Marion Lee Arnold
THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Marion Lee Arnold, 76, husband of Ann Slater Arnold, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, S.C., he was a son of the late Lee Roy and Della Geneva Duff Arnold. He was a Navy World War II veteran and a retired technical advisor for Industrial Boiler. A member of the VFW and the American Legion, he graduated from Greenwood High School in 1944 and attended Furman University and Erskine College. He was a member of Thomasville First United Methodist Church and the Sue McTier Sunday School Class of the church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Slater Arnold of Buford and John Faulkner of Greer, S.C.; a stepsister, Pat Kingsmore of Moore, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. today at Thomasville First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Revs. Leigh Anne Raynor and Weyman Cleveland. Burial is in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 425 N. Broad St., Thomasville, GA 31792.
Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home is in charge.

Myung Sook Beaty
Myung Sook Beaty, of 114 S. Hospital St., widow of Ernest Beaty Jr., died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at her home.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evening Star Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Willie Key.
Visitation is 7-8 tonight at Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.
Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home is in charge.

Allen D. Coleman
LAURENS — Allen Davis Coleman, 81, husband of Virginia Coggins Coleman, of 480 Lisbon Road, Laurens, South Carolina, died Monday morning, January 6, 2003 at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center.
Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of the late G. Lundie and Kate Polattie Coleman. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years and was church treasurer for 30 years. Mr. Coleman was also a U.S. Army World War II Veteran in the Pacific area.
He was a former member of the Laurens Kiwanis Club, a charter member of the Golden K of Laurens, a life member of American Legion, a Mason and a member of Palmetto Lodge No. 19, a Shriner and member of Hejaz Temple and Laurens Shrine Club.
Mr. Coleman was Laurens County Treasurer for 29 years and served as President of the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers, and Tax Collectors in 1964. He was President of The United Way of Laurens County in 1969. Upon his retirement in 1987, the Laurens County Council presented Mr. Coleman with the Henry Laurens Award for meritorious service to Laurens County.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Coggins Coleman of the home; four sons, George and Linda Roark Coleman of Greenwood, Jim and Nancy Paul Coleman of Laurens, Gary and Jan Davis Coleman of Laurens, and Larry and Chandra Strickland Coleman of Clinton; and seven grandchildren, Christy and Matt Caldwell of Laurens, Julie and Chad Huckabee of Spartanburg, Allen Coleman of Mount Pleasant, Jonathan, Sarah, and Kate Coleman of Laurens, and Lawrence Coleman of Clinton. He was predeceased by six sisters, Helen Aiton, Milbre Stockman, Louanna Skinner, Georgia Pinson, Nettie Bowie, and Kathryn Ott, and 2 brothers, Furman Coleman and Arthur Coleman.
Private burial will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at New Prospect Baptist Church conducted by Revs. John Huckaby, Marvin Dangerfield, Tony Crouch, and Burton Ott.
The family will be at the home, 480 Lisbon Road, and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary on Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4996 Highway 221S, Laurens, SC 29360.

Frances D. McCasline
TROY — Frances Devlin McCasline, 76, of Macwood Road, wife of Willie D. McCasline, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 at Magnolia Manor in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Clara Devlin. She was a homemaker and a member of Millway Baptist Church, where she was a mother of the church and a member of the senior choir, the church missionary and Women’s Aide Society No. 89.
Survivors include her husband of the home; four sons, Willie D. McCasline Jr. and Michael McCasline, both of Troy, Larry McCasline of McCormick and Nathan McCasline of Plum Branch; five daughters, Mrs. Moses (Joann) Lee and Mrs. Eric (Darline) Morton, both of Greenwood, Lois McCasline, Carolyn Smith and Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Holloway, all of Troy; a brother, David Devlin of Bradley; a sister, Clara Mangles of Bradley; 23 grandchildren, two reared in the home, Keya McCasline of Aiken and Kashif McCasline of the home; 15 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., Greenwood.

Ansel Miller
SALUDA — Ansel Bryant Miller, 79, of 146 Clemson Road, husband of Willette Gentry Miller, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at his home.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late John Jacob “Jake” and Lucia Belle Perry Miller. He was an Army World War II veteran and a member of Emory United Methodist Church. He retired as a maintenance engineer with Self Memorial Hospital, Greenwood, in 1988, after 32 years of service.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Miller Herlong Knapp of Silvis, Ill., and Kathy Miller Dozier of Whispering Pine, N.C.; five brothers, Travis Miller, Hilton Miller and John Wayne Miller, all of Aiken, Vaughn Miller of Lancaster and Roger Miller of Angier, N.C.; a sister, Lola Rae Aull of West Columbia; four grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Ramey Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Boyd Chewning and Horace E. Warwick. Burial is in Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Ronald Porter, 285 Forrest Hills Road, Saluda, SC 29138 or a charity of one’s choice.

Tom G. Robertson
PLUM BRANCH — Thomas “Tom” G. Robertson, 91, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 at Forest View Manor.
Born in old Edgefield County, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Rosa Lee Robertson. He was a farmer, a painter and a member of St. Paul Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mary R. Walker of Martinez, Ga.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Methodist Church, conducted by Dr. Samuel George III. Burial is in Robertson Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Henry D. Pruett, J. Johnson, Phillip Pruett, Charles Robertson, Wayne Graford and William Thomas Wells.
Strom Funeral Home, McCormick, is in charge.

