Fred G. Timmerman
EDGEFIELD — Fred Graham Timmerman, 87, widower of Louise Langley Timmerman, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James Robert and Corrie Johnson Timmerman. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Edgefield.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Neal (Judy) Bates of Greenwood; a sister, Mrs. Wyba Stewart of Ninety Six; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 3:30 Tuesday at Mountain Creek Baptist Church near Kirksey, conducted by Dr. Tony Hopkins. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Painter, Travis Smith, Billy Prince, Raymond Jordan, Teddy N. Jordan, Robert Timmerman, Robert E. “Bobby” Templeton, Bill Adams, Tony Adams and James Ferqueron.
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bates, 314 Fairway Lakes Road, Hunters Creek.
Visitation is from 2:30-3:30 Tuesday at Mountain Creek Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Edgefield, P.O. Box 624, Edgefield, S.C. 29824 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Horace ‘Jack’ Coleman
SALUDA — Horace “Jack” Coleman, 84, of 139 Graham St., widower of Lizzie Simpkins Coleman, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at his home.
Born in Saluda, he was a son of the late Alice Coleman and Hardy Bouknight. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a retired construction worker.
Survivors include eight sons, Jack Coleman Jr., Heyward Coleman, Norman Coleman and Michael Coleman, all of Saluda, James E. Coleman of Batesburg, Donnie Coleman of Aiken, Larry Coleman of North Augusta and Charles Coleman of Rock Hill; five daughters, Ethel Werts of Roslyn Heights, N.Y., Alnita Coats and Lisa Coleman, both of North Augusta, Deadria D. Coleman of Saluda and Debra McClurkin of Newberry; a brother, Nathan Bouknight of Johnston; a sister, Louise Stevens of Greenwood; 47 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Thursday at Rock Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Kimberly Martin. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are grandsons, and flower bearers are granddaughters.
The family is at the home.

Curtis Harden Hall
MACON, Ga. — Curtis Harden Hall, 83, died Monday, March 4, 2002.
Born in Laurens County, Ga., he was a son of the late Gordon Lawrence and Ester Harden Hall. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe and receiving the Purple Heart. He retired as a training consultant for American Life Insurance Co. and moved to Greenwood, S.C., where he and his wife served as house parents at Connie Maxwell Baptist Children’s Home. Moving back to Macon in 1984, he served as host and tour director at the Cannonball House for ten years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Joyful Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Addis Burch Hall of Macon; two sons, Gordon L. Hall Sr. and Michael J. Hall Sr., both of Macon; a brother, L.F. Hall of Macon; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hart’s Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Bob Setzer and the Rev. Ben Taylor. Burial is in Macon Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 5-7 tonight at the mortuary.
The family is at the home of Mike Hall, 3331 Osborne Place.

Raymond Harrison
GREENWOOD — Raymond Harrison, 53, of 1504 W. Deadfall Road, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Mandy H. Harrison and the late Floyd Harrison Sr. He was a truck driver for Senn Trucking Co., Edgefield, a 1968 graduate of Edgewood High School, Ninety Six and an Army Vietnam War veteran. A member of Springfield Baptist Church, Edgefield, and the church Brotherhood, he was affiliated with the Disabled American Veterans and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; a son, Travis Carter of Las Vegas; two brothers, Floyd Harrison Jr. and James F. Harrison, both of Greenwood; seven sisters, Martha Cleveland of Greenwood and Carrie Palmer, Viola Privette, Cora Robinson, Florence Dunham, Mandy Harris and Jessie Moore, all of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a sister, Martha Cleveland, 115 Oxnard Court, Raintree Subdivision, and at the home of a brother, James Harrison, 206 Sullivan St.
Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc. is in charge.

James Moragne
GREENWOOD — Graveside services for James Thomas Moragne, of 459 Vaughn St., will be at 2 Wednesday in Evening Star Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Gill Harper.
Visitation is this evening at the home.
Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home is in charge.

William Cole Moss
WHITMIRE — William “Bill” Cole Moss, 72, of 53 McDonald St., widower of Linda Rivas Moss, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Rock Hill, he was a son of the late Alva Frank Moss Sr. and Annie Laura Potts Moss. He retired from the textile industry and was a World War II Navy veteran, a volunteer fireman with Whitmire Fire Department and a member of Roseboro Masonic Lodge No. 195 and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his first wife, Collen Lawson Moss of Cross Hill; two sons, Terry Moss and David “Red” Moss, both of Cross Hill; two stepsons, W. Waldy Rivas of Rock Hill and Wesley Oliver Rivas of Newberry; two daughters, Billy Jean “B.J.” Stribble and Sherry Moss Cowan, both of Chappells; a brother, Harry Moss of Whitmire; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Wednesday at Gray Funeral Home, with burial in Whitmire Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Sherry M. Cowan, 20 Holloway Cove, Chappells.

