Herman ‘Yogi’ Prince
DONALDS — Jimmy Herman “Yogi” Prince, 62, of 797 Winona Church Road, husband of Nancy Gambrell Prince, died Monday, March 11, 2002.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Jim A. and Enna Elizabeth Gambrell Prince. He was an employee of Beasley’s Garage, Abbeville and a member of Winona Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his stepmother, Helen Prince of Donalds; two sons, Jimmy Herman Prince Jr. of Anderson and Russell Lee Prince of Donalds; three brothers, Freddy Prince of Myrtle Beach, Scottie Prince and Douglas Prince, both of Donalds; and three sisters, Patsy Prince Magaha of Honea Path, Deborah Bradberry of Abbeville and Frances Cowart of Donalds.
Services are at 2 Thursday at Winona Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Jim Dubose, Billy Slatten and Joey Beasley. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Pruitt Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Helen B. Campbell
ABBEVILLE - Helen Baughman Campbell, 79 of 372 old Calhoun Falls Road, widow of W.C. Campbell died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County January 12, 1923 to the late George Ernest, Sr. and Pearl Langley Baughman, she was a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church and the Night Circle of the church.
Surviving are one daughter, Jackie Campbell of the home, two sons and their wives; Jimmy and Candace Campbell of Abbeville and Terry and Patti Campbell of Abbeville and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother; Jack Baughman.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 PM Sunday from Warrenton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. B.E. Petit and Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Warrenton Presbyterian Church, 191 Watts Road, Abbeville, SC 29620.
The body is at Harris Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday. The body will be placed in the church at 3 PM Sunday, The family is at the home.

Nellie D. Lindsey
NINETY SIX - Nellie Davis Lindsey, 87, of 413 Sirrine Street, widow of Gilbert L. Lindsey, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at her home.
Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Rena Smith Davis. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, having worked in the Mathews and Durst Plants and was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class.
Surviving is a daughter, Betty L. Neal of Ninety Six; two grandchildren and their spouses, Pam & Gary Chappell of Pickens and Brian & Jill Neal of Ninety Six; great grandchildren and their spouses, Randy & Amy Myers of Easley, Kevin & Jill Lewis of Pickens, Tyler Neal, Forrest Dove and Sheldon Dove, all of Ninety Six; great great grandchildren, Neal Morgan, Madison Morgan, Brodey Lewis and Kyle Myers.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. G. Thomas Cartledge and the Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
Pallbearers will be Randy Myers, Kevin Lewis, Steve Grant, Fred Neal Jr., Jimmy McCarthy and Harry Friar.
Honorary escort will be the great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her grandson, Brian Neal, 303 Johnston Road, Ninety Six on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family is at the home, 413 Sirrine Street, Ninety Six.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.

Henry Lusk
HONEA PATH — John Henry Lusk, 74, of 4820 Shady Grove Road, husband of Betty Haynes Lusk, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late R.M. and Laura Lollis Lusk. He was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Henry Lusk of Honea Path, Robert Lusk of Donalds and Tony Lusk of Rock Hill; a daughter, Gail Taylor of Spartanburg; a brother, Frank Lusk of Greenwood; and 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Sunday in Eastview Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Benny Walker.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Pruitt Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Maxie Lee Mathis
SALUDA — Maxie Lee Mathis, 64, of 607 Fruit Hill Road, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Hoad and Jessie Abney Mathis.
Survivors include his wife, Hannah M. McKinney of Washington , D.C.; three sons, John Lee Mathis of North Augusta and Ricky Mathis and Wendell Mathis, both of Washington , D.C.; a brother, Matthew Williams of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Ruby Carter of Greenwood and Mary Alice Richardson of Greensboro; and nine grandchildren.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Salem C.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. Doris Hicks. Burial is in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of Mrs. Louise Mathis, 607 Fruit Hill Road.
Butler & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

GREENWOOD — Irene Adams Shoun, 79, of 168 Highland Drive, widow of James Shoun, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at her home.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home.

Grayce Coffey
GREENWOOD — Grayce Herron Coffey, 78, of 122 Limerick Road, widow of Robert Franklin Coffey Jr., died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harold Harvey and Margaret Violet Probert Herron. She formerly lived in Newark, Ohio and Orange City, Fla. She was a high school graduate and a World War II Navy veteran. She formerly owned Sea Way Distributing Co. in Newark, Ohio.
Survivors include a son, Thomas H. Coffey of the home; four sisters, Patricia Meade of San Diego, Janet Hardesty of Hickory, Tenn., Carol Ann Hotzinger of Clairmont, Calif. and K. Poletti of Brandon, Fla.; a brother, James Herron of Port Orchard, Wash.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 11 Thursday in Newark Memorial Gardens, Newark, Ohio.
Blyth Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

