Doris R. Fowler
GREENEVILLE, TN — Doris R. Fowler, age 57, of Ealey Road, Greeneville, formerly of Greenwood, SC, died Thursday evening, December 12, 2002 at Wellmont-Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was an employee of Temple of God Daycare and was a former daycare employee of Tiny Tim Nursery. She was a member of Oak Grove FWB Church. Her family said she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Elton L. Fowler, one daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Jessie Richards of Greeneville; three grandchildren, Cassandra Morris, Krystal Morris and Summer Nicole Richards, all of Greeneville; her mother, Annie Claire Rackley of Greenwood, SC; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John Ledford of Charleston, SC; her mother-in-law, Gladys Fowler of Greenwood, SC; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Timothy V. and Missy Fowler of Greenwood, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Lloyd Rackley and her father-in-law, Harold L. Fowler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2002 at the Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. J. Carlisle Grimsley and Rev. Kevin Trimble officiating. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday evening at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Eric Charity, Eric Johnson, Tim Fowler, Charles Wyatt, Tony Wyatt, Jeff Morris, Joe Hensley, and Walter Morris.
Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carrie Holmes
Carrie Holmes, 85, of 222 Ware St., widow of Ezekiel Holmes, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Lewis and Rosa Moore Kinard. She was a member of Little Zion A.M.E. Church and a retired foster home caregiver.
She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Survivors include a foster son, Scotland DeShon Ward of Flint, Mich.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

Martha Kwist
SUMMERVILLE — Martha Hubregtse Kwist, 91, widow of Jan Kwist, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at a Charleston hospital.
Born in Vlissingen, Netherlands, she was a daughter of Leendert Adriaan and Josina Meindrina Keersemaker Hubregtse. She was a homemaker and a member of Summerville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Hord of Charlotte, N.C., and Joan Hunt of Greer; three sons, Lee A. Kwist of Greenwood, Adriaan Kwist and John Kwist, both of Summerville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Summerville Presbyterian Church. Burial is in Summerville Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 Sunday at Parks Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Summerville Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 407 Laurel St., Summerville, SC 29483.

Ellen R. Lowe
Ellen Bertre Ridlehoover Lowe, 83, of 134 Allison Drive, wife of Samuel McGowan Lowe, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in the White Town section of McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late William Luther and Mary Sue White Ridlehoover. She was a retired clerical worker with Upper Savannah Health District and a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Luther S. Lowe of Greenville and Bennie Allen Lowe of Greenwood; four brothers, Ralph E. Ridlehoover and R. Evan Ridlehoover, both of Plum Branch, W. Carlton Ridlehoover of Augusta, Ga., and L. Nathan Ridlehoover of Wendell, N.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 3:30 Sunday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Robert Patton and Bennie Ridlehoover. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Tommy Bennett, Alan Lowe, Sam Lowe, Steve Ridlehoover, Wayne Ridlehoover, Joe Ridlehoover, Mel Riley and Charles Bridges.
Visitation is 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son Bennie Lowe, 446 Sagewood Road.

Harley B. Lynch
WARE SHOALS — Harley Bramlett Lynch, 81, of 15 Edgewood Drive, widow of Horace S. Lynch Sr., died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at Magnolia Manor in Greenwood.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late J.L. and Flossie Burdette Bramlett. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Steve Lynch of Ware Shoals; a daughter, Becky Lynch of Anderson; and a sister, Anna Lee Eaton of Greenville.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Leon Jones. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Clifford Jennings, Harold Kay, Bruce Young, Spencer Thomas, B.H. Eaton and Alan Baird.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Mary-Martha Sunday School Class, Linnie Bell Davis and Lillian Hellams.
Visitation is 1-2 Sunday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Steve Lynch, 370 Turkey Creek Road.
Memorials may be made to Lottie Moon Fund, Ware Shoals First Baptist Church or the Global Mission Offering at Boulevard Baptist Church, Anderson.

McCORMICK — Services for Eula H. Mattison are 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethany Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Robert Haskell, David Tompkins, Matthew Haskell and Dr. Albert A. Neal. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.
Flower bearers are granddaughters and nieces.
Honorary escorts are members of Women’s Home Aide Society No. 1.
The family is at the home on Cedar Hill Road.

