Rosa Lee Cunningham
DONALDS — Rosa Lee Cunningham, 82, of 822 Mount Lebanon Road, passed away May 8, 2001, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Born in Due West, she was a daughter of the late Bazzie and Lula Mae Cunningham. She was a retired teacher and a member of Springfield Baptist Church, Level Land Community. She was also a member of AKA Sorority, Clemson Extension Homemakers Club, NEA, S.C. Education Association and the Family Community Leaders.
Survivors include a sister, Azzie Lee Cunningham Redford of Columbia.
Services will be at 1 Saturday at Springfield Baptist Church, Level Land, with burial in Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood.
Pallbearers are deacons and trustees of the church.
Flower bearers are members of Iota Upsilon Omega Chapter of AKA Sorority.
Visitation will be from 12-1 Saturday at the church.
Parks Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge.

Jaunita Reames
GREENWOOD — Helen Jaunita Reames, 78, of 201 Herin Drive, passed away May 10, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard E. and Louise Mayson Reames. She graduated from Edgefield High School, attended Greenwood Hospital School of Nursing and Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, and retired from Greenwood Packing Plant in 1992. A member of Tranquil United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Clark Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Services will be at 5 Saturday at Blyth Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Chuck Compton, Derick Lawson, Mike Parker, Bill Reames, Tom Reames, Cliff Tabor and Gerald Rauton.
Visitation is from 4-5 Saturday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Alma Langley and Tootsie Lawson, 111 Kaye Drive.
Memorials may be made to Tranquil United Methodist Church, 1702 McCormick Highway, Greenwood, S.C. 29646.
Blyth Funeral Home is in charge.

Catherine Smith Sandlin
LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. — Catherine Smith Sandlin, 45, wife of Charles Sandlin, passed away May 5, 2001, at St. Clare’s Hospital.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Ina Smith and Marvin Richardson Sr. She was a member of Lockhart Baptist Church and Saluda High School Class of 1975 and a retired bank teller of The Bank of New York.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Calvin Smith of Long Island City; a daughter, Jessica Sandlin of Long Island City; a stepson, Curtis Sandlin of Jamaica, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Carol Sandlin of Alexander City, Ala.; five brothers, Walter Smith, Johnny Smith, Willie Smith and Sammie Smith, all of Saluda and Henry B. Gray of Hempstead, N.Y.; seven sisters, Mamie Lott, Edna Smith, Brenda D. Smith and Carol Smith, all of Saluda, Mamie Mason and May E. Wallace, both of St. Albany, N.Y., and Hattie M. Hill of Washington , D.C.
Services will be at 1 Saturday at Lockhart Baptist Church, Saluda, conducted by the Rev. Raymond Adams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Flower bearers are classmates and friends.
The family is at the home of a sister, Carol Smith, Route 3, Box 133, Saluda.
Butler & Sons Funeral Home, Saluda, is in charge.

Fannie Chapman Witt
GREENWOOD — Fannie Chapman Witt, 86, passed away May 10, 2001, at Magnolia Manor.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Carole Smiley, Pinetree Apartments, 114-H.
Services will be announced by Butler & Sons Funeral Home, Saluda, which is in charge.

Joseph W. Gillespie
WARE SHOALS — Joseph Wesley Gillespie, 91, widower of Sarah Jane Wilson Gillespie, passed away May 11, 2001, at Stonebridge House Assisted Living in Concord, N.C.
Born in Pickens, he was a son of the late Robert S. and Alice Gilstrap Gillespie. He retired from Riegel Textile Corp. and was a member of First Baptist Church, Cornelius, N.C.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Shirley) Couch of Davidson, N.C.; a brother, Charles R. Gillespie of Decatur, Ga.; two sisters, Ruby O’Kelley of Nicholson, Ga., and Jessie Finch of Dothan, Ala.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 3 Monday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 1:30-2:30 Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation or Stonebridge House Assisted Living, 2339 O’Dell Road, Concord, N.C. 28025.

Ora C. Stuckey
GREENWOOD — Ora Craig Stuckey, 89, resident of EdenGardens, widow of the late W. DuBose Stuckey, passed away Friday, May 11, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Connie Taylor Adams
GREENWOOD — Connie Taylor Adams, 81, widow of Martin H. Adams, passed away May 12, 2001.
Born in Gilbert, she was a daughter of the late Emanuel M. Taylor Sr. and Ida Kyzer Taylor. She was retired from Moore Business Forms. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in Sunday School, Women’s Circle, Bible Study and volunteering in many ways. She worked with Meals on Wheels as a driver for 15 years and was active in the Greenwood Chapter of AARP.
Survivors include her sister, Lorene Taylor Price of Mims, Fla., and a sister-in-law, Lorine Taylor Sharpe of West Columbia.
Memorial services will be at 3 Monday at First Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. John Wall. A private burial will be at Boiling Springs Church in Lexington at a later date.
Visitation will be followed after the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 108 Cambridge Ave., Greenwood, SC 29649 or a charity of one’s choice.

