ABBEVILLE — Mrs. Lee Richey “Big Mama” Fellows, 86, of 67 Noble Drive, widow of Lonnie J. Fellows, passed away June 23, 2001.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late William and Minnie Bell Richey. She was a homemaker and a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class and TweenAgers Senior Citizens Club of the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna F. Lee of Greenwood; a son, Buddy Fellows of Abbeville; a sister, Vera Fellows of Anderson; a brother, Louie Richey of Greenwood; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 today at Abbeville First Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Reiny Koschel and Ryan Eklund. Burial is in Lone Cane Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30.
Visitation is from 1-2 today in the church social hall.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Abbeville First Baptist Church, 307 N. Main St., Abbeville, S.C. 29620 or to South Main Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 1000 S. Main St., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Clara Bell Glenn
GREENWOOD — Clara Bell Johnson Glenn, 86, of 117 Columbia St., widow of Woodrow M. Glenn, passed away June 23, 2001, at Martha Franks Retirement Center in Laurens.
Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Virginia Malone Johnson. She retired from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant No. 2, and was a member of Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club. A member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club and worked in the church nursery for many years.
Survivors include a son, James C. Glenn of Charleston; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Services are at 3:30 Tuesday at Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Tony Crouch and Leland Scott. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30.
Pallbearers are Russell Brady, Herbert Wood, Hubert Waldrop, Donald Owings, Ronnie Riddle and Bobby Perry.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church, 509 Kirksey Drive, Greenwood, S.C. 29646 or Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.

Lillie Mae Goode
HARTFORD, Conn. — Lillie Mae Goode, widow of Edgar Goode, passed away June 16, 2001.
Born in Greenwood County, S.C., she was a daughter of Josephine Adams Morgan and the late Sam Morgan.
Survivors include her mother; two daughters, Lillie Pearl Goode of Hartford and Marion Wilson of Decatur, Ga.; a son, Jerry Goode of the home; four grandchildren, one reared in the home, Bobby Williams; and a sister, Mrs. Willie (Mamie) Elmore of Greenwood.
Services are at 2 today in Hartford, with Herquron Funeral Home in charge.
The local family is at the home of Willie and Mamie Elmore, 108 Peachtree St., Magnolia Place, Greenwood.

Judy Hinton
WARE SHOALS — Judith Linda Henderson Hinton, 57, of 29 N. Greenwood Ave. Extension, wife of Gordon Hinton, passed away at her home.
Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of Ora Pauline Hovis Henderson and the late Laurens A. Henderson. She retired from Wal-Mart Distribution Center and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother of Ware Shoals; her husband; a son, Greg Hinton of Hickory Tavern; two daughters, Chris Leopard of Ware Shoals and Shannon Hinton of Hickory Tavern; a brother, Kenneth Henderson of Waterloo; a sister, Barbara Holcombe of Pensacola, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Services are at 2 today at Union Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Bryant Simms, Gerald Crawford and Glenn Mosteller. Burial is in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home.

Rufus Lark Sr.
NINETY SIX — Rufus Lark Sr., 74, of 608 Brickyard Road, husband of Lenora Bonds Lark, passed away June 24, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Robert “Bob” Lark and Fannie Rollins Garner. He retired from Southern Brickyard, was a Navy veteran and a member of Pine Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; five sons, Rufus Lark Jr., Alvin Lark, Calvin Lark and Jarby Lark, all of Ninety Six and Hiriam Robinson of Greenwood; two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Dorothy L.) Butler of Ninety Six and Rosie Lark Harris of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1 Wednesday at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ernest Cannon. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
Flower bearers are granddaughters.
Visitation is Tuesday evening at the home.

Robert McCormick
DONALDS — Robert Samuel McCormick, 88, of Highway 184, husband of Ruth McCreary McCormick, passed away June 23, 2001, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Murray, Ky., he was a son of the late William Adeley and Josie Cannedy McCormick. He retired from General Motors of Detroit and was a master craftsman, tool and die, and an expert in the design and making of knives. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Dorothy Keane of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Houston McCormick of Greenwood; a sister, Lillian Hooper of McKenzie, Tenn.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville, conducted by the Rev. Jones Brewer.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Robert Oliver Sr.
MOUNT CARMEL — Robert Thomas “R.T.” Oliver Sr., 92, of Hester Bottom Road, widower of Minnie Rollinson Oliver, passed away June 24, 2001, at his home.
Born in Mount Carmel, he was a son of the late Mrs. Eldora Oliver. He was a retired farmer and a member of Spring Grove Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board, a Sunday School teacher and a former church treasurer. He was also a member of the Sons of Aide Society No. 30.
Survivors include a son, Robert T. Oliver Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, Minnie Oliver New of Mount Carmel; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home, McCormick, which is in charge.

