GREENWOOD — Sallie Mae Jackson, 91, of 402 Windmill Circle, widow of Millage Jackson, passed away Feb. 19, 2001, at her home.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late John and Paris Pixley Adams. She was a member of Pleasant Lane Baptist Church, Edgefield County.
Survivors include two sons, Wilbur Gene Jackson of Edgefield and William S. Jackson of Columbia; a daughter, Sarah L. Williams of the home; 24 grandchildren, two reared in the church, Ellis D. Jackson of McCormick and Elroy Jackson of Greenwood; 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Wallace Martin
ABBEVILLE — Wallace Farzine Martin, 65, of 107 Clark St., husband of Josephine Crawford Martin, passed away Feb. 19, 2001, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Archie and Rosa Pinson Martin. He was a retired self-employed logger and a member of Haigler Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of the home; seven daughters, Estherphine Seabrook of Bronx, N.Y., Barbara Jean Johnson and Sarah Ruth Bryant, both of Calhoun Falls, Janie Raymond of Greenville, Phyllis Martin of Abbeville, Sarah Alice Pontoon of Walterboro and Brenda Smith of Aiken; four sons, Samuel Martin and Don Martin, both of Abbeville, Anthony Martin of Calhoun Falls and Charles Martin of Greenville; four sisters, Dora Williams of Abbeville, Lillie Mae Thomas of Calhoun Falls, Emily Hudson of Litchfield, Mich., and Martha Johnson of Youngstown, Ohio; two brothers, Glen Pinson of Greenville and Eddie Green of Detroit; 31 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.

William McMahan
GREENWOOD — William Paul McMahan, 76, of 145 Valley Road, husband of Doris Hendrix McMahan, passed away Feb. 19, 2001, at his home.
Visitation is from 7-8 Wednesday at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home in Spring Valley.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Alex Proctor
GREENWOOD — Charles Alexander “Alex” Proctor, 40, of 412 Marietta Drive, passed away Feb. 18, 2001, in Charlotte, N.C.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Rosa Ellen Holmes Proctor and the late Charles Lewis Proctor. He was an employee of Compass Telecom Services and a member of Greenwood Moose Lodge 834 and Tranquil United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; a son, Jason Proctor of Mocksville, N.C.; a daughter, Kristen Proctor of Mocksville; a sister, Ellen P. Laughlin of Greenwood; and paternal grandmother, Evelyn Palmer of Williamston.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. David Dority at 3 Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Kenny Jones, Lynn Bachlor, Brian Pierce, Steve Anderson, Michael Dyches and Thad Gilliam.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Pearlie Mae Roundtree
GREENWOOD — Pearlie Mae Roundtree, 73, of 16 Gilliam Court, passed away Feb. 20, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Mahalie Roundtree. She was a member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Greenwood Motel.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Lee Brooks of Atlanta; three brothers, Earl Roundtree Sr., Burdell Roundtree and Claude Roundtree, all of Greenwood; two sisters, Emma Roundtree of Abbeville and Ollie Roundtree of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a grandson, Gerard Roundtree, 126 Pinehaven Drive, Ninety Six.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Robert ‘Bill’ Thompson
LAURENS — Robert P. “Bill” Thompson, 71, of 737 Burnt Mill Creek Road, passed away Feb. 18, 2001, at his home.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Willie L. and Marie Nelson Thompson. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was an employee of Suburban Propane of Laurens for 13 years and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Elizabeth Pearl Green and Lillie T. Owings, both of Laurens, Lois T. Hall of San Antonio and Alice T. Mattison of Greenwood.
Services will be at 4 today at Gray Funeral Home, with burial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.
Gray Funeral Home, Laurens, is in charge.

Roosevelt Aiken Sr.
ABBEVILLE — Services for Roosevelt Aiken Sr. will be conducted by the Rev. C.R. Richburg at 1:30 Thursday at Brown and Walker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harbison Cemetery.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Williams, 104 Miller St.

Charlie Barr Jr.
NINETY SIX — Services for Charlie “Shack” Barr Jr., of 213 Little Mountain Road, will be at 2 Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Greene, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Cannon. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial will be in Evening Star Memorial Gardens, Greenwood.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Flower bearers are nieces.
Honorary escorts are Richtex co-workers.
Visitation is tonight, beginning at 7, at the home and at the home of a sister, Frances Quarles, 416 Wilson Bridge Road, Ninety Six.
Additional survivors include a third sister, Jessie Lee Moore of Silverstreet; and four brothers, Colie Barr and Dennis Barr, both of Philadelphia, Curtis Barr of Rhode Island and Kevin Barr of Columbia.
Daniel and Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Gertrude Howard Brown
NINETY SIX — Services for Gertrude Howard Brown, of 2402 Tillman Territory Road, will be at 1 Friday at Old Mount Zion Baptist Church, Epworth, conducted by the Rev. Clyde Cannon, assisted by the Rev. Earl Mathis. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are deacons and trustees of the church.
Flower bearers are missionaries of the church.
Visitation is Thursday evening at the home.

