Gladys Kinard Byrd
Gladys Kinard Byrd, 73, of 221 East Ave., widow of Thomas C. Byrd, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late W.C. “Clixy” and Verdie Burnett Kinard. She was a member of Jacob Chapel Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Chappell and Dennis Byrd of Greenwood; seven daughters, Cora L. Holloway of the home, Madeline Adams, Patricia C. Holloway, Verdie Klugh, Loretta Lewis and Sheila Jackson of Greenwood and Mary B. Green of St. Louis; two brothers, Dewey Kinard and Bobby Kinard of Greenwood; 17 grandchildren, four reared in the home, Demetria Wilson of Dumfries, Va., Jacquelyn Byrd and Tiffany Byrd of Greenwood and Selena Byrd of St. Louis; 15 great-grandchildren, one of the home, Tailor Byrd.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

H. C. Cunningham
PLUM BRANCH — Harold Chester Cunningham, 49, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at his home.
Born in Plum Branch, he was a son of Walter A. and Bernice Price Cunningham. He attended McCormick public schools and was a member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents of the home; three brothers, James Cunningham and Ronnie Cunningham, both of McCormick and Joel Cunningham of Plum Branch; four sisters, Claudine Gray of McCormick, Jacqueline Cunningham of Plum Branch, Shelia Cunningham of Atlanta and Sharon Callaham of Beaumont, Texas .
The family is at his parents’ home, Route 1. Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home, McCormick.

Sarah Ouzts
Sarah Parker Ouzts, 88, of 213 Folly Farm Road, wife of James Ancel Ouzts, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Easley, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Margaret Mayfield Parker. She was a retired secretary from Emerald City Laundry. A member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, she was also a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Women’s Ministries of the church.
Survivors include her husband of the home and a brother, J.W. Parker of Anderson.
Services are 11 a.m. today at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Lawrence Johnson and James Young. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Josh Kirby, Jamie Ouzts, David Lee Ouzts, Ron Massey, Dewitt Pressley, Jimmy Still, Tim Ellenburg and Guy Reed.
Honorary escorts are the women of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, along with Billy Ellenburg, Branch Hall, Harold Boyd, Victor Pruitt, Sonny Hamilton, James “Boxer” Adams and Jimmy Thompson.
Visitation is 10-11 today at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, 17 First St., Greenwood, SC 29646 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Robert H. Prince
LANDOVER, Md. — Bishop Robert H. Prince, 89, husband of Annie Prince, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002.
Born in Edgefield County, S.C., he was a son of the late John E. and Lula Lanham Prince. He attended McCormick County, S.C., public schools and several theological seminaries. A former member of New Hope Baptist Church, he was ordained as a minister in 1937 by the late Rev. E.J. Daniels and as a bishop in 1966. He was founder and pastor of the Victory Pentecostal Church in Landover. He was first married to the late Rose Gilchrist Prince and second, to the late Melinda Belton Prince.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Otelia Green and Catherine Brown, both of Washington , D.C.; two sisters, Moline P. Harrison of McCormick and Fannie Hardy of Plainfield, N.J.; and a brother, J.C. Prince of McCormick.
Services and burial are in Landover.

Karmyha N. Rapley
ABBEVILLE — Karmyha Nycole Rapley, infant daughter of Candace Rapley and Kennan Marshall, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Survivors include her mother of Abbeville; her father of Abbeville; a brother, Jacari Rapley of the home; maternal grandparents, Carl and Annie Rapley of Greenville; maternal great-grandparents, Lewis and Juanita Napoleon of Abbeville; paternal grandparents, Stanley and Daisy Marshall of Abbeville; paternal great-grandmothers, Edna Bryson and Mamie Rapley, both of Abbeville.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. today at St. Mary A.M.E. Church, McCormick, conducted by the Rev. Isaac Booker III.
Brown and Walker Funeral Home is in charge.

Gladys Byrd
Services for Gladys Byrd of 221 East Ave., will be at noon Friday at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Amos Harling, assisted by the Revs. Jerry Brown and Joseph Caldwell. Burial is in Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11.
Pallbearers are grandson and nephews.
Flower bearers are granddaughters and nieces.
The family is at the home.

David Haddon
ABBEVILLE — David LeRoy Haddon Jr., 56, of 1363 Klugh Road, husband of Maye Branyon Haddon, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Visitation is from 7-9 Thursday at Blyth Funeral Home, Greenwood.
The family is at the home on Klugh Road.
Services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home.

Odessia Hughes
DONALDS — Margaret Odessia Woods Hughes, 76, of 99 Drake Road, widow of Ralph E. Hughes, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at her home.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John Luther and Evelyn Sims Woods. She was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation and was a member of Donalds Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna H. Gambrell of Donalds; a brother, Lamar Woods of Fork Shoals; two sisters, Thelma McCurry of Due West and Joan Lands of Fork Shoals; and three grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Friday at Donalds Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Hill. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Sammy Woods, Jimmy Sims, Pelham Sims, Joel Hughes, Leo Arsenault and Steve Arsenault.
Visitation is from 1-2 Friday at the church.
The family will be at the home on Dec. 26.
Memorials may be made to Donalds Baptist Church.

