David A. Burdett Sr.

CLEARWATER — David A. Burdett Sr., 87, passed away Dec. 27, 2000.
Born in Greenwood County, he lived in Clearwater for the past 42 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, and he retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant.
Survivors include a son, David A. Burdett Jr. of Clearwater; a daughter, Carolyn Burdett Wilder of Trenton; a brother, James Burdett of Tryon, Ga.; a sister, Sara Simmons of Hodges; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Friday at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, North Augusta, conducted by Dr. John M. Newell III. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Nephews are pallbearers.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Ethel Creswell

GREENWOOD — Ethel Watson Creswell, 71, of 1291 Calhoun Road, wife of Donald B. “Dick” Creswell, passed away Dec. 27, 2000, at National Health Care of Greenwood.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Thomas Hollingsworth

GREENWOOD — Thomas Eugene Hollingsworth, 74, of 1006 Spring Street, passed away Dec. 26, 2000, at his home.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Burris Satterfield Sr.

GREENWOOD — Burris H. Satterfield Sr., 76, of 304 Sagewood Road, husband of Ruth Vaughn Satterfield, passed away Dec. 27, 2000, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Ernest H. and Christine Eubanks Satterfield. He was employed by Greenwood Mills and was self-employed in a floor sanding service for many years. He was also president and co-owner of Satterfield Construction Co. He was a World War II Army veteran and was instrumental in the building of his church, Greenwood Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Burris Holland Satterfield Jr. of Spartanburg and Nick Satterfield of Greenwood; four daughters, Linda Satterfield Jackson of Greenwood, Brenda Satterfield Holland of Kinston, N.C., Gayle S. Stewart of Columbia and Susie Satterfield of Blythewood; a sister, Laura Allen “Totsie” England of Portland, Tenn.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Seventh Day Adventist Church, conducted by Dr. Gerhard van Wyk, Pastor Glen Garver and Pastor Robert Fekete. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The casket will be placed in the church at 10.
Pallbearers are Dwight Funderburk, David Bell, Mike Glynn, Scott Gordon, Corey Anthony, Jim Stewart, Paul Carlson and Gus Stallings.
Honorary escorts are Dr. James Smith, Jones Buchanan, Ralph Strickland, J.B. Brown, Keith Roberts, Sprunt Mabe, Gene Sartin, Bobby Black, Jim Thomas, Bobbie Stevens, Jerry Stevens, Ramona Jefferson, Frank Sistare, Charles Reeves and John McDill.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Greenwood Seventh Day Adventist Church, 114 Overlook Drive, Greenwood, S.C. 29649.

EDGEFIELD — Ezell Williams, 59, passed away Dec. 26, 2000, at his home.
Born in Edgefield County, he was a son of the late Amos and Coral Lee Dorn Williams. He was a member of Pleasant Lane Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Lottie Williams of Greenwood;
Services will be announced by Butler and Sons Funeral Home, which is in charge.

King David Cason Jr.

PHILADELPHIA — King David Cason Jr., 73, passed away Nov. 30, 2000, at his home.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late King David and Clatain Bowie Cason.
Survivors include a son, King David Cason III of Greenwood; a daughter, Cynthia LaDale Cason of San Antonio; and three grandchildren.
Services will be in Philadelphia.
Savarin Funeral Home is in charge.

Thomas Cromer

GREENWOOD — Thomas Abner Cromer, 79, of Hwy. 221 S., passed away Dec. 5, 2000, at Magnolia Manor.
Visitation is from 2-3 Friday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church.

GREENWOOD — William Gladstone “Bill” Gray, 77, of 406 Clairmont Drive, husband of Kathryn Cheatham Gray, passed away Dec. 5, 2000, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
The family is at the home in Druid Hills and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 6-8 Thursday.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Eddie Lee Lindsay

CROSS HILL — Eddie Lee Lindsay, 49, of 663 Leaman Road, husband of Betty Lindsay, passed away Dec. 3, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Cross Hill, he was a son of the late Coley and Jannie Bell Lindsay Sr. He was a member of St. Vaughnville Baptist Church, Chappells.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tara Ferguson of Lauderhill, Fla.; three sons, Edward Lindsay and Chris Lindsay, both of Laurens and Michael Lindsay of Clinton; three brothers, Coley Lindsay Jr. and Bobby Lindsay, both of Cross Hill and Willie C. Lindsay of Greenwood; and a grandson.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at St. Vaughnville Baptist Church, Chappells.
The family is at the home.

GREENWOOD — Paul C. “Skinner” Livingston II, 48, of 203 Pinehurst Drive., passed away Dec. 5, 2000, at his home.

SALUDA — William D. McMullan, 81, husband of Doris Boland, passed away Dec. 5, 2000, at his residence.
Born in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Chappell and Mary Gibson McMullan. He was retired from Boland Oil Co. and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Saluda; a son, William McMullan of Hilton Head; a daughter, Rebecca McMullan Milam of Dickson, Tenn.; two brothers, Chappell McMullan and Louis McMullan, both of Columbia, S.C.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Nels Dedwell. Burial will be in Travis Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 Wednesday at the residence.

Douglas Nelson

WATERLOO — Douglas Nelson, of 22 Keeper Drive, passed away Dec. 3, 2000, at Laurens County Hospital.
Born in Waterloo, he attended Mount Zion Baptist Church in Coronaca. He was an Army veteran, a member of VFW No. 5208 and a retired employee of Laurens Glass Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Foster Nelson of the home.
Services will be at 11 Thursday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Coronaca, conducted by the Rev. Bernard White. Burial will be at Evening Star Memorial Gardens Inc. in Greenwood, with military rites.
