GREENWOOD — Carole Ann Wood, 65, of 2606 McCormick Highway, widow of Donald Bayless, passed away May 23, 2001, at National Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late James Harold and Mildred Marie Westervelt Wood. Formerly of Atlanta and Westminster, she retired from Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta and attended the Presbyterian Church in Westminster.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Bayless Ray of Abbeville and Gail Marie Bayless of Herndon, Va.; and a grandson.
Memorial services are at 2 today at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville, conducted by the Rev. George Bush.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1741, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Donna Ray, 91 New South Road, Abbeville.
Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville, is in charge.

Mary ‘Miss Tutt’ Kelly
ABBEVILLE — Mary Chiles “Miss Tutt” Kelly, of 104 Carver Apartments, Branch Street, passed away May 24, 2001 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late George and Louise Giles Chiles. She was a homemaker and a member of Milway Baptist Church in Troy.
Survivors include three daughters, Precious Hill and Mrs. George (Bertha) Morton, both of Abbeville and Evangelist Diane Chiles of the home; a grandson reared in the home, Johnny Eugene Chiles of Abbeville; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Paul Lawrence
GREENWOOD — Paul Junior Lawrence, 66, of 112 Bonanza Drive, husband of Mary Young Lawrence, passed away May 25, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta. Born in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Arden Lawson and Bertha Lawrence Little. He was a retired barber and an Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons, Richard Lawrence, Ronald Lawrence and Tony Lawrence, all of Greenwood and Randall Lawrence of Waterloo; a daughter, Susan L. Brown of Cross Hill; a brother, Billy Lawson of Simpsonville; and four grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Sunday at Harley Funeral Home, conduced by the Rev. Laurin Young. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.B Pallbearers are sons, and grandsons, Joseph Bryan and Jeremy Schultz.
Honorary escorts are fellow barbers.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Autism Program, Greenwood Genetic Center, One Gregor Mendel Circle, Greenwood, S.C. 29646 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Myrtle Marie Mann
GREENWOOD — Myrtle Marie “Auntie” Grey Mann, 74, of 219 Alpine Way, widow of Leroy Mann, passed away May 24, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Clementine Harris Grey. She retired as a nursing assistant and was a seamstress for the Masonic lodges. She was a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church in New York.
Survivors include a son, Cornell B. Mann of Greenwood; a sister, Gladys L. Thompson of Anniston, Ala.; and a grandson of the home, Raphael Mann.
Services are at 4 today at Robinson & Son Mortuary conducted by the Rev. Joseph Caldwell. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are friends of the family.
Flower bearers are great-nieces and friends.
Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc. is in charge.

Gladys Martin
TROY — Services for Gladys Martin, of Route 1, Box 30, Highway 28 South, are at 2 Sunday at St. Goodwill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. John F. Williams. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are nephews and nieces.
The family is at the home of a sister, Mrs. Earl (Eunice) Jackson, Route 1, Highway 28 South, Troy.

Ann Loftis
ABBEVILLE — Ann Miner Loftis, 66, of 3764 Hwy. 72 West, wife of James Pete Loftis, passed away May 25, 2001, at her home.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Dudley and Gladys Bowick Miner. She was a self-employed beautician, very active with The Heritage House in Abbeville, member and past president of the Creative Garden Club. She was also a member of the Belmont Bridge Club.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a brother, Thomas Miner of Greenwood; five sisters, Josephine Wash of Greenwood, EmaJane Boazman of Inman, Brenda Baston of Augusta, Ga., Gwen Moss of Greer and Caroline Cannady of Calhoun Falls.
Services will be at 3 Monday at the Harris Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Revs. Lawrence Johnson and Virgil Manning. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville.
Visitation is from 2-3 Monday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation or to the Greenwood Humane Society. Harris Funeral Home is in charge.

Flo Hill Quillian
ROCK HILL — Flo Hill, 78, resident of Alterra Sterling House, widow of Asbury W. “Bill” Quillian III, passed away May 25, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Born in Morristown, Tenn., she was the daughter of Edward Y. and Ida Bewley Hill.
Survivors include her son, Asbury W. Quillian IV of Richmond, Va.; three daughters, Lee Q. Miller and Kathryn “Kay” Cooper of Rock Hill and Ann Q. Davis of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 3 Saturday at Jarnagin Cemetery, Morristown, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 7-9 Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of York County, 325 S. Oakland Ave. Rock Hill, SC 29732. Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, is in charge.

