William ‘Bill’ Floyd Falls
PELZER, SC — William “Bill” Floyd Falls, 65, husband of Ruth Campbell Falls, of 142 Snow Road, died February 13, 2003.
A native of Greenwood, SC, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Emily York Falls.
Mr. Falls was a graduate of Lander University, Greenwood, and a retiree of Stone Manufacturing/Umbro USA. He was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Angie Falls of Greenville, and Phil and Kathy Falls of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Campbell Falls and Walker Falls of Greenville; sister, Sara McDowell of Greenville; and brother, John Thomas Falls, Jr. of Greenwood.
Services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with the Rev. Thomas Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Nettie L. Gillion
NINETY SIX — Nettie Leopard Gillion, 90, formerly of 102 Parkland Circle, widow of the Rev. Johnie W. Gillion Jr., died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late William Daniel and Betty Griffith Leopard.
She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church, Saluda.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jessie (Betty) Turner of Greenwood; three sons, Johnie Edward Gillion of Honea Path, Curtis Eugene Gillion of Ninety Six and William Thomas “Billy” Gillion of Saluda; a sister, Estelle Butler of Saluda; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. today at Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church, conducted by the Revs. Louie Murray, Ben Edwards and Ray Massey. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Eddie Gillion, Jimmy Turner, Lamar Turner, Stevie Taylor, Billy Gillion Jr. and Meredith Havard.
Visitation is 2-3 today at the church.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Betty Turner, 102 Wiley Court, Greenwood.
Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge.

Carolyn McGaha
HONEA PATH — Carolyn Annette Atkins McGaha, 56, of 125 Franklin St., wife of Carl Alton “Doolin” McGaha, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of Robert and Dorothy Smith Atkins. She retired from Maxxim Medical and was a member of Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was vice president of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her parents of Honea Path; a son, Paul McGaha of Honea Path; two daughters, Lisa Allen of Pelzer and Mandy Gawel of Easley; two brothers, Robert Stanley “Sam” Atkins and Barney A. Atkins, both of Honea Path; a sister, Tammy Shirley of Honea Path; and two grandchildren.
Services are at 3 today at Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Revs. Barry Bryan and Charlie Driggers. Burial is in the Garden of Memories. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Visitation is 1-3 today at the church.
The family is at the home.

Anne B. McGrath
McCORMICK — Anne Brown McGrath, 85, of 214 Fifth Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 in North Charleston.
Born in McCormick, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Michael and Hettie Lois Creswell McGrath. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1940 and was a nurse for 25 years, serving at Mecklenburg County Health Department. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and lived in McCormick for 26 years.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Mary Fleming of McCormick and Georgia King “Jackie” Harris of Summerville.
Services are 1:30 today at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, conducted by Father Richard Harris.
Burial is in McCormick City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bert Storey, Derry Storey, Brandt Vickery, Reid Creswell, Billy Creswell and Tommy McGrath.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Strom Funeral Home is in charge.

Gladys Rish
Gladys Weathersbee Rish, 89, of 112 Blyth Road, widow of Veron Rish, died February 14, 2003 at her residence.
Born in Langley, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Daisy Mitchell Weathersbee. She was retired from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant, where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club and was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church and the Ladies Bible Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Rish, and grandson Dennis Allen Haralson.
Surviving is a daughter, Betty Haralson of Columbia; a sister, Elaine Evans of Greenwood; and two grandchildren, Amanda Rish and Daniel Ward.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Leland S. Scott and Rev. Reuel Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Cabello, Daniel Ward, Milton Fowler, Roger Haralson, Jimmy Vaughn, Hilton Dodgen and Billy Thigpen.
Honorary escort will be members of the Ladies Bible Sunday School Class of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church.
The body will be taken to the home, where the family will receive friends. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM Sunday.
Harley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rubenia Franklin Chamberlain
McCORMICK — Services for Rubenia Franklin Chamberlain are 1 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church conducted by the Pastor Rev. Robert Haskell. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are church officers and friends.
Visitation is 5-7 tonight at Walker Funeral Home.
The family is at the home, 313 Carolina St.

