Charleea C. Wright
KINGSLAND, Ga. — Charleea Chauntelle Wright, 13, of 131 Lake Jordan Blvd., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at the Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Greenwood, S.C., she was a daughter of Paul R. and Bettye Ouzts Wright. She was a student at Camden Middle School in Kingsland and a member of the band and Sign Language Club. She was a member of Bethlehem Church of God Holiness in Greenwood.
Survivors include her parents of the home; a sister, Catryna Wright of the home; maternal grandmother, Bertha Davis Ouzts of Greenwood; paternal grandparents, Naomia Wright and James T. Edwards of Philadelphia.
Services were Saturday at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Kingsland, with Elder Carter T. Peek presiding and the Rev. Leon Washington officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Mary.
Sunset Funeral Home, Kingsland, was in charge.

Odessa O. Canfield
ABBEVILLE — Odessa Oliver Canfield, 94, formerly of Old Abbeville Highway, widow of Jesse Odell Canfield, died Saturday, February 07, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Charlotte, NC. She was retired from Plant #5 of Greenwood Mills where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy “Dot” Gardner.
Surviving are a daughter Mrs. W.O. “Vivian” Teasley of Greenville; two sons, Jesse Odell Canfield Jr. of Greenwood and Leonard “Pete” Canfield of Abbeville; a half sister, Thelma Gibson of Spartanburg; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mary Teasley and Rev. Emily Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be John Gardner Dwayne, Rick Canfield, Ronnie Nicholson, Tom Steele and Alan Tucker.
The body is at Harley Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, c/o Clarence Latham, 528 Bolt Ave., Greenwood, SC, 29646.

Nancy E. Stevens Harrison
McCORMICK — Nancy E. Stevens Harrison, widow of Ransom Harrison Sr., died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at her home.
Born in McCormick County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Arthur and Callie Lanier Stevens. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Edgefield County where she served on the Deaconess Board, the Missionary Society and was a past treasurer of the Sunday School. She was also a member of the Springfield and Mount Moriah Burial Aide Societies.
Survivors include a daughter, Louvenia Harrison of the home; two sons, Ransom Harrison Jr. and Howard Harrison, both of McCormick; a brother, Willie A. Stevens of Plum Branch; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family is at the home, Rte. 1, Harrison Road, Callison Section.
Services will be announced by Walker Funeral Home.

Ray Hogan
HODGES — Claude Ray Hogan, 61, of 208 Pine Drive, husband of Patricia Ann Schurz Hogan, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James Thomas and Evelyn Still Hogan. He was a former correction officer with the McCormick Correction Institute, an Air Force Veteran of Vietnam and a member of Durst Avenue Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Britt Michelle Lelinski of Milwaukee, Wis.; a stepson, Bradley Bladon of Columbia; a sister, Shirley Ruth Tipton of Augusta, Ga. and a grandson.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Dr. Rev. Shirley Ruth Tipton. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Dennis Darley, Chief Dept. Claude E. Gable Jr., Bobby Riley, Jimmy Baten, Ray Scott, Billy Ray Mitchell and Brent Emerson.
Honorary escort is Richard Skelton.
Visitation is 1-2 Monday at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.

Gracie B. Sanders
Gracie Burton Sanders, 81 widow of Willie Lee Sanders, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at National Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late John and Minnie Pugh Burton.
Survivors include a son, Robert Lee Watts of Prosperity; two sisters, Maggie Morris and Mary Byrd, both of Columbia; two nieces, reared in the home, Mary Prince and Rena Nelson; five granddaughters and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ulysses Parks, assisted by the Rev. Joe Mason. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are James Sanders, Sidney Mayes III, Sammie Cooper and friends of the family.
Flower bearers are Edith Childs, Thelma Carter, Lucy Mason, Mattie Fulton, Pearl Lee Anderson, Polly Brown and Tonitra Spearman.
The family is at the home of a niece, Mary Prince, 143 Hackett Ave., Greenwood. Parks Funeral Home is in charge.

Georgia S. Tumblin
CLINTON — Georgia S. “Mama Dot” Tumblin, 84, formerly of Glendale Manor, widow of Fred L. Tumblin, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 in Laurens County Hospital.
Born in Gray Court, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lou Ellen Satterfield. She was retired from Clinton Mills, was the former owner of the Weather Vane and the oldest member of Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Rev. A.L. “Bud” Tumblin of Greenwood; a daughter, Mrs. Mack (Shirley) Nelson of Clinton; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Community Baptist Church. Burial is in Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Gray Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Shirley Nelson, 108 Fair Drive, Clinton.

