Rita Agnes Tardiff Floyd
Tardiff Floyd, age 82 of 300 Sims St. died Friday December 20, 2002 in the Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire and was the daughter of the late Joseph Hermanigilde and Odella Delisle Tardiff.
Retired from Greenwood Mills, she is predeceased by three sisters: Mrs. Cora Lapointe, Mrs. Lauretta Murphy and Mrs. Helen LaChance and three brothers: Mr. Fred Tardiff, Mr. Leo Tardiff and Mr. Henry Tardiff all of New Hampshire.
In addition to her husband, Mr. James Ernest Floyd of Joanna, she is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Irene O’Brien, Mrs. Alice Trudel and Mrs. Ida Dionne all of Manchester, New Hampshire; two daughters, Mrs. Gene Talton (Mary Ann) Loos of Greenwood and Ms. Sandra Floyd of Joanna; one son, Mr. Stephen Ernest Floyd, Sr. of Clinton; three granddaughters, two grandsons and one great grandson.
A member of the USO, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Women of the Moose in Joanna, and a member of and past secretary of the Golden Age Club of Joanna. She was a reading mentor at Joanna-Woodson Elementary and was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She was the oldest founding member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Funeral service will be held Monday Dec. 23rd at the St. Boniface Catholic Church at 2:30 p.m. with interment in the Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Boniface Catholic Church at 403 North Main Street in Joanna, S.C. 29351 in lieu of flowers.

J. Lake Hellams
GRAY COURT — James Lake Hellams, 79, husband of Mamie Mahon Hellams, of Highway 101S, Hickory Tavern Community, died Friday, December 20, 2002 at Richard M. Campbell Nursing Home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Henry and Ruth Nelson Hellams. He was a retired employee of Laurens Glass after 42 years of service, was a World War II Army veteran having served in the European Theatre, and a member of Rabun Creek Baptist Church having formerly served as a Deacon and on various committees as long as his health permitted. He was also a former Laurens County Magistrate, a member of Laurens VFW, a charter member of the Hickory Tavern Lion’s Club, and for fifty years or more was a Master Mason of the Schroder Lodge in Gray Court.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie Mahon Hellams of the home; a daughter, Wanda H. Hill and husband Frank of Greenwood; a brother, Jimmy D. Hellams of Gray Court; a sister, Gladys H. Grantland of Anderson; and 2 grandchildren, Kelly Hill of Charlotte, NC and Paige Holley of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2002 at Rabun Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Kirt Mitchell and Rev. Floyd Hellams with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the church in the Social Hall from 2:00-3:00 PM before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rabun Creek Baptist Church, Cemetery Trust Fund or Building Fund, 17045 Highway 101S, Gray Court, SC 29645.

Barry Lee Pinkney
Services for Barry Lee Pinkney, of 117 Canyon Drive, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. Cornell Richardson, assisted by the Rev. Moses Miller. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Perrin Brown, Abner Calloway, Stanley Washington , George Miller, Soloman Walker and Jeff Logan.
Flower bearers are Gwen Thomas, Bernadette Hentz, Taylor Pinkney, Myesha Pinkney, Paulette Smith and Kendra Wilson.
The family is at the home.

HODGES — Cecil Stanley Posley, 68, of 1307 Shirley Road, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at his home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson-Walker Funeral Service, Ware Shoals.

James Robinson Sr.
DONALDS — James Austin Robinson Sr., “Doc”, 96, of 32 Robinson Lane, widower of Marie Williams Robinson, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 at his home.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Adam and Maggie Robinson. He was a retired employee of Daniel Construction Company and he worked at Belton Baggon Co. for a number of years. He was a member of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, Donalds.
Survivors include two daughters, Genevieve Garrison of Greenville and Johnnie Robinson Klugh of Hodges; a son, the Rev. James Robinson of Donalds; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. James Aiken. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens, Greenwood.
The family is at the home.

Wyman Anderson Jr.
Wyman Anderson Jr., 80, of 116 Carver St., husband of Pearlena Sheppard Brooks Anderson, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Wyman “Boss” Anderson Sr. and Rose Jones Anderson. He was a retired employee of Greenwood Mills, a member of Sons of Aid No. 55 and a member of Masonic Harmony Lodge No. 37. He was a member and former Steward of Weston Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Monica Dean of Greenwood; three stepdaughters, Mary Lee Tompkins, Mozelle Spearman and Alice Goodman, all of Greenwood; three brothers, Clarance Anderson of Greenwood, Thomas “T.J.” J. Anderson of Greensboro, N.C. and Oscar R. Anderson of Mitchellville, Va.; a sister, Ruby Anderson Adams of Greenwood; 17 grandchildren, one reared in the home, Larisa Elum and five great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson and Son Mortuary Inc.

James Byrd Sr.
James Byrd Sr., of 107 Mosley Road, husband of Willie Bell Williams Byrd died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Florence Christopher Byrd and Sam Byrd Sr. He was a World War II veteran and a retired employee of Greenwood Mills and Greenwood School District No. 50. He was a member of the Breezewood Community Club, former member of the Bailey Bethel Singing Convention and former member of the Masonic Pride Lodge No. 411. He joined Old Field Bethel A.M.E. Church, was baptized as an associate member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Leroy Byrd of Greenwood and James Byrd of the home; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Parks Funeral Home.