Ruth Starnes
ABBEVILLE — Ruth Woodhurst Starnes, 100, widow of L.E. “Luke” Starnes, passed away June 25, 2001, at Morningside of Greenwood.
Services will be announced by Harris Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Ruth Starnes, drug store owner, 100
ABBEVILLE — Ruth Woodhurst Starnes, 100, who owned and operated McMurray Drug Store from 1960-75, passed away June 25, 2001, at Morningside of Greenwood.
She was the widow of Lewis Eugene Starnes.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late James Robert and Frances Keoun Woodhurst. Listed in Who’s Who in South Carolina in 1974, she also worked for Abbeville County Council on Aging from 1978-80 and was a bookkeeper for Land’s Gift Shoppe.
She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church, where she taught Intermediate Sunday School Class for girls for several years and was a member of the TEL Sunday School Class and the Amy Long Prayer Group. She also organized two Bible study groups.
Survivors include two daughters, Ella Starnes Toole of Williston and Jane Starnes Williams of Abbeville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Thursday at Abbeville First Baptist Church by the Rev. Reiny Koschel. Burial is in Long Cane Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1-2 Thursday in the church social hall.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Jane Williams, 102 Magazine St.

James Blocker
GREENWOOD — Services for James Blocker, of 1306 Bunche Ave., will be conducted at 11 Thursday at Old Mount Zion Baptist Church, Epworth, by the Rev. Clyde Cannon, assisted by the Rev. Anthony McCullum. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10.
Pallbearers are officers and deacons of the church.
Flower bearers are deaconesses and members of the Missionary Society.
Visitation is from 7-8 Wednesday at the home.

Louise M. Burns
SALUDA — Louise McNeely Burns, 83, of 2222 Newberry Highway, formerly of Natchez, Miss., widow of Anthony Grady Burns, passed away June 24, 2001.
Born in Natchez, she was a daughter of the late Robert H. and Irma Bauer McNeely.
Survivors include a daughter, Irma B. King of Saluda.
Services will be announced by Laird Funeral Home of Natchez, Miss., at a later date.
Ramey Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Jimmy Driggers
CALHOUN FALLS - James L. 'Jimmy' Driggers, age 55, of 58 Mud Creek Road, Calhoun Falls, S.C., passed away Monday June 25, 2001, in the Anderson Area Medical Center, Anderson, S.C.
He was born in Orangeburg, S.C., a son of the late Reverend H.L. Driggers and Florence Lovern Driggers. Jimmy was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Anderson-Greenwood Harley Owners Group. During his 37 years of textile work, he was employed at Calhoun Mills, Wellington Yarns, American Schlaforst and American Suessen, prior to recently establishing his own textile company. He attended the Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are his widow, Willene Nelson Driggers and daughter, Sandy Purdy of the home; a son, Jody Driggers also of Calhoun Falls; a brother, Gene A. Driggers of Calhoun Falls; a sister, Nancy Driggers Ray of Orangeburg, and grandchildren, Eric and Brittany Purdy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Gene Poole and Rev. Virgil Manning officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at Abbeville, S.C.
The family will receive friends at the Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church Wednesday, June 27, from 4:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
The family is at the residence, 58 Mud Creek Road, Calhoun Falls.
Calhoun Falls Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

ABBEVILLE — Susan Hogan Fleming, 47, of 737 Arborville Center Road, wife of William Fleming, passed away June 25, 2001, at her home.

FOUNTAIN INN — Fred Harley Nix, 57, of 2824 Allen Bridge Road, husband of Brenda Owens Nix, passed away June 24, 2001.
Born in Fountain Inn, he was a son of the late J.E. Dick Nix and Jimmie Roberts Nix. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; and a brother, Buddy Nix of Waterloo.
Graveside services are at 3 today in Cannon Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Durbin Creek Fire Department, 499 Knighton Chapel Road, Fountain Inn, S.C. 29644.
