GREENWOOD — Maria “Toni” Hartfield, 53, of the Hampton House, died September 2, 2000 at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Fletcher, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James John Bavaro and Maria Lyda Bavaro. She attended Greenwood Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jason C. Hartfield and Jon-Erik Hartfield, both of Greenwood.
Cryptside services will be at 11 Tuesday at Oakbrook Memorial Park Mausoleum, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Payne.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
Blyth Funeral Home is in charge.

Leslie M. Walker

LAURENS — Leslie Myra Walker, 33, of 206 Doublebrook Dr., died September 2, 2000 in Laurens County Hospital.
She was the daughter of Larry J. and June B. Walker. She was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her parents of the home; a maternal grandmother, Etheline Bloodworth; and a brother, Vince Walker of Greenwood.
Services will be at 2 today at the First Presbyterian Church of Laurens, conducted by the Rev. Marc Coker. Burial will be in the Westview Memorial Park.
The family is at the home.
Memorial may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The Kennedy Mortuary is in charge.

Mozella H. Walker

ABBEVILLE — Mozella Hunter Walker, 90, of 110 Rock House Circle, widow of William Walker Sr., died September 3, 2000, at the home of her daughter.
Born in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late George and Janice Wideman Walker. She was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Wright of Abbeville; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 110 Rock House Circle, Abbeville.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge..

Billy Balchin

GREENWOOD — George W. “Billy” Balchin, 65, of Georgetown Apartments, widower of Ethel Balchin, died Oct. 15, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
The family is at the home of his mother, Vera Balchin, 301 Draper St.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Zelma Moore Blair

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Zelma Moore Blair, wife of James Blair, died Oct. 15, 2000, at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
Born in McCormick, S.C., she was a daughter of James Moore and the late Margie Dorn Moore. She was a member of Shiloh AME Church in McCormick.
Survivors include her husband of Plum Branch, S.C.; her father of McCormick; four daughters, Bridgette Blair, Dorothy Blair, Tawanda Blair and Latesha Blair, all of Augusta; two sons, James Blair Jr. and Jerico Blair, both of Plum Branch; four sisters, Joann Moore Tolbert of Plum Branch, Janie Moore and Bobbie J. Tate, both of McCormick and Thelma White of Greenwood; six brothers, Leroy Moore of Oxen Hill, Md., Timothy Moore of Wilmington, N.C., Robert Moore, Johnny Moore and James Moore Jr., all of McCormick and Willie “Tank” Moore of Lincolnton
The family is at the home of her father, James Moore, Highway 221 North, Freemans Place and at the home on Highway 221 and 28 South, Plum Branch.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home, McCormick, which is in charge.

Elizabeth A. Griffith

NEWBERRY — Elizabeth Attaway Griffith, 72, of 323 Mount Bethel Garmany Road, widow of J. Wilbur Griffith, died Oct. 14, 2000, at her home.
Born in Kinards, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Azilee Wright Attaway. She was an employee of Canteen Food Services and a member of O’Neal Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Willie Mae Yonn and Roberta Jackson, both of Newberry; a brother, William E. Attaway of Newberry; two stepdaughters, Sarah Bedenbaugh of Prosperity and Helen Keitt of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a stepson, Gerald Griffith of Columbia; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 Wednesday at Whitaker Funeral Home, with burial in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6:30-8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association, c/o Mrs. E.M. Hughes, 2201 Main St., Newberry, S.C. 29108.
Whitaker Funeral Home is in charge.

Frances Kirkpatrick

DONALDS — Frances Poore Kirkpatrick, of Route 2, widow of James M. Kirkpatrick, died Oct. 16, 2000, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Services will be announced by Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals, which is in charge.

Norman W. Padgett

LAURENS — Norman Wilbur Padgett, 54, of 483 Lakeview Drive, husband of Joann Norris Padgett, died Oct. 15, 2000, at his home.
Born in Laurens, he was a son of Clyde Padgett and the late Dorothy Walker Padgett. He was a former employee of Tavern Sportswear, Hickory Tavern and Food Lion of Laurens and a member of Bellview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Greg Padgett of Gray Court; his father of Laurens; three brothers, Bobby Padgett of Clinton and Billy Padgett and Jerry Padgett, both of Laurens; two sisters, Joann Bagwell of Laurens and Evelyn Cox of Mountville; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Tuesday at Bellview Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Gray Funeral Home.

HODGES — Vera Cue Awtry Poore, 84, of 3424 Highway 25 North, widow of Harry F. Poore, died Oct. 15, 2000, at Self Memorial Hosptial in Greenwood.
Visitation is from 7-8 Tuesday at Blyth Funeral Home.

Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Mary Lee Rauch

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mary Lee Butler Rauch, of 2412 Promeroy St. S.E., wife of Felix Rauch, died Oct. 11, 2000.
Born in Saluda County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Will and Adline Brown Butler. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Marie Rauch and Delaphine Rauch, both of Washington , D.C.; two sisters, Emma Butler of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Irene Means of Newberry, S.C.; two brothers, John P. Butler of Inglewood, Calif., and James Butler of Newberry; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sharon Baptist Church in Washington , D.C.

COLUMBIA — Lugenia “Sang” Satterwhite, 73, of 1727 Carven St., died Oct. 12, 2000, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.
Born in Saluda, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Rosa Ebo Satterwhite. She was a former member of Mount Enon Baptist Church and a member of Zion Cannan Baptist Church, Columbia.
Survivors include a foster daughter, Gladys Coleman of Columbia; four sisters, Viola Stephens of Atlanta, Beulah E. Coleman of Columbia, Annie V. Summer of Gilbert and Gladys Jordan of Hampton, Va.; four brothers, Willie James Satterwhite of Oxen Hill, Md., and George Satterwhite, Phillip Satterwhite and Vernon Satterwhite, all of Upper Marlboro, Md.; and a stepsister, Lavern Benn of Columbia.
Services will be at 3 today at Zion Cannan Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Smith. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2.
