WARRENVILLE — Grace Yelvington Craig, of 156 Baker St., widow of William V. Craig, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002.
Born in Oak Hill, Fla., she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Grace Metts Yelvington. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, Langley, and the Glennis Key Sunday School Class of the church.
Survivors include five daughters, Pat Efird of Graniteville, Jean Futch of Greenwood, Dolly Rearden and Margaret Edmunds, both of Langley and Carol Gibson of Johnston; a son, Walter Craig of Graniteville; two sisters, Dorothy Kinnerman of Winter Haven, Fla., and Irma Davis of Langley; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Services are 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ron Doss and the Rev. Bob Rollins. Burial is in Langley Cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.

Mozelle Dennis
NINETY SIX — Mozelle Nichols Dennis, 99, of 2823 Ninety Six Highway, widow of Leon C. Dennis, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late T.S. and Nettie Lee Shealy Nichols. She graduated from Summerlin College (now Newberry College) and retired from Dennis Dairy, a family owned business in Newberry. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Mattie Hazel Circle of the church and the Star Fort Homemakers Club.
Survivors include two sisters, Miriam N. Burton of Ninety Six and Novice N. Johnson of Greenville.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. today in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, officiated by the Rev. Ben Herlong.
Pallbearers are nephews.
The family is at the home of a sister, Miriam Burton, 2817 Ninety Six Highway.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 301 Cambridge St., Ninety Six, S.C., 29666.

Irvin Leon Franklin
McCORMICK — Irvin Leon Franklin, 49, of 104 Church St., husband of Earnestine Franklin, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at his home.
A son of Dorothy Franklin and the late Joseph Franklin, he attended McCormick County schools and retired from the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Tanya Franklin and Kristy Franklin, both of McCormick; a son, Lamarcus Franklin of McCormick; his mother of McCormick; and a brother, George Franklin of McCormick.
Services will be announced by McCormick Memorial Chapel.

Joaquin ‘Chico’ Pacheco
GREENWOOD — Joaquin Carrion “Chico” Pacheco, 52, of 907 Meadow St., husband of Luz Pacheco, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was a son of Agaripino Carrion and the late Felix Pacheco. He was a former employee of Frank’s Car Wash and Montague’s Restaurant. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of San Juan; a son, Johnny Pacheco of Orlando, Fla.; five sisters, Ida C. Pacheco, Atonia C. Serrano, Maria C. Pacheco and Chiquita Pacheco, all of Puerto Rico and Annette Pacheco of Kissimmee, Fla.; three brothers, Raymond Pacheco of Kissimmee, Koro Pacheco of Puerto Rico and Felix Pacheco of Alabama; and a grandson.
Memorial services are 6 p.m. tonight at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by Father Richard Harris.
The family is at the home of Ruby Johnson, 914 Abney St.

Elsie Rodgers
GREENWOOD - Elsie Harling Rodgers, 83, resident of 121 Borietta Drive, widow of Thomas S. "Tom" Rodgers, died May 27, 2002 at National Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Edgefield County, January 8, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Robert May Sr. and Hattie Faulkner Harling. She was a self employed cosmetologist and retired as a secretary from Self Memorial Hospital.
A member of Laurel Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Learly Sunday School Class, Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. and the Mary Pinkney Chapter #1 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dwight (Thomasine "Tommie") Bowling of Greenwood; two sisters, Erlene Dorn and Annie Clair Balchin, both of Greenwood; two brothers, Faulkner Harling of Greenwood and Robert May Harling, Jr. of Nachitoches, LA; two grandchildren, Emily Rodgers Bowling and Dwight "Wes" Bowling.
Funeral services will be conducted 11AM Thursday at Laurel Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Johnson and Rev. Billy Huff officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Gene Trotter, Wally Dorn, Jack Koontz, Homer Rodgers, Steve McGahee and Mickey Balchin.
Honorary escort will be members of the Learly Sunday School Class.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 10AM Thursday.
The family is at the home on Borietta Drive and will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9PM Wednesday evening.
Memorials may be made to Laurel Baptist Church, 330 Sample Road, Greenwood, SC 29649.

Lois Tiller
ABBEVILLE — Lois Mae Wilson Tiller, 72, of 81 Oakridge St., widow of Charles Ira Tiller, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Selma Corrine Simpson Wilson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Tiller Auten and Mrs. Harry (Nancy Tiller) Mincey, both of Abbeville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Friday at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Blackwell officiating.
Visitation is from 6-8 Thursday at Harris Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Lugenia H. Anderson
PARKSVILLE — Services for Lugenia Hill Anderson are 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Spring Baptist Church, Plum Branch, conducted by the Revs. E.M. Gorgon, James W. Price and Camilla Simpkins. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial is in Mount Lebanon Baptist Cemetery, Parksville.
Pallbearers are Leroy Anderson, Jermaine Anderson, Fate Jennings, Bernard Anderson, Brad Wardlaw and Bobby Garrett.
Granddaughters are flower bearers.
The family is at the home on Old Augusta Road.

