GREENWOOD — Annette P. Brewer, 63, wife of Jim Brewer, passed away April 10, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Central, she was a daughter of Inez Elliott Ramsey and the late James Poole. She was a certified health unit coordinator with Self Memorial Hospital and a member of Bold Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother; her husband of the home; a son, Carl Parker of Columbia; a daughter, Ann Gassmann of Easley; two stepsons, Jim Brewer of Simpsonville and John Brewer of Six Mile; a stepdaughter, Kathy Smith of Liberty; a sister, Dot Doyle of Milan, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 Thursday at Bold Spring Baptist Church, Callison, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, and from 2:30-3:45 Thursday at the church.

Harold Brown

YORK — Harold McIlwain Brown, 78, of York, husband of Sarah Benfield Brown, passed away April 10, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
The family is at the home of a sister, Florence B. Haddon, 1363 Klugh Road, Abbeville.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Lois Erwin

ABBEVILLE — Lois Erwin passed away April 11, 2001, at the Hospice House in Anderson.
Services will be announced by Harris Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Sarah H. Faust

ANDERSON — Sarah Hunt Faust, 88, formerly of The Calhoun Senior Living, 402 N. Main St., widow of Robert Faust, passed away April 9, 2001, at National Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late Evans and Bessie Bryson Hunt. She was a 1935 graduate of Greenwood High School and a retired employee of Cannon Mills, Kannapolis, N.C., with 45 years of service. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a stepson, Bob Faust of Kannapolis; a stepdaughter, Judy Goodnight of Kannapolis; and two sisters, Viola Norris of Belton and Racine Alewine of Anderson.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Sullivan-King Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Dale Bradley. Burial will be in Upper Long Cane Cemetery, Abbeville.
Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown, is in charge.

Evelyn B. Foster

MAULDIN, SC - Evelyn Bethea Foster, 79, of 108 Paxton Street, Mauldin, went to be with her Lord on April 9, 2001 after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late James Frank and Willie (Bill) Evelyn Bethea. She was a beloved wife of the late Cecil Otho Foster for 57 years. She was a loving mother and will be dearly missed. She was a homemaker and a member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters Š Joan and John Novelli of Fountain Inn; Susan and Pete Girard of Simpsonville; Denise and Marty Powell of Simpsonville. Two sons: Jim and Layvonne Foster of Seneca; Steve and Joyce Foster of Troy, S.C.; one sister; Barbara and Ben Boling of Anderson. Seven grandchildren Š Scott Foster, Kristy Chasse, Foster Girard, Jake Girard, Hilary Powell, Cecil Powell, and Bobby Powell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her loving cat Dipper.
Visitation will be held today from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home - Jones Chapel in Simpsonville.
Services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Simpsonville First Baptist Church Chapel, 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Harling officiating. Interment will be at Graceland East Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1011 W. Butler Rd. #504, Greenville, S.C. 29607.
The family will be at 177A League Rd., Simpsonville.

Doris McCaslan

TROY — Doris Elizabeth McCaslan, 70, of 323 Charleston Road W., passed away April 10, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Troy, she was a daughter of the late Furman L. and Sallie Brock McCaslan. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1947 and retired from the Greenwood City Police Department in 1980, after 17 years of service. A member of Troy United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Association and an honorary member of the South Carolina Sheriff’s Association.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. George Boyd at 11 a.m. Thursday at Troy United Methodist Church. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial will be in Troy Cemetery.
Pallbearers are John Lee Jones, Jimmy Strom, Frank Devore, Robert Harper, Sam Riley, Henry Deason, Lee Jones and Roger Davis.
Honorary escorts are Arlie Capps, Raymond Kittles, Maxie Escoe, Jim Ravencraft, John Henry Young, Frank Wardlaw, Perry Chamberlain, Clyde Blizzard, Alvin Johnson, Jimmy Peeler, Giles Daniel, Jim Voiselle, Pete Edwards, Truman Campbell, James Bryson Jr., Randy Creswell and Travis Blizzard.
Visitation is from 10-11 Thursday in the church social hall.
Family members are at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to Troy United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 158, Troy, S.C. 29848.

