LAURENS — Nancy Cooper O’Shields, 64, of 116 Garlington St., died Monday, June 14, 2004 at her home.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Cleve and Ellen Long Cooper. She retired from LCDSNB of Laurens and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Kelly O’Shields) Crawford of Ware Shoals; three grandchildren; a brother, Mike Cooper of Sumter; six sisters, Phyllis Rogers, Debra Holley, Karla Barbarey, Billie Cooper and Barbara Mattison of Ware Shoals, Becky Nalley of Mississippi.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. today in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop.
Honorary escort is Mike Elledge.
Visitation is after the service in the cemetery family room.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 182 Crawford Road.
Memorials may be made c/o Parker-White Funeral Home, P.O. Box 242, Ware Shoals, SC 29692.

Roger W. Shaw
Roger W. Shaw, 64, of 303 Reynolds Ave., husband of Marcia Shaw, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at his home.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Harley Funeral Home.

Mary L. Wideman
ABBEVILLE — Mary Louise Wideman, 65, of 104 Oakland Ave., Apt. 1602, died Monday, June 14, 2004 at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth Belcher Lomax of Mount Carmel, she attended McCormick County schools and was a member of Rockford A.M.E. Church, Mount Carmel.
Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Wideman of Columbia; three sons, Dorsey A. Wideman Jr. of Edgefield, Grayland Wideman of McCormick and Bernard D. Wideman of Abbeville; three sisters, Delores Peterson of Abbeville, Ruth Bell and Jeanette Kennedy, both of Calhoun Falls; four brothers, William Wallace Lomax, James Marshall Lomax and Willie Thomas Lomax, all of Mount Carmel and Herman Eugene Lomax of Long Island, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Abbeville & White Mortuary.

Rejohn Wright
Rejohn Wright, 82, of 1047 Phoenix St., died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at his home.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of Loutee Burton Wright. He was employed by Laborer’s District Council Construction Industry of Philadelphia for several years. An Army veteran, he received the Apt Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Survivors include a granddaughter.
Services are 4 p.m. Thursday at Parks Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ulysses Parks. Burial is at Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Sidney Mays III, Charles Hill, Derrick Jones and friends of the family.
Flower bearers are Lucy Mason, Tonita Spearman and Pearlina Anderson.
The family is at 143 Hackett Ave.

Woodrow W. Culbertson
Woodrow W. Culbertson, 89, formerly of 105 Andrews, of the Sterling House, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late J.B. and Lyda Henderson Culbertson. He retired from Greenwood Mills Plant 4 and 5, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Woodland Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Frank Culbertson of Lexington N.C.; a daughter, Joyce Daves of Lexington, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Frances Anne Butler of Ridgeway; 15 grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ray Massey. Burial is in Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Flora L. McLaughlin
Services for Flora Louise McLaughlin are 2 p.m. Friday at Lowell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Willie J. Key officiating and the Rev. R. Jeffcoat presiding. Assisting are the Revs. E.L. Cain and Fred Armfield. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are members of American Legion Post 224.
Flower bearers are members of American Legion Post 224 Auxiliary Unit and I.B.P.O.E.W. Elks Temple of South Carolina.
A wake service is 6-7 tonight at Trinity United Methodist Church.
The family is at the home, 214 N. Bethune St.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Paul A. Russell, 70, of 724 Edgehill Road, husband of Christine B. Russell, died Monday, June 14, 2004 at High Smith Rainey Hospital.
He was formerly of Greenwood, S.C.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters, Babetta R. Russell of Fredricksburg, Va., Janine Shingles of Columbus, Ga., and Teresa Scott of Spotsylvania, Va.; a son, Marshall Glenn Allen Jr. of Durham, N.C.; a brother, Bernard Hill of Ashburn, Va.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Evans Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, conducted by the Rev. Brian Thompson.
Visitation is 7-8 p.m. Friday at Wiseman Mortuary.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Thomas E. and Belle Harelson Shaw. He was a retired machinist and served in the Air Force. He was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home and a brother, Thomas M. Shaw of Columbia.
A memorial service is 3 p.m. today at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Dalton.
Visitation is 1-2:30 today at the funeral home.

Amy Mitchell Culbreath
PHILADELPHIA — Amy Mitchell Culbreath, 79, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Keystone Hospice.
Born in Saluda County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lottie Butler Mitchell. A former member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Saluda, she was a member of Saint Luke’s Church and a retired Civil Service worker.
Survivors include a sister, Mellie Cooper of New Castle, N.J., and three brothers, Raymond Mitchell, Walter Mitchell Jr. and Joe Mitchell of Maryland.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Kenner, pastor. Burial is in the church cemetery.

E. Beatrice Patterson
SALUDA — Eula Beatrice Patterson, 70, of Saluda Nursing Center, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at her home.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Mamie Wims Kinard. She was a member of Jacob Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Michael S. Patterson of Greenwood and Stephen D. Patterson of Due West; three brothers, Calvin Kinard Jr. of Greenwood, James Isaiah Kinard and Samuel Kinard of Hodges; five sisters, Alice Lucille Turner, Lillie Mae Fisher and Helen Higgins of Greenwood, Viola Cannon and Iola Crawford of Hodges; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Brown. The body will be placed in the church at 10. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are church officers.
Flower bearers are Missionaries.
The family is at the home of a sister Lillie Mae Fisher, 124 Empire Circle, Greenwood.

Joseph P. Terry Jr.
HOUSTON — Joseph P. Terry Jr., 81, widower of Ruby Thompson Terry, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 in Houston.
He was born in Clinton, S.C.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph P. Terry III and Michael Terry.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Monday at Westside Baptist Church, Greenwood, S.C., conducted by Pastor Hal Lane.

Thelma Chinn White
Thelma Chinn White, 69, of 816 Brewer Ave., wife of Huey White Sr., died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Edgefield, she was a daughter of Annie Lee Peterson Chinn and the late Cleophus Chinn. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother of Greenwood; two sons, Huey White Jr. of Georgia and Lavorsia White of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Barbara Middleton of Greenwood; four brothers, Albert Chinn, Willie Chinn and Alonzo Chinn of Edgefield, Clifford Chinn of Greenwood; three sisters, Annie Marie Coats of Saluda, Ollie Mae Adams and Leola Jones of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

Darwin Franke
Darwin Lewis Franke, 80, of 145 Pin Oak Drive, husband of June Havens Franke, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Coudersport, Pa., he was a son of the late Lewis and Mary Hall Franke. He was a graduate of Coudersport High School and attended the University of West Virginia. A World War II Army Air Corps pilot, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and many air medals. He retired in 1984 after 42 years of service with J.C. Penny Co., where he began as a stock boy and became manager of many company stores. He was a member of Tranquil United Methodist Church and a member and president of the Clark Sunday School Class for many years. A 32nd Degree Mason and a former president of the Frankfort, Ky., Rotary Club, he was a member of Greenwood Rotary Club, the VFW, the American Legion and Star Fort Golf Club Seniors group.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Lewis J. Franke of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; four daughters, Susan J. Prenatt, Melba F. Leach and Cynthia F. Dominick, all of Lexington, Ky., Chaplain Bonnie Franke of Columbia; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at Tranquil United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. James Patterson. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Adam Shaffer, Eugene Hall, Mark Hall, Earle Purkerson, Bill Turner, Dave Goist, Gerald Goldman and Ronnie Beverly.
Honorary escorts are members of the Clark Sunday School Class and teachers, along with Owen Corley.
Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
