Harold E. Kyzer
GREENWOOD — Harold E. Kyzer, 88, of 1820 McCormick Highway, widower of Thelma Wooten Kyzer, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his home.
Born in Lexington, he was a son of the late Hebron and Goldie Goodwin Kyzer. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Adams Plant, in Ninety Six. He was a charter member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and teacher of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a son, Braxton Kyzer of Charleston; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Harolyn) Parker of Lyman; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rice Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Alvin Hodges. The body will be placed in the church at 9:30. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Randy Vaughn, Phil Vickery, David Sorrow, Dusty Turner, Stephen Hughes, Bud Cochran, Billy Ray Price and Terry Campbell.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Rice Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1975 Highway 72 W., Greenwood, S.C. 29649.

Robert ‘Bob’ Sims
WATERLOO — Robert Brooks “Bob” Sims, 86, of 6091 Riverfork Road, widower of Guynell “Nell” Davenport Sims, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Brooks and Lula Sims. He attended Bethlehem Union Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara S. Anderson of Simpsonville; and a granddaughter.
Services are at 2 Saturday at Reedy Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, between Ware Shoals and Waterloo, conducted by the Revs. J.C. Sorrow and Mark Risner. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Joe Hall, Bailey Risner, Gerald Yarborough, Carroll Hughes, Jerry Sims, Thomas Smith, Jerry Smith, Mike Kernells and Bay Sims.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals.
The family is at the home.

Marion A. Smith
GREENWOOD — Marion A. Smith, 69, of 205 Sycamore Drive, husband of Carrie Smith, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Lucy Bell McKee Talbert and the late Benjamin Talbert. He was a former employee of Parke-Davis (now Kendall Healthcare Products Co.) and an Army veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Greenwood; three sons, James Smith of Rochester, N.Y., Anthony Smith of Greenwood and Garrett Smith of Bridgeport, Conn.; a daughter, Jessie Ruth Byrd of Columbia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 3 Sunday at Springfield Baptist Church, Laurens Highway, by Dr. Andy Young. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are members of Brewer Class of 1953, along with Joseph Hackett.
Flower bearers are members of Brewer Class of 1953.
Visitation is from 7-8 Saturday at the home.

Sadie Beckham Truesdale
LANCASTER — Sadie Plassie Beckham Truesdale, 93, widow of Austin Franklin “John” Truesdale, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2001.
Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Jeptha and Ella Beckham. She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Bleeka Morrison of Lancaster; two brothers, Claude Beckham of Waterloo and Howard Beckham of Kershaw; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Wednesday in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Cecil Johnson.
Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.

James Waltman
PHOENIX — James Richard Waltman, 52, of 18034 N. Forty-Second Place, husband of Jeane Walden Wallace Waltman, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Baptist Hospital in Phoenix.
The family is at the home of his mother, Martha Waltman, 318 Chinquapin Road, Greenwood.
The body is being brought to Greenwood, and services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Cora Culbreath-Smith
SALUDA — Cora Lee Culbreath-Smith passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, in New York.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Louise Culbreath and a member of Young Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Tony Smith of Honea Path; a daughter, Deborah Smith-Dunlap of Greenwood; three brothers, Herman Culbreath and Robert Culbreath, both of Pennsylvania and Earnest Culbreath of Chappells; three sisters, Gladys Jabber of Ninety Six, Theola McGrath of Chappells and Dorothy J. Hill of Pennsylvania .
Services are at 2 Sunday at Young Mount Zion Baptist Church, Chappells, conducted by the Rev. J.G. Sims, pastor. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Logan Funeral Home is in charge.

Ralph Dilleshaw
CLINTON — Ralph Herman Dilleshaw, 76, of 512 Caldwell St., widower of Helen Louise Cain Dilleshaw, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Laurens County Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late George Henry and Nora Ruth Campbell Dilleshaw. He retired from Joe Bonds Heating & Cooling in Clinton.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Cain Dilleshaw of Clinton; a sister, Ruth Stevens of Spartanburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 2 Sunday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Todd Johnson. Visitation is from 5-7 tonight at Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood.
The family is at the home.

Edith Jackson Hall
EDGEFIELD — Edith Jackson Hall, 63, of Highway 283, Plum Branch Road, widow of Bruce Hall, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001.
Born in Johnston, she was a retired machinist with Allberry’s Manufacturing.
Survivors include a son, Tommy Hall; a daughter, Barbara Ann Nicholson; two brothers, Roy Jackson and Marvin Jackson; three sisters, Eva Loretha Duford, Pat Busbee and Glenda Hart; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2:30 Sunday at Bland Funeral Home, Johnston, with burial in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 6:30-8 tonight at the funeral home.

