MYRTLE BEACH — Charles Donald Cameron Jr., 49, of Paul St. in Conway, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Conway Hospital.
Born in Conway, he was a son of the late Charles Donald Cameron and the late Helen Vannoy Goode. He was a 1970 graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and attended the University of South Carolina.
Survivors include his stepmother, Mary Alice Cameron of Myrtle Beach; four sisters, Lillian Candace Cameron Bailey of Rock Hill, Virginia Guy Cameron of Greenwood, Alice J. Cameron of Myrtle Beach and Guy Skipper Cameron Rice of Greenwood; a brother, William Ennis Cameron of Rock Hill and a stepbrother, John Norton McMillan of Florence.
Services are at 2 Monday at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach, conducted by the Rev. Robert Wilkes. Burial is in Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery.
The family is at the home of Mary Alice Cameron, 9328 Cove Drive, Myrtle Beach.

Effie Cartledge-Jones
McCORMICK — Effie Cartledge-Jones, 52, of Route 2 Box 121-K, Highway 378 East, wife of John Henry Jones, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late James Arthur and Marie Seigler. She attended McCormick Public Schools. She was a member of Pleasant Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Debra Seigler of Lexington and Cherrie C. Kennedy of Virginia; a son, David Seigler of Edgefield; four stepchildren, Lamont Jones of Thompson, San Lanedra, Tryonica and Sanchez Jones, all of Lincolnton, Ga.; four sisters, Rose Atta Morton, Allean Gilchrist, Cathlean Kelly and Alice Morgan, all of McCormick and four brothers, Luther, William and James Seigler, all of McCormick and Marion Seigler of Philadelphia.
The family is at the home and at the home of a sister, Cathlean Kelly.
Services will be announced by McCormick Memorial Chapel, which is in charge.

Walter J. Ibell
ABBEVILLE — Walter J. Ibell, 73, of 203 Squire St., husband of Lieselotte Ibell, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Abbeville Memorial Hospital.
Born in East Hartford, Conn., he was a son of the late Walter J. and Carolyn Andre Ibell and lived in Farmington, Conn. until he entered the military service. He was retired from the US Air Force and served during the Korean and Vietnam era and received several decorations and awards. He was a life member of the Air Force Sgts Association, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a member of the Abbeville Presbyterian Church. He owned and operated Piedmont Paint and Decorating in Abbeville for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Doc (Roswitha Maria) Timbrell of Effort, Pa. and Mrs. Mike (Carol) Osterfoss of Spartanburg; a son, William John (Jill) Ibell of Tarpon Springs, Fla. and four grandsons.
Services are at 4 Monday at Abbeville Presbyterian Church with visitation from 3-4 in the church parlor.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Abbeville Hospital Fund and the Abbeville Presbyterian Church Organ Fund.
Cremation Society of South Carolina, Greenville, is in charge.

Bob Robinson
WATERLOO — Bob Robinson, 75, of 866 Enchanted Oaks Drive, husband of Jeannine Larson Robinson, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at his home.
Born in Shreve, Ohio, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Ruby Loizer Robinson. He was the owner and operator of the Shreve Equipment Company. He was a member of the Laurens V.F.W. 5932 and Greenwood American Legion Post 20. He attended the Rosemont Baptist Church and was a World War II Marine veteran.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Floyd Robinson of Wooster, Ohio and Wilbur Robinson of Pinopolis; two stepsons, Steven Sanderson of Plano, Texas and Michael Sanderson of Bowling Green, Ohio; a daughter, Sharon Ronyak of Akron, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Dianne Sitter of Bowling Green, Ohio and Sherry Holloway of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Margaret Muhall of Shreve, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 Wednesday at the Schlabach Funeral Home. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens and from 7-9 Tuesday at the Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, Ohio.