James Edward Smith
ABBEVILLE — James Edward Smith, 49, of 124 Adams Drive, husband of Annie Ruth Smith, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at his home.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Ruth Smith and Earl Clinkscale. He was an employee of Abbeville Housing Authority and a member of Haigler Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Abbeville; a daughter, Lawanda Paul of the home; four sons, James S. Smith, Courtney Smith and Edward Smith, all of Abbeville and Reggie Smith of Spartanburg; two stepdaughters, Angela Coleman and Dianne Wharton, both of Wichita, Kan.; a stepson, Craig Wharton of Abbeville; five sisters, Mary Dawson and Mrs. Willie (Sarah) Jones, both of Abbeville, Mrs. Curt (Rebecca) Willis of Stone Mountain, Ga., Frances Davis of Richmond, Va. and Ella Radford of Atlanta; five brothers, George Smith, Howard (Amanda) Smith and Waymon (Rose) Smith, all of Abbeville, William (Brenda) Smith of Sumter and Willie Lee (Nellie) Smith of Belton; and six grandchildren, one reared in the home, K’Shawn Smith.
The family is at the home of his wife, 106 Woodlawn Drive, Abbeville.
Services will be announced by Brown and Walker Funeral Home.

Holley J. K. Sandri
ATLANTA, GA — Holley Jean Kortan Sandri, 38, of Atlanta, GA and London, England, died with her husband in a car accident in Thailand. Wife of Michael Victor Sandri; daughter of James Francis and Sylvia Holloway Kortan; granddaughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Kortan of Cleveland, Ohio and Gladys Holloway and the late Carl Holloway of Greenwood, South Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Carr Kortan McCuiston and Chip McCuiston. She was born in Greenwood, S.C., a graduate of St. Pius X High School, Clemson University and Georgia State University. She worked at the Weinberg Gallery and then Rexer-Parks until her move to London.
A recitation rosary will be at 6:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Spring Hill with visitation following until 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 10, 2003 at the Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, Interment following in Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, 1345 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30309. (404) 876-5859.

ABBEVILLE — Services for James Edward Smith, of 124 Adams Drive, are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Church of Christ, conducted by Brother Thomas Collier. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in Haigler Street Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family is at the home of his wife, Annie Ruth Smith, 106 Woodlawn Drive.

Hattie W. Wadsworth
DONALDS — Hattie Watt Wadsworth, 74, of 209 Mount Lebanon Road, formerly of Roebuck, widow of Henry Wadsworth Jr., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Hopey Hunter Watt. She was a member of Flat Rock A.M.E. Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include two sisters, Jessie B. Martin of Due West and Minnie Ruth Miller of Anderson; two brothers, John S. Watt of Anderson and Leo Watt of Iva.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Flat Rock A.M.E. Church, Level Land, conducted by the Revs. Wayman Coleman III, Ozenia Hartfield, Johnny Waller and Robert Johnson. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 7-7:30 tonight at Holloway’s Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of her brother Leo Watt, 1282 Keowee Road, Iva.

Charles R. Anderson
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Charles Reginald Anderson, 40, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at George Washington University Hospital.
Born in Greenwood, S.C., he was a son of Lola M. Anderson and the late James T. “Rabbit” Anderson. He attended Greenwood High School and Howard University and was employed by the National Institute of Health and CoVance Laboratories.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; three sisters, Mable Felder and Becky Hughes, both of Baltimore and Sallie L. Rosenburgh of Greensboro, N.C.; six brothers, Willie J. “Billy” Anderson, Greg Anderson, Darryl Anderson and Robert “Corey” Anderson, all of Greenwood, Nathan Anderson of Portland, Ore., and Andri Anderson of Washington , D.C.
Memorial services were Dec. 21 at Marshall Funeral Home in Suitland, Md.

Genevieve Schultz Martin, 85, of 106 Sheldon Ave., widow of Ralph O. Martin, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Pallbearers are Reggie Smith, Bill Briggs, Donald Belton, Willie Ed Brown, Frankie Wilson and Benjamin Wideman.

William G. Mobley
William Glenn Mobley, 48, of Whitten Center, Clinton, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003.

Louise Wilson Mosley
AIKEN — Louise Wilson Mosley, 67, of 326 Johessee Drive, widow of James E. Mosley, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003 at University Hospital in Augusta.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Isiah and Lizzie Crawford Wilson. She was a member of Mount Alpha Baptist Church, Ward, and retired textile worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia E. Mosley of Washington , D.C., and Wendy W. Mosley of Aiken; a son, Ralph Wilson of Aiken; six sisters, Mary Williams of Fort Washington , Md., Leora Harris of Washington , D.C., Queen Williams of North Augusta, Alberta Burton of Beech Island, Blanche Reddish of Aiken and Saddie Watkins of Mims, Fla.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Mine Creek Baptist Church, Saluda, conducted by the Rev. George Key. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews, and flower bearers are nieces.
The family is at the home.

Dr. Bruce Neeley
ATLANTA, GA — Dr. Bruce Neeley of Atlanta, Georgia died Saturday, January 4, 2003. Dr. Neeley was in his 24th year of practicing psychiatry, most recently in Atlanta and previously in Durham, North Carolina. Born in Greenwood, South Carolina, Dr. Neeley received his medical training at the Medical University of South Carolina, John Umstead Hospital, and Duke University Medical Center. He served as President of the Medical Staff at Durham County General Hospital and Chief of Clinical Services at the Emory University Medical Center. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Neeley worked for mental health insurance parity, psychopharmacologic education, and the rights of the mentally ill. His dedication to his patients, the community, and the practice of psychiatry merited the honor of a lifetime Fellowship in the American Psychiatric Association.
His wife, Sara Neeley, daughters, Stephanie Kadel and Lindsay Neeley, brother, Dennis Neeley, grandson, Sam Kadel, and countless others will miss his wisdom, knowledge, irreverent and unflagging sense of humor, and profound compassion. All are welcome to attend a viewing on the evening of Wednesday, January 7 from 7-9 p.m. and a memorial service the morning of Thursday, January 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Oglethorpe Hill.
