GREENWOOD — Services for Booker T. Bowie Jr. will be conducted at 3, June 10 at Piney Grove AME Church, conducted by the Rev. Carnell Morton, assisted by the Revs. Guy Ross and Clarence Morton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2.
Pallbearers are Walter Bowie, Bryan Bowie, Larry Faison, Charlie Jones, Oscar Jones, and Wade Jones.
Honorary pallbearers are the Brewer High School class of 1965.
Flower bearers are ushers and cousins.
The family is at the home, 103 Gilbert St.
Robinson and Son Mortuary is in charge.

Ashie Mae ‘Dashie’ Brown
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — Mrs. Ashie Mae “Dashie” Brown, 61, the wife of Camelka Brown, passed away June 6, 2001.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie Mae Abney Jones. She was a member of the Lockhart Baptist Church in Saluda and a housewife.
Survivors include her husband of the home, three sons, Cherry Jones of Laurens, Chester Jones of Saluda, Melvin Brown of Winter Garden; one daughter, Jeanette Jones of Saluda; five brothers, James F. Jones, Henry Jones, both of Saluda, Terry Jones of Johnston, John L. Jones of Batesburg, Willie J. Jones of Washington , D.C.; two sisters, Lannie Nicholson and Elsie M. Williams of Saluda; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 Sunday at the Lockhart Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Herman Jenkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be friends of the family.
The family is at the home of her sister, Lannie M. Nicholson, 237 Dean Road, Saluda.
Butler and Sons Funeral Home of Saluda is in charge.

Ulysses Bryant Jr.
HODGES — Services for Ulysses Bryant Jr., of 925 Dixie Drive, are at 11 a.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Willie S. Harrison, assisted by Minister Willie Smith. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10.
Pallbearers are Ronald Bryant, Lawrence Bryant, Glenn Bryant, Harun Balil, Deonte Bryant and Norman Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers are Chendru Bryant, Ashanti Bryant, Lewis Lacey, Khalid Bryant and Deon Hamilton.
Flower bearers are granddaughters and nieces.
Visitation is from 7-8 Sunday at Robinson & Son Mortuary.
The family is at the home.

Stella LoScerbo
GREENWOOD — Stella Huttas LoScerbo, 78, formerly of Hampton House, widow of Ralph L. LoScerbo, passed away June 7, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Atlantic City, N.J., she was a daughter of the late George and Sophia Schultz Huttas. She was a retired waitress, and she attended Grace Community Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul B. (Emilia) Davis of Greenwood and Theresa Shearer of Saltsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 3:30 Sunday in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Columbia, with the Rev. John Walsh officiating.
Pallbearers are Paul Davis, Marion Davis, George Davis, Steve Rucker, Eddie Rowell, Toby Rowell, Bennie Horne, Bill Evans and William Richardson.
Visitation is at Blyth Funeral Home from 7-8:30 tonight.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Emilia Davis, 814 Mount Moriah Road. Memorials may be made to Grace Community Church Building Fund, 1611 Woodlawn Road, Greenwood, S.C. 29649.

Thomas H. Stafford Jr.
DECATUR, Ga. — Thomas H. Stafford Jr., 89, husband of Rosalie Stafford, passed away June 2, 2001.
Born in Augusta, he was a son of the late Thomas H. and Nina Hankinson Stafford. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy and a 1933 graduate of Georgia School of Technology. He worked with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Beane in Augusta. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Howard E. (Nina) Trent of Greenwood, Mrs. Van (Laura) Whittington of Lawrenceville, Beth Grodd of Portland, Ore., Rosemary Stafford of Charleston, S.C., Christine Stafford of Atlanta and Katherine Stafford and Mrs. Charles (Rachel) Cochran, both of Decatur; a brother, Luther Stafford of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Mary Chafee Bell of Augusta; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandson. A Rite of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at St. Thomas More Church, Decatur, with burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd. S.W., Atlanta, Ga. 30315.

Samuel Alexander Washington
ANDERSON — Samuel Alexander Washington , 39, of 101 McFall Circle, passed away June 6, 2001, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville, he was a member of the Royal Baptist Church. He graduated from Abbeville High School and was employed by Mount Vernon Mills Inc.
Survivors include one daughter, Denischa Washington ; one son, Christopher Washington of the home; stepfather James O. Coleman; mother Annie Mae Coleman of Abbeville; eight sisters, Wanda Smith of Greenwood, Melissa A. Lee, Joyce D. Phillips, Veronica Patterson, Rose Haddon, Jackie Carr of Abbeville, Betty Jo Ford and Michelle Ford of North Carolina; and one brother, James O. Coleman Jr. of Greenville. His father, Sam Joe Ford, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 at the Royal Baptist Church in Anderson. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion AME church cemetery in Hodges.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James and Annie Coleman, 140 Dutchman Road in Abbeville.

Rachel L. Epps
BELTON — Rachel L. Loyd Epps, 75, of 510 O’Neal St., widow of the Rev. James William Epps, passed away March 9, 2001, at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Curry and Idella Susan Watson Loyd. She retired from Honea Path Shirtmakers and was a member of Independent Church of God of Belton.
Survivors include two sons, William Haynie Epps and Michael Jerry Epps, both of Belton; three daughters, Rachel Diane Collins of Indiana and Mary Ann Epps Arflin and Susan Jane Epps McCollum, both of Belton; a brother, James Milford Loyd of Marshall, Mich.; two sisters, Ruby N. Loyd Blizzard of Pasadena, Texas and Lois Loyd Harrison of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Sunday at Independent Church of God, conducted by the Revs. Norman Bayne, Carroll Harrison and Terry Kanipe. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Cox Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Michael and Deborah Epps, 510 O’Neal St.

