Imogene J. Fleming
GREENWOOD - Imogene J. Fleming, 74, of 101 Madison Street, widow of John Ray Fleming, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 19, 2002 at her home.
Born in Elbert County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Eugene Johnson and Maude Lovinggood Johnson Yeargin. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Harris Plant, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of Church on Fire Worship Center (formerly Grendel Pentecostal Holiness Church), where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, was past secretary of the Sunday School Department and past president of the Young at Heart Club. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Edward Johnson.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances Lawson Regen of the home and Jeanie Friar of Belton; two brothers, Sam S. Johnson and Thomas C. Johnson, both of Elberton, GA; six grandchildren, Mrs. Douglas (Sandi) Amyx, Mrs. Philip (DeLynn) Lane, Mrs. J. C. (Chris) Oden, Mr. Dwayne (Christi) Friar, John Friar and Mrs. Scott (LeAnne) Simmons; and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church on Fire Worship Center with the Rev. Shane Cox, the Rev. Chris Jarrod and Mr. Mark Jones officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Norris Wilson, Charles Madden, Jerry Lawson, Jeff Balchin, Johnny Mattox and Tommy Johnson.
Honorary escort will be the ladies of Church on Fire Worship Center.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Church on Fire Worship Center building fund, 435 E. Durst Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29649.

Rosa Donaldson Frazier
ABBEVILLE — Rosa Donaldson Frazier, 94, of 208 Whitehall St., widow of Augustus Frazier, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Abbeville Nursing Home.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Nettie Killingsworth Donaldson. She was a member of Wilson Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, John Robert Frazier of Skokie, Ill., Fred Frazier of Summerville and Augustus Frazier Jr. of Rockville, N.Y.; two daughters, Virdistean Dunlap of Milwaukee and Thalla Wright of Evanston, Ill.; a brother, Henry Donaldson of Antreville; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home.

Robert N. Kelley
EDGEFIELD — Robert Neal “Bob” Kelley, 59, of 164 Gilchrist Road, husband of Joyce Gilchrist Kelley, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at the V.A. Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
He was an Army veteran and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and Caldwell Masonic Lodge 82. He retired as a correctional officer with the State of South Carolina and from the S.C. National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jody L. Kelley of McCormick; two daughters, Judy Brasell of Martinez, Ga., and Christy Salter of McCormick; a sister, Delores Swords of South Haven, Miss.; two brothers, Brooks Kelley of Calhoun City, Miss., and Donald Kelley of Pontotoc, Miss.
Services are at 11 Wednesday at Rehoboth Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Stanley Sprouse. Burial, with military honors, is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Josh McCurry
IVA — Joshua “Josh” McCurry, 22, of Highway 413, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of Don and Susan Dickerson McCurry. He worked construction as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his parents of the home; a son, Hayden McCurry of Anderson; a brother, Scott McCurry of the home; paternal grandmother, Novella Busby McCurry of Abbeville; maternal grandparents, T.C. and Irene Dickerson of Starr.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Novella McCurry, 507 Maple St., Abbeville and the home of Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Dickerson, 309 Thompson St., Starr.

David Norris
ABBEVILLE — David Pressley Norris, 46, of 2665 Cedar Springs Road, husband of Sudie Young Norris, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Services will be announced by Harris Funeral Home.

Mary Cornelia Winn
ABBEVILLE - Mary Cornelia Winn, 73, resident of 211 Marshall Avenue, died August 19, 2002 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville, July 29, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Claude A. Winn, Sr. and Amy Uldrick Winn. She retired as office manager from Little River Electric Co-Op after 45 years service.
A member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, she was also a member of the choir and Sunday School teacher of the church. Ms. Winn was the treasurer of Long Cane Cemetery and was a member and treasurer of the Long Cane Canites.
Survivors include three sisters, Sarah Newton of Yonges Island, Lorraine Edwards of Greenwood and Mrs. Ernest (Jean) Bowden of Parsonsburg, MD; two brothers, Thomas Winn of Abbeville and Jerry Winn of the home; a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Claude "Dolph" Winn and Robert Winn.
Funeral services will be conducted 1PM Wednesday at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ray Massey officiating.
Burial will be in Long Cane Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stan Newton, Louie Newton, Claude Newton, Tommy Winn, Cliff Ford, Owen Uldrick, Don Trent, James Timms and Lee Newton.
Honorary escort will be Roland White, Jimmy Finley, Al Dansby, Henry McCord, R. A. Hagen, Dr. David Martin and Dr. Robert Todd.
The body is at Harris Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 12 Noon Wednesday.
The family is at the home on Marshall Avenue and will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening.
Memorials may be made to Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, 194 Hwy. 20, Abbeville, SC or to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.