Carlton Anderson
DUE WEST — Carlton Anderson, 78, of 1015 Bethlehem Church Road, husband of Eloise Donald Anderson, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at his home.
Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Edgar and Mary Butler Anderson. He attended public schools, was retired from Due West Oil Mill and was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board for many years.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Rev. James Marvin Donald, Due West; four brothers, Sylvester Anderson and A.D. Anderson, both of Ware Shoals, Clinton Anderson, Mauldin, and Perry Anderson, New York; three sisters, Douglas Aiken, Honea Path, Earlee Johnson, New York and Eula Mae Morton, Ware Shoals; 12 grandchildren, 2 reared in the home; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Friendship Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Wendell Cox, William Cowans, A.D. Anderson Jr., James Kay and John C. Eichelberger. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Flower bearers are nieces.
Honorary escorts are Deacons and Deaconess.
Visitation is 7-8 tonight at Robinson-Walker Funeral Service, Ware Shoals.

Dorothy Powell Boggero, 88, of 1408 Parkway, widow of James Ernest Boggero Jr., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late George and Permelia Ransom Powell. She was retired from the Mathews Plant of Greenwood Mills and was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday school class.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Burnett of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Melody McInville of Greenwood; a son, James Earnest Boggero of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a sister, Margaret Powell of Greenwood; a brother, George “Po” Powell of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Sandy Scott. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Larry Mobley, Michael Alexander, Horace Files, James McInville, Denton Jefferson and Barry Boggero.
Honorary escorts are the staff and residents of the Sterling House.

Rhetta Evangeline Davenport Ethridge, 59, of 136 Wisewood Circle, wife of Larry Ethridge, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Onita “Nell” Weathers and the late James W. Davenport. She was a housewife and a member of Harris Baptist Church where she was a member of the Esterian Sunday School Class and Choir.
Survivors include her husband of the home; mother of Greenwood; a son, Eric Ethridge of Greenwood; two daughters, Stacy Ethridge of Sumter and Lisa E. Brown of Greenwood; a sister, Pam Latham of Greenwood and a brother, Ted Davenport of Spartanburg.
Services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Thomas. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Bill McCollum, Bobby Woods, Larry Mobley, Ray Hembre, Billy Sartin and Bobby Motte.
Honorary escorts are members of the Esterian Sunday School Class of Harris Baptist Church.

Frances-Anne Fraser Hunter
ABBEVILLE, SC — Frances-Anne Fraser Hunter, 67, of 403 N. Main St., Abbeville, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004. Ms. Hunter was born in Madison County, Alabama to the late John and Bertha Mildred Bell Fraser.
She attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, Wartburg Lutheran Seminary, The Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC, Gordon Conwell Seminary in Massachusetts, and the Regent Collage in Vancouver. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Ms. Hunter taught school in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. She served on the Board of Directors for the Belk Corporation in Charlotte, NC. She also was a member of the Junior Miss, Junior Grace and Junior League in Huntsville, Alabama. Ms. Hunter received her Master of Divinity from Erskine College Seminary in Due West, SC. She served as Hospital Chaplain in Charleston at the Medical University of SC, Roper – St. Francis Hospital, and for St. Peters Episcopal Church.
Surviving Ms. Hunter is her daughter, Brooke Bell Hunter of Talladega, Alabama, a sister, Helen Muir Fraser of Huntsville, Alabama, and a brother, John Fraser, IV of St. Petersburg, FL.
A Memorial Service will be 6:00PM Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Abbeville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 Church St., Abbeville, SC 29620.

Robert Charles Mattison
ABBEVILLE — Robert Charles Mattison, 57, of 1594 Old Douglas Mill Road, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004.
Born in McCormick, he was a son of the late Jack Madison and Johnnie Mae Patterson Madison. He attended South Carolina public schools, was employed with Flexible Technologies and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include four brothers, Jack Madison Jr., John Henry Madison, both of Bridgeport, Conn., Moses Mattison and Joseph Mattison, both of Abbeville; six sisters, Mrs. Earl (Mattie) Cox and Rosetta Harris, both of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Bobby (Hattie) Brown, Mrs. Wille (Catherine) Lee, Mary Madison and Mrs. James (Martha) Jackson, all of Abbeville; Mrs. Dana (Marietta) Madison of Abbeville, Angelia Madison of Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. Fred (Gwen) Simpkins of Greenwood, were all reared in the home.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Church of God Holiness, 706 Secession, Abbeville, Pastor Elder Cater T. Peek. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Johnny Waller. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial is in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are family and friends.
Viewing is 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. today at Richie Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of his sister, Martha Jackson, 209 Ferry St., Abbeville.