Eva Bledsoe
JOHNSTON — Eva Jewell Rodgers Bledsoe, 89, of 1636 Pencreek Road, widow of Joseph Thomas Bledsoe, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at her home.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Tillman and Emma Walton Rodgers. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Monte T. Bledsoe of Johnston; four daughters, Mrs. Claud (Willie) Duval of Columbia, Mrs. Harold (Jewell) Stewart of Ninety Six, Gloria Whitehead of West Columbia and Mrs. Jason (Ruby) Keisler of Johnston; a sister, Annie Powell of Ward; two brothers, Gwen Rodgers of Edgefield and Tillman Rodgers of Johnston; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Friday in Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Martin Willis.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Ramey Funeral Home.

Neil D. Cost
GREENWOOD — Neil Douglas Cost, 78, of 302 Roberts Drive, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Fort Sill, Okla., he was a son of the late Jesse L. and Maggie E. Redburn Cost. He retired from the Army, where he was a decorated war veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean conflict. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service. A master turkey call maker, he recently received the Jean Laney Harris South Carolina Folk Heritage Award for more than 40 years of call-making excellence. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Neil Cost Chapter, the Long Cane Hunt Club and South Main Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Carr Morris of Greenwood and Judy Turner of Aiken; a sister, Ruby Young of Tacoma, Wash., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dave Patterson.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Drive, Columbia, S.C. 29201 or to a charity of one’s choice.

WATERLOO — Willie Mae Davenport Crawford, of Route 1, widow of Charles Wayne Crawford, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at National Health Care of Clinton.
Services will be announced by Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals.

Irvin Leon Franklin
McCORMICK — Services for Irvin Leon Franklin, of 104 Church St., are at 3 Friday at Bethany Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Haskell. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is at the home.

Lillian Harris
WARE SHOALS — Lillian Harris, 96, of 13 Sullivan St., died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Mattie Butler Harris. She was a member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Church, Hodges.
Survivors include a son, Grant Harris of Hodges; a daughter, Minnie Freeman of Ware Shoals; a brother, Thomas Harris of Hodges; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Pine Grove A.M.E. Church, Hodges, conducted by the Rev. J.J. Robinson, assisted by the Rev. Donnie Rice. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Claudy Smith, Wayne Harris, Johnny Conway, Titus Anty, Dwight Anty and Roy Smith.
Flower bearers are members of the church Missionary Society.
Visitation is from 7-8 tonight at Robinson & Son Mortuary.

Lewis H. Smith Jr.
GEORGETOWN — Lewis Hill Smith Jr., 79, husband of Annie Mercer Smith, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Louis Hill Smith and Mary DeLoach Smith. He retired as a finishing plant supervisor at Riegel Textiles, Ware Shoals, and served in the Army infantry. He was a member of First Assembly of God of Greenwood, where he was a former choir director, treasurer and Men’s Fellowship president.
Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; two sons, Lewis Hill Smith III of Andrews and William Douglas Smith of Donalds; a daughter, Phyllis Smith Massey of Georgetown; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God of Georgetown, with burial in the family cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at McKenzie Funeral Home.

Lucy Bell Tolbert
GREENWOOD — Lucy Bell “Sister Payne” Tolbert, 88, of 205 Sycamore Drive, widow of James Tolbert, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton.
Born in Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lena Payne. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Damascus Baptist Church and the Women’s Aide Society No. 85.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include 12 grandchildren, five reared in the home, Anthony Smith of Greenwood, James Smith of Rochester, N.Y., Garrett Smith of Connecticut, Jessie Bryd of Columbia and Lisa Golden of Waterloo; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Second Damascus Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. James McKee. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are family and friends.
Visitation is from 7-8 Friday at the home of a great-granddaughter, Tomeka Wright, 115 Moss Creek Drive.

Beauty D. Williams
NINETY SIX — Services for Beauty Dorothy Morris Williams, formerly of 331 Little Mountain Road, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Springfield Baptist Church, Edgefield, conducted by the Rev. J.W. Price, assisted by the Rev. Nathaniel Langford. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are friends and family members.
Visitation is from 7-8 Friday at the home of a daughter, Susan Davis, 333 Little Mountain Road, Ninety Six.
Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren, three reared in the home, Cornelius C. Williams and Chelsa D. Williams, both of Greenwood and Gregory D. Williams of Seattle; 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