Caroline W. Coleman
NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Caroline Williams Coleman, 83, widow of Will Coleman, died on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Mercy Suburban General Hospital.
Born in Saluda, S.C., she was a daughter of Jack Tilman and Hattie Minick Miles. She was a member of the New Salem CME Church, Saluda, S.C., the Women Home Aide Society and a retired employee of the Saluda School District.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Robinson, Trevase Pa.; three daughters, the Rev. Rose E. Nicholson, Emmie Wallace and Michelle Philippeaux, all of Norristown, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Daisy B. Goode of Greensboro, N.C. and Dorothy Brooks, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Clara Mason, Philadelphia, Pa; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are noon Tuesday at New Salem CME Church conducted by the Rev. Doris Hicks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Butler & Sons Funeral Home, Saluda, S.C., is in charge.

Otis ‘Teem’ Mims
PLUM BRANCH — Otis “Teem” Mims, husband of Azielee Crawford Mims, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 at The Medical College of George Hospital.
Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late Willie and Annie Wells Mims. He was a member of Pine Grove A.M.E. Church where he served on the Trustee Board, Senior Choir and the Men’s Chorus, and was a former class leader. He was a member of the New Era Masonic Lodge of Augusta, Ga.
Survivors include a wife of the home; a daughter, Helen “Jean” Leverette of Plum Branch; a son, Rufus Mims of Hephzibah, Ga.; a sister, Allean Searles of Plum Branch; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of his daughter on Pine Grove Church Road., Plum Branch.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home.

Sherry Pulley
LAURENS — Sherry Denise Pulley, 38, of 61 Naaman’s Lane, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at her home.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Jody Allen Pulley of Greenwood and the late Betty Jones Pulley. She graduated in 1982 from Ware Shoals High School and was a welder at B.F. Shaw.
Survivors include her father; her stepmother, Jan Gambrell Pulley, Greenwood; a sister, Joan Moosa, Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Ray Pulley and David Pulley, both of Ware Shoals; a stepsister, Jan Langley, Hodges. and a stepbrother, Steve Fields, Due West.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are cousins.
Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of her father, 108 Everleen Court., Ponderosa Heights, Greenwood.

Louise Sparks
Louise Cullum Sparks, 83, of 312 Ridgeway, widow of Harry W. Sparks, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 in Oakridge, Tenn.
Born in Selma, Ala., she was a daughter of the late Joseph Earl Sr. and Leila Cowart Cullum. She retired as a dental assistant from the practice of Dr. F. Erwin Abell and was a member of North Side Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay S. Carter of the home; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Blyth Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Jeff Lethco.
Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Corine Theodore
Corine (Smith) Theodore, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at her home at 423 Bintage Road, Raintree Subdivision, Greenwood.
She was the widow of Claborne Theodore Sr. Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Eloise Anderson Smith. She attended the public schools of Laurens County and retired from Greenwood Schools District 50 where she worked in the dietary deptartment at Southside Junior High. She was a member of Smyrna A.M.E. Church, Waterloo where she was a stewardess. She was also a member of Raintree Community Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Willie (Susie) Williams of Ninety Six, Mrs. David (Deborah) Suber of Anderson and Loretta Sloan of the home; two brothers, John Smith Sr. and William Smith, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, four reared in the home, Tiffany Theodore, Tesica Sloan, Dominique Sloan and Erika Sloan; and a great-grandchild, Solomon Theodore of the home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary.

James Traynham
BELTON — James Traynham, husband of Genie Traynham, of 152 Pearson Road., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at Hillcrest Hospital.
The family is at the home of Helen Davis Smith, 4 Parkway, Ware Shoals.
Services will be announced by Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals.

Joseph Hugh Watts
EASLEY — Joseph Hugh Watts, 91, formerly of 446 Byrd St., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003 at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Archie Watts and Alice Cunningham Watts. He was a member and trustee of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Lee Watts of Prosperity; a daughter, Yvonne Cunningham of Waterloo; two brothers, Carl Watts of Washington and George Watts of Greenwood; five sisters, Lillie Mae Brown of Florence; Mozelle Milton of Washington ; Catherine Cates of Cambridge Heights, N.Y., Eunice Kilgore and Ann Morris of Greenwood.
The family is at the home of a brother, George Watts 446 Byrd St., Greenwood.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

Alvin Dukes
JOHNSTON — Alvin Dukes, 57, of 569 Rocky Creek Road, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003 at Medical University of Charleston, S.C.
