NEWBERRY — Helen Hyler Livingston, of 2011 Charles St., widow of James E. Livingston, passed away June 18, 2000, at Newberry County Hospital.
Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Ernest H. and Ophelia Duckett Livingston. She was a member of Newberry Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina L. Perry of Newberry; three sisters, Virginia Moates of Newberry, Jeanette Bundrick of Chapin and Bobbie Bush of Honea Path; two brothers, E.J. Hyler of Newberry and Ernest Hyler Jr. of Saluda; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Tuesday at Newberry Christian Church, with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6:30-7:30 tonight at Whitaker Funeral Home.

Victor McCormick

GREENWOOD — Victor M. McCormick, 48, of 137 Patrick Road, passed away June 18, 2000, at his home.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan, he was a son of Huston and Margaret Wiseman McCormick. He received a master’s degree from Clemson University and was employed by Piedmont Technical College as a computer teacher. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his parents of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth McCormick of New Zealand; and three brothers, Jerry McCormick of Madison Heights, Mich., Sam McCormick of Roseville, Mich., and Robin McCormick of Troy, Mich.
Services will be at 2 Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gayle Summey and the Rev. Rich Lancaster.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Eric C. Sanders Jr.

CALHOUN FALLS — Eric C. Sanders Sr., 34, of 206 Pendleton St., husband of Malinda H. Sanders, passed away June 16, 2000, at the home of his mother.
Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son M.C. and Margaret Sanders. He was a member of Glovers AME Church of Calhoun Falls.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents of Calhoun Falls; two sons, Eric C. Sanders Jr. and Jimmy Sanders, both of the home; four daughters, Tiffany Sanders, Ariel Sanders, Eboni Sanders and Erica Sanders, all of the home; three sisters, Hariet McHaffey and Jacqueline Sanders, both of Calhoun Falls and Suzanne Harris of Willington; and three brothers, Fernando Sanders and Danny Sanders, both of Calhoun Falls and Michael Tolden of Laurens.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Glovers AME Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert L. Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
The family is at the home of his mother, 104 Seneca Circle.

Gene Ashmore

LINCOLNTON, Ga. — Eugene “Gene” Talmadge Ashmore, 63, of 1158 Ludwig Road, passed away June 18, 2000, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Otis and Lillian Brown Ashmore. He was a truck driver and was employed by Reed Ice Co. and Reed Propane Co. for more than 20 years.
Survivors include Gregory Kevin Ashmore and Stuart Keith Ashmore, both of Gaston, S.C.; a daughter, Eugenia A. Jones of Waterloo, S.C.; three brothers, Donnie Ashmore of Evans and Grady Ashmore and Billy Ashmore, both of Belton, S.C.; a sister, Sudie Mae Arnett of Greenwood, S.C.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Martin’s Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Law.
Pallbearers are Keith Ashmore, Robin Ashmore, Michael Ashmore, Talmadge B. Reed, Kenneth Reed and Tab Reed.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Beggs Funeral Home.

Virginia D. Dean

CLEMSON — Virginia Dusenberry Dean, 86, wife of Jordan A. Dean Sr., passed away June 18, 2000.
Born in Due West, she was a daughter of the late George Reid Dusenberry and Lina Radcliffe. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Erskine College in 1935 and a master of arts degree from Clemson University in 1963. She taught music and mathematics at Calhoun Falls, Fork Shoals, Six Mile and Keowee high schools and at Lakeside Middle School in Anderson. She was a member of Fort Hill Garden Club, Clemson United Methodist Church and the Koinonia Bible Class of the church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jordan A. Dean Jr., William D. Dean and James F. Dean, all of Clemson; a daughter, Melissa Virginia Dean of Aiken; two brothers, George R. Dusenberry of Burlington, N.C., and Francis C. Dusenberry of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Katherine Daniel of Durham, N.C., Sophie Meadors of Greenville and Margaret Beard of Anderson; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 Wednesday at Cemetery Hill on the Clemson University campus. Memorial services will be at 2:30 at Clemson United Methodist Church, with a reception in the social hall of the church after the service.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
The family is at the home, 331 Pendleton Road, Clemson.

Orin J. Edwards

GREENWOOD — Orin J. Edwards, 89, of 709 New Market St., husband of Louvenia Beasley Edwards, passed away June 19, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late George B. and Mary McCarthy Edwards. He retired from Allen Brothers Milling Co. and was a member of South Main Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Carlton Barry Edwards of Hendersonville, N.C.; a daughter, Patricia Edwards McBride of Waterloo; two sisters, Flossie Edwards McMahon and Verda Edwards Whatley, both of Greenwood; three brothers, Rufus Edwards and Winford Edwards, both of Greenwood and Furman Edwards of Decatur, Ga.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dave Patterson and the Rev. Richard McWhite. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Johnny Beasley, Gregg Boyd, Jeffery Pearson, Roger Gilbert, George Shaw, Larry Bryant, Lim Porter and Barry R. Edwards.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Lewis J. Jordan

BELTON — Lewis Jerome “Jerry” Jordan, 62, of 107 Springdale Drive, husband of Mollie Hammond Jordan, passed away June 17, 2000.
A son of Rhoda Grace Holliday Jordan and the late George Lewis Jordan, he was an employee of Goodman Conveyor and an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Tracy Jordan of Ware Shoals; and his mother of Pelzer.
Services are at 4 today at Cox Funeral Home, with burial in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Belton Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 509, Belton, S.C. 29627.

Thomas H. Killian

WEST COLUMBIA — Thomas Heyward Killian, 65, husband of Mary L. Killian, passed away June 16, 2000.
Born in White Rock, he was a son of the late Harvey A. and Pearl Amick Killian. He was an Army veteran and a member of Suburban Baptist Church and the Men’s Group. He was an employee of Fairmont Tamper.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Killian of Lexington and Paul Killian of Gastonia, N.C.; a daughter, Tracy Killian Stokes of West Columbia; three brothers, James Killian of Prosperity and J.B. Killian and Glennest Killian, both of Lexington; two sisters, Estelle Boland of Saluda and Edna Pearl Amick of Chapin; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday at Suburban Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Tri-County Hospice.

Ebbie King

NINETY SIX — Ebbie Wheeler King, 88, of 6107 Highway 246 S., widow of A.P. King, passed away June 19, 2000.
Born in Saluda, she was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Sallie Turner Wheeler. She was a patient sitter and a member of the Democratic Party Association and the Fairview Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Ninety Six.
Survivors include a son, Drury King of Greenwood; a daughter, Lula Ann Smith of Monroeville, Ala.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 Wednesday in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Saluda.
Honorary escorts are Bob Smart, Jeff Milam, Paul Walker, Bruce Smith, Milton Harter, Terry LeCroy Jr., Jeff Smith, Ray Berry, Harry Berry, Timmy Gonce, Wayne Davis and Dr. Walter Clarke.
Visitation is at the church after the service.
The family is at the home.

MOUNT CARMEL — Effie L. Page, 59, of Route 1, Box 14-B, wife of Willie Page, passed away June 18, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
A daughter of Eugene and Ruth Belcher Lomax, she was a member of Rockford AME Church, where she was a missionary and member of the usher board. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Jack W. Page of Calhoun Falls; a daughter, Sandra P. Garrett of Troy; four brothers, Herman Lomax of New York and William Lomax, James Lomax and Willie Lomax, all of Mount Carmel; four sisters, Louise Wideman and Deloris Peterson, both of Abbeville and Ruth Bell and Jennette Kennedy, both of Calhoun Falls; and four grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Richie Funeral Home, Abbeville, which is in charge.
