James H. Jordan
HONEA PATH — James Humphrey Jordan, 88, of 26 Central Ave., widower of Margie Blackwell Jordan, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late William Edgar and Collie Estelle Crawford Jordan. He retired from Durham Life Insurance Co. and Chiquola Manufacturing. He was a member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was twice married, first to the late Helen Louise Hill Jordan.
Survivors include three sons, Morris E. Jordan of Honea Path, Vernon Jordan of Abbeville and Charles Jordan of Spartanburg; a sister, Sudie Jordan Ellison of Greenville; a stepdaughter, Jeane Sewell of Honea Path; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 Saturday at Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Revs. Barry Bryan and Gene Brown. Burial is in Eastview Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4 Cox St., Honea Path, S.C. 29654.

W.D. ‘Bill’ Ramsey
ABBEVILLE — William D. “Bill” Ramsey, 65, of 106 Woodlawn Drive, died Thursday, March 28, 2002, in Augusta.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Kathy Goss, 1008 Highway 172, Colbert, Ga.
Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Services will be announced by Brown’s Funeral Home, Danielsville, Ga.

Mary R. Williams
GREENWOOD — Mary Raffini Williams, 75, of 210 Anita Way, widow of Eugene Williams, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lincolnton, Ga., she was a daughter of the late C.D. and Julie Mae Burton Raffini. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church and the Homebound Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty E. Williams of Greenwood; three sons, Leslie Williams and Danny Williams, both of the home and Julian Williams of Waterloo; three sisters, Doris Hazel of Greenwood, Florence Thurmond of Lincolnton and Sadie Hunt of Washington , Ga.; three brothers, Marshall Raffini of Washington , Ga., Burch Raffini of Columbia and Milton Raffini of Anderson; and a granddaughter.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Hal Lane and the Rev. Frank Thomas.
Honorary escorts are nephews and Billy Peeler and Billy Rush.
The family is at the home.

Rosa Franklin
McCORMICK — Rosa Cunningham Franklin, 100, of 313 Carolina St., widow of Moses Franklin, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in McCormick, she was a daughter of the late Porter and Lona C. Cunningham. She was the oldest member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She was also a member of The Bethany Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Juanita) Jenkins of Greenwood and Rubenia Chamberlain of the home; four sons, Edward (Louise) Franklin of Homestead, Pa., Roosevelt Franklin of Capital Heights, Md., Joe Louis Franklin of Philadelphia and Dr. James Albert (Claire) Franklin of Hephzibah, Ga.; 35 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home, which is in charge.

Chink Moore
GREENWOOD — John Peter “Chink” Moore, 83, of 306 Smythe St., husband of Ruth Ross Moore, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Toombs County, Ga., he was a son of the late Jesse C. and Martha McCuen Moore. He was retired from Abney Mills, Grendel Plant, after 47 years of service. He was a member of Durst Avenue Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Earle (Janice) Davenport of Greenwood; a son, John Dennis Moore of Gray Court; a sister, Tiny M. Rush of Greenwood; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 Monday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Saxon and the Rev. Wallace Purvis. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Gary Moore, Maurice Moore, Ray Moore, W.O. Scott, Wayne Goff, Jimmy Moore, James Daniel Dees and Michael Moore.
Visitation is from 4-6 today at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Earle and Janice Davenport, 406 East Northside Drive.
Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Church of God Home for Children, P.O. Box 430, Mauldin, S.C. 29662.

William Morgan
PLUM BRANCH — William D. “Bill” Morgan, 62, of Route 3, Highway 283, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, in Augusta, Ga.
Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late Evan and Alma Johnson Morgan. He was the owner of Morgan’s Campground. He was formerly an owner of Shell Service Center and a Fire Warden. He was a Navy veteran. He attended Rehoboth Baptist Church, where he was a deacon of the church.
Survivors include a son, David Morgan of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Ginny Morgan of Greenwood and a grandchild.
Services are at 2 Monday at Rehoboth Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Stanley Sprouse. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Strom Funeral Home.
Strom Funeral Home, McCormick, is in charge.

