Louise Tucker
ABBEVILLE - Louise Getsinger Tucker, 89, resident of 16 Bell Road, widow of James Lamar "J.L." Tucker, passed away December 12, 2001 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, November 24, 1912, she was a daughter of the late John and Annie Majeski Getsinger and was a homemaker.
The oldest member of Rocky River Baptist Church near Iva, she was also a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, the Prayer Group, and was a member of the Baraca Class for shut ins in Anderson.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her daughters, Caroleen Brock of Abbeville, Barbara T. Scharling and husband, Harry Scharling of Abbeville; sons, James Tucker and wife, Doris Tucker of Abbeville; Frank Tucker and wife, Louise Tucker of Anderson; grandchildren and spouses, Mike and Cindy Tucker of Abbeville; Richard and Ann Tucker of Lake City, FL; Christi and David Dotson of Nashville, TN; Cheryl and Billy Griffith of Williamston; Patricia and Steve Lusk of Anderson; Renee Scharling of Greenville; Tripp and Kelly Scharling of Greenville; Delane Morin of Abbeville; Derrick and Angie Tucker of Abbeville; Kim and Tim Griffin of Ninety Six; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and a long time caretaker, Geneva Scott.
She was predeceased by a son, Charles Tucker, a daughter, Betty Jean Tucker and two grandchildren, Donald Lee Brock and Benji Bratcher.
Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Saturday from the Rocky River Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Grey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of the Men's Sunday School Class of the church. Honorary escort will be members of the Ruth Sunday School Class, the Prayer Group, the Asaville Trail Riders for Shut Ins along with Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Juanita) Burton, Jack Brock, Roy Jeffcoat, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Neuffer Fleming, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fleming, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Welch, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCaw and Rodger Purdy.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Caroleen Brock, 16 Bell Road and will receive friends at Harris Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 Friday evening.
Memorials may be made to Rocky River Baptist Church, 3266 Lake Secession Road, Iva, SC 29655.

Pearlie M. Williams
GREENWOOD — Services for Pearlie M. Cullens Williams, of 1548 Parkway Drive, Apt. 3-A, are at 2:30 Saturday at Robinson & Son Mortuary, conducted by Bishop Emanuel Spearman. Burial is in Flat Rock A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Abbeville.
Pallbearers are family and friends.
Flower bearers are nieces.
Visitation is Friday at the home of a cousin, Jessie Wiggin, 1548 Parkway Drive, 7-B.

David Crow
CROSS HILL - John David Irby Crow, Jr., 55, of Hwy. 39 South, husband of Carolyn S. Crow, passed away Friday, December 14, 2001 at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Clinton, he was the son of the late Addie and Cora Bell Crow. He was retired from Torrington in Clinton.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home; are a stepson, Christopher Long and his wife, Mary Woods Long of Newberry.
Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stan Hileman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.
The family is at their respective homes.

Thomas L. Dabbs
LAURENS — Thomas “Tommy” Lee Dabbs, 71, of 1505 Wilsontown Road, husband of Verrina Williamson Dabbs, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.
Born in Pomona, N.C., he was a son of the late Jesse C. and Mary Hodges Dabbs. He was a retired employee of Monsanto, an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a Mason and a member of Princeton Lodge and Rabun Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Thomas Lee Dabbs Jr. of Simpsonville and James Jerry Dabbs of Chesapeake Beach, Md.; three brothers, Jasper Dabbs of Muncie, Ind., Reedy Dabbs and O’Neal Dabbs, both of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Mayola Parker of Lexington, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 2 Sunday in Rabun Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Gray Court, conducted by the Rev. Kurt Mitchell.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Kennedy Mortuary.
The family is at the home.

Myrtle Elledge
HONEA PATH - Myrtle Leach Elledge, 81, widow of William (Bill) Robert Elledge, of 308 Heyward Avenue, passed away Friday, December 14, 2001, at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Grace Cox Leach. She was a homemaker and a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, William R. (Bob) Elledge, Jr., of Honea Path; one sister, Edna Leach Sproule of Honea Path; and one grandson, William R. (Bo) Elledge, III, of Monroe, N.C.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Garden of Memories with Rev. Mike Moody and Dr. Booker Bagby officiating.
The body is at Pruitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Saturday. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 506 Summit Avenue, Anderson, SC 29621, Honea Path First Baptist Church, 100 S. Main St., Honea Path, SC 29654, or to the charity of one's choice.

Raymond H. Johnson
GREENWOOD — Raymond H. Johnson, 85, of 214 Yosemite Drive, husband of Armena Ellis Johnson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Newark, N.J., he was a son of the late John A. and Anna K. Schmidt Johnson. He was a retired manager of Prudential, Nebraska Home Office and a World War II Army veteran. He was a past president of the Greenwood Music Club, a former treasurer of Greenwood Performing Arts, an advisor for DHEC and a volunteer with Montgomery Center for Family Practice at Self Regional Healthcare. He was a member of the National Railway Historical Society, Greenville Chapter and of Greenwood Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was twice married, first to the late Dolores Ryan Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Harry Johnson of Los Angeles and Paul M. Johnson of Clemmons, N.C.; a sister, Muriel Martin of Redwood City, Calif.; and a grandchild.
Memorial services are at 3 Sunday at Greenwood Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Donald Elliott.
Visitation is in the church narthex after the services.
The family is at the home.

