Lamar L. Collins
Lamar L. Collins, 79, of 1015 E. Northside Drive, husband of Anne Bryan Collins, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at his home.
Born in Cleveland, MS, he was a son of the late Charles L. and Bertha Barnhill Collins. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years of service and served in the US Navy, where he was a Seabee. He attended Main Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife of the home; a son, L. Lloyd Collins, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Sue C. Peeler of Greenwood; a sister, Ola Mae Donahoo of Millington, TN; a brother, Charles L. Collins, Jr. of Clinton, MS; four grandchildren, David Peeler, Shannon Peeler, Steven Collins and Richard Collins; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be David Peeler, Steven Collins, Richard Collins, Stan Heard, Charles Clinemyer, Peter Branyon, Ricky Holley and Charles Roland.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m.
The family is at the home.
It is respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials made to the Main Street United Methodist Church library fund, 211 N. Main Street, Greenwood, SC 29646.

Sara Frances Davis
CLINTON — Sara Frances Davis, 64, of 202 South Bell St., wife of Willie Roselvet Davis, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004 at Laurens County Hospital.
Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Florence Dunlap Butler. She was a former member of the Wateree Bapt. Church, Mountville, S.C. and an active member of the adult choir. She later joined the Apostle Church of Colman Road, Clinton. She attended The Bell St. High School and was employed with Whitten Center as a M-RS.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Willie Davis Jr., Steve Davis and Pernell Davis, all of Clinton; five grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Minnie Butler of Clinton and Mattie R. Watts of Cincinnati; three brothers, James Thomas Butler of Clinton, George Butler of Laurens and Ernest Butler of Washington , D.C.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Child’s Funeral Home. Burial is in the Wateree Bapt. Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home.

James Ellenberg
NINETY SIX — James Franklin Ellenberg, 80, resident of 209 Eddy Rd., husband of Frances McDaniel Ellenberg, died January 10, 2004 at his home.
Born in Georgia, October 2, 1923, he was a son of the late T.C. and Maude Lipford Ellenberg. He was retired from Greenwood Mills, Adams Plant where he was superintendent of the cloth room.
A member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church and the Men’s Bible Class of the church, he was also a member of the Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club. He was twice married, first to the late Saralene Foshee Ellenberg and was also predeceased by a daughter, Treva Ellenberg.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Roberta Horne of Saluda; and a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Brenda Horne of Saluda; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Ninety Six First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Justice and Rev. Joseph Ouzts officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Len Horne, Allen Kelly, Kenneth Kelly, Craig Keesler, Dave Waldrop, Danny Hendrix, Ronnie Hendrix and Scott Ouzts.
Honorary escort will be members of the Men’s Bible Class along with Ben Milner.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home in Greenwood and will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Monday.
The family is at the home of Eddy Rd. and will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 Sunday afternoon.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.

Leroy Graham
SALUDA — Leroy Graham, 67, of 1034 Pen Creek Road, husband of Sarah Bell Lurk Graham, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004 at his home.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Robert “Jake” and Ida Lott Graham. He was a member of the Lockhart Baptist Church and a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Loretta Graham of the home; two brothers, Gary Graham and Michael Charlie Graham, both of Saluda; two sisters, Minnie Ruth Holloway of Aiken, and Gladys Holloway of Saluda.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lockhart Baptist Church Cemetery. In case of rain the services will be at the funeral home.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are family and friends.
The family is at the home.

Margaret Mitchell
SALUDA — Margaret Yarbrough Brendle Mitchell, 77, of 405 4th Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004.
Services will be announced by Ramey Funeral Home.

Rachel Parks
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. — Rachel Robinson Parks, 95, of 900 Franklin Ave., widower of James L. Parks, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at Orzac Geriatric Franklin Medical Nursing Home.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Janie Peterson Robinson. She was a former member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Hodges, a member of Allen A.M.E. Church in Queen, N.Y. and a domestic worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Winston Parks of Queens, N.Y. and Jamie Parks of Dazell, S.C.; seven daughters, Ada Alexis, Brooklyn, N.Y., Emma Williams and Eula Brunston, both of Queens, N.Y., Rosa Mae Wideman and Eileen Butler, both of Greenville, Mary Lee Butler, Greenwood and Fannie Gilbert, Hodges; a brother, Coley Robinson, Detroit, Mich.; 45 grandchildren and 84 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a niece, Mr. and Mrs. David (Bessie) Martin Sr., 134 Empire Circle, Aspen Heights.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, Greenwood.

Rita Mae Sweezy
Rita Mae Sweezy, 62, of 1010 Grace St. Apt. 2-C, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home.

Mazella T. Allen
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Mazella Theodore Allen, 85, formerly of Greenwood, S.C., widow of Clinton Allen, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2004 at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn.
Born and reared in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Cleve and Hattie Hill Theodore. She was a former member of Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, Ninety Six, S.C. She moved to New York in the early 1940s, becoming a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Zinnie Ruth Sobers of Seattle and Willie Mae Watkins of Brooklyn. The family is at the home of a sister, Willie Mae Watkins, 547 A McDonough St.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at House of Hills Funeral Home, 1000 St. Johns Place, conducted by the Rev. M. Marquette Peace Jr.

