SIMPSONVILLE — Pauline Burns Boiter, 94, formerly of 5603 Highway 702, Ninety Six, widow of Mack A. Boiter, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Summit Place.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William and Emma Suber Burns. She was retired from Park Davis Pharmaceuticals and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Ninety Six.
v Survivors include a daughter, Emogene H. Hicks of Greenville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are at noon today at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at 20 S. Fairfield Road.

Sidney Brady
ABBEVILLE — Sidney ‘Sid’ Dale Brady, 60, of 200 Dundas Road, husband of Margaret Mundy Brady, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Statesville, N.C., he was a son of Mabel Sigeman Brady and the late Coyte P. Brady. He was a graduate of Clemson University, and was retired from the Greenwood School District. He was principal of Wright Middle School in Abbeville for many years, a Driver’s Education Instructor at Piedmont Tech, and was a member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Statesville; two sons, Richard Brady of Anderson and Ryan Brady of Aiken; two brothers, Trent Brady of Heidnite, N.C., and Kent Brady of Statesville; two sisters, Mrs. Bill Pope and Mrs. Dean Lewis, both of Statesville.
Services are at 11 Wednesday at Abbeville Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. John Timmerman. Burial is in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Foundation, 301 University Ridge Drive, Greenville, S.C., 29601.

Rev. Richard Campbell
WATERLOO — The Rev. Richard Campbell, 79, formerly of 10962 Highway 221 South, died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Simpsonville.
He was a resident of the Summit Place Nursing Center in Simpsonville, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, and was a Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two brothers, Sammie Campbell of Waterloo and James Lee Campbell of Laurens; five sisters, Mamie Cunningham and Neicie Cunningham, both of Waterloo, Catherine Holloway of McCormick, Genevie Cunningham of Laurens and Jannie Thorton of Richmond, Va.
Services are at 2 Wednesday at Good Hope Baptist Church in Waterloo, conducted by the Rev. Ray O. Holloway. Burial is in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of a sister, Mamie Cunningham, 135 Riverfolk Road in Waterloo.c Goins Funeral Home is in charge.

Ethel Creswell
ABBEVILLE — Ethel Norrell Creswell, 89, of 101 Barnwell St., widow of Robert Paterson Creswell, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel Providence and Maggie Elizabeth Banks Norrell. She was a member of the Abbeville Congregational Holiness Church and the American Legion Auxiliary and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a brother, Lemuel N. Norrell of Carrolton, Ga.; a sister, Ruby N. Hughes of Greenwood; thee grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Services are at 2 today at Harris Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ty Sorrow. Burial is in Melrose Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1-2 at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C., 29646.

GREENWOOD — Services for Annie Mae Holmes, formerly of A-2 Parkway Court, are at 3 Wednesday at Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., conducted by the Revs. Mamie Greene, Joe L. Greene, and Carnell Morton. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are friends of the family.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Calhoun, Pine Hill Drive, off Highway 10 in the Promiseland Community.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc.

Grace McNeil
ABBEVILLE — Grace Knight McNeil, of 1212 North Main St., widow of Melvin McNeil, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin L. Knight Jr., Gene Knight and Richard Knight; three daughters, Grace Jones, Alice Morgan and Mary K. Nickles; three brothers, John McMahan of Abbeville, Howard McMahan of Florida, and Cleveland McMahan of Augusta, Ga.; and a sister, Alice M. Kay of Abbeville.
Graveside services are at 4 Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by the Revs. Bobby Jones and Bruce Moore.
Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge.

Anna Marie Potts
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Anna Marie Potts, 15, student at Chiles High School, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while vacationing with her family in Montana.
She was a member of Killearn United Methodist Church where she was actively involved in church activities.
Survivors include her mother, Jayne Walker Potts of the home; a sister, Elizabeth P. Smith of Tallahassee and a brother, William Potts of Tallahassee; paternal grandparents, William Eugene Sr. and Naomi Potts of Columbia, SC; maternal grandparents, James H. and Joyce Baker Walker of Greenwood, SC.
Memorial services were conducted Monday in Tallahassee.
Memorials may be made to Killearn United Methodist Church, 2800 South Shamrock, Tallahassee, FL 32809 or to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 2121 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, Fl 32303.

Dr. William E. Potts
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Dr. William E. Potts, Jr., 48, husband of Jayne Walker Potts, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 from injuries sustained in automobile accident while vacationing with his family in Montana.
He was a son of William Eugene Sr. and Naomi Potts. He was a surgeon for Southeastern Urological Center and was a member of the Killearn United Methodist Church where he led the College Career Group for many years. Mr. Potts opened his home to The Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Chiles High School.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents of Columbia; a daughter, Elizabeth Smith of Tallahassee; a son, William Potts of Tallahassee; three sisters, Lou Anne Gibbs, Linda Huff and Annette Bowman, all of Columbia; a brother, Dan Potts of Columbia; and a grandson.
Memorial services were conducted Monday in Tallahassee.

