Edward Parks

COLUMBIA — Services for Edward F. Parks, 69, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at First Nazareth Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 3-7 tonight at McCollom Funeral Home. Born in Columbia to Felix and Elberta Fuller Parks, he died November 10, 2004. Surviving: brothers, William, Thomas, Larry, Otis, Earl Parks; sisters, Ophelia Womack, Mary Thomas.

Edward Moore

LEESVILLE — Services for Edward L. Moore, 89, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday from Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothea Sharpe and Rev. Al Potter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Barr-Price Funeral Home, Historic B-L chapel is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church, Worship & Music Program, 2347 Summerland Hwy., Leesville, SC 29070.

Mr. Moore died Friday. Born in Leesville a son of the late Calvin and Elvira Hare Moore. He was an Army veteran of WWII and retired as Lab Superintendent with the Savannah River Plant (DuPont). He was a member of Mt. Hebron Lutheran Church, 100 Club Lutheran Men, Lutheran Seminary Auxiliary Life Member, VFW, American Legion, Delmar Community Club, Saluda Co. Mental Health Assoc., and past Chairman of Lexington Co. School District Three Board.

Surviving are his wife, Emily Shealy Moore; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Kenneth) Hoagland of Columbia, Sharon (Jim) Robison of Wallace, NC; stepson, Gary L. Hogan of Leesville; brother, Clarence Moore of CA; sister, Videssa Moore of Saluda; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Cleo Snelgrove Moore; daughter, Dorothy Moore, stepsons, Danny and Byron Hogan.

Rhonald McKnight

LAKE CITY — A graveside service for Rhonald Eddie “Ronnie” McKnight, 56, widower of Elaine Ward McKnight, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Lake City Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Brockington Funeral Home. Born in Florence Co. to Acue and Bernice Weatherford McKnight, he died Nov. 13, 2004. Surviving are son, Craig McKnight; brothers, Wayne, James McKnight; three grandchildren.

Verona Lynch

TIMMONSVILLE — Services and burial for Verona Mae Keefe Lynch, 72, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church. Layton-Anderson Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Florence Co. to Andrew and Rowena Lyerly Keefe, she died Nov. 12, 2004. Surviving: husband, Carroll Lynch; son, Rudolph Lynch; sisters, Crystalene Daniels, Harriett Driggers, Josephine Anderson; grandchildren, Donna, Emmie Lynch.

Asa Allen

TEGA CAY — Services and burial for Asa Jay Allen, 3, are 11 a.m. Monday at Zoar UMC. Visitation: 6-8 tonight at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill. Born to Christopher and Donna Prater Allen, he died Nov. 12, 2004. He was a member of St. Johns UMC, Rock Hill. Surviving: parents, sister, Zoe Allen; grandparents, James Lloyd, Delena Prater, Lew, Kaye Allen; great-grandparents; uncles; aunts; others.

Myron Allen

GRAY'S HILL — Services for Myron Quinn Allen, 25, are 1 p.m. Tuesday (wake services 7-8 tonight) at Gray’s Hill Full Gospel Deliverance Church with burial in Perriclair Cemetery, Ann's Points. Marshel’s Wright-Donaldson Home For Funerals, Beaufort, is in charge. Born in Beaufort to Don and Betty Brown Allen, he died Nov. 9, 2004. Surviving are son, Omega Allen; parents; one brother; three sisters; others.

David Bell

MT. PLEASANT — Rev. David B. Bell, Jr., 71, died November 11th at his home in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Rev. Bell was born in Aiken, SC on July 16, 1933 to B. David Bell and Susie Elizabeth Hendrix Bell.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dr. Anne Christenberry, Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Jackie Owens, one brother, Phillip Bell, two sons, Brian and Michael Bell, and five grandchildren, Courtney, Nicole, Steven, Benton, and Allison Bell, all of Augusta, GA and North Augusta, SC.

David served in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps during the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy and Furman University. He earned graduate degrees from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Pepperdine University. His Christian ministry included Trinity Baptist Church in Spencer, North Carolina, and in South Carolina, where he was pastor of Laurel Baptist Church, Greenville, Shaw Heights Baptist Church, Sumter, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Trenton, and Northbridge Baptist Church, Charleston. After retirement, he served as interim pastor and guest minister in a number of churches in the Charleston area.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Trenton, SC, followed by burial in the churchyard. Rev. Phillip Burden will be officiating. Family and friends will be received the evening before from 5-7 at Rowland Funeral Home, North Augusta, Sc.