Gladys P. Jennings
GREENWOOD — Gladys Price Jennings, 79, formerly of 306 Crescent Drive, widow of Alton Jennings, died Monday, December 23, 2002.
Born in April 28, 1923 in Wrightsville, Ga., she was a daughter of the late David Ald and Trudie Bell Blount Price. She worked for Parke-Davis and retired from Warner Lambert in 1982. She was member of Augusta Highway Baptist Church, Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Jennings of Greenwood and four brothers.
Surviving is a daughter, Marie Rosier of Gaston; four sisters, Thelma Green of Macon, GA, Vinnie Bishop of Cleveland, TN, Margaret Bowling of Warner Robins, GA and Allene Pilcher of Albany, GA; two brothers, H. Clyde Price of Maysville, NC and A.L. Price of Augusta, GA; four grandsons, Kevin Ashmore, Daniel Rosier and David Rosier, all of Gaston and Keith Ashmore of Columbia; three granddaughters, Genia Jones of Waterloo and Nancy Boone and Debra Rosier, both of Gaston; 13 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family respectfully request that flowers be omitted and memorials made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1741, Greenwood, SC, 29648.

Elsie Littlefield
ABBEVILLE — Elsie Campbell Littlefield, 77, formerly of Woodruff, widow of W.E. ‘Ed’ Littlefield, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Lafayette and Emma Mercer Campbell. She was a graduate of Woodruff High School and Cecil Business College. She was retired from Spartanburg County Health Department and was a member of Centere Pointe Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy L. Ashley of Honea Path.
Graveside services are at 11 Thursday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
Visitation is immediately following the services.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Kathy L. Ashley, 3193 Keowee Road, Honea Path.
Memorials may be made to Centere Pointe Presbyterian Church, Moore, S.C., 29369.

Cecil Posley
HODGES — Cecil Stanley Posley, 68, of 1307 Shirley Road, husband of Beatrice Arnold Posley, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Letmon and Marie Posley. He was educated in the public schools of Greenwood and was retired from Pratt and Whitney, a division of United Technology in East Hartford, Conn., where he was a welder.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Rose Posley Chambers and Marlene Posley, both of Springfield, Mass.; four brothers, William C. Posley and Roy Posley, both of Hodges, Thomas Posley of Detroit, Mich., and Arthur Posley of Augusta, Ga.; and seven grandchildren. Services are at 11 Friday at Good Hope Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Stanley Haltiwanger.
Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be on view after 1 Thursday at Robinson-Walker Funeral Service, Ware Shoals, and will be placed in the church at 10 Friday.
Pallbearers are Stanley Martin, Leonard Posley, Matthew Frazier, Melvin Jenkins, Reginald Posley and James Wilson.
Flower bearers are Theresa Lewis, Estelle Anderson, Daisy Wilson and Mamie Robinson. The family is at the home.

Inez G. Puckett
Inez Graham Puckett, 85, of 400 N. Emerald Road, Apt. F-4 Foxfield, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Hospice Nursing Home in Anderson.
Born in Marrietta, Ga., and reared in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Darrell Williams and Eula Butler Calhoun Williams. She was employed in nursing care as a patient sitter and was a former cosmetologist. She was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Bernard Puckett of Lansing, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Pamelar) W. Hill of Greenwood; a sister, Mrs. James (Eloise) Nelson of Ninety Six; eight grandchildren, four reared in the home, John Coleman of Greenwood, Annquenetter Puckett of the home, Nene Moosha Malulanin Berry and Burt Richardson, both of Greenwood; and eight great-grandchildren, one reared in the home, Antoinette Barr of the home.
Services are incomplete and will be announced by Robinson and Son Mortuary Inc.

Tommy Ritter
PIEDMONT — Thomas Milledge “Tommy” Ritter, 39, of Lot 10, Don Blakely Drive, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at his home.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Jack B. Ritter Sr. and Betty Vines Ritter. He was a painter and attended New Vision Praise & Worship Center in Mauldin and Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Greenville.
Survivors include three sisters, Susan Ritter Payton and Julia “Patty” Ritter Gonzalez, both of Greenville and Marcia Ritter Eslinger of Florence; two brothers, Jack B. Ritter Jr. of Fountain Inn and Daniel B. Ritter of Greenville.
Graveside services are at 3 Friday on the Greenway property in Callison.
The family will gather at Harley Funeral Home at 2 Friday and proceed to the gravesite.
Memorials may be made to the account of Thomas M. Ritter, c/o Harley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 777, Greenwood, S.C., 29648.

Jimmy Still
WEST COLUMBIA — James Paul “Jimmy” Still III, 52, of West Columbia, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in West Columbia.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Paul Still Jr. and Christine King Still. He was a 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was employed by Wachovia Bank in Columbia and was an antique dealer and collector. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his father of Greenwood; his mother of Greenwood; a sister, Connie Rentz of Greenwood; and a brother, Robert “Bob” Still of Hodges.
Graveside services are at 2 Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Lethco.
The family is at the home of his mother, 210 Forest Lane, Greenwood.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 242, Greenwood, S.C., 29648.
