LINCOLNTON, Ga. — Henry Leonard Jones, 48, of 1077 Clary Road, passed away Jan. 17, 2001, at his home.
Born in Lincolnton, he was a son of Willie Mae Jones and the late Johnnie Jones Sr. He was a surveyor’s assistant and a member of First Baptist Church of Lincolnton.
Survivors include his mother of the home; a daughter, Stacy Jones of Lincolnton; a brother, Johnny Jones Jr. of Lincolnton; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Gainey of Philadelphia and Mrs. James (Anne) Gunby of Greenwood, S.C.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincolnton, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Quinn and the Rev. Roy D. Andrews.
Pallbearers are Eugene Solomon, James Cullars, Thomas Jones, Willie Jones, Charles Jones and Marty Beard.
Honorary escorts are members of Lincoln County High School Class of 1971.
Flower bearers are nieces and cousins.
Visitation is from 7-8 Friday at the funeral home.

Darryl Keith London

ABBEVILLE — Services for Darryl Keith London, of 109 Virginia Drive, will be at 2 Friday at Mulberry AME Church, conducted by the Rev. William Boozer and the Rev. Vivian Edwards. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
The family is at the home of his mother, Mamie Hughey London, 109 Virginia Ave.
Brown and Walker Funeral Home is in charge.

George ‘Tommy’ Moore

KINARDS — George Thomas “Tommy” Moore, 56, of 29229 Highway 76, husband of Nancy Greene Moore, passed away Jan. 16, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.
Born in Prosperity, he was a son of Myra Bowers Moore and the late George S. Moore. He was co-owner of Moore Engines and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He had attended Mid-Carolina High School
Survivors include his wife of Kinards; three sons, Kevin Moore and Charles Moore, both of Kinards, and Eric Moore of Newberry; three grandchildren; his mother of Prosperity; and two sisters, Vivian M. Gore of Myrtle Beach and Ramona Moore of Prosperity.
Services will be at 2 Friday at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Clinton, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Gray Funeral Home, Clinton.
Memorials services will be held at later date at Bethel Baptist Church of Prosperity.

WARE SHOALS — Lawrence L. Sanders, of 124 W. Main St., passed away Jan. 18, 2001, at his home.
Services will be announced by Parks Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Coke C. Thacker Jr.

MODOC — Coke C. Thacker Jr., 65, husband of Betty Lambert Thacker, passed away Jan. 16, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Born in St. Matthews, he was a son of the late Coke C. Thacker Sr. and Hazel Guess Thacker.
Survivors include his wife of Modoc; four sons, Coke Thacker III and Jimmy Thacker, both of Aiken and David Thacker and Shay Thacker, both of Modoc; a daughter, Laurie Pierson of Aiken; and two sisters, Annelle Wilkinson of Columbia and Winifred Jefferson of Wilson, N.C.
Services will be at 2 Friday at Rivers Funeral Home, with burial in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Jesse Rashad Thompson

GREENWOOD — Services for Jesse Rashad Thompson, 11, of 161 Valley Road, will be at 1 Saturday at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Anthony McCallum. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are neighbors and cousins.
Honorary escorts will be class members from Brewer Middle School.
Visitation is at the home Friday night.

Sheneka Rena White

GREENVILLE — Sheneka Rena White, of 306 Crosby Circle, passed away Jan. 14, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of Jancie Whitner and Jonas Whitner, she was a self-employed beautician.
Survivors include a son, Deshun White of the home; her parents, both of Greenville; a grandmother, Janie Sullivan of the home; two sisters, Mandi Whitner and Tameka Whitner, both of Greenville; three brothers, Jonas Whitner of Greenville and Lando Lewis and Dawne Lewis, both of Ninety Six; and a stepmother, Brenda Lewis of Ninety Six.
Services will be at 1 today at Watkins Garrett and Woods Mortuary, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Sampson Boozer Sr.

