McCORMICK — Ingrid Braune Yoder, 67, of 212 Sextant Court, wife of John A. Yoder, passed away June 24, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Berlin, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Margot Jablonski Braune.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Mark Yoder of Hainesville, Ill.; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Sheehan and Robin Lee Thompson, both of Austin, Texas ; a sister, Christine Hutton of Long Island, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4 Thursday at the Savannah Lakes Activity Center by the Rev. David Reimer.

Susan Hogan Fleming
DONALDS — Susan Hogan Fleming, 47, of 737 Arborville Center Road, wife of William A. Fleming, passed away June 25, 2001, at her home.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Georgia Singleton Hogan. She was a homemaker and a member of Due West Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Connie F. Riddle of Donalds; a brother, Luthur A. Hogan of Donalds; and two grandchildren.
Services are at 4 Thursday at Due West Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 3.
Visitation is at the church from 3-4 Thursday.
The family is at the home.

Robert ‘R.T.’ Oliver Sr.
MOUNT CARMEL— Services for Robert Thomas “R.T.” Oliver Sr., of Hester Bottom Road, is at 1 Thursday at Rockford A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Revs. Roy Andrews, Johnny Waller, Robert Belcher and Ivary Goodwin. Burial is in Spring Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon.
The family is at the home.

Bonnie Lee Peele
TAYLORS — Mr. Bonnie Lee Peele, 84, of 210 Donnan Road, formerly of Greenwood, husband of Frances Ailene Peele, passed away June 26, 2001.
He was self-employed before retiring and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Peele of Hodges; two sisters, Jessie Mills of Jacksonville, N.C., and Helen Mills of Mayesville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
Services are at 11 Thursday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, Greenville, with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 10-10:50 Thursday at the funeral home.

Barney Poss
GREENWOOD - Barney W. Poss, 64, of 131 Valley Road, husband of Elaine Henderson Poss, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at his home.
Born in Lincolnton, Ga., he was a son of Marian Wright Poss and the late Barney V. Poss. He was retired from Monsanto and was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of the home; his mother of Lincolnton, Ga.; three daughters, Judy Thornton of Thomson, Ga., Jackie Shelton of Washington , Ga., and Tammy Calliham of Greenwood; three sons, Barney Poss, Jr. of Thomson, Ga., Jamey Poss of Augusta, Ga., and Bryan Calliham of Greenwood; a brother, Robert T. Poss of Warner-Robins, Ga.; ten grandchildren, William Thornton, Dawn Thornton, and Lora Thornton, all of Thomson, Ga., Nicholas Shelton and Opie Shelton, both of Washington , Ga., Brandy Helton of Lincolnton, Ga., Kevin Shelton of Rayle, Ga., Matt Chastine, Deven Chastine, and Brady Calliham, all of Greenwood; and a great grandchild, Tristan Shelton of Washington , Ga.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John S. Tucker and the Rev. Richard Saxon officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Arrowood, Carroll Bledsoe, James Berley, Stanley Vines, Albert Cullens, Ray Kinney, Adrian Ballentine, and Tony Tucker.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.

Janie Mae Turner
ABBEVILLE — Janie Mae Turner, 93, formerly of 125 Harrisburg St., widow of Arthur Turner, passed away June 26, 2001, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in McCormick County, she was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church and a retired beauty salon operator.
Survivors include a daughter, Seleda Mims of Abbeville; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 721 Secession Ave.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Thomas J. Collier Jr.
GREENWOOD — Thomas James Collier Jr., 44, of 608 Dallas Court, passed away June 27, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Daisy Ouzts Collier and the late Thomas J. Collier. He was a construction worker and a Protestant.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; his wife, Dale Evans Collier of Greenwood; two sons, Ju’Wan Crawford and Pierre Collier, both of Greenwood; four sisters, Sandra Collier of Atlanta, Delores Keller of Simpsonville, Christie Collier of Columbia and Elaine Collier of Greenwood; four brothers, Keith Collier, Kenneth Collier, Gregory Collier and James Collier, all of Greenwood; and two half brothers, Stanley Martin and Michael J. Martin, both of Greenwood.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evening Star Memorial Gardens by the Rev. E.L. Cain.
Visitation is at the home and at the home of his mother, 208-B Brooks Stuart Drive.
Parks Funeral Home is in charge.