Charlie ‘Bug’ Welton Jr.

GREENWOOD — Charlie “Bug” Welton Jr., 74, of 212 Tompkins St., widower of Josie Calhoun Williams Welton, passed away April 10, 2001, at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Charlie Welton Sr. and Hattie Radden Welton. He was a retiree of Greenwood Mills and a World War II Navy veteran. A member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, he was also a former deacon, a former assistant church treasurer and a former member of the Usher Board and the choir.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie Welton III of Greenwood and Tommie Lee Welton of the home; two daughters, Sara Ann Welton and Ada Aline Welton, both of the home; three brothers, Robert Welton, John Welton and James Welton, all of Greenwood; five sisters, Mattie Welton of Philadelphia, Gladys Speaks of Lanceaster, Calif., Ella Pugh of Emporia, Va., Thomasena Newell of Glassboro, N.J., and Mary Prince of Greenwood; and three grandchildren, one reared in the home, Demetrius Welton of the home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson and Son Mortuary Inc., which is in charge.

Henry J. Burrell

GREENWOOD — Henry Jackson Burrell, 81, of 108 Duff St., Woodlawn Subdivision, husband of Evelyn Jennings Burrell, passed away April 11, 2001, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, Laurens.
Born in Fulton County, Ga., he was a son of the late Claude and Naomi Day Burrell. He retired from Capsugel and was a nurse for 28 years, in Georgia. He was a member of Mathews Lodge 358 AFM a member of First Methodist Church of Atlanta and attended First Assembly of God Church in Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and two brothers, Grady L. Burrell of Summerville, Ga., and Albert Paul Burrell of Loganville, Ga. Services will be at 2 Saturday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Richard Impellizerri and Bob Forehand. Burial will be in Plum Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Calvin Jennings, Carl Jennings, Eddie Meece, R.T. West, Steve Chasteen and Jimmy Alexander.
Visitation is from 12-2 Saturday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, S.C. 29360.

Eddie Clem Jr.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Eddie Clem Jr., 58, of 406 Flanders Road, husband of Jean Clem, passed away April 11, 2001, at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega.
Born in Greenwood, S.C., he was a son of the late Maurice and Clara Hill Clem. He was a former employee of Greenwood Mills and retired from Thomaston Mills after 19 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Mike Clem of Columbia; a daughter, Terry Arnold of Lakewood, Calif.; three stepsons, Joe Seigler of Stockbridge, Ga., Danny Seigler and Tim Seigler, both of Dahlonega; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 Friday at Banister Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Allen. Burial will be at 4 Friday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund, 260 Grant Road E., Dawsonville, Ga. 30534.
Banister Funeral Home, Dahlonega, is in charge.
Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge of local arrangements.

Lewis W. Davis

McCORMICK — Lewis W. “Louie” Davis, 45, passed away April 10, 2001, in Greenwood.
A retired mechanic and member of Northside Fire Department, he was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Fran Forrest and Janet Padgett, both of McCormick; and a brother, John S. Davis of Trenton.
Graveside services will be at 4 today in Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery, McCormick County.
Friends may call at the home of Fran Forrest or at the funeral home. Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge.

Lois Erwin

ABBEVILLE — Lois Hall Erwin, 76, of Starlite Residential Home, passed away April 11, 2001, at Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Westly and Carrie Lee Bell Hall. She was a retired textile employee with Nantex Industries and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Simpson of Abbeville; a son, Charles Erwin of Abbeville; two sisters, Frances Latham of Greenwood and Thelma Langley of Columbus, N.C.; a brother, J.W. Hall of Abbeville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 Friday in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Revs. David Templeton and Melton Arrant.
Visitation is from 10-11 Friday in the church social hall.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Simpson, 955 Stevenson Road, Abbeville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Anderson or Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