Sallie M. Gilmore
EVANSTON, Ill. — Sallie M. Gilmore, 94, widow of Benjamin Franklin Gilmore, of 2317 Nathaniel Place, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 at St. Francis Nursing Home.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late John and Sallie Tolbert. She was a member of Faith Temple Church of God and Christ.
Survivors include seven daughters, Alice Tyson and Sallie Gilmore, both of the home, Cornelia Triplet, Ann Miller and Mary Riley, all of Dayton, Ohio, Ethel Bates of Greenwood and Louise Smith of Columbus, Ohio; and a sister Ethel Holloway of Gastonia, N.C.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced.

Sallie M. Gilmore
EVANSTON, Ill. — Services for Sallie M. Gilmore are 7 p.m. Friday at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, conducted by Bishop Carlis Moody. Burial is in Sunset Cemetery.
Additional survivors include 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Luther A. Hogan
DONALDS — Luther A. Hogan, 50, husband of Betty Fleming Hogan, of 30 Singleton Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 at his home.
A native of Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Frank J. and Georgia Singleton Hogan. He served in Navy and was a member of Donalds United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Frankie Hogan and Terry Hogan, both of Donalds and Robert Odom of Greenwood; and eight grandchildren.
Services are 4 p.m. Friday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jones “Jonsie” Brewer. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Greg Watson, Bruce Watson, Matt Henderson, Casey Henderson, George Jones, Willie McGill, Kevin Fleming and Mike Gunnells.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.

Nancy Smith
HODGES — Nancy Luther Smith, 55, wife of James R. Smith Sr., of 4205 Highway 246 N., died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Othel “Shorty” and Grace Haynes Luther and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenwood.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Jamie R. Smith Jr. of Cokesbury; two sisters, Jane Hammond of Hodges and Opal Goldman of Belton; and two grandchildren.
Services are at 1 Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, conducted by Bishop Harold Dabel. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Richard Bowie, Billy Bowie, Leonard Bowie, Kevin Smiley, Johnny Buzhardt and Jamie Smith Jr.
Honorary escorts are Don Cox and Tommy Hammond.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home.

McCORMICK — Services for Lorena Walker are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. Carey Grady, pastor. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Marcial Jane Miller Waller
GREENWOOD — Marcial M. Waller, 68, of 106 E. Dead Fall Road, wife of Thomas Waller, died Aug. 27, 2002. Born in New Hanover, NC, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Charles and Christine Holmes Miller. She was a graduate of Johnson County High School, Smithfield, NC, and Freeman Nursing School, Washington , DC. She was a member of Marshall Chapel Baptist church, where she was a former Usher and a former Sunday School teacher, and a member of Upper Room Church of God, where she was one of the Mothers of the Church, was appointed Grandmother of the Kings Kids Sunday School Class and was a member of the Company of Prophets Ministry. She was employed by Brewer Hospital and Self Memorial Hospital, and was a member of Stella Chapter O.E.S. #337. She enjoyed working in the church, traveling and gardening.
Surviving is her husband of the home; two daughters Olletta Waller and Thomasena Waller of Greenville; an adopted daughter, Marchelle T. Spearman of Greenwood; an adopted son, Robert Derrick Tompkins of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Brittany Waller, Miya and Dante Spearman, Phalesia, DeVon and Robert D. Tompkins Jr.; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday, from Upper Room Church of God with Pastor Jessie Simmons officiating, assisted by the Rev. Carl Wells. Burial will be in Marshall Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pastor Alvin Deal, Pastor Bobby Hall, John Goodwin, Darnell Leake, Hugh Hill, and Brewer Hart. Flowerbearers will be Carla Williams, Jennifer Spann, Keisha Bell, Robbie Goodwin, and Frances Stevens. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 to await the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to HospiceCare of Greenwood.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 5:30-7 PM this evening. Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home is in charge.

Jimmy Watkins
SALUDA, SC — James Nicholson "Jimmy" Watkins, Jr., 67, of 885 May Rd., died Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at his residence.
Born in Saluda County, he was the son of the late James N., Sr. and Sara Carson Watkins. He was the retired owner and operator of NUAKER FARMS and WATT LOGGING and was currently working with his son at J P W Trucking. Mr. Watkins was a member of the South Carolina Timber Producers Association and was the former President of Aiken Electric Co-op Board of Directors. He formerly served in the SC National Guard and was a member and deacon of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Myrna Butler Watkins, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jon and Pansy Watkins of Saluda and Nicky and Janet Watkins of Springfield, two daughters and sons-in-law, Babs and Johnny Willis of Saluda and Donna and Andy Leopard of Ninety Six, one sister, Ann Carolyn Blalock of Harlem, GA and eight grandchildren, Jamey Watkins, Carla Watkins, Nicklaus Willis, Leanna Willis, Jonathon Watkins, Joni Watkins, Carmen Leopard and Jonah Leopard.
Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Watkins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 30, 2002, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cooper and Rev. Carlos Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Mayson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence from 7 til 9 PM Thursday evening.
Memorials may be made to the Ministry of Kenneth and Dayna Bledsoe through Good Hope Baptist Church, 1738 Greenwood Highway, Saluda, SC 29138.