Ralph Davis
ABBEVILLE — Ralph Marion Davis, 83, of 90 Airport Road, husband of Sallie Myrtle Satcher Davis, passed away June 28, 2001, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late John Oliver and Lucy Horton Davis. He was a retired supervisor with Milliken Textiles, a World War II Air Force veteran and former owner and operator of the Abbeville Airport. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Robert M. Davis of Cedar Bluff, Ala., and Kenneth Mike Davis and Roger A. Davis, both of Abbeville; two brothers, Johnny R. Davis of Donalds and Frank Davis of Abbeville; two sisters, Mary Taylor of Abbeville and Lucy Blanchett of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Saturday at Southside Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Earl Hartley and Ray Massey. Burial, with military rites, is in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Harris Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

William Andrew "Bill" Leeper
CHARLOTTE, NC - William Andrew "Bill" Leeper, 88, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital of Charlotte.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held 11:00 Saturday morning at Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Tom Tate officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Charlotte, Bill was born February 25, 1913, the son of the late Charles Matthew and Beulah Severs Leeper. A veteran, Bill served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from the Interstate Commerce Commission and was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Leeper and a sister, Ethel L. Conner.
Survivors include a sister, Martha Waltman of Greenwood, SC and a brother, Charles F. Leeper & wife, Virginia of Charlotte, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Bill's family and friends will remember him for his love of photography and genealogy. It was this love of genealogy that lead to the publishing of his own book, "The History of the Severs and Leeper Families."
Memorials may be made to Kilgo United Methodist Church, 2101 Belvedere Ave., Charlotte, NC 28205.
Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington, Wilson Chapel, 5301 Albermarle Rd.

Suzette Vines Smith
PELION — Suzette Vines Smith, 44, of 346 Water Tank Road, passed away June 27, 2001, at her home.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Braham Vines and Gaynell Jones Driggers. She was a clerk with the Courtney River Store.
Survivors include a daughter, Alisha Ryan Smith of Pelion; two sons, Jonathan Lowell Smith and Adam Drew Smith, both of Pelion; a brother, Roger Vines of Ninety Six; and three sisters, Vicki Fox of Ninety Six, Tameria Lester of Gaston and Wanda Brown of Lexington.
Services are at 1 Saturday at Pelion Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Walter Ludwig and Cook Addy. Burial is in Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Wallace Berry, Eric Wells, Wyman Hall, Michael Estep, Adam Smith, Scott Helms, Neal Taylor, Matt Plum and Ray Bolin.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Blizzard Funeral Home, Wagener.

Benjamin Hartwell Goodson
SUMTER — Benjamin Hartwell Goodson, 83, husband of Frances Hawthorne Goodson, passed away June 28, 2001, at Bethea Baptist Retirement Home in Darlington. Born in Hartsville, he was a son of the late Ben Hartwell and Pearl Hunt Goodson. He retired as a Sumter County forest ranger with the South Carolina State Forestry Commission. He was a former deacon of Grace Baptist Church and a member of the Bethea Singers. Survivors include his wife of Sumter; a son, Gene H. Goodson of Sumter; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Judy Goodson) Lanford of Sumter and Mrs. Dennis (Helen Goodson) Lynn of McCormick; three brothers, Glen Goodson, Billy Goodson and Bobby Goodson, all of Sumter; two sisters, Dorothy DeCoursey of Franklin, Ind., and Avis Dominy of Sumter; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services are at 3 Sunday at Grace Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Lynn, Dr. Jim Chandler and Henry Yarborough. Burial is in Evergreen Cemetery. GREENWOOD — Services for Eddie “Big Yolk” Harrison, of 118 West Point Drive, Florida Avenue Extension, will be conducted at 2 Sunday at Zion Chapel A.M.E. Church, McCormick by the Rev. Henderson Louden. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Pallbearers are Douglas Quarles, Sherman Hawes, James Hawes, Willie Floyd Harrison, Bernard Barr and William Hawes. Honorary escorts are members of Second Damascus All Male Chorus. Flower bearers are Teresa Mims, Sharon Gaskin, Jill Martin, Clarrissa Quarles, Dorothy Hawes, Jackie Wideman, Keshia Parks, Latoya Parks, Satoya Parks, Monak Martin, April Parks and Malinda Parks. Visitation is this evening at the home and at the home of a sister, Daisy Lee Quarles, 104 Harrison Alley. Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc. is in charge.

GREENWOOD — Charles Holloway, of 113 Joel Ave., passed away June 29, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital. The family is at the home and at the home of his daughter, 709 Macedonia Ave. Services will be announced by Parks Funeral Home, which is in charge.

William D. Putnam
ORANGEBURG — William D. Putnam, 94, retired Army colonel, of Covenant Towers, husband of Helen Porter Putnam, passed away June 29, 2001, at his home. Born in Garrett Park, Md., he was a son of the late Smith L. and Jane C. Gouldman Putnam. A graduate of the University of Maryland, he served 37 years of active duty in the Army Quartermasters Corps and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He retired to Briarcliffe Acres in North Myrtle Beach in 1962, and he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Harry L. Putnam; a daughter, Lisa P. Greenwell; a brother, Woodrow T. Putnam; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services are at 3 Sunday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 12th Avenue, North Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29582.