Mary ‘Lizzie’ Belcher
Mary “Lizzie” Belcher, 70, of 224 Reynolds Ave., died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at her home.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Oliver Belcher Sr. and Maggie Cowans Belcher. She attended Greenwood public schools and was formerly employed with Nantex Corp. She was a member of Milway Baptist Church, Troy, and the Women’s Aide Society No. 89.
Survivors include four sons, Robert L. Belcher of Columbia, David Lee Belcher of Greenwood, Johnny E. Belcher of Fayetteville, N.C., and Frederick Belcher of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Lynda B.) Butler of Greenwood; a brother, Charlie O. Belcher Jr. of Winston Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Effie T. Foster of Winston Salem and Maggie Cantlow of Columbia; 20 grandchildren, two reared in the home, Darrin L. Gilbert of Greenwood and Frederick Belcher Jr. of the home; 21 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of the Rev. Michael and Lynda Butler, 421 E. Henrietta St.
Services will be announced by Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc.

Robert M. Johnson
Robert Marshall Johnson, 71, of 106 Hillside Road, husband of Carol Steffensen Johnson, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at his home.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Harold W. and Dorothy Olofson Johnson. He retired from Hazeltine Corp. in Long Island, N.Y., and was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, William Marshall Johnson of Greenwood and Edward Steffen Johnson of Long Island; a brother, Russell Johnson of Ashland, Va.; four grandchildren.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. John Setzler.
Visitation is after the service.
The family is at the home.

Luther ‘Blackie’ Jones
EVANSTON, Ill. —Memorial services for Luther “Blackie” Jones, of 1748 Gray St., are 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh A.M.E. Church, McCormick, S.C., conducted by the Rev. James Louden III, pastor.
He died Jan. 5.
The family is at the home of a sister, Claudia Jones, Apt. A-4 Westowne Subdivision, McCormick.
Walker Funeral Home, McCormick, is in charge.

Dorothy B. Henley
SALUDA — Dorothy Bonham Henley, 60, of 111 Pine St., wife of Samuel Henley, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood.
Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Asbie and Corine Brooks Bonham. She was a 1961 graduate of Riverside High School and a bus driver for GLEAMNS. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the EverReady Food Club.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Sonya Henley of Columbia; a brother, Roosevelt Bonham of Washington , D.C.; two sisters, Miriam Coleman of Washington , D.C., and Perene Johnson of Hinesville, Ga.; two stepsons, Randolph Henley and Larry Henley, both of Saluda; three stepdaughters, Veronica Coleman and Felisa Henley, both of Saluda and Doris Jean Henley of Lakeland, Fla.; and step-grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Johnny C. Gantt, assisted by the Rev. Calvin Robinson. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are friends of the family.
Flower bearers are co-workers.
The family is at the home.

H. Bernard Horne
SALUDA, SC — Horace Bernard Horne, 56, of 871 Yarborough Rd., died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Born in Saluda County, he was the son of Geneva Butler Horne Hancock and the late Wilbert Ethridge Horne. He was owner of W.E. Horne & Son in Saluda, Horne’s General Store in Chappells and Horne’s Cupboard in Ward. Mr. Horne was Chairman of Saluda County Council, Chairman of Tri-County Solid Waste Authority Board and Vice-Chairman of Upper Savannah Council of Governments. He was a member of Three Rivers Solid Waste Authority, Founding member of Saluda County Ambulance Service, Founding member of Old Town Ruritan Club and a former member of Saluda Jaycees. Mr. Horne was a Licensed Auctioneer and was former Magistrate for Saluda County. He established the first rural fire protection in Saluda County, he was a life long resident and businessman in Saluda County and was a member of Zoar UnitedMethodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Judy Gragg Horne, two sons and a daughter-in-law, T. Hardee and Allison Horne of Saluda and Toby G. Horne of Saluda; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheree H. and Terry Bowick of McCormick, one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kathy Horne of Saluda, his mother and step-father, Geneva Butler Horne Hancock and Ernest Hancock of Saluda, two step-sisters, Charlyn Staubs of Saluda and Ann Coker of Greenwood, one step-brother, Donald Hancock of Camp Lejune, NC and four grandchildren, Adam T. Horne, Leason G. Horne, Horace Curry Bowick andKayla Santos.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat McCain and Rev. Edward Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Friday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Zoar United Methodist Church, c/o Nell Gardner, 152 Shiloh Rd., Saluda, SC.

Terry Hough
NINETY SIX — Edward Terry Hough, 43, of 2104 Carter Road, husband of Kelly Nunnery Hough, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004.
Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Joey E. “Mutt” and Louise Terry Hough. He was a 1978 graduate of Greenwood High School, a former Cincinnati Milacron employee and current owner of Hough Automation. He served in the Marine Corps and was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents of Greenwood; a daughter, Austin Hough of the home; a son, Kevin Nunnery Hough of the home; and a brother, Chris Hough of Greenwood.
Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Charles Caldwell.
Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are James Roberts, Marc Hess, Kenny Hinson, Berry Hinson, Ronnie Terry and Tracy Terry.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of his parents, 724 Fairforest Drive.