Evelyn Byrd
ABBEVILLE — Evelyn Hill Byrd, 84, formerly of Abbeville, wife of Benjamin F. Byrd, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.
Born in Winder, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Raleigh and Mattie Mahaffey Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Benjamin F. Byrd Jr. of Dallas, Robert W. Byrd of Belleair, Fla., and John B. Byrd of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Byrd of Belleair; a sister, Janell Cook of Atlanta; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Reiny Koschel.
Visitation is after the services at The Belmont Inn Hotel.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

ABBEVILLE — Graveside services for Tristan Lee Childers, infant child of James and Kim Childers, are 2 p.m.
today in Melrose Cemetery, conducted by Chaplain Robbie Robbinson.

Ada T. Haygood
WARE SHOALS — Ada Tinsley Haygood, 86, formerly of Nation Road, widow of Clyde Henry Haygood, died Sunday, March 31, 2002 in Marshall, N.C.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Etta Bishop Tinsley. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Survivors include a son, Charles Haygood of Midlothian, Va.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. today in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Leon Jones.
Parker-White Funeral Home is in charge.

Daisy D. Patterson
GREENWOOD — Daisy Davis Patterson, 87, formerly of 1607 Kateway Drive, widow of George C. Patterson, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at National Health Care Center.
Born in Gainesville, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Gibbs and Mary Anderson Davis. She attended Greenwood Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Douglas Seabolt of Greenwood; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 4:30 p.m. today at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Payne and the Rev. James Weigman. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Richard Weaghington, Raymond Dill, Needham Jones, Ronnie Bentley, Barry Fuller and John Willis.
The family is at the home of Douglas Seabolt, 115 Pope St.

Bill D. Ramsey
ABBEVILLE — William “Bill” Delano Ramsey, 65, of 106 Woodlawn Drive, died Thursday, March 28, 2002.
A native of Asheville, N.C., he was a son of the late William R. and Frances L. Sawyer Ramsey. He retired from Westinghouse Electric and was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, serving from 1955-58. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Kim Johnson of Carlton, Ga., Donna Holland of Greenwood, Kathy Goss of Colbert, Ga., and Selma Davis of Honea Path; a son, Bill Ramsey of Greer; four sisters, Georgia Dover of Asheville, Leila Rector, Eva Glenn, and Selma Ward, all of North Carolina; two brothers, Martin Ramsey and Page Ramsey, both of Florida; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, March 30, at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, Ga., conducted by the Rev. Bill Ramsey. Burial was in Colbert Cemetery in Georgia.
Pallbearers were Tommy Horne, Gary Johnson, Bobby Holland, Larry Goss, Larry Davis, Thomas Boarders, Steven Boarders, Clint Carey and Conrad Carey.
The family is at the home of Kathy Goss, 1008 Highway 172, Colbert, Ga.

Claude London Sr.
ABBEVILLE — Claude London Sr., 70, of 105 Mount Olive Church Road, husband of Mamie London, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late William and Rebecca Johnson London. He retired from Reelco and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife of Abbeville; six sons, Floyd London, Claude London Jr., Robert London and Ron London, all of Abbeville, Richard London of Ellenwood, Ga., and Thomas London of Rex, Ga.; two daughters, Glenda Jones of Abbeville and Gloria Jackson of Greer; six sisters, Cleo Aiken, Eunebell Crawford, Mozell Tucker, Margie Smith and Carrie Hughey, all of Abbeville and Virginia Staton of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a sister, Cleo Aiken, 91 Mount Olive Church Road, and at the home of Mamie London, 109 Virginia Drive.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home.

Owen C. Thompson
GREENWOOD — Owen C. Thompson, 87, of 1325 E. Laurel Ave., widower of Ruby Lee Harvey Thompson, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Samuel J. and Rosalee Cannon Thompson. He was a carpenter and a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, formerly Andrews Chapel.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Noffz and Vera Martin, both of Greenwood; a son, Thomas R. Thompson of Greenville; a brother, Manning Thompson of San Diego; several grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Services are 2 Friday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by Chaplain Tommy Thompson and the Rev. Randy Ouzts. Burial is in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers are Billy Martin Jr., Gene Martin, Brandon Martin, Tim Owens, Ty Goldman and Wayne Noffz.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Vera Martin, 1017 E. Laurel Ave.
Memorials may be made to Piedmont Agency on Aging, P.O. Box 997, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.
