WARE SHOALS — Miss Era Algary , 92, formerly of 710 Smith St. Extension, passed away Dec. 21, 2000, at Martha Franks Retirement Center.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Amanda Drake Algary. She retired from Ware Shoals School District 51 after teaching the second grade for 42 years. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church and S.C. Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth A. Cantrell of Boiling Springs and Frances A. Henderson of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Services will be at 2 Sunday at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Rod Carver. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of Marvin Charles and Harriett Brewington in Laurens.
Memorials may be made to Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 139 W. Main St. Extension, Ware Shoals, S.C. 29692 or Martha Franks Chapel Fund, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, S.C. 29360.

GREENWOOD — Martha Chisholm, of Highland Arms, Apt. B-5, passed away Dec. 22, 2000, at her home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Cora Cook

GREENWOOD — Cora May Gillispie Cook, 94, of 410 Morgan Ave., widow of Malcom Bennett Cook, passed away Dec. 22, 2000, at Magnolia Manor.
Born in Del Rio, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Joe T. and Mary Lee Gillispie. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Callison.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary E. Hudgens of Greenwood; a sister, Eula Crawford of Greenwood; three grandsons, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 4:30 today in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Callison, with the Rev. Jason Garner officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 3:30.
Pallbearers are Fred Smith, Leonard Bowick, Fulton Hudgens, Joey Hudgens, Bradon Hudgens and Marion Boone.
Visitation is from 3:30-4:30 today at the church.
The family is at the home of a grandson, Roy Hudgens, 591 North St., Greenwood.
Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Rev. Debra Griffis-Woodberry, 1808 Callison Highway, Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Parrish Tank

CHAPPELLS — Parrish Dean Tank, 35, of 2332 Summer Place Road, passed away Dec. 21, 2000, at his home.
Born in Bellaire, Ohio, he was a son of Alfred H. Tank Sr. and Donna O’Neil Salter. He was employed by Clinton Mills and had served in the Army.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Jim Salter, of Chappells; his father of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Roblyn Bailey of Greenwood and Teressa Bathurst of Jacksonville, Fla.; maternal grandfather, Lindsey O’Neil of New Martinsville, W.Va.; paternal grandmother, Garnet Elerick of Woodsfield, Ohio; and paternal grandfather, Harold Tank of Ohio.
Services will be at 2:30 today at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Anita Bozardt. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are David Kidler, Troy Bailey, Lonnie Daniels, Rocky Strickler, Randy Edwards and Al Tank.
Visitation is from 1:30-2:30 today at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of his mother, 2332 Summer Place Road, Chappells.
Harley Funeral Home is in charge.

Essie Witt

GREENWOOD — Services for Essie Lee Witt, of Wisewood Apartments, No. 19, will be at 2:30 Sunday at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Otis Cunningham. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Masons.
Flower bearers are members of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 419.
Honorary escorts are deacons and trustees of the church.

Mary Agner

NINETY SIX — Mary Alma Whiteford Agner, 81, of 303 Eddy Road, widow of James O. Agner, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Robert David and Leslie Goodman Whiteford. She graduated from Cross Hill High School and retired from Greenwood Industries. She was a member of Ninety Six Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Alpha A. Gibert of Ninety Six; two sons, Wayne Agner and Bobby Agner, both of Ninety Six; a sister, Catherine W. Noffz of Cross Hill; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Wednesday at Ninety Six Church of God, conducted by the Revs. Milton Stubblefield, Bobby Davis and Roy Burroughs. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2.
Pallbearers are Brad Boozer, Jimmy Noffz, Ernie Whiteford, Ray Whiteford, Robert Whiteford and Wade Whiteford.
Honorary escorts are Brady Boozer, James E. “Cy” Bishop, Billy Davis, Gene Hancock, Forest McIntosh, Vernon Murray, Ernest Whiteford, Frank Whiteford and Danny Mitchell.

Andrew W. Brooks Sr.

ABBEVILLE — Andrew William Brooks Sr., 85, of 1377 Secession St. Extension, widower of Annie Mae Moore Brooks, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late Andrew Brooks and Pinkey Williams Brooks. He was a member of Long Cane AME Church.
Survivors include a son, John Willie Brooks of Passaic, N.J.; six daughters, Lula Mae Brooks Spencer, Mildred Brooks Tate, Shirley Ann Brooks, Thelma Brooks McCoppin, Doris Jean Brooks and Sarah Brooks Wideman, all of Abbeville; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Brooks of Abbeville; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Paulette O. Bundrick

CHAPIN — Paulette O. Bundrick, 65, widow of Roy A. Bundrick, passed away Dec. 23, 2000.
Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Georgia Lever Overstreet. She was a member of Mount Horeb Lutheran Church and the Eva Summer Circle.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Amick of Little Mountain, Betty Rupp of Martinez, Ga., and Karen Speight of Ridge Spring; three sons, Eddie Bundrick of Greenwood, Pete Bundrick of Chapin and Terry Bundrick of Lugoff; three sisters, Essie Griffin of Pomaria and Jimmie Nell Turner and Lonnette Turner, both of Newberry; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 today at Mount Horeb Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Dick Webber. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 12-2 today at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Palmetto Health Hospice.

Nelle Price Burr

NORTH AUGUSTA — Nelle Price Burr, 76, of 1902 Gordon St., wife of Heyward G. Burr, passed away Dec. 23, 2000.
Born in Greenwood County, she lived in North Augusta for the past 51 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta and the National Secretary Association. She retired as an administrative secretary from Clearwater Finishing Plant.
Survivors include her husband; a son William H. “Bill” Burr of Greer; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jerry T. Matthews. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Fannie Bell Coleman

TRENTON — Fannie Bell Prince Coleman, 92, passed away Dec. 24, 2000, at Edgefield Health Care Center.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Cecil Coleman of Tampa, Fla., T.L. Coleman of Graniteville and Archie Coleman of North Augusta; two daughters, Miriam Rodgers of Ridge Spring and Sara Barton of Rome, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Trenton, conducted by the Rev. Joe West. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