Mike Banks
Larry LeMichael 'Mike' Banks, 33, formerly of Greenwood and Greenville, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2001 in Salisbury, NC.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of James Henry Cobb and the late Effie Leona Spivey Cobb. He attended Furman Univer-sity and graduated from Emory University. He was preceded in death by his natural mother, Glenda Faye Cobb and a brother, Tony Cobb.
Surviving is his father of Greenwood; two sisters, Tammy Allen of Simpsonville and Tonya Harrison of Greenwood; and four brothers, Melvin Banks of Elgin, David Cobb, Donald Cobb, and Jamie Cobb, all of Greenwood; 17 nieces and nephews; and one great nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Harrison officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
The family is at the home of his father, Henry Cobb, 108 Segers Drive, Greenwood. Harley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Duvall
GREENWOOD — Marie Poore Duvall, 84, of 101 Anita Way, widow of Willie Fred Duvall, passed away May 12, 2001, at Magnolia Manor.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Syble V. McCall
GRAY COURT — Syble Virginia McCall, 74, of 695 Cook Road, Gray Court, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lucious W. Stone and Ermie Saxon Stone, and the wife of the late Heyward R. McCall.
She was retired from Mackey Vending for several years. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Fellowship Sunday School Class. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Darryl (Lee) Hampton of Greenwood; Mrs. Steve (Ermie) Holt of Gray Court, and Ms. Kim Whitt of Travelers Rest. Six grandchildren- Ashley and Brantlee Hampton, Steve and Shawn Holt, Nicole and Joshua Whitt. Three great-grandchildren, Palmer and Rebekah Holt, Trey Hampton.
Visitation will be held Monday at Cannon Funeral Home, prior to the graveside service, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family is at 695 Cook Rd. Gray Court.

Ora Stuckey
GREENWOOD — Ora Craig Stuckey, 89, of Eden Gardens, widow of W. DuBose Stuckey, passed away May 11, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Niles Alexander and Molly Hunter Craig. She was a graduate of Agnes Scott College, Decatur, and received her masters degree in Library Science from Emory University, Atlanta. She worked with the Greenwood County Library and also served on the Board of Trustees of the library. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
Survivors include two sons, Craig Stuckey of Greenwood and John D. Stuckey of Niceville, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be at 11 Monday at the Old Fields Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Peter W. Hawes.
Visitation will be from 4-6 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church Children’s Home in York.

Shirley Stevenson Vinson
LAURENS — Shirley Stevenson Vinson, 44, wife of Kenneth L. Vinson, passed away May 11, 2001, in Chesapeake, Va.
Born in Clinton, she was a daughter of William E. and Barbara V. Stevenson. She was a former employee of Whitten Center and a former member of the Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Fort Worth, Texas ; two sons, Earl Alvis Sanders IV and Henry Clay Sanders, both of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Barbara Nicole Sanders of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Rodney Stevenson of Gray Court, William Joseph Stevenson and Timothy Keith Stevenson, both of Laurens; two sisters, Billie Sue Matthews of Norfork, Va. and Janice S. Garrett of Owings; and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 Wednesday at the Warrior Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-9 Tuesday at Gray Funeral Home, Laurens.
The family will be at the home of her parents, William and Barbara Stevenson, 1352 Sandy Springs Road, Laurens.

Fannie Chapman Witt
GREENWOOD — Fannie Chapman Witt, 86, widow of John L. Witt, passed away May 10, 2001, at Magnolia Manor.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Carrie Bell Abney Chapman. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Saluda and was a retired domestic worker.
Survivors include her daughter, Carole Smiley of Greenwood; two sons, Robert Norris of Maryland, and Marvin E. Witt of Columbia; three sisters, Arietta Watson and Lydia M. Brown, both of Saluda and Lynease Chapman of Philadelphia, Pa.; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. James Kay, Raymond Adams and Clarence Kenner. Burial will in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
Flower bearers will be nieces and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at Butler and Sons Funeral Home, Saluda.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Carole Smiley, Pine Tree Apartments 114H, Greenwood.

Woodrow Davis
GREENWOOD — Woodrow Wilson Davis, 79, of 109 Colonial Drive, husband of Evelyn Carr Davis, passed away May 14, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Naylor, Ga., he was a son of the late Willie and Floy Davis Davis. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired customer service supervisor of Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works. A member of Laurel Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class, he was also a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge 91 A.F.M. and American Legion Post 20.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a brother, Lloyd S. Davis of Greenwood; and four sisters, Velma Smith, Grace Tomlinson, Rusha Davis and Esther Smith, all of Homerville, Ga.
Graveside services will be at 2 Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Rooks.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home in Belle Meade.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Columbia Office, P.O. Box 6604, Columbia, S.C. 29260.
