eula Driggers Zeigler. A member of the Word of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bamberg and a self-employed truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was first married to the late Maggie Proctor Zeigler.

Survivors include his wife, Willese Arthur Carroll Zeigler; daughters, Margaret Hutson, Betty Jean Mitchell, Rita West, Keisha Banks; son, Johnny Carroll; sisters, Ruby Hutto, Gloria Still, Doris Shirah, Joan Fail; brother, Joe Zeigler; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James “Skip” Williamson and brother, J.B. Zeigler.

Ralph Barrett

HARTSVILLE — Services for Ralph Addison Barrett, 91, will be held at a later date. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Pinehurst, N.C. to Rolin and Lillie Black Barrett, he died April 22, 2005. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are wife, Willa Boze Barrett; son, Stephen Barrett; daughter, Carol Barwick; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Joyce Wilkinson

COLUMBIA — Private memorial services for Mrs. Joyce P. Wilkinson, 72, of Columbia, will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stone Mark Ln., Columbia, SC 29210. Shives Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Wilkinson died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Justine Quinzer Perine. Mrs. Wilkinson as a member of the Columbia Bridge Club and Woodlands Country Club.

She is survived by her husband, John Adams Wilkinson of the home; son, Curtis Wilkinson of Point Pleasant, NJ; daughters, Laura Uliana of Reading, PA, Karen Richardson of Merit Island, FL; five grandchildren.

Wilson Bilton Jr.

SWANSEA — A memorial service for Wilson Whitaker Bilton Jr., 63, widower of Betty Jo Hammond Bilton, is 2 p.m. Monday at Stephens Funeral Home, Manning. Born in Summerton to Wilson Sr. and Mary King Bilton, he died April 22, 2005. Surviving are mother; children, Alan, Charles Cuttino, Bobbie Jo Satcher; siblings, Kenny, Joe, John Bilton, Mary Hodge, Patricia Miller; grandchildren, Allen, Ammie Satcher.

Jessica Bates

GREER — Jessica Marie Bates, 17, of 201 North Miller Street, died April 22, 2005.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter of Michelle Marie Wheeler Martin and Gerald Wayne Martin, she was a junior at Blue Ridge High School where she was the color guard captain for the marching band, a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, a S.C. Junior Scholar and attended Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are three sisters, Britney Bates, Chelsea Bates, Caitlin Bates all of the home.

Maternal grandparents; Glenn and Linda Wheeler of Columbia, and Pamela and Michael Lintner of Greer; paternal grandparents, Gerald Martin and Deborah Martin of Orangeburg, SC; maternal great-grandparents, Estil and Barbara Wheeler of Standish, Michigan, Roy and Nancy Tripp of Texas , and Dolores and Lowell Scott of Sparta, Michigan; paternal great-grandparents; Margie Fields and Robert Fields of Cordova, SC.; one step-brother, Christopher Bates, a step-sister, Ashley Bates both of Hemby Bridge, NC; aunt and uncle, Glen and Jennifer Wheeler of Greer, two cousins, Hunter and Madison Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Monday at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Meaders. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Honorary escort will be the Blue Ridge High School Color Guard and Drum Line.

Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Sunday at Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the residence.