Della Mae Poss
BRADLEY — Della Mae Poss, 86, of 916 Cedar Springs Road, widow of J. L. Poss, died Friday, December 13, 2002 at her home. Born in Jefferson, GA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Eliza Ann West Worley. She was a patient sitter and a member of the Senior Citizens Merrymaker Club of Abbeville and Friendship Baptist Church of Abbeville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Bruton.
Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Tina Bruton of Fountain Inn; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Noffko of Saluda; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Wendell Rhodes and the Rev. Bill Ellison officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Joe Bruton, Michael Bruton, Joey Bruton, Andrew Bruton, Jacob Ruscetta, Daniel Ruscetta and Tony Ruscetta.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Michael Walker
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Michael Carl Walker, 43, of 4500 Baymeadow Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002 in Jacksonville.
Born in Detroit, he was a son of Leon Joseph Walker and the late Dollie Mygonne Taylor Walker. He was an Army veteran and an employee of CitiBank in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his father of Grayling, Mich.; two sons, Michael Christopher Walker and Mark Thomas Leon Walker, both of Detroit; a daughter, Kelley Marie Walker of Detroit; a brother, Kevin L. Walker of Cross Hill, S.C.; two sisters, Donna W. Mashburn of Cross Hill and Shannon W. Owensby of Greenwood, S.C.
Memorial services are 4 p.m. Sunday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Frank Thomas.
Visitation is 3-4 Sunday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Kevin and Wanda Walker, 558 Ridge Hill Road, Cross Hill.

Carlos Benson
Carlos Duperee Benson, 23, of 1203 Gum St., died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002.
He was a son of Jimmy Workman and Ruby Benson Workman of Greenwood. He was a member of Weston Chapel A.M.E., the Y.P.D.’s, and attended Job Corps in Kitson, N.C.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Raymone Workman of Greenwood; and a grandmother, Francis Benson of Greenwood.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc.

Douglas M. Campbell
LYONS, Ga. — Douglas M. Campbell, 60, of 238 Humphries Road, husband of Jan Campbell, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at his home. A native of Abbeville County, he was a civil engineer, a Navy veteran, a member of Jasper County Masonic Lodge and a member of Al Sihah Shrine Temple in Macon, Ga. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a foster parent.
Survivors include his wife; children, Shannon Campbell of Hudson, Fla., Lonna Glisson of Keystone Heights, Fla., Lee Price of Laurinburg, N.C., Jessica Campbell of Lyons, Justice, Aaron, Dylan, Savannah, Lois, James and Emily, all of Lyons; three brothers, James C. Campbell of Columbia, Michael Lee Campbell and Robert C. Campbell, both of S.C., two sisters, Terri Lewis of Abbeville, and Patricia Lynn Dangerfield of S.C., and two grandchildren.
Services are at 4 today at Harris Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Connor. Burial is in Melrose Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3-4 Sunday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of a sister, Terri Lewis, Highway 28 North, Abbeville.

Quincey L. Chappelle
NINETY SIX — Quincey Lavon Chappelle, 46, of 132 Panther Drive, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at his home.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Robert Chappelle and Doris Williams Miles. He was married to Gloria Ann Hawkins Chappelle. He was a member of Mays United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 410 of Cross Hill, and the National Guard of Greenwood. He was employed by Cooper Power Systems.
Survivors include his parents; his wife; a daughter, Aretha Johnson of Ninety Six; two sons, Rodney Johnson of Greenwood and Demetrius Johnson of Ninety Six; three brothers, Robert Chappelle of Greenwood, Kenneth Chappelle of Ninety Six, and Johnnie Miles of Atlanta, Ga.; seven sisters, Sally Taylor and Teresa Thomas, both of Ninety Six, Lisa Freeman, Sharon Brown, DeeDee Johnson and Rose Johnson, all of Greenwood, Cynthia Chappelle of Saluda; and six grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc.

Lorane Crawford
ABBEVILLE — Corrie Lorane “Billie” Crawford, 68, of 1019 Flat Rock Road, wife of Thomas F. Crawford, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester Arch Price and Annie Corine Ware Price. She was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Patricia Ann Crawford Boyter of Inman; three sons, Thomas R. Crawford of Iva, David L. Crawford of Greenwood and William A. Crawford of Abbeville; two sisters, Rosa June Price Ferguson of Abbeville and Sarah Geraldine Price McMahan of Grovetown, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Services are at 11 Monday at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. John Parks. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Harris Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of a son, William Arch Crawford, 868 Flat Rock Road.
Harris Funeral Home is in charge.