John Henry Watts
GREENVILLE — John Henry “June Bug” Watts, 58, of Greenville, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Williams Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late John Henry and Verna Chase Watts. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1962. He served in the Army, where he was an electronics engineer at Huntsville Missile Base in Alabama.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara “Susie” Strong and Rosalyn “Nikki” Morgan of Greenwood; two sons, Bobby Hurley of Greenwood and Eddie Watts of Huntsville, Ala.; three brothers, Charles E. Watts of Greenwood and Calvin Watts and John V. Watts, both of Greenville; five sisters, Henrietta Martin of Indianapolis, Lillie M. Workman and Bernice Hentz of Greenville and Vera M. Kelly and Mary R. Warren of Simpsonville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of his brother, Charles E. Watts, 135 Empire Circle, Aspen Heights, Greenwood and a sister, Mary R. Warren, 108 Delmar Drive, Simpsonville.
Services will be announced by SC Franks Chapel of Remembrance, Greenville and Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, which are in charge.

Thelma Griffin
WARE SHOALS — Thelma McKee Griffin, 81, of 4 Park St., widow of James Edward Griffin, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Horace Harvey and Mattie Bowick McKee. She was a former co-owner of Park Pharmacy and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Herman McKee of Ware Shoals and Harvey McKee of Hodges and two sisters, Hazel Peevler and Dot Jeanes, both of Ware Shoals.
Services are at 3 Tuesday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Leon Jones, the Rev. Harvey Peurifoy and the Rev. Robert Emory. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Honorary escorts are the Mary Martha Sunday School Class.
Visitation is from 2-3 Tuesday at Parker-White Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Dot and Calvin Jeanes, 36 N. Greenwood Ave. Ext.
Memorials may be made to Ware Shoals First Baptist Church.

Ralph Carroll Harvley
GREENWOOD — Ralph Carroll Harvley, 62, of 217 Cambridge Apartments, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Thurmond Eugene and Daisy Mae Hollingsworth Harvley. He was an Air Force veteran and a retired businessman.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Carroll Harvley Sr. of Ninety Six, Tony Randall Harvley of Greenwood and Tommy Darrell Harvley of Waterloo; a brother, Elmer Jordan “E.J.” Harvley of Greenwood and five grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 2 Tuesday at Oakbrook Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Craig Hughes and the Rev. Mike Buchannan.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of E.J. Harvley, 4612 Highway 178 S.

Billy Ray Smith
DONALDS — Billy Ray Smith, 64, of 5616 Hwy. 184 E., husband of Dorothy (Susie) Fleming Smith, died Sunday, June 02, 2002 at her home.
Born April 25, 1938 in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Walter Cleveland and Annie Mae McCoy Smith. He was retired from Belton Industries and was a member and Deacon of Due West Baptist Church, a member of the Donalds Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
Surviving are his wife of the home; two daughters, Peggy S. Boswell and her husband Mauldin of Due West and Debbie S. Wiley and her husband Randy of Abbeville; three grandchildren, Reagan Shirley Cox of Due West, Holly Lynn Wiley and David Ryan Wiley of Abbeville; Brother, Jasper W. (Jack) Stone of Donalds; Half brother, Ronnie Smith of Columbia. He was predeceased by two brothers; Harold and Roy Smith and a sister; Joyce Bratcher.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday at Due West Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Andrews and Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be: Tommy Brooks, Charlie Fleming, Harry Fleming, Eddie Stone, Perry Smith, Bobby Walker, Jerry Fleming and Cecil Gullatt.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men’s Sunday School Class of Due West Baptist Church and members of the Donalds Masonic Lodge.
The body is at Harris Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday. The body will be placed in the church at 2 P.M. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the Music Program of Due West Baptist Church, 218 South Main Street, Due West, SC 29639.

