ABBEVILLE — Catherine Kilgore, 75, widow of Harold Kilgore, passed away May 13, 2000, at Anahuac Health Care Center, Anahuac, Texas .
Born in Nashville, Tenn., she was a retired secretary.
Survivors include a son Kerry Kilgore of Texas .
Services will be at 4 Monday at Harris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 2:30-3:30 Monday at Harris Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Grant, 43 Deer Hollow Road.
Harris Funeral Home is in charge.

Frank Martin

TROY — Frank Martin, 78, of Hwy 28 Route 1, widower of Lelia B. Martin, passed away May 13, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in McCormick County, he was the son of the late Dave and Marie Martin. He was a member of St. Goodwill Baptist Church where he served as a chairman of the deacon board. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Martin of Troy; a step-daughter, Agnes McLaughin of Troy; a step-son, Samuel Wright of Bradley; seven sisters, Eunice Jackson, Eula M. Cade and Gladys Martin, all of Troy, Lena Jackson, Cleo Jackson and Catherine Brooks, all of Abbeville and Lucille Williams of Washington , DC; three brothers, Walter Martin of Troy, Otis Martin of Washington , DC and Horace Martin of Abbeville; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family is at the homes of Agnes McLaughlin and Eunice Jackson, both on Route 1.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, Abbeville, which is in charge.

Sandra Jean Reese

GREENWOOD — Sandra Jean Reese, wife of Wayne Reese, passed away May 10, 2000.
Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Charles Williams and Carolyn McGrier Robinson. She was a member of Enoree Zion Baptist Church, Ninety Six.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, La’Neshia Reese; a grandfather, Sloan McGrier; three sisters, Valerie Smith, Rachel Robinson and Stephanie Davis; and a brother, John Robinson.
Services will be at 2 Monday at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Columbia Memorial Gardens.
Leevy’s Funeral Home, Taylor St. Chapel, Columbia, is in charge.

Henry Grizzle

GREENWOOD — Information containing Henry Grizzle was given by Blyth Funeral Home. His survivors include his father, C. H. Grizzle of Winder, Ga.

Mary Vaughn

GREENWOOD — Mary Edith Elizabeth Vaughn, 63, of 109 Mulberry St., wife of Theo S. Vaughn Jr., passed away May 13, 2000, at her home.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Frank E. and Agnes Bolton Fain. She was employed with Greenwood School District 50, working at Springfield Elementary School in the cafeteria.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathy Wilson of Lincolnton, N.C.; a son, Randy Vaughn of McCormick; a sister, Betty Butler of Greenwood; a brother, Henry E. Fain of Danburg, Ga.; and two grandchildren of the home, Shiloh Wilson and Mathew Wilson.
Services will be at 4 Monday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Robert Miller and the Rev. Sandy Scott. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.
Pallbearers are Winton Bratcher Jr., Ellis Southerland, Lee Fleming, Clyde Henley, Russell Fain and Brad Goss.
Honorary escorts are the employees of Greenwood School District 50.
Visitation is from 7-9 today at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Mrs. J. D. Betty Butler, 221 Mulberry St.

Ruby G. Barnes

BRADLEY — Ruby G. Barnes, 80, of 2110 Five Notch Road, widow of Oscar Lee Barnes, passed away May 15, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie King Gregory. She was a retiree of Abney Mills, Grendel Plant, and a member of Panola United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane Geeter of Bradley, Deborah Turner of Greenwood and Joyce Bearden of McCormick; six sons, Johnny Barnes, Ronnie Barnes, Jerry Barnes and Royce Barnes, all of Greenwood, Ricky Barnes of Mauldin and Billy Ray Barnes of Ninety Six; a sister, Julia Gregory of Greenwood; 16 grandchildren, 29, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 Wednesday at Panola United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Candice Sloan and the Rev. Donald Rowell. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are Greg Barnes, Michael Barnes, Brad Barnes, Toby Barnes, Bryan Barnes and Jamie Turner.
Honorary escorts are Doug Dodgen, Marvin Dodgen, Howard McCoy, Bernie Edmonds, Chad Teague, Wilburn McCoy, Wilton Edmonds, Buddy Woods, Marshall Long, Wesley Dixon and Charles Havird.
Visitation is from 7-9 Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of a sister, Julia Gregory, 85 Third St.