David G. Jennings
GRAY COURT — David G. Jennings, 44, of 685 Martin Lake Road, passed away March 8, 2001, at 113 Camp St., Laurens.
Born in Evansville, Ind., he was a son of William and Joy Howe Roland. He was a supervisor with Carolina Concrete and an ACI concrete field-testing technician.
Survivors include his parents of Laurens; a brother, Paul Kallbreier of Evansville; four sisters, Margaret Bundrick of Greenwood, Mary Knies of Boonville, Ind., Sheila Elliott and Libby Troyer, both of Evansville; three adopted brothers, William Howard Roland, John William Roland and Steven David Roland, all of Laurens; and four adopted sisters, Stephanie Calvert and Deanna Margaret Rowland, both of Laurens, Amy Fraley of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jessica Lawerence of Greenville.
Services will be at 3 Sunday at Gray Funeral Home, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Gray Funeral Home, Laurens. The family is at 113 Camp St., Laurens.

James Ted Moore
GREENWOOD — James Ted Moore, 58, of Stone Oak Lane, husband of Rita Haga Moore, passed away March 8, 2001, at his home.B Born in Edgefield County, he was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Moore of Edgefield and Bobby Moore and Chris Moore, both of Greenwood; a stepson, Brian Amick of Chapin; a daughter, Elaine Williams of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Cecilia Elliott of Abbeville; five sisters, Nora Jane Picture of Harlem, Ga., Becky Lawton of Plum Branch, Vivian Sprouse of Edgefield, Margaret Elgin of Saluda and Ethel Crawford of Trenton; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Sunday at Edgefield Church of God, conducted by the Rev. Steve Chrisco and the Rev. Tim Taylor. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Edgefield.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. The family is at the home.

Bud Rowland Jr.
KINGSPORT, TENN. — V.P. “Bud” Rowland Jr., 69, of 106 Neeley Place, Blountville, Tenn. passed away Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was the retired owner of Petroleum Products, an Amoco distributor for five South Carolina counties. He was a member of Blountville Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are twin sons, Brent and Bayne Rowland, both of Greenwood; a daughter, Paige Rowland of Los Angeles, Calif.; his mother, Louise M. Rowland of Kingsport; and a brother, Sam Rowland of Reynolds, Ga. Services are at 1 on Sunday at Blountville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Everett officiating. Burial is in Blountville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Blountville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 824, Blountville, Tenn.

Lindburg Stevens
SALUDA — Lindburg Stevens, 71, of 20 Lindburg Drive, husband of Lillie Mae Dobbs Stevens, passed away March 9, 2001, at Edgefield County Hospital.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Butler and Sons Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Doretta T. Anthony
LAKELAND, Fla. — Doretta Thompkins Anthony, widow of Willie Anthony Sr., passed away Feb. 27, 2001.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Thompkins and Edna Thompkins. She attended public schools in Greenwood.
Survivors include three sons, Willie Anthony Jr. of Lakeland, Fla., Maxie R. Anthony of Winter Haven, Fla. and Horace B. Anthony of Arlington, Va.; three daughters, Greta D. Wright of Brooklyn, N.Y., Shirley Anthony of Columbia, Md. and Eula Dixon of Lakeland, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial was in Lakeland, Fla.

Julius Logan Jr.
GREENWOOD — Julius “Tom” Logan Jr., of 202 Crawford Ave., passed away March 9, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Julius Logan Sr. and the late Annie Lee Parks Logan. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Coronaca. He was a 1969 graduate of Brewer High School and formerly employed with Standard at Solutia and Chickasaw Processing Co.
Survivors include five sons, Tony Jackson, Tyrone Jackson, Julius Andrews and Keldrick Andrews, all of Greenwood and Randy Williams of Anderson; a daughter, Stephanie Jackson of Greenwood; seven brothers, Terry Glenn Logan, Rufus Lee Logan, Mark Anthony Logan and Tony Bernard Logan, all of Greenwood, Herman Keith Logan and Jan Kendall Logan, both of Anderson and Dennis Ray Logan of Camilla, Ga.; a sister, Helen Anita Logan of Greenwood; and nine grandchildren.
The family is at the home, 202 Crawford Ave., and at the home of his father, 340 Cokesbury Road.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., which is in charge.

BJ Malone
WARE SHOALS — Bobby Joe Malone, husband of Peggy Malone, passed away March 9, 2001 in Sanford, Fla., after a long illness.
He was a son of the late Garl C. and Mackie Blackwell Malone of Ware Shoals.
Survivors include his wife of Sanford, Fla.; two daughters, Angie M. Hunt of Greenwood and Chaney M. Wilson of Abbeville; three brothers, James Malone and Haskell Malone, both of Ware Shoals and Jack Malone of Greer; three sisters, Edna O’Neal of Cleveland, Tenn., Billie Sue Fleming of Mosely, Va. and Nancy Emerson of Lincolnton, N.C.; and five grandsons.
Services will be at 2 Tuesday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Chris Johnson. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 7-9 Monday at the funeral home. Parker-White Funeral Home is in charge.
