GREENWOOD — Annie Harrison, of 704 Pearl St., wife of John B. Harrison, passed away Aug. 30, 2001.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Cindy Polatty
GREENWOOD — Cynthia Jo “Cindy” Boggero Polatty, 50, of 346 Tranquil Road, wife of Ronnie J. Polatty, passed away Aug. 29, 2001, at her home.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Nadell O. Boggero and the late Emily Beauford Boggero. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1968 and received a bachelor of science degree in business education from Lander College in 1974 and a master’s degree in education from Clemson University. She was employed by Ninety Six School District 52 as a teacher at Ninety Six High School. She was Teacher of the Year for Ninety Six High School and Teacher of the Year for District 52 for school year 1999-2000.
Mrs. Polatty was elected to the Greenwood County Council in 1995 and held the office until her death, continually serving as vice chairman since her election. A member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Pair and Spares Sunday School Class and the Evangelism Committee and the 1987 president of the United Methodist Women. She was a Sunday School teacher for the college age class, which she helped to establish.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her father of Greenwood; twin daughters, Emily Parks Polatty of Charleston and Elizabeth Jo Polatty of the home; a son, Will Thomas Polatty of the home; and a brother, Barry N. Boggero of Greenwood.
Services will be conducted at 2 Friday at Blyth Funeral Home by the Revs. Ken Timmerman and Wayne Horne. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Waddy Babb, Howard Corley, Bubba Fennell, Homer Sears, Jimmy Burton, Dee Garner and Dink Beauford.
Honorary escorts are the faculty, staff and administration of Ninety Six High School and members of the Greenwood County Council along with, Jim Kier, John Drummond, Floyd Nicholson, Hunter Eddy, Dr. Robert Stewart, Dr. Jeff Langford, Dr. Larry Gluck and Dr. David Pearlstone.
Visitation is from 12:30-2 Friday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Ray Watts
HODGES — William Ray Watts, 72, of 2815 Highway 25 N., husband of Betty Martin Watts, passed away Aug. 29, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Alvin C. and Leasy Womack Watts. He graduated from Greenwood High School and Converse College and retired from Professional Medical Products. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Bascomb Lodge 363 A.F.M. and Harris Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Ann McAlister of Greenwood; a sister, Julia Duncan of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harley Funeral Home by the Rev. Frank Thomas and the Rev. Steve Watson. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Bill Davis, Otis Gray, Jason Watts, Tom Beckett, Ray Bishop, Eddie Dalton, Paul Jones and Ben Kelly.
Visitation is from 7-9 Friday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Ann McAlister, 104 Lacy Court, Hunters Creek.
Memorials may be made to Harris Baptist Church, 300 Center St., Greenwood, S.C. 29649.

Al Morris
GREENWOOD — Allen Terrance “Al” Morris, 50, of 951 Sunset Drive, husband of Martelle Taylor Morris, passed away Aug. 3, 2001, at his home.
Born in South Charleston, W.Va., he was a son of Edna Cox Morris and the late Wetzel Walter Morris. He graduated from South Charleston High School and attended West Virginia University and Anderson University in Anderson, Ind. He was owner and operator of Carolina Micro Systems. Formerly of Morgantown, W.Va., he had lived in Greenwood since 1991.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of South Charleston, W.Va.; a son, Ian Matthew Morris of Greenwood; three daughters, Becca Elise Morris, Brielle Martelle Morris and Matea Estelle Morris, all of the home; a sister, Pam M. Hamilton of South Charleston; and a granddaughter.
There will be a private family memorial service.
Visitation is at Blyth Funeral Home from 7-8 tonight.
Memorials may be made to Self Memorial Hospital Juvenile Diabetes Camp, c/o Self Memorial Hospital, 1325 Spring St., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Earl Shirley
HODGES - Earl Tex Shirley, 77, resident of 4711 Main Street, husband of Dorothy (Dot) Godfrey Shirley, passed away August 3, 2001 at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, June 28, 1924, he was a son of the late George Daniel and Emma Hodges Shirley. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II and retired from Marvin Mathis Plumbing Company after 38 years service.
A member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, he was also a member of the Senior Sunday School Class.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two daughters, Jeannie S. Crouch of Edgefield and Elaine S. Hudson of Greenwood; four sons, Rondy E. Shirley of Donalds, Dorton E. Shirley and Jerry D. "Rip" Shirley, both of Hodges and Terry "Bird" Shirley of Greenwood; two brothers, Marshall Shirley of Abbeville and Elbert Shirley of Hodges; a sister, Lois Langley of Greenwood; grandchildren, Tommy Shirley, Lisa Shirley Reese, P.J. Shirley, Sandy Brusca, Missy Tripp, Shane Puckett, Jennifer Lindley, Michael Steinhauer, Hope Campbell and Matt Shirley; eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Shirley was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Shirley.
Funeral services will be conducted 2PM Sunday at New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Phillip Morris and Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Shirley, Raymond Shirley, Claude Shirley, Jason Shirley, Colie Shirley, Robert Godfrey, Jr., Roger Knight, and Jim Timms.
Honorary escort will be Men of the Senior Sunday School Class along with Marvin Mathis, Mark Harrison, Jerry Mitchell, Dr. Robert Todd, Frank Smith, Tom Shirley and Adger Shirley.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the Church at 1PM Sunday.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Saturday evening.

