GREENWOOD — Clara Pruitt Maye, formerly of 312 Azalea Drive, widow of William Allen Maye, passed away May 16, 2001, at Wesley Commons.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Scott, 950 Sunset Drive.
Visitation is at Blyth Funeral Home from 7-8 Thursday night.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Viola Aull Rikard
LEESVILLE — Viola Aull Rikard, 77, of Rikard Road, wife of the Rev. Enos C. Rikard, passed away May 14, 2001.
Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Georgie Moore Aull. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Women’s Ministry.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Hubert Rikard and the Rev. Faron Rikard, both of Batesburg-Leesville; two daughters, Virginia Freeland of Saluda and Brenda Di-Sasio of Simpsonville; a brother, Parks Aull of Leesville; two sisters, Betty Kirkland and Georgie Nichols, both of Leesville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 5 Thursday at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Ray Massey, Tommy Estill and Roger Phillips. Burial will be in Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Shawn Gillian, Clayton Rikard, Todd Rikard, Jason Rikard, Wesley Rikard and Joshua Allen. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Adult Sunday School Class of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, Pentecostal Holiness Church Road, Leesville, S.C. 29070.

Larry Strickland
ABBEVILLE — Larry Dale Strickland, 53, of 101 Abbeville Arms, formerly of Calhoun Falls, passed away May 14, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta.
Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son of the late Dewitt Strickland Sr. and Mildred Todd Strickland. He was a card room comber in the textile industry and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Timms Bowie, of Abbeville; two daughters, Stacey Long of Washington , Ga., and Deidra Strickland of Tignall, Ga.; two brothers, Dewitt Strickland Jr. of Calhoun Falls and Donnie Strickland of Donalds; a sister, Connie Bearden of Elberton, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 3 today in Latimer Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Johnson.
Pallbearers are Larry Lester, Joey Bowie, Russell Rosser, Donnie Strickland Jr., Jackie Timms and Cory Gable.
Visitation is from 1-3 today at Calhoun Falls Funeral Home.
Calhoun Falls Funeral Home is in charge.

John ‘Ed’ Thompson
GREENWOOD — Services for John Edward “Ed” Thompson, of 406 Green St., are at noon Thursday at Robinson & Son Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. James McKee, pastor of Dunham Temple C.M.E. Church. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are friends of the family.
The family is at the home.

Frances Tolbert
STEDMAN, N.C. — Frances Lee Scott Tolbert, 80, formerly of Greenwood, S.C., passed away May 14, 2001.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Scott Tolbert of Stedman, Dale Tolbert of Littleton, Colo., and Morgan Tolbert of Denton, Texas ; a sister, Peggy Watkins of Highland; a brother, J.D. Scott of McCormick, S.C.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are at 5 today at Stedman Baptist Church, with the Rev. Phillip Spears officiating.
Burial is at 2 Thursday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Greenwood.
Memorials may be made to Stedman Baptist Church, Highway 24, Stedman, N.C. 28391.

WARE SHOALS — Scott Lowell Yochem, 32, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Yochem, passed away May 16, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood, which is in charge.

Marvin ‘Scrawney’ Ashley
WARE SHOALS — Marvin “Scrawney” Ashley, 79, of 6 N. Greenwood Ave., husband of Gloria Dodgens Ashley, passed away May 16, 2001, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Joe and Mirtha Moore Ashley. He served in the Army during World War II, attended the Church of God and retired from Riegel Textile Corp. He was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Marvin Lee Ashley of the home; a daughter, Jackie Evans of Greenwood; five sisters, Marie Humbert, Joyce Medlin, Barbara McIntyre, and Ervine Haynes, all of Ware Shoals and Lula Mae Roper of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1 Friday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Gene Land and Mark Kennedy. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are James Boggs, Phillip C. Davis, Ken Burton, Furman Page, Keith O’Dell and Boots Henderson. Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Parker-White Funeral Home is in charge.

Wilson Dorn
GREENWOOD — Thomas Wilson Dorn, 40, of 230 E. Cambridge Ave., Apt. 312, passed away May 16, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Louise Smallwood Dorn and the late Marvin Wilson Dorn. He was a florist and interior decorator and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; a daughter, April Dorn of Texas ; four sisters, Katie Smith, Deborah Dorn and Cathy Hasting, all of Greenwood and Marvelle Reeves of Aiken; seven brothers, Marty Dorn, Marlon Dorn, Julian Dorn, Tony Hasting and Jerry Dorn, all of Greenwood, Carol Dorn of Saluda and Franklin Dorn of Tennessee.
Services are at 5 Friday at Harley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Timothy Thompson officiating. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Doug Livernois, Stan Mitchell, Marty Dorn, Julian Dorn, Marlon Dorn, Lamar Price and John Price.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Clara Maye
GREENWOOD — Clara Pruitt Maye, formerly of 312 Azalea Drive, widow of William Allen Maye, passed away May 16, 2001, at Wesley Commons.
Born in Clinton, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Felicie Godshall Pruitt. She was a member of North Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Sylvia) Goff and Mrs. W.O. (Sondra) Scott, both of Greenwood; a sister, Doris N. Cox of Greenwood; a brother, B. F. Pruitt of Eustis, Fla.; a stepbrother, James Butler of Johnston; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Friday at Blyth Funeral Home, with Dr. Jeff Lethco and Allen W. Goff officiating. Entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Honorary escorts are the staff, employees and residents of Eden Gardens.
Visitation is at Blyth Funeral Home from 7-8 tonight.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sondra Scott, 950 Sunset Drive.

WARE SHOALS — Scott Lowell Yochem, 32, of 26 Green Acres Blvd., passed away May 16, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Born in Tampa, Fla., he was a son of Larry D. and Betty Goldman Yochem. He was an employee of Northland Cable TV Co. and a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his parents of Greenwood; a daughter, Megan Yochem of Greenwood; his fiancée and her daughter of the home, Helen Babb and Cassie Babb; a sister, Amy Yochem of Greenwood; maternal grandparents, Quinn and Ruth Ouzts Goldman of Greenwood; and paternal grandparents, Harry and Ruth Summer Yochem of Greenwood.
Services are at 5 Saturday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Bob Allen. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Ken Harbin, Keith Harbin, Kenny Harbin, Marcus Moeller, Tom Jenks and Brian Babb.
Honorary escorts are the staff members of Self Memorial Hospital Transitional Care Unit.

Cornelia Hill Henderson
GREENWOOD — Services for Cornelia Hill Henderson, formerly of Pineridge Apartments, are at 2 Monday at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Brown, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Raymond Adams. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Flower bearers are nieces.
Visitation is Sunday evening at the home of Sheila Dendy, 947 Riverfork Road, Waterloo, and the home of Lisa Hunt, 303-B New York Court, Greenwood.

Willie Jenkins Holt
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Mrs. Willie Jenkins Holt, 84, of 78 Sun Bridge Drive, passed away May 18, 2001, in Cartersville.
Born in Jefferson County, Ala., she was a daughter of the late William and Mattie Chitwood Jenkins. She was a homemaker and attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include five sons, Jackie Ray Earwood, Danny Earwood and Larry Earwood, all of Dalton, Harry Earwood of Ninety Six, S.C., and Ellis Earwood of Resaca; three daughters, Helen Adcock of Adairsville, Nell Mathis of Cartersville and Pat Prater of Homosassa, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Holcomb of Cartersville; a stepsister, Elmer Satterfield of Cartersville; 39 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Sunday at Bernhardt Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. David Blackburn.
Burial is in Scrougetown Church Cemetery.
Visitation is after 4 today at the funeral home.