Callie Mae Spearman
GREENWOOD — Callie Mae Spearman, 65, of 715 Clem Road, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at her home.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie W. Spearman Sr. and Mary Boozer Spearman. She was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she was vice president of the Missionary Society, assistant supervisor of Sunday School, president of the Adult Choir, former member of the Steward Board, and founder and former president of the Allen Chapel Gospel Chorus. She was a member of Abbeville-Greenwood District Choir, Women’s Aid Society 98, Old Abbeville Highway Community Club, and a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1956.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Frazier of Greenwood; two brothers, Willie Spearman of Greenwood and the Rev. Charlie Spearman of Greenville; two sisters, Mary Lee Williams of Greenwood and Earlene Aikens of Due West; three grandchildren reared in the home; Antonio D. Taylor, Markus Frazier and Melvin Jaborri Frazier, all of Greenwood; and one grandchild.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

Beverly Talbert
McCORMICK — Beverly Sly Talbert, 66, of Hwy 221 N., wife of William A. “Billy” Talbert, Jr., died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Yakima, Wash., she was a daughter of the late Victor H. and Bertha Mitchell Sly. She was reared in the home of Edith Mitchell Talbert and the late T.R. Talbert in McCormick. She was a 1955 graduate of McCormick High School and retired from Mt. Vernon Mills, Riegel Division - McCormick Plant, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church and Mt. Vernon Mills Quarter Century Club.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Michael William Talbert of McCormick; a daughter, Lorette T. Robinson of Greenwood; two sisters, Viola Davis of Greenwick, Ohio and Jeri Sandusky of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11 Wednesday at Bethany Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. C. B. Love. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10.
Pallbearers are Dennis White, Edward Rush, Tony David, Brian David, Terrell Holloway, Ronnie Turner, J. R. Robinson and Shane Brinkley.
Honorary escorts will be active and retired associates of Mt. Vernon Mills.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Bethany Baptist Church.

Katie Faulkner Thompson
WELLFORD - Katie Faulkner Thompson, 91, of 181 Cannon Road, Wellford died Monday, July 8, 2002 in the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A life long resident of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Lillian Mae Thompson Faulkner. She was founder, owner and operator of the Famous Name Brand Shoes since 1956 with stores in Greer, Columbia, Rock Hill and Wellford and had also worked with Lyman Printing and Finishing Co. for a number of years. Mrs. Thompson was a past recipient of the Woman of Achievement Award by the Spartanburg Business and Professional Club.
Mrs. Thompson was a faithful member of the Lyman First Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for 55 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey William Thompson in 1957, her son, William Edward "Bill" Thompson in 1999; two sisters, Mary Edith Faulkner and Emma Ruth Faulkner and one brother, John Arthur Faulkner.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Edna Thompson Culp and Robert B. Culp of Greenwood. One daughter-in-law, Rachel Deal Thompson of Wellford. Four grandchildren, Anthony Scott Thompson and William Edward Thompson, Jr. of Wellford, Dr. R. Ben Culp of Spartanburg and Renee Culp Bland of Columbia. Six great-grandchildren. One niece, Faye Faulkner Smith of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10th at 2:30 p.m. at the Lyman First Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jay Thompson, the Rev. Gideon Long and the Rev. Michael Smith. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Greene, Frank Bishop, Steve Collins, Jim Thompson, Bill Drake, Don Watson, Bill Ezell and Bo Davies.
Those who wish may make memorials to the Lyman First Baptist Church, 80 Groce Road, Lyman, SC 29365 or to Hospice Special Needs, 120 Heywood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. til 2:15 p.m. at the church.

Dora Briggs
NINETY SIX — Dora Lee McMehan Briggs, 94, of 5912 Kinard Road, widow of Thomas A. Briggs Sr., died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at her home.
Born in Atlanta, she was a daughter of the late Roy Thomas McMehan and Minnie Lee Gray McMehan Haney. She was retired from Mecklenburg County School District, Cotswold Elementary School, where she was a dietician. She was a member of Kinard United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise B. Collins of Hickory, N.C., and Patricia B. Stuckey of Hanahan; three sons, Thomas A. Briggs of Greenville, Johnnie L. Briggs of Ft. Mill, and Roy E. Briggs of Ninety Six; a brother, George E. McMehan of Ft. Mill; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 2 Thursday at Moores Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Charlotte, N.C., conducted by the Rev. John Scott Cloninger.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Kinard United Methodist Church.
The family is at the home of a son, Roy E. Briggs, 5902 Kinard Road, Ninety Six.
Memorials may be made to Kinard United Methodist Church or to the charity of one’s choice. Harley Funeral Home is in charge.