HODGES — Joyce Jones, 69, of 4417 Cokesbury Road, widow of Horace Jones Sr., passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Laura Hodges Anderson. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Hodges.
Survivors include a son, Horace Jones Jr. of the home; a half sister, Queen Esther Hawthorne of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Barbara Mattison
HONEA PATH — Barbara Ann Mattison, 64, of 8095 Highway 252, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Charlton and Annie Lucille Sweat Mattison. She was a homemaker and a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Rickey Leo Brock of Van Cleave, Miss.; a daughter, Dale Ann Davenport of Honea Path; a sister, Sylvia Thompson of Cross Hill; and nine grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Monday at Pruitt Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. George Cooper and the Rev. Edwin Quattlebaum. Burial is in Broadmouth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 Sunday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Jessie Thompson Jr.
GREENWOOD — Jessie Thompson Jr., 47, of 625 Little Mountain Road, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in Abbeville County.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Mary Harris Thompson and the late Jessie Thompson Sr. He was a member of Pine Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of the home; a daughter, Joeshirl Norman of Greenwood; six brothers, Harold Thompson and Marvin Thompson, both of Greenwood, James Thompson, William Thompson and Willie Lee Mays, all of Ninety Six and Carl Thompson of the home; two sisters, Cynthia Blocker and Barbara Jones, both of Greenwood; and a grandchild.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., which is in charge.

Angel Chambers
GREENWOOD — Angel Roshell Chambers, infant daughter of Candice Chambers, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Greenwood is a brother, Cyee Chambers of Greenwood, a grandmother, Joise Harp of Fountain Inn and a step-grandfather, Richard Harp of Fountain Inn.
Graveside services are at 2 today at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, conducted by Bishop Emanuel Spearman.
The family is at the home, 408-B Foundry Road.

Minnie A. Dover
NINETY SIX — Minnie Ates Dover, 87, formerly of 14 Bolt Circle, widow of Lloyd Dover, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2001 at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Keel and Martha Jane Breazeale Ates. She was retired from the Harris Plant of Greenwood Mills, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of Reedy Grove Baptist Church.
She was twice married, first to the late Dewey Eustace and was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Eustace.
Surviving is a daughter, Dewette Gable of Ninety Six; a sister, Margie Thomas of Liberty; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
A private service will be held on Monday.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Dewette Gable, 114 Lowell Street, Ninety Six.

Bobby Hilley
HONEA PATH — Bobby Allen Hilley, 28, of 743 Broadmouth Church Road, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Deril Allen Hilley and Linda Dale Cobb Schuch. He served in the National Guard Armory during the Gulf War and was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Honea Path; his stepfather, James Schuch of Honea Path; his father of Greenwood; paternal grandmother, Addie Lou Hilley of Tennessee; two sisters, Sheila Ann Pope of Waterloo and Crystal Dawn Hilley of Greenwood; a stepsister, Sarinda Schuch of Oklahoma; a brother, Eddie Ray Hilley of Colorado and three stepbrothers, James Schuch of Greenwood, Zachary Schuch of Texas and Titus Schuch of Oklahoma.
Services are at 2 Monday at the Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Craig Hughes and the Rev. Bennie Walker. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are James Cobb, Eddie Hilley, Toby Hyde, Jamie Cobb, James Schuch and Joey Murray. Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.

Danny Ouzts
GREENWOOD — Danny Raye Ouzts, 36, of 118 Freeway Road, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2001 at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Hollie Ouzts and Sylvia Bladon Helms. He was a member of Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Thomas William Hagen.
Surviving are his father & stepmother, Hollie & Donna Ouzts of the home; his mother and stepfather, Sylvia & Randy Helms of Ft. Meyers, FL; a daughter, Nina Maria Ouzts of Greenwood; a son, Brandon F. Ouzts of Greenwood; two sisters, Sharon Renee Crowder of Greenwood and Jennifer Lynn Ouzts of Waterloo; two brothers, Terry Boyd Ouzts of Belton and Benjamin Pierce Ouzts of the home; his maternal grandmother, Almettie Bladon of Saluda; and three nieces, Chelsey Nicole Ouzts and Stephanie Kaye Ouzts, both of Belton and Deadra Anne Bullock of Greenwood and his former wife, Rebecca Prince.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Rod Schultz and the Rev. Mike Hatfield officiating.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Ouzts, Leon Payne, Ricky Foley, David Cockrell, Joey Crawford & Sherman Cockrell.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