GREENWOOD — Sampson Boozer Sr., of National Health Care of Greenwood, formerly of 105 S. Bethune St., husband of Mattie Carroll Boozer, passed away Jan. 19, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late George and Maggie Brown Boozer. He was a member of Old Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Greenwood; a son, Sampson Boozer Jr. of Washington , D.C.; and two grandchildren.
The family is at 105 S. Bethune St.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Master Sgt. Samuel Brown

GREENWOOD — Master Sgt. Samuel C. Brown, 62, retired from the Marine Corps, of 130 Pin Oak Drive, husband of Jeanette Faile Brown, passed away Jan. 17, 2001, at his home.
Born in Nashville, Tenn., he was a son of the late Walter Thomas and Nanty Etta Giles Brown. A Marine Corps retiree, he served in Vietnam. He worked at Sun America Corp and Emerald Electric in Greenwood and was a member of The First Assembly of God of Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Sherri B. Lewis and Susan B. Arnold, both of Greenwood and Sheila A. Cornea of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Perry E. “Ed” Brown of Austell, Ga.; five sisters, Sarah E. Clark of Smyrna, Tenn., Carolyn Mullins of La Vergne, Tenn., Betty Guy of Antioch, Tenn., Agnes Shull and Rose Massengale, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 2 Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Sanford Jones officiating.
Visitation will be at Blyth Funeral Home from 7-9 tonight.

Joseph W. Collins

TRAVELERS REST — Joseph William “Joe Bill” Collins, 68, of 21 Collins Road, passed away Jan. 17, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was a son of the late Joe Hampton Collins Sr. and Lucille Edna Patterson Collins. He was a self-employed antique dealer.
Survivors include four sons, Daniel Collins and Ben Collins, both of Greenville, David Collins of Pelzer and Barry Collins of Cleveland; a daughter, Carolyn Hudson of Greenville; four brothers, Leo Hampton Collins Jr. of Greer, Lee Edward Collins of Florida, Jay Chad Collins of Greenwood and Dennis Liston Collins of Kentucky; a sister, Nell Barkaw of Illinois; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Saturday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Jay Chad Collins and the Rev. Dennis Liston Collins. Burial will be in Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dustin Collins, Levi Collins, Danny Collins, Barry Collins, Joey Collins, Bradley Hudson and Darwin Hood.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at The Wood Mortuary.

John Charles Flanagan

McCORMICK — John Charles Flanagan, 73, of Little River Cottage Site, husband of Wilma Fleming Flanagan, passed away Jan. 17, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was a son of the late James Francis and Eva Faller Flanagan. He retired from the Army as a command sergeant major after 31 years, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He also retired from Upper Savannah Health District in 1993. He was a member and elder of Pressley Memorial ARP Church, Past Commander and Adjutant of American Legion Post 19, secretary/treasurer of the McCormick Exchange Club, past president of the Lions Club and the American Red Cross, chairman of the RSVP Committee at McCormick Senior Center and a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James “Jim” Clifton Flanagan of Dunnellon, Fla.; two sisters, Lorraine Flanagan and Florence F. Murphy, both of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Sunday at Pressley Memorial ARP Church, conducted by the Rev. Elredge Kelley. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Charles Goff, Hugh Goff, Kelley Goff, Belton Goff, Randy Young, Reid Creswell, Billy Creswell and Jim Cason.
Visitation is from 7-9 Saturday at Strom Funeral Home.

Janis Wilkerson Galletly

CHERAW — Janis Wilkerson Galletly, 63, wife of James Wellington Galletly, passed away Jan. 17, 2001, at her home.
Born in Roxboro, N.C., she was a daughter of India Slayton Wilkerson and the late Roger W. Wilkerson Jr. She was owner of 314 Market Street Bed and Breakfast and former owner of Cheraw Antiques. A graduate of Lander College, Greenwood, she was former office manager of Republican Party Headquarters in Raleigh, N.C., and campaign manager for Gov. Jim Martin during his gubernatorial and congressional races. She was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Vestry, served as secretary of the Bishop Thomas Chapter and was a former board member for St. David’s School and St. David’s Thrift Shop.
Survivors include her husband of Cheraw; a daughter, Anne Galletly McKinney of Raleigh; her mother of Columbia; a brother, Bud Wilkerson of Charlotte, N.C.; and a grandson.
Services will be at 2 Saturday at St. David’s Episcopal Church, with burial in Old St. David’s Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Norton Funeral Home.

Eliger W. Henley

COLUMBIA — Eliger W. Henley, 70, of 37 Broadmore St., passed away Jan. 15, 2001.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Susianna C. Henley. He served in the Army and was a store manager for Piggly Wiggly before he retired.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara L. Livingston and Lizzie D. Boachie; two sons, Eliger W. Henley Jr. and David L. Henley; two brothers, Robert Henley and Samuel Henley; a stepbrother, John E. Jones; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Saluda, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is at 7 tonight at Leevy’s Funeral Home.