Pallbearers are Phillip Bell, Jr., Cameron Bell, Ryan Bell, Timothy Bell, and Scott Moman, all David’s nephews, and Dr. W.S. Christenberry.

All friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 at Ashley River Baptist Church, Charleston.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International or Lutheran Hospice of Charleston.

Rowland Funeral Home of North Augusta is handling arrangements.

Agnes Dunlap

SUMTER — A graveside service for Agnes M. Dunlap, 86, widow of Dewey Dunlap, is 2 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium is in charge. Born in Marlboro Co. to Wesley and Dessie Mathis, she died Nov. 13, 2004. Surviving are daughters, Annie McLeod, Nancy Brabham, Linda Lewis; sister, Virginia Reynolds; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Kim Fidler

CAMDEN — Services for Michael Kim Fidler, 48, of Camden, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday November 15, 2004 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Reverend Bruce Hancock will officiate. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to The Learning Disability Association of South Carolina, 537 Creekridge Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 or The Learning Disability Association of Georgia, 130 W. Wieuca Rd., Suite 202, Atlanta, GA 30342.

Mr. Fidler died Friday, November 12, 2004. Born in Milledgeville, he was the son of the late Kemp and Fay Horton Fidler. He was employed with WalMart.

Surviving are his sister, Rosemary Jackson and her husband, Don of Milledgevillle, GA; his uncle, Robert “Bobby” Horton of Camden; his aunt, Anne Pendleton of Camden; several cousins.

Harold Garrett Sr.

MULLINS — Mr. Harold James Garrett, Sr., age 73 of Mullins died Friday, November 12, 2004. Born in Nichols, SC he was a son of the late Thomas C. Garrett, Sr. and Cora Rogers Garrett. Mr. Garrett was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church, the Who-So-Ever-Will Sunday School Class, a member of the American Legion Post #89, a member of the VFW Post #6122, a member of Mullins Chamber of Commerce, he was a retired Gunnery Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War where he was a member of the Chosen Few, he also served during the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Visitation was from 6 till 8 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Meares Funeral Home, Mullins, SC.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Mullins First Baptist Church, burial will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Dr. Lewis E. McCormick, Rev. Jim Kirkland, Rev. Jimmy Hayes and Rev. James A. Holliday will be officiating.

Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Pat Collins Garrett of the home; one son and his wife, Harold James “Jim” Garrett, Jr. and Paula of Summerville, SC; three daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Arthur Fields of Charleston, SC, Debra and Donald Coker of Summerville, SC, Brenda and James Holliday of Lake View, SC; one brother, Tom Garrett of Mullins; five grandchildren, Shawn Hart, Brian Coker, Adam Coker, Sarah Field, Katie Holliday.

Memorials may be made to Mullins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 443 Mullins, SC 29574 or to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 13403 Hwy. 19 Nichols, SC 29581.

Lever Gleaton

SUMTER — Services for Lever Randolph Gleaton, 86, are 3 p.m. Monday (visitation 4-6 tonight) at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory; burial in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Born in Orangeburg Co. to Daniel and Gladys Gleaton, he died Nov. 13, 2004. Surviving: wife, Louise Tisdale Gleaton; sons, William, Lever Gleaton Jr.; siblings, Olin Gleaton, Shelby Counts; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Nathel Hay

WILLISTON — Services for Nathel Hay will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing is 1-9 tonight at Simmons Funeral Home. Born to Nathel Johnson and Verna Hay, he died Nov. 10, 2004. Surviving are his parents; brothers, Monte, Christopher Hay, Nijel Johnson, Seresh Major; sisters, Connie Staley, Quetta Hammond, Kaia Murdaugh; uncles; aunts; others.

Clarence Hendrix

LANCASTER — A graveside service for Clarence Harvin Hendrix, 90, is 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lancaster Memorial Park. Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel is in charge. Born to Clayton and Tennie White Hendrix, he died Nov. 13, 2004. Surviving are son, Dr. John Hendrix Sr.; sister, Mary Teigen; nieces, Mary Savey, Kathleen Stomberg, Judy Kumm; nephew, Danny Jones; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