James Murray
GREENWOOD — James Murray, 61, husband of Ethel Turner Murray, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in McCormick, he was a son of the late Willie and Mamie Zimmerman Murray. He was of the Baptist faith, and he was a retired logger.
Survivors include his wife of Greenwood; five sons, James Turner of McCormick, Dwight Murray, Wayne Murray and Steven Murray, all of Greenwood and Gregory Turner of North Augusta; five daughters, Theresa Gray, Dorothy Hill, Carolyn Murray and Mary Johnson, all of Greenwood and Valarie Marshall of Martinez, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Ellen Calhoun, Ora Wideman and Gertrude Murray, all of McCormick; two brothers, Willie Lee Murray and Paul Murray, both of McCormick; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Family members are at the homes of a sister, Gertrude Murray, Pine Hill Subdivision, McCormick, and of a daughter, Carolyn Murray, 302 Ashcroft Drive, Greenwood.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home, McCormick, which is in charge.

Barbara Cantrell Brown
ABBEVILLE — Barbara Cantrell Brown, 67, of 128 Moore St., wife of David Brown, passed away Friday, December 7, 2001 at Self Regional Healthcare, Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late Lee Troy and Maggie Thomas Cantrell.
Surviving is her husband of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles & Shelby Wilkie of Honea Path and Steven & Jean Wilkie of Abbeville; four stepchildren, Linda Jo Gainey, Melissa Tollison and David Wayne Brown of Abbeville and Windy Brown of Greenwood; four brothers, Billy Ray Cantrell of Abbeville, James Cantrell of Willington, Ted Cantrell of Greenwood and Don Cantrell of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Monday at Cold Springs Chapel, Abbeville.
The family is at the home.

Debra Darlene Carroll
GREENWOOD — Debra Darlene Carroll, of 616 Chipley Ave., passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Hattie T. Carroll and the late Tabon Carroll Sr. She was a member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Church in Callison and was a member of the Youth Choir.
Surviving in addition to her mother of the home are three daughters, Tiffany Janae Carroll, Tiera Sada Carroll and Danielle Cinqunatta Carroll, all of the home; two brothers, Stanley Leon Carroll of Greenwood and Tabon Carroll Jr. of the home and four sisters, Belinda Calhoun of Simpsonville, Brenda McCullough of Fountain Inn and Lisa Ann Carroll and Towanda LaChelle Carroll, both of Greenwood.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Parks Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Rushton Twins
CONYERS, Ga. — James Maxwell Rushton and Mathew Elliott Rushton, three-day old twin sons of Steve and Jocelyn Glorioso Rushton, of 1260 Robin Road, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Rockdale County Hospital.
Surviving in addition to their parents of the home is a sister, Hazel Marie Rushton of the home; paternal grandparents, James Ralph and Faye Coursey Rushton of Greenwood; maternal grandparents, Rolondo and Zeny Glorioso of the Philippines and paternal great-grandparents, Louise Rushton of Greenwood and Billy Coursey of Greenwood.
Graveside services are at 11 Monday at the First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Steve Crittendon.
The family is at the home of Billy Coursey, 802 Highway 221 South, Greenwood.

Willie Simpson
GREENWOOD — Willie Lee Strickland Simpson, 83, of 300 Highway 221 South, widow of Thomas Fred Simpson, passed away Friday, December 7, 2001, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Donfernanda and Lissa Norwood Strickland. She was retired from the Greenwood Shirt Plant, where she worked in the Sewing Room. She attended the New Market Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Katie Willis of Greenwood and Hilda Finley of Gaston; two sons, Ray Simpson and Larry Simpson, both of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Buddy Wiles. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.

Jim Waltman
PHOENIX — James Richard “Jim” Waltman, 53, of 18034 North Forty Second Place, husband of Jeane Walden Wallace Waltman, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Phoenix Baptist Hospital.
Born in Charlotte, he was a son of Martha Leeper Waltman and the late George S. Waltman. He was a 1966 graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Clemson University. He was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired from the military due to injuries received while in combat. He was formerly of Greenwood. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home and his mother of Greenwood are a brother George S, Waltman Jr. of Edmond, Okla.; a sister, Janice W. “Jan” Williams of Lancaster; two stepdaughters and two stepsons.
Services are at 11 Monday at Blyth Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard McWhite. Burial with military honors is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of his mother, Martha Waltman, 318 Chinquapin Rd.
