Nancy W. Mobley

CENTRAL — Nancy Rhoda Winkler Mobley, 83, of 134 White Oak Circle, widow of James Cecil Mobley, passed away April 29, 2000, at her home.
Born in Cleveland, Ga., she was a daughter the late John Wesley and Maggie Lackey Mobley. She was a former employee of J.P. Stevens and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, James Curtis Mobley of Gadsden, Ala.; two daughters, Bernice M. Evans of the home and Betty M. Sears of Central; a brother, John Henry Winkler of Greenwood; two sisters, Ann Johnson of Abbeville and Mary Medlin of Hodges; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, with burial in Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Dorothy Raines

HONEA PATH — Dorothy Mervis Clemmons Raines, 59, of 1315 Chiquola Ave., wife of Glen Raines, passed away May 1, 2000, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Donaldsonville, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Jeff and Verdie Lena Avirett Clemmons. She was a homemaker and attended Broadmouth Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Edward Ray Raines of Donalds and Thomas Raines and Franklin Raines, both of Woodfin, N.C.; a daughter, Lena Jane Raines of the home; four brothers, Kenneth Clemmons of Chicago, Donald Clemmons of Barto, Fla., Harry Clemmons of Liberty, Texas , Thomas Clemmons of Marion, N.C.; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 Wednesday at Honea Path Church of God of Prophecy, conducted by the Rev. Barry Sutton. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 3.
Visitation is from 7-9 Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Eddie Janette Worthy

COLUMBIA — Eddie Janette Worthy, 82, passed away April 26, 2000.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Doc and Orie Lake.
Survivors include a sister, Louise Lake Grant; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 today at United Baptist Church, with burial in Palmetto Cemetery.
Leevy’s Funeral Home, Taylor Street, is in charge.

Thelma Elliott

ABBEVILLE — Thelma Evans Elliott, 75, of 101 Hillcrest Drive, widow of Bridwell Douglas Elliott, passed away May 12, 2000, at her home.
Born in Whitmire, she was a retired x-ray technician and a volunteer at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Elliott of Greenville; a daughter, Nancy Elliott of Abbeville; a sister, Marion Johnson of Cranford, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Long Cane Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5-7 today at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Henry Grizzle

GREENWOOD — Henry Grizzle, 59, of 118 Limerick Road, husband of Judy Brooks Grizzle, passed away May 11, 2000, at his home.
Born in Barrow County, Ga., he was a son of the late Columbus Harvey and Ida Belle Finch Grizzle. He was an engineer with CSX Transportation for 37 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Holly G. Price-Evans of Rock Hill; two sons, Rodney P. Grizzle of Irmo and Bradley R. Grizzle of Greenwood; two sisters, Johnni{* cq *} G. Barnes of Gainesville, Ga. and Patricia G. Murphy of Snellville, Ga.; a brother, C.H. Grizzle of Covington, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home, Highway 29, Winder, Ga., conducted by the Rev. Robert Puckett.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

SALUDA — Dorothy Beatrice Sprouse, 88, formerly of the Good Hope Community, passed away May 12, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Born in Augusta, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Carl Samuel and Roxie Elnora Presher Sprouse. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a brother, Carl Sprouse Jr. of Sumter, and a sister, Audrey S. Hodges of Greenwood.
Services will be at 3 Saturday at Good Hope Baptist Church, with burial in Mayson Memorial Cemetery of the church.
Visitation is after the service.

Susie Abrams

NORTH ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Susie Mae Abrams, formerly of North Asheville, passed away Sept. 3, 2000, at a local nursing home.
Born in Laurens, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Preston and Mamie Langston Abrams. She was a retired sales clerk in a Merrimon Avenue toy store and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Myrtle Cary of North Asheville, and a niece and nephew with whom she had lived, Rachel and Cecil Patterson.
Graveside services will be at 2 Wednesday at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, Ware Shoals, S.C., conducted by the Rev. Marion Lineberger.
Memorials may be made to Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, Mount Bethel Road, Ware Shoals, S.C. 29692 or to a charity of one’s choice.

GREENWOOD — Mary Joyce Hill Brown, 51, of 105 Linda Lane, wife of Barry Dale Brown I, passed away Sept. 4, 2000, at her home.
Born in Clinton, she was a daughter of the late Henry Alvin and Helen Allen Hill. She graduated from Greenwood High School and was employed with United Telephone Co. for 18 years. She was a member of The HOGS.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Barry Dale Brown II of the home; three sisters, Evelyn Fields Herring of Honea Path, Jeanette Flowers of Belton and Shirley Surrett of Abbeville; two brothers, Ronnie Hill of Honea Path and Marion Hill of Douglasville, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ricky Knight. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Ken Bishop, Tracy Davis, Larry Fields, Ronnie Bagwell, Risner Wood and Tommy Boyd.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

HODGES — Services for Julia Butler, of 112 Daffodil Court, will be at 3 Wednesday at Rose of Sharon Holiness Church, conducted by Elder Isaiah Campbell, assisted by Dr. Sally Campbell, pastor. Burial will be in Evening Star Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2.
Pallbearers are Odell Cohen, Jerry Miller, James Parks, Harold Williams, James Cohen and Jeff Marshall.
Flower bearers are Dorothy Coleman, Shirley Cohen, Ivey Coleman, Evelyn Williams, Cora Coleman and Camilla Gilbert.

WARE SHOALS — Ruby Elaine Cook, 56, of 150 W. Sullivan Road, wife of Michael Oakley, passed away Sept. 4, 2000, at her home.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Pauline Edwards and the late Shannon Lawrence and was employed by Smackdown Café.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother of Greenwood; two daughters, Lillian Corder and Ginger Hartley, both of Ware Shoals; three sons, Ben Fulmer of Travelers Rest, Mathew Fulmer of Waterloo and Edward Allen Fulmer of Aiken; two stepchildren, Tiffany Oakley and Eric Oakley, both of the home; two sisters, Jean Fulmer of Hodges and Sue Crawford of Greenwood; a brother, David Lawrence of Hodges; and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Eric Nichols, Fredrick Reid, Sydney Suits, Danny Shubert, Robin Lyons and Charles Bannister.
Visitation is from 7-9 Wednesday at the funeral home.