Doris E. Cannon
EASLEY — Doris Ellen Wix Cannon, 86, of 108 Mendel Drive, widow of J.T. “Jake” Cannon, passed away Feb. 20, 2001, at Easley Nursing Center.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late James Asher and Frances Ellen Painter Wix. She was a former employee of Abbeville Mills and a retired secretary from Leroy Cannon Motors, Greenville. She was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Asher “Buddy” Cannon of Easley; a daughter, Betty Masters of Easley; two sisters, Susie Owings of Gray Court and Marcie Donald of St. Cloud, Fla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Walter Milton at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Buddy Cannon, 1611 Saluda Dam Road.

HODGES — Jerry Hughes, of 6214 Highway 25 North, passed away Feb. 20, 2001, at his home.
Services will be announced by Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals, which is in charge.

William McMahan
GREENWOOD — William Paul McMahan, 76, of 145 Valley Road, husband of Doris Hendrix McMahan, passed away Feb. 19, 2001, at his home.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Frank Lee and Mary Ruth Moore McMahan. He was a graduate of Laurens High School and Coyne Electrical School, Chicago. He was a Navy World War II veteran and a retired employee of Monsanto. A member of First Baptist Church, he was also a member and former teacher of the Baraca Sunday School Class and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Debra Jay of Greenwood and Marcelle Davenport of Lafayette, La.; a brother, Thomas L. McMahan of Laurens; a sister, Marcelle Knight of Laurens; and three grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by Dr. J. William Harris at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Ed Brown, Frank Burnett, Cam Grice, Bob Barmore, Horace Culbertson, Johnny Johnson, Hazel Boyd, Strom Williams and Marvin Watson.
Visitation is from 7-8 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home. The family is at the home in Spring Valley.

John Rogala
GREENWOOD — John Martin Rogala, 82, formerly of Morningside of Greenwood, husband of Angie Halliburton Rogala, passed away Feb. 20, 2001, at National HealthCare of Greenwood.
Born in Ennis, Texas , he was a son of the late Joseph and Rozalia Szkutnik Rogala. He was a World War II Army veteran and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife of Greenwood; and two stepdaughters, Gail Bowers of Greenwood and Kay Halliburton of Houston.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Blyth Funeral Home, with Rev. Father Richard Harris officiating.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 110 E. Laurel Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29649.

Louise Timmerman
EDGEFIELD — Louise Langley Timmerman, 82, of Meeting Street Road, wife of Fred G. Timmerman, passed away Feb. 20, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Amanda Baughman Langley and a graduate of Abbeville High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she formerly taught in the Youth Sunday School Department and was a member of the Cleora Tompkins Circle.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Judy T. Bates of Greenwood; her stepmother, Emma Langley McCollum of Anderson; two sisters, Mildred L. Bradford of Rock Hill and Betty L. Ward of Anderson; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be conducted by Dr. Anthony Hopkins at 3:30 Thursday in Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery near Kirksey.
Visitation is at Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, from 6-8 tonight.
The family is at the home of Neal and Judy Bates, 314 Fairway Lakes Road in Hunter’s Creek, Greenwood.

TROY — Onie Ruth Minor Beauford, 70, of 232 Mount Harmon Church Road, widow of James Donald Beauford, passed away Feb. 23, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Lilly Taylor Minor. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James David Beauford of Ninety Six; a daughter, Annie Ruth Beasley of Callison; a sister, Peggy Swanks of Abbeville; a brother, Riley Minor of Abbeville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. William Swanks at 2 Monday at Harley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery, McCormick. Pallbearers are Johnny Beasley, Junior Minor, Larry Boyd, Charles Malone, John Richards and Jamie Lindley.
Visitation is from 7-9 Sunday at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of her son, James Beauford, 325 Port Royal Drive, Ninety Six.

James Mango
GREENWOOD — James Mango, 71, formerly of 122 Gibbs St., passed away Feb. 20, 2001, at Manor House at the Edgefield nursing facility.
He was the last member of his immediate family.
