Janie Bell Rucker Bolden

GREENWOOD — Janie Bell Rucker Bolden, 96, of 526 E. Cambridge Ave., widow of Frank Lewis Bolden, passed away Dec. 26, 2000, at her home.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Lawyer and Mandy Rucker. She was retired school teacher and a member of Second Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie T. Pratt of Baltimore; and two sons, Lawyer F. Bolden and Joe M. Bolden, both of the home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Parks Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Andrew W. Brooks Sr.

ABBEVILLE — Services for Andrew William Brooks Sr., of 1377 Secession St. Extension, will be at 2 Thursday at Brown and Walker Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. A.R. Kollock Sr., and the Rev. Judy Richardson. Burial will be in Long Cane AME Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are friends of the family.
The family is at the home.
Brown and Walker Funeral Home is in charge.

Lura Jean Brown

McCORMICK — Lura Jean Watson Brown, 82, widow of H.C. Brown, passed away Dec. 26, 2000, at Wesley Commons in Greenwood.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Ollie and Lura Cade Watson. She was a homemaker, a member of McCormick United Methodist Church and treasurer of the McCormick Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked with her son and late husband at H.C. Brown Insurance Agency.
Survivors include two sons, H.C. Brown Jr. of Greenwood and Henry W. Brown of Columbia; a sister, Virginia W. Able of Greenville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced by Strom Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Martha M. Chisholm

GREENWOOD — Martha M. Chisholm, 59, of 337 N. Emerald Road, Apt. BB-5, passed away Dec. 22, 2000, at her home.
Born in Beaufort County, she was a daughter of Ada McCloud and a member of New Covenant Faith Baptist Church in Hackensack, N.J.
Survivors include her mother of Beaufort; five sons, Calvin Chisholm and Leonard Chisholm, both of Teaneck, N.J., and David Chisholm, Jerome Chisholm and Matthew Chisholm, all of Greenwood; a brother, Leonard McCloud of Hackensack; and four sisters, Marquerita Tillman of Savannah, Ga., Theresa Bease of Teaneck, Doretha Dawson of St. Helena Island and Amy Kole-James of Detroit.
Services will be Friday at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, Hackensack, with burial in New Jersey.
Jones Funeral Home, 305 First St., Hackensack, is in charge.
Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge of local arrangements.

Wilma W. Greenway

STARR — Wilma Worley Greenway, 71, of 1319 Flat Rock Road, wife of George Tommy Greenway, passed away Dec. 26, 2000.
She was a retired lab technician with Owens Corning Fiberglas Corp.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ronnie Greenway of Abbeville and Ray Greenway of Chesnee; a daughter, Karen Brooks of Iva; a brother, Aaron Worley of Hartwell, Ga.; two sisters, Wylene O’Barr of Westminster, Md., and Sybil Hembree of Hartwell; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Flat Rock Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at McDougald Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, S.C. 29622.
The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, is in charge.

Clyde Linnenkohl

GREENWOOD — Clyde Estes Linnenkohl, 79, of 400 Highway 221 S., husband of Nita Wilson Linnenkohl, passed away Dec. 26, 2000, at his home.
Born in Leathersville, Ga., he was a son of the late Robert and Catherine Matthews Linnenkohl. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired engineer with CSX Railroad, where he was a representative for the United Transportation Union. He was a member and Past Master of Friendship Masonic Lodge 25, a Past Master of Belvedere Masonic Lodge, a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Shriner and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a past president and District Grand Master of the 11th Masonic District of South Carolina, a charter member and Past Sovereign Master of the George D. Bell Chapter 257, Allied Masonic Degrees, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and a past MSA representative. He was also a member of American Legion Post 20, the Forty and Eight and First Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Nancy L. Miller of Bluffton and Debbie L. Blohm and Lisa Linnenkohl, both of Greenwood; two brothers, Grady Linnenkohl of Haddock, Ga., and Glenn Linnenkohl of Forest Park, Ga.; three sisters, Leona Albea of Martinez, Ga., Kitty Sprouse of Greenwood and Hazel Russell of Washington , Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Fred Smith. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are members of Friendship Masonic Lodge 25.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home, with a Masonic Rites service at 8.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

George E. Richardson Sr.

SUMTER — George Edward “Ned” Richardson Sr., 82, husband of Mary Rogers Richardson, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at Toumey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Eddie Banks and Mary Jane Barfield Richardson. He was a Baptist and a retired self-employed scrap metal recycler.
Survivors include his wife of Sumter; four daughters, Darlene Ratchford of Pensacola, Fla., Marti Richardson of Sumter, Pam Cromer of Saluda and Patty Louise Brown of Ninety Six; a son, George Edward Richardson Jr. of Ninety Six; two sisters, Fannie Pate Witherspoon of Boston and Rhoda Hair of Sumter; a brother, Jack Dempsey Richardson Sr. of Sumter; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 3 Wednesday at Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Richardson. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dempsey Richardson, Jim Richardson, Robbie Richardson, Sonny Richardson, Charles Rogers and Mike Tomson.
Honorary pallbearers are Christine Coker, Whit Newman, Kenny Newman, Billy Newman, Tommy Newman, Jake Timmons, Willie Timmons, Winston Richardson, Dr. Wilmot S. McCollough, Dr. Les Beben, Dr. Robert E. Lee, Dr. Dale Cannon, Dr. W. Strat Stavrou, Dr. Charles Jacocks IV and correctional officers of Sumter County Correctional Center.
Visitation is from 2-3 today at the funeral home.

William L. Spearman

GREENVILLE — William “Billy” Lewis Spearman, 66, of 24 Hale St., widower of Lucille Herd Spearman, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A veteran of the Navy and the Korean conflict, he was a retired painter and a Baptist. He was a son of the late Alvin Ala and Beulah Miller Spearman.
Survivors include a son, Michael Spearman of Easley; a brother, Alvin A. Spearman of Central; and two sisters, Sarah Sheriff of Easley and Mary “Bobbie” Duckworth of Greenwood.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 today in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 1-2 today at Robinson Funeral Home.
Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Ruby E. Teal

GREENWOOD — Ruby Ellison Teal, 91, of Wesley Commons, widow of Tom Teal, passed away Dec. 26, 2000, at Wesley Commons Health Care Center.
Born in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Edward Pruitt and Cora Rush Ellison. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Ellison Teal of Huber Heights, Ohio and Bobby Joe Teal of Slidel, La.; two daughters, Thomasene Edmonds of Lexington and Norma Jean Downing of Ninety Six; a sister, Mary Suggs of Lamar; a brother, Edward “Buddy” Ellison of Ninety Six; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Ken Timmerman, Wayne Horne and Carol Peppers-Wray. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Thomas, Ron and Ben Edmonds, Jimmy and Clyde Ellison and Ken Downing.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Norma Jean Downing, 6514 Highway 178 South, Epworth.

Adair M. Aiken Watson

GREENVILLE — Adair Monroe Aiken Watson, 91, widow of Curtis Fletcher Watson, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, in Greenville.
Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late Congressman Wyatt Aiken and Adair Monroe Taylor Aiken. She attended Abbeville and Columbia public schools and graduated from the University of South Carolina, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She lived in Washington , D.C., then in Columbia from 1940-85, where she was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and the William Capers Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In Greenville, she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Greenville Chapter of the DAR.
Survivors include a son, Curtis Fletcher Watson Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. David Hill (Adair) Keller; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 today at Christ Episcopal Church, Markley Chapel, with burial at 3 in Melrose Cemetery, Abbeville.
Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Home for Children at York Place, 234 Kings Mountain St., York, S.C. 29745 and South Caroliniana Society at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C. 29208.