Johnny M. Coggins III

McCORMICK — Johnny Marion Coggins III, 15, of Airport Road, passed away May 14, 2000, in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Johnny Marion Coggins Jr. and Gail Lewis McKinney, and stepson of Carlton McKinney Jr. He was a ninth-grade student at McCormick High School.
Survivors include his father of Greenwood; and his mother and stepfather of McCormick.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in McCormick City Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Alvin Hodges.
Pallbearers are Nicky Brown, David Brown, Jason Brown, Coke Brown, Adrian Brown, Donald Brown and Chris Brown.
Visitation is from 7-9 Tuesday at Strom Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of his mother, Airport Road, McCormick.
Strom Funeral Home is in charge.

Andrew Davis

MOUNTVILLE — Andrew Davis, 33, of 501 White Plain Road, husband of Ursula Graham Davis, passed away May 11, 2000, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of Clinton; his mother, Betty Ann Davis of the home; his father, Robert Davis Jr. of Greenville; two sons, Antone Davis and DMario Graham Davis, both of Clinton; two daughters, Trista Graham Davis and Shay Graham Davis, both of Clinton; a sister, Tammy Williams of Laurens; three brothers, Robert Leron{* cq *} Davis of the home, Bryant Hill of Clinton and O’Neil Simmons of Greenville; and a grandmother, Eldora Aitkins.
Services will be at 3:30 Tuesday at Little River Zion Baptist Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Cross Hill.

Eddie “Steve” Dobbs

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Eddie “Steve” Dobbs, 56, of 304 Davis Ave., husband of Daisy Holliday Dobbs, passed away May 14, 2000.
Born in Greenwood County, S.C., he was a son of L. Jackson and Savannah Dobbs Harrison. He was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Greenwood; his father of Atlanta; a daughter, Sharon Elaine Watts of Atlanta; a son, Sylvester Ramsey of Greenwood; three brothers, Bennie Jackson of Washington , D.C., Tommy Jackson of Forrestville, Md. and Michael Coats of Greenwood; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Joyce A. Dowdle

WATERLOO — Joyce Roberta Allison Dowdle, 65, of 85 Pamela Drive, wife of L.T. Dowdle, passed away May 13, 2000, at Saluda Nursing Home.
Born in Gaffney, she was a daughter of the late Pinckney Leroy and Janie I. Albright Allison. She was a homemaker and a member of Hodges Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Stephen T. Dowdle of Nashua, N.H. and William L. Dowdle of Woodruff; a daughter, Rebecca Jane Atkins of Eutawville; a brother, Jack Allison of Gaffney; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Private burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Laurens. Memorial services will be at 2 Saturday at Hodges Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Nona B. Gable

McCORMICK — Nona B. Gable, 76, of Highway 28 South, widow of Claude Gable Sr., passed away May 14, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
A daughter of the late John L. and Lizzie Rebecca Scott Bosdell, she was a retired employee of Milliken and a current employee of Whedbee’s Country Store and Kitchen. She was of the Baptist faith. She was twice married, first to the late George P. Deale.
Survivors include four sons, George Deale of Callison, Claude E. Gable Jr. of Greenwood and Terry Gable and Jerry Gable, both of McCormick; a daughter, Marie Marshall of Greenwood; a sister, Louise Thomason of Clearwater, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, conducted by the Rev. Barry Butler and the Rev. Lawrence Johnson. Burial will be in Troy Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a son, Jerry Gable, 116 Cedar Hill Road, McCormick.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.
