NINETY SIX — Arturo R. “Mo” Molina, 64, of 410 Sirrene St., husband of Hazel Goude Molina, passed away May 22, 2000, at his home.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Pearl Pace

JOHNSTON — Pearl Lanford Pace, 77, passed away May 22, 2000, at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Thomas and Nannie Pearl Lanford. She managed a day care center in her home for 20 years. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Pace Freeman of Edgefield; a son, Edward L. Pace of Johnston; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bland Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Stephen English. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church.
Bland Funeral Home is in charge.

Wilbur H. Reames

SPARTANBURG — Wilbur Hazel Reames, 84, of 271 Hazelwood Ave., husband of Margaret Elizabeth Corley Reames, passed away May 21, 2000, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late Leonard Eugene and Louise Mayson Reames. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, where he was a choir member and a certified lay speaker. He received a bachelor of science degree in forestry from the University of Georgia in 1949 and retired from the S.C. Forestry Commission after 27 years of service. He was a member of the American Association of Foresters and American Legion Post 28.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Janet Marie Reames LeFrancois of Spartanburg and Linda Margaret Reames Feldtmose of Crofton, Md.; two sons, Wilbur Hazel Reames Jr. of Due West and Michael Alan Reames of the home; two sisters, Marie Anderson and Helen Juanita Reames, both of Greenwood; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 4 Wednesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Elizabeth Thompson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church Building Fund, 105 McKay Ave., Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.

Sophie Styron

NINETY SIX — Sophie Ann Styron, 59, of 102 Sirrene St., passed away May 22, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Nesbert McCarthy DeVore. She had been employed by Southern Textiles and was a member of Ninety Six Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia S. Hodges of St. Matthews; three sons, Tony Randall Styron of Prosperity and Jeffrey Todd Styron and Tracey Dean Styron, both of Ninety Six; a sister, Jean Howard of Ninety Six; a brother, Brantley DeVore of Chappells; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Wednesday at Ninety Six Church of God of Prophecy, conducted by the Rev. Carlisle Grimsley. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are Jason Styron, Roger Worthington Jr., Alan Hodges, Timothy Styron, Terry DeVore and David Ek .
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Lucinda Y. Anderson

CLINTON — Lucinda Young Anderson, 53, of 404 N. Bell St., wife of Jimmy Lee Anderson, passed away May 21, 2000.
She was a daughter of the late Hilary and Emma Lee Young.
Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Twanda A. Simpson, Tammy R. Anderson, Bernice Anderson, Sharon Anderson of Kinards and Angels Anderson; a son, Jimmy Perry L. Anderson of the home; three sisters, Alice Robinson, Amanda Robinson and Mary Lois Young; four brothers, Nathaniel Young, Willie J. Young, Joe D. Young and Thomas C. Young; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Friday at Elzee AME Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Childs Funeral Home is in charge.

Lawrence Brown

HODGES — Lawrence Dayton “L.D.” Brown, 82, of 320 Morgan Road, husband of Alice Singleton Brown, passed away May 24, 2000, at his home.
Visitation is from 7-9 Thursday at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Edward M. Bryant

CLINTON — Edward Monroe “Eddie” Bryant, 55, of 6769 Highway 72 W., husband of Mary Ellen McDowell Bryant, passed away May 22, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Laurens, he was a son of Clara Mae Craine Bryant and the late Herbert Bryant. He was the retired owner of Eddie Bryant’s Body Shop and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Laurens; three sons, Kenneth E. Bryant and John Fulmer, both of Laurens and Eddie C. Bryant of Clinton; two daughters, Karen Bryant of Augusta, Ga., and Melissa Fuller of Clinton; a stepson, Kevin Meade of Westminster; a stepdaughter, Katie Clark of Clinton; a brother, Frank Bryant of Laurens; three sisters, Frances Crocker of Enoree, Shirley Lyons of Laurens and Ann Smith of Mountville; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kennedy Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Phil Bryson. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family is at the home and at the home of his mother, 322 Fleming St., Laurens.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at the mortuary.

Frances A. Chapman

GREENVILLE — Frances Aretta Chapman, 68, of 123 Layton Drive, widow of Paul Lee Chapman Sr., passed away May 23, 2000.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Louie S. and Addie Jessie Wooten Glazener. She was an employee of Monaghan Mill, a member of Crosswell Baptist Church and attended Forestville Baptist Church.
Survivors include six children, Paul Chapman Jr. and Wayne Chapman, both of Greenville, Louie Chapman Sr. of Laurens, Jackey Chapman of Abbeville, Aretta Allen of Williamston and Sandra Black of Piedmont; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Dorothy Reeves, both of Greenville; a brother, Alvoid Glazener of Simpsonville; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Forestville Baptist Church, with burial in Graceland Cemetery, West.
Visitation is from 5:30-7:30 today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.

Joseph F. Johnson

IVA — Joseph F. Johnson, 73, of 203 Barnes Station Road, husband of Eris Gailey Johnson, passed away May 23, 2000, at National Health Care of Greenwood.
Born in Iva, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Lucille Lawton Johnson. He retired construction engineer with Owens Corning Fiberglass in Toledo, Ohio. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired as a sergeant major from the South Carolina National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion, the Angus Association, Iva Masonic Lodge No. 23 and was a past district deputy of the 14th district. He attended Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Margaret Johnson of the home and Linda Burdette of Iva; two brothers, Gerald Johnson of Greenville and James C. Johnson of Anderson; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services, with full Masonic rites, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Iva City Cemetery. The Rev. Martin Wiles will officiate.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson.

Lawrence Brown

HODGES — Lawrence Dayton “L.D.” Brown, 82, of 320 Morgan Road, husband of Alice Singleton Brown, passed away May 24, 2000, at his home.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Lawrence Calvin and Mattie Faulkner Brown. He was a pulpwood producer, a retired farmer and a former employee of Abney Mills, Panola Plant. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and the Wilbur Burroughs Sunday School Class and Golden Agers of the church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Bascombe No. 363.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Nancy B. Smith of Hodges and Pat B. Scott of Greenwood; two sisters, Catherine B. Coates of Hodges and Barbara B. Hammonds of Martinez, Ga.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 Friday at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. J. Chad Collins, the Rev. Brian Saxon and the Rev. Charles Caldwell. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Honorary escorts are members of the Wilbur Burroughs Sunday School Class, along with A.D. Ashley.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