Dorothy Rickenbaker
NEWNAN, Ga. — Dorothy Rickenbaker, 77, of 3900 Smokey Road, wife of N.E. Rickenbaker Sr., passed away May 25, 2001, at Pointe Magnolia.
Born in Pine Bluff, Ark., she was a homemaker and a member of Unity Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Nick E. Rickenbaker of Newnan; two daughters, Patricia Ann Williams of Greenwood and Mary Margaret Rickenbaker of Newnan; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 today at McKoon Funeral Home, conducted by Danny Wilson and the Reverend Bill Dean. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Sam Bowers, Wayne Courtney, Hayward Evans, Willie Kline, Garrett Rickenbaker, Michael Rickenbaker and Nicholas Rickenbaker.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Dorcas Sunday School Class and the O’Dell Sunday School Class.

Emma Murdock Wiles
HONEA PATH — Emma Murdock Wiles, 90, widow of William C. “Bill” Wiles, passed away May 26, 2001, at the Presbyterian Home in Clinton.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Steve G. and Lessie McMahan Murdock. She was a resident of Honea Path for 73 years and a member of the Honea Path Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Josephine W. Johnson of Clemson and Jane Ellen W. Dreher of Grafton, Va.; a sister, Hazel M. Hanks of Anderson; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 Monday at the Honea Path Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Tom Sherer and Dr. Booker Bagby.
Visitation will be immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Honea Path Presbyterian Church, 106 Church Street, Honea Path, S.C. 29654; Presbyterian Home of S.C., corporate office, P.O. Mattie Mae Fisher
GREENWOOD — Mattie Mae Fuller Fisher, 48, of 402 Whitehall Road, wife of Charles Fisher, passed away May 2, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter the late Lewis “Fox” Fuller Sr. and Edith Lites and a stepdaughter of the late Samuel D. Lites. She was a charge nurse with Laurens County Dialysis and a 1970 graduate of Brewer High School. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where she was a member of the gospel chorus and Missionary Society, a deaconess, head of the Congregational Nurses and a former Sunday School secretary. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Electa Chapter No. 310. Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Charles Winston Fisher of the home; a daughter, Yolande Renee Fisher of Greenwood; two brothers, Charlie Fuller of Promised Land and Lewis Fuller of Columbia; a sister, Elizabeth Fuller of Greenwood; and two grandchildren. The family is at the home. Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., which is in charge.

Mahulda Woolridge Mims
GREENWOOD — Services for Mahulda Reynolds Woolridge Mims, of 128 S. University St., will be at 3 Friday at Weston Chapel A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. Willie Neal Norman Jr., assisted by the Revs. Jonas Walker, Patricia S. Tolbert and Anthony McCallum and Bishop Emanuel Spearman. Burial will be in Evening Star Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Pallbearers are grandsons, great-grandsons and friends of the family. Flower bearers are Jackie Williams, Nancy Walker, Elizabeth Holloway, Alberta Wilson, Sarah Ouzts, Martha Nedwards and Mildred Walker. Mrs. Mims passed away April 30, 2001. She was first married to the late Edward Woolridge and second to the late Wesley Mims. Visitation is at the home. Parks Funeral Home is in charge.

Louise Cadden Cardin
AUGUSTA — Louise Cadden Cardin, former resident of Peabody Apartments, wife of the late Lawrence Cardin, passed away May 29, 2001.
Born in Augusta, Ga., she was a member of New Hope Church of God in Martinez, Ga., where she sang in the church choir.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Dixon Helms of Beech Island, S.C.; two sisters, James Cadden and Margaret Barton, both of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 Friday at the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Rich Bowen. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 7-9 Thursday at the funeral home.
Friends may call the residence of her daughter at 2259 Storm Branch Road, Beech Island.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice.

George F. Davis
ABBEVILLE — George Floyd Davis, 84, of 201 Wardlaw St., husband of Luevenia Williams Davis, passed away May 30, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