Louise Spearman
COLUMBIA — Services for Louise Spearman, formerly of 213 Jacob St., are at 1 Thursday at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, Greenwood, with the Rev. Jonathan Green officiating and the Rev. Keith O’Banner Sr. presiding. Assisting are the Revs. Raymond Adams and Norris Turner. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens, Greenwood.
Pallbearers are Robert Lewis McClinton, Michael McClinton, Robert Watson, Wilbert Edwards and William Henry Watson.
Flower bearers are members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.
The family is at the home of a sister, Lillie Mae McClinton, 1317 Florida Ave., Greenwood.

Curtis Tinsley
WARE SHOALS — Franklin Curtis Tinsley, 78, of 9 Hampton Ave., husband of Eva Wells Tinsley, died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Frank and Leila Shirley Tinsley. He retired from Riegel Textile Corp. and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Brenda Trammell of Clinton; a brother, Bobby Tinsley of Honea Path; a sister, Grace Ashley of Ware Shoals; two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Services are at 2 Wednesday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John Phillips and the Rev. Mike Causey. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is tonight at the funeral home from 7-9.
The family is at the home.

Martha Ashley
DUE WEST — Martha Nickles Ashley, of 1160 Lindsey Cemetery Road, widow of Howard R. Ashley, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late David Aiken and Martha Calvert Nickles. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Keowee Baptist Church, and she attended Upper Long Cane Church.
Survivors include a brother, J.L. Nickles, and a sister, Evelyn Nickles, both of Due West.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Mize. Burial is in Keowee Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10-11 Thursday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Kenneth Blair
NINETY SIX — Kenneth Eric Blair, 48, of 109 Leroy Drive, husband of Lorraine Hailey Blair, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in McCormick County, he was a son of James Carroll and Jeanette Luchey Boozer. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1971 and attended South Carolina State University. He was kitchen manager at Burger Palace and a member of Weston Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his wife and parents; a daughter, Krystle Tawann Blair of Spartanburg; a son, Kenneth Eric Blair Jr. of the home; three sisters, Sandra Boozer Greene of Alexandria, Va., Kim Boozer Williams of Columbia and Audrey Boozer of Greenwood; four brothers, Willie Alfred Blair and Reginald Boozer, both of Atlanta, Gregory Carroll of Philadelphia and Larry Blair; and maternal grandmother, Jane Crosson of Chicago.
Services are 3 Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. R.C. Oglesby, pastor. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy L. Mayes, Jesse Jacobs, Jimmy Hill, George Kerhoulas, Hugh Richards and Maceo Hill.
Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Brooks, George Lark, Larry Edwards, Ricky Miller, Chris Alexander and Carl Thompson.
Flower bearers are Alfreda Hill, Emma Mae Gilliam, Eushonda Woods, Vivian Marshall, Sadie Jackson and Edna Nelson.
Honorary escorts are members of Greenwood High School Class of 1971.

William ‘Eddie’ Fix
GREENWOOD — William Edward “Eddie” Fix, 52, formerly of Laurens, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at home.
Born in Laurens, he was a son of Edith T. Fix and the late William Fix. He retired from the Department of Corrections in Greenwood and was a member of Palmetto Masonic Lodge 19 and the First Presbyterian Church of Laurens.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood, formerly of Laurens.
A memorial service will be at 2 Thursday at Gray Funeral Home, Laurens.
Visitation is from 1-2 Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 400 W. Main St., Laurens, S.C. 29360.

Don C. Williams
NINETY SIX — Don C. Williams, 60, of 214 Lowell St., husband of Arlene Karasek Williams, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at his home.
Born in Detroit, he retired from the Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He also retired from Civil Service, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, and was a member of the Calf Pen Hunt Club and Cambridge United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Dan Williams of Marathon, Fla., and David Williams of the home; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Cambridge United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joey McDonald. Burial is in Beaufort National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, for brain tumor research, P.O. Box 1741, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.

Norma Jane Bagwell
WARE SHOALS — Norma Jane Bagwell, 57, of 1381 First Ave., Starr, formerly of Ware Shoals, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Constance Phedonia Devall Bagwell. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Lee Bagwell of Pendleton and a sister, Mrs. Ronnie (Sybil) Lindley of Ware Shoals.
Services are at 4 Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory and the Rev. Ronald O’Dell. Burial is in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Belton. The body will be placed in the church at 3.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Parker White Funeral Home.
The family is at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.

Collie Lee Blackwell
MOUNT CARMEL — Services for Collie Blackwell will be at 2 Monday at Rockford A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. James Louden III and the Rev. Johnnie Waller. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
The family is at the home of a grandson, William Calhoun, Mount Carmel.