Kenneth E. Smith
SALUDA - Services for Kenneth E. Smith, 65, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2001 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with burial in Travis Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2001 at Ramey Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Kenneth E. Smith Memorial Fund or Saluda Fire Department.
Mr. Smith passed away Thursday, August 2, 2001, in an accident. Born in Saluda, SC, on.January 18, 1936, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Smith. Mr. Smith was a member of St..Paul United Methodist Church where he was a member of Charles A. Graves Sunday School Class and the Super-intendent of the Sunday School. He was retired from Sprint and was a member of the Saluda Fire Department and was the 2000 Fireman of the Year.
Surviving are his wife, Annie "Ann" M. Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Kennifer S. and Tom Cox; son and daughter-in-law, Ben W. and Michelle W. Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Toni C. and Fairy B. Smith; nieces, Allyson S. Martin, Natalie S. Hite, Paula Copeland, Jessica Wilson and Gia Seaberg; nephews, Bill McAlister and Alex Wilson; an aunt, Gwendolyn Boswell; and in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Ben G. McAlister; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin L. Underwood and Mr. and Mrs. Darron Wilson.

CROSS HILL — Will Irby Smith, 77, of 22 Smith Irwin Road, husband of Lois Parkman Smith, passed away Aug. 2, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta.
Visitation is from 7-9 Sunday at Blyth Funeral Home.

Dot Dominick
GREENWOOD - Dorothy Elizabeth 'Dot' Free Dominick, 84, resident of 103 Northwoods Road, widow of James Cecil Dominick, Ph.G. passed away August 5, 2001.
Born in Ninety Six, April 13, 1917, she was a daughter of the late William Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth Coleman Free. She was a graduate of Ninety Six High School and the Greenwood Business College.
Mrs. Dominick was co-owner of Dominick's Pharmacy for over 40 years and helped to establish Dominick's Hardware House. She was very involved in the Greenwood business community and made many contributions. She actively participated with her brothers, George and Colie in the ownership and management of Edgewood Cemetery and Mausoleum. Friends and relatives will remember the love she had for each of them, her many kindnesses and her wonderful sense of humor.
A member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Ernest Workers Sunday School Class and the Mary Witt Circle of the Church. Mrs. Dominick was a member of the Pilot Club of Greenwood, widows of the York Rite and the Greenwood AARP.
Surviving are a daughter, Saundra J. Dominick of Greenwood; two sons and daughters-in-law James F. 'Jim' and Shirley T. Dominick and W. Rhett and Anna G. Dominick, both of Greenwood; a brother, Ben D. Free of Greenwood; a sister, Marema Milam of Ninety Six; four granddaughters, Shannon Dominick of Greenville, Shelby, Leslie and Elizabeth Dominick, all of Greenwood.
Mrs. Dominick was predeceased by thirteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Tuesday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Curtis and Dr. J. William Harris officiating.
Entombment will be in Edgewood Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Bob Dominick, Buck Free, J.S. Stroud, Bill Rambo, Sr., Bubba Free, Jeff Milam, Dave Free, Bill Free, and Randy Free.
Honorary escort will be members of the Ernest Workers Sunday School Class and the Mary Witt Circle of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and the Pilot Club of Greenwood.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the Church at 10AM Tuesday.

Sara Rosser Evans
CALHOUN FALLS — Sara Jane Rosser Evans, 62, of 105 Main St., passed away Aug. 3, 2001, at her home.
Born in Elberton, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Jessie Carroll and Lillie Gertrude Shiflett Rosser. She was a retired weaver in the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith. She was twice married, first to Richard Crutchfield, and second to Bennett Evans.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Hutchison of Calhoun Falls and Karen Annette Malone of Shreveport, La.; two sons, Marion “Tracy” Evans of Calhoun Falls and Jeffrey Wayne Crutchfield of Santa Maria, Calif.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Jessie C. Rosser Jr. and Ronald Rosser of Abbeville and Russell Rosser and Jackie Rosser, both of Calhoun Falls; and two sisters, Betty Jo Horton and Martha Walker, both of Abbeville.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 Tuesday in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Elbert County, Ga., by the Rev. Jerry Dalton of Northside Baptist Church.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Calhoun Falls Funeral Home.

Hayden Abney Fulp
ANDERSON — Hayden Abney Fulp, 21, of 1109 Five Forks Road, passed away Aug. 4, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of J.R. Fulp Jr. and Lee Lyons. He was a student at Tri-County Technical College.
Survivors include his father of Anderson; his mother of Bluffton; a brother, John Fulp III of Charleston; two sisters, Carlette Holmes and Labrina Campbell, both of Anderson; paternal grandparents, Bennett and Sally Rose of Anderson; and maternal grandfather, John Lyons of Anderson. Memorial services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Grace Episcopal Church by the Revs. Andy Anderson and Scott Baker. Burial services at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will be private.

McCORMICK — Mary Jane Harris Leggs, 44, of Route 2, passed away Aug. 5, 2001.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of Julia Harris and Joe Louis Jones. She was a member of The Holy Rock Reformed Episcopal Church. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was formerly employed in the textile industry.
Survivors include her mother of McCormick; her father of Bennettsville; her husband, Alton Leggs of Abbeville; two sons, James Hall of Brooklyn and Michael Hall of Abbeville; a daughter, Ebony Hall of Greenwood; two grandsons; and a grandmother, Mary Harris of McCormick.
The family is at the home of her grandmother, Route 2, Highway 378 East.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.