William Kelley
SUMMERVILLE — Bishop William Harley Kelley, 93, of Summerville, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at his home.
Born in Oconee County, he was a son of the late Rev. Joseph Kelley and Delilah Grant Kelley. He retired as a minister after serving 72 years for the Church of God of Prophecy denomination. He was the widower of Ollie Hoxit Kelley and Jessie Manley Kelley.
Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Gladys) Duvall and Mrs. James (Evelyn) Goodman, both of Greenwood, Mrs. Bobby (Kathryn) Ross of Ware Shoals, Mrs. Donald (Edith) Murdaugh of Summerville, Mrs. Bucky (Patsy) Thomas of Columbia, Mrs. Ron (Bobby) Matthews of Maryland, Mrs. Earl (Faye) Hobbs of Dothan, Ala. and Beverly Trotter of Pickens; four sons, Wayman (Lucille) Kelley of Laurens, Johnny (Barbara) Kelley and Luther (Carolyn) Kelley, both of Pickens and Roy (Loretta) Kelley of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sisters, Jessie Dove of Greenwood and Ovaline Crowe of Walhalla; a brother, Ralph Kelley of Belton; and 120 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of God of Prophecy, Summerville. Graveside services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Edgewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Parks Funeral Home, Summerville.

Shirley Radtka
Shirley Ann Callaway Radtka, 57, of 202 Sagewood Road, wife of Raymond R. Radtka died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Athens Ga., she was a daughter of the late Earvin and Mary Frances Callaway. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ryan R. Radtka of the home; two daughters, Teresa Greenway of Greenwood and Debbie Harris of Anderson; two sisters, Gladys Duncan and Janice Miner, both of Greenwood; two brothers, Swayne and Wayne Callaway, both of Greenwood; and a grandchild.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home.

John H. Robinson
MT. CARMEL — John Henry Robinson, 59, husband of Mary Banks Robinson died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late Noble Robinson and Lucy Robinson Turman. He was a retired employee of Pirelli Cable and a member of Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Church, Mt. Carmel.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, John Aaron Robinson of Atlanta; three daughters, Mrs. Lynn (Bridget) Blair and Dayatra Robinson, both of Mt. Carmel and Margaret Tatum of Calhoun Falls; five sisters, Neverdin Holloway and Mrs. Hayes (Mary) Jackson, both of Mt. Carmel, Mrs. Sandris (Josephine) Gilbert of Starr, Betty Turman of Anderson and Mrs. Maurice (Linda) Charles of Florence; three brothers, Isaac (Martha) Turman of Mt. Carmel and Randy and Robert Robinson, both of Florence; and two grandchildren reared in the home, Steven Banks and Dayleshia Robinson.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Grove Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel, conducted by the Revs. Roy Andrews and Brenda Lomax assisted by Elder G.T. Devlin Jr. and the Revs. James Louden III and Robert Belcher. The body will be placed in the church at 12 p.m. Burial is in Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Sonny Tillman, Jimmy Belcher, Calvin Clinkscales, Marcus Searles, Steven Lynn Blair and Herbert Bailey.
Flower bearers are nieces.
Honorary escorts are Marshall “Pete” Brown and Eugene Tatum.

Garry Waldrop
NINETY SIX — Garry LaTrovone Waldrop, 26, of 217A West Main St., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at Greenville General Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Eva Waldrop Hart and Andrew Jackson. He graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1994 and was an employee of Cooper Power Systems. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his parents; two daughters, Garrielle Mingo and Breata Waldrop, both of the home; a son, Tagarrion Waldrop of the home; a sister, Fosterine Adams of Saluda; two brothers, James and Rubin Hart, both of Ninety Six; a loving friend, Shavone Griffin of the home; stepfather, James Hart of Greenwood; and grandparents, Ailene Jackson and Levester Waldrop of Ninety Six.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Daniel and Sons Funeral Home.

Wyman Anderson Jr.
Services for Wyman Anderson Jr., of 116 Carver St., are 2 p.m. Thursday at Weston Chapel A.M.E. Church, conducted by the Rev. Willie N. Norman Jr. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Harmony Lodge No. 37 members.
Honorary escorts are members of Sons of Aide No. 55 and church officers.
Flower bearers are members of the Missionary Society and church ushers.
Visitation is Wednesday evening at the home.
An additional survivor is a daughter, Alice Gilliam of Greenwood.

Mozelle Bartless
Mozelle Lake Bartless, 67, of 4907 Old Laurens Highway, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at her home.
Born in Abbeville, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Annie Mozelle Erwin. She retired from Grimes and Emerald Center and attended Faith Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony “Tony” Bolt of Myrtle Beach and James Darrell Bolt of the home; and a sister, Evelyn L. Hoff of Anderson.
Services are 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Stan Hileman.
Pallbearers are Mitch Steele, Owens Gary, Mike Wightman, Daniel Wightman, John Anderson and Butch Anderson.
Honorary escort is Gil Bateman.
Visitation is 2-3:30 Thursday at the funeral home.

William D. Braden
WARE SHOALS — William Donald Braden, 59, husband of Pamela Jensen Braden, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at his home.
He was born in Waukegan, Ill.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Debbie Braden of Waukegan; a son, Bill Braden of Waukegan; a stepson, Shawn Rose and a stepdaughter, Shennen Rose, both of Ware Shoals; six grandchildren and a sister, Donna, of Jacksonville, Texas .