Lois Cantrell
McCORMICK — Lois Deason Cantrell, 86, widow of Woodrow R. Cantrell, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Wesley Commons.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late Henry R. and Maude Robinson Deason. She was a 1932 graduate of McCormick High School and a member of McCormick United Methodist Church. Formerly of McCormick, she had lived in Greenwood since 1993.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in McCormick City Cemetery, conducted by the Revs. Don Clendaniel and Thomas Cartledge.
Memorials may be made to McCormick United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 267, McCormick, S.C. 29835 or HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Effie Cartledge-Jones
McCORMICK — Services for Effie Cartledge-Jones, of Route 2 Box 121-K, Highway 378 East, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Spring Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Taylor. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is at the home of a sister, Cathlean Kelly.
McCormick Memorial Chapel is in charge.

Charles Fredrick Goodenough
GREENWOOD - Charles Frederick Goodenough, 88, husband of Christine Riviere Goodenough, died June 2, 2002, at National Health Care.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was a son of the late Lee Sylvester and Julia Gallager Goodenough. He graduated high school in Cristobal, Panama Canal Zone. He was formerly employed with the Civil Service in Panama Canal Zone, and was a commercial pilot and an instructor at Greenwood Airport. He was the owner of Crystal Ice and Fuel Company, and served with the US Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Greenwood Rotary Club and the Greenwood Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary (Sue) Clifton.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Christy G. Smith of Dahlonega, GA; sons, Richard C. Goodenough of Beaufort, and Lee R. Goodenough of Spartanburg; sister Kathleen Turner of Newton, NC; ten grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A family memorial service will be conducted later.
Burial will be in Barnes-ville, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mildred McClain
WARE SHOALS — Mildred Turner McClain, 82, of 29 S. Greenwood Ave., widow of Frank C. McClain, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at National Health Care, Laurens.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Verner Q. and Mary Scott Turner. She was a member of Ware Shoals Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Survivors include a daughter, Frankie Cline of Ware Shoals; a sister, Elizabeth Hopkins of Laurens; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Revs. John Phillips and Don McKellar. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
The men of the church are pallbearers, and the Ladies Bible Class members are honorary escorts.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 677 Power House Road, Ware Shoals.

George B. Beaver, Jr.
LEXINGTON - Services for George B. Beaver, Jr., 64, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 06, 2002, at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church with burial in Woodridge Memorial Park. Officiating will be Dr. Charles Jackson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 05, 2002 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cayce Rotary, c/o George Beaver, Paul Harris Fellow, PO Box 3268, West Columbia, SC 29171-3268.
Mr. Beaver died Monday, June 03, 2002. Born in Green-wood, SC, on June 20, 1937, he was the husband of Sylvia Beaver and the son of the late Caroline Mattison Beaver. George was President of Capitol-U-Drive-It, a licensee of Avis Rent-A-Car, for 30 years. He was also owner of East Coast Tanning Company in Lexington, Irmo and Columbia and owner of Pastime Pavilion in Lexington and on the Board of Advertising and Policy Committees of Avis Rent-A-Car. He was an active board member of North Shore Villas HOA in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He was an avid Gamecock fan and a long-standing member of the Gamecock Club and of the Cayce Rotary Club.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Beaver of Lexington; children, Rhett Alexander Beaver of Lexington; William Lee Glenn Beaver of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; John Mattison Beaver and wife Debbie, of Flat Rock, NC and G. Michael Beaver, MD, and wife Lindy of Chapin; grandchildren, Kyle Mattison Beaver and Caroline Roberta Beaver of Chapin and Christopher Scott Beaver and Berry Mattison Beaver of Flat Rock, NC.

Annie Todd Ostrochovsky
GREENWOOD — Annie Todd Ostrochovsky, 93, formerly of 307 W. Durst Ave., widow of Rudolph Ostrochovsky, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Wesley Commons.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Jesse and Izora Elizabeth Saxon Todd. She was a homemaker and a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Rebecca Sparinoof Annandale, Va., and Jewell Fuller of Clinton.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. today in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Bob Allen.
Visitation is after the services at the cemetery.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Lowell Street United Methodist Church, 300 Lowell St., Greenwood, S.C. 29646 or to a charity of one’s choice.