William J. Human Sr.
GREENWOOD — William Jones Human Sr., 78, of 316 Hillcrest Farm Road, husband of Margaret Waldrop Human, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Madison County, Ga., he was a son of Leila Gay Parham Human and the late Johnnie Human. He was retired from Duke Power Co. and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Coronaca Masonic Lodge and Rock Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon and member of the Men’s Class.
Survivors include his wife of the home and his mother of Bowman, Ga.; two sons, Barry Human and Bill Human, both of Greenwood; three sisters, Jane Hall of Elberton, Ga. and Carol Brown and Shirley Pearson, both of Royston, Ga.; two brothers, Arnold Human of Greenwood and Seaborn Human of Bowman, Ga.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are at 4 today at Rock Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Bill Quarles. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Warren Mundy, Ray Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, David Morgan, Ronald Rawlings and Robert Hawkins.
Honorary escorts are the men of Rock Presbyterian Church and the members of the Duke Power Retirees Club, along with Bob McCord and Tom George.
Visitation is from 3-4 today at the Rock Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.

LAURENS — Tracy Irby, 32, of 202 Cemetery St., died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of Nellie Latimore Irby and the late Bennie Irby. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Cold Point. She was employed with Fuji Films (“M Plant”) and was a 1987 graduate of Laurens District 55 High School.
Survivors include her mother of Laurens and five sisters, Betty Buck of New York, Mary Latimore of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Karen Irby, Delores Irby and Louise Irby, all of Laurens.
Services are at 2 Monday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Mitchell. Burial is in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of her mother, Nellie L. Irby, 44 Clark St.

Odessa Moss
GREENWOOD — Odessa Moss, 68, of 3610 Cokesbury Road, widow of Homer Moss, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Ada Lee Marshall Berry. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Paryn Wallace of Greenwood; a son, Homer Moss and four grandchildren.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Buddy Adams
SALUDA — Willie Warren “Buddy” Adams Jr., 55, of 348 Barnsmoody Road, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late Willie Warren “Bill” Sr. and Dorothy Belle Counts Adams. He was an equipment operator with James Henry Blesdoe Construction and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rickey (Stephanie) McCary of Saluda; a brother, Terry Adams of Saluda and four sisters, Jackie Charles, Bonnie Morelock, Cora Matthews and Deborah Edwards, all of Saluda.
Graveside services are at 11 Tuesday at Travis Park Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Craig Hughes.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Ramey Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Saluda Nursing Center, P.O. Box 398, Saluda, S.C. 29138.

Lewis James Agnew
GREENWOOD — Services for Lewis James Agnew will be at 2 Tuesday at Piney Grove A.M.E. Church in Hodges, conducted by the Rev. J.J. Robinson. Burial is in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Abbeville County.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are friends of the family.
The family is at the home of his son, James A. Jackson, 651 Percival St.

Willie James Jackson
ABBEVILLE — Willie James Jackson, 59, of 801 West Greenwood St., husband of Earnestine Thomas Jackson, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at his home.
Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was a son of the late Oscar and Mary Jackson. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Abbeville Mills.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Rickey Jackson of Detroit, Fred B. Jackson of Honea Path and Glenn A. Jackson of Abbeville; a daughter, Tamla Jackson of Abbeville; three stepsons, Terry Thomas of Due West, Michael A. Thomas of Abbeville and John Thomas of Anderson; three stepdaughters, Judy M. Thomas, Daphline Thomas and Alhea Thomas, all of Abbeville and 21 grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Rev. William A. Johnson
GREENWOOD — Rev. William Anthony Johnson, 90, of 230 E. Cambridge Ave., Apt. 107, Cambridge Apartments, widower of Verda Lites Johnson, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Salisbury, N.C., he was a son of the late Cicero and Mary Dur Johnson. He was a member of St. Paul FBH Church. He retired as minister of Cleveland Grove FBH Church in Carnesville, Ga. in 2001. He was a greeter at Walmart in Greenwood.
Survivors include 10 daughters, Carmenta “Candy” Johnson and Teleatau Lites of Greenwood, Elizabeth Rumph of Jamaica, N.Y., Carolyn Duncan of Brooklyn, N.Y., Doris Lites of Pittsburgh and Shawana, Deborah, Valeria, Dreana and Sharille Scott, all of Philadelphia; five sons, Henry Johnson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Tommy and Stoney Lites of Greenwood and Victor and Zachary Scott of Philadelphia; 58 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 3 Wednesday at St. Paul FBH Church, conducted by the Rev. Lela Breeze, assisted by the Revs. Aaron, Shipman, Elmore and Moore. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2.
Pallbearers are Jerry Williams, Howard Williams, Lavota Williams, Darrul Williams, Sammie Chappel and Travis Benjamin.
Flower bearers are Doreatha Holloway, Linda Holloway, Leann Green, Debra Johnson, Valeria Smith, Tish Reid and Lisa Williams.
Honorary escorts are Cambridge Apartments and Walmart employees.
Visitation is from 7-8 Tuesday at Parks Funeral Home.
