GREENWOOD — William Douglas, 85, of 103 Milford Springs Road, husband of Ruth G. Douglas, passed away Feb. 12, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Visitation is from 7-9 Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Joan Williams, 223 Lowell St., Ninety Six. Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Ruby Childs Griffin
GREENWOOD — Services for Ruby Childs Griffin, of 320 Milwee St., will be at 3 Wednesday at Robinson and Son Mortuary, conducted by Pastor Jessie Simmons, assisted by Pastor Kevin Simmons, Evangelist Teresa Henderson, Minister Tonya Aye and Elder Yvonne Cheatham. Burial will be in Ninety Six Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mike Bowman, Henry Bowman, Tony Christian, Charles Latimer, Herman Ross and Colbis Griffin.
Flower bearers are Mattie Patterson, Barbara Wardlaw, Angela Lockhart, Frances Wilson, Renee Ross and Elaine Lite.
Visitation is at the home, from 7-9 Tuesday.
Robinson and Son Mortuary Inc. is in charge.

Matthew T. Leopard
WARE SHOALS — Matthew Tim “Matt” Leopard, 16, of 29 N. Greenwood Ave. Ext., passed away Feb. 9, 2001, at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Ronnie Leopard and Christal Hinton Leopard. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father of Honea Path; his mother of the home; two brothers, Dustin Leopard of the home and Josh Leopard of Honea Path; two sisters, Shaquela Dawkins of the home and Amanda Wilson of Honea Path; and maternal grandparents, Gordon and Judy Henderson Hinton of Ware Shoals.
Services will be at 2 Tuesday at Union Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bryant Sims and the Rev. Gerald Crawford. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Parker-White Funeral Home is in charge.

Mary Lou Perry
MCCORMICK — Mary Lou Perry, 58, of 256 Brassie Dr., wife of Jack Perry, passed away Feb. 8, 2001, at her home.
Born in North Canton, Ohio, she was a secretary for JPC Quality Homes and a tour director for Lakeland and Globus Travel. Living in Savannah Lake Village for the past nine years, she was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Jeff Mathias of Doylestown, Ohio; two step-daughters, Devonda Thompson and Karen Thompson, both of Sneads Ferry, N.C.; four brothers, Anthony Venditti of Navarre, Ohio, and Paul Venditti, Richard Venditti and Frank Venditti, all of North Canton; three sisters, Caroline Guizdale of Youngstown, Ohio, and Rose Harrison and Josephine Flitcraft, both of Canton, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Cape Cod, Mass., at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, McCormick, S.C. 29835.
Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, Ga., is in charge.

Marie E. Braxton
NINETY SIX — Marie Eunice Jones Braxton, 78, of 229 Lowell St., wife of William Eugene Braxton, passed away Feb. 12, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Willis Louis and Georganna Davenport Jones. She retired from Laurens Shirt Factory and was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Ninety Six. She was a former member of Laurens First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, William Arthur Burns of Mission, Texas ; a daughter, Patricia Ann Campbell of Laurens; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. J.B. Abercrombie and the Rev. Mike Campbell at 2 Wednesday at Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at the mortuary.
The family is at the home of Elaine Godwin, 75 Ghost Creek Road, Laurens.

William ‘Bill’ Douglas
GREENWOOD — William “Bill” Douglas, 85, of 103 Milford Springs Road, husband of Ruth G. Douglas, passed away Feb. 12, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of the late John Henry and Ella Poston Douglas. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Joanna Plant, and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. He was twice married, first to the late Frances Bryant Douglas.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, James “Sonny” Douglas of Chappells; a daughter, Joan Douglas Williams of Ninety Six; three stepchildren, Larry Guest of Waterloo, Randall Guest of Anderson and Ann Kesler of Gainesville, Ga.; a sister, Clara Douglas Croft of Sumter; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Wednesday at First Free Will Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Paul Reid and the Rev. Furman Bryant. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memory Gardens, Joanna.
Pallbearers are Ken Brooks, David Reid, Jeff Henderson, Curtis Williams, George M. Bryant and Harold Bryant.
Honorary escorts are the men of the church.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of his daughter, Joan Williams, 223 Lowell St., Ninety Six.

Lizzie Howzell Gilliam
SALUDA — Lizzie Howzell Gilliam, 79, of 1775 Bonham Road, widow of Henry Gilliam, passed away Feb. 10, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mattie Nicholson Howzell. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Bernard Gilliam of Saluda; two daughters, Elizabeth Gilliam and Ida Mae Clark, both of Saluda; a stepson, James M. Coats of Edgefield; a stepdaughter, Carrie M. Brown of Augusta; a brother, John Howzell Jr. of Greenwood; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by Dr. E.L. Cain at 2 Thursday at Willow Spring Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are family and friends.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Elizabeth Gilliam, 1775 Bonham Road.
Butler and Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Mabel P. Grant
DUE WEST — Mabel Picklesimer Grant, 89, of Due West Retirement Center, formerly of 1204 Old Roberts Church Road, Anderson, widow of Homer B. Grant, passed away Feb. 11, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Martin Luther and Nettie Elizabeth Medlin Picklesimer.
Survivors include three sisters, Peggy Greenway, Grace Cox and Helen Hughes Smith, all of Anderson.
Services will be at 3 today at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Anderson, with entombment in the mausoleum.
Family members are at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to Roberts Presbyterian Church, 2716 S.C. 187, Anderson, S.C. 29624.

Blanche Hollingsworth
MODOC — Blanche McDaniel Foreman Hollingsworth, 86, of Highway 28, wife of Ernest L. Hollingsworth, passed away Feb. 11, 2001, at her home.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late Winchester and Mattie Bailey McDaniel. She was manager of The Gift Shop in Modoc and a member of Modoc Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of McCormick; a son, Larry White of Augusta; two stepsons, Lynwood Hollingsworth of Greenwood and Charles Hollingsworth of McCormick; a daughter, Martha June Young of Modoc; two stepdaughters, Jean Cameron of McCormick and Ann Grimes of Greenwood; a brother, James McDaniel of Modoc; two sisters, Eunice Gilliland of Modoc and Cehoy Spires of Lincolnton, Ga.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Wednesday at Modoc Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Mildred K. Livingston
LANCASTER — Mildred “Millie” Kesler Livingston, 72, widow of James Norman “Chick” Livingston, passed away Feb. 11, 2001.
Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Dessie Juanita Kilgore Kesler.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Livingston of Lancaster and Jimmy Livingston of Worcester, Mass.; six brothers, John Kesler, Jack Kesler, Fred Kesler and Ned Kesler, all of Newberry; Jimmy Kesler of Silverstreet and Joe Kesler of Prosperity; a sister, Ann Senn of Newberry; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 Wednesday at Reformation Lutheran Church, with burial at 1:30 in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

James Miller
PROSPERITY — James Miller, of 130 Trestle Road, husband of Beatrice Wise Miller, passed away Feb. 10, 2001.
A son of Elizabeth Davis Williams and the late Jesse E. Johnson, he was a member of Little River Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, James A. Wise of Prosperity and Randel Wise of Mountville; a stepdaughter, Nancy Wise of Prosperity; his mother; three brothers, Tommie L. Williams, Samuel B. Williams and Robert Fuller; four sisters, Annie M. Smith, Virginia Johnson, Mary E. Williams and Linda J. Hunter; grandmothers, Annie B. Tribble and Sweetie B. Williams, and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 today at Little Zion Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Wilson Funeral Home is in charge.
