Walter Chandler
EDGEFIELD — Walter Chandler, 57, of Marigold Street, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at his home.
A native of Edgefield County, he was a member of Jeter Baptist Church and a 1966 graduate of W.E. Parker High School.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Lesia) Stringer and Melissa Chandler, both of Ohio; two sons, Walter Chandler Jr. and Isaac A. Chandler, both of Ohio; his mother, Alma Adams Chandler of Edgefield; five grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Jeter Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. James E. Thomas.
Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is at his mother’s home, 354 Marigold St. or after 1 p.m. today at G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary.

Walter Daniel Jr.
WARE SHOALS — Walter Leonard Daniel Jr., 81, of 8 New St., widower of Dempsie F. Daniel, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at his home.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Walter Leonard Sr. and Faye Moore Daniel. He was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Perry Minerals Sand Co.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Daniel of Ware Shoals; a daughter, Ann D. Romagnoli of Donalds; a sister, Carolyn D. Godfrey of Ware Shoals; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Services are 4 p.m. today at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Leon Jones. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Brian Bailes, Nick Romagnoli, Pat Golden, Don Golden, Roddy Ashley and Tommy Coleman.
Visitation is 2:30-3:30 today at Parker-White Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.

Betty Dollar Kneece
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. — Betty Dollar Kneece, 61, wife of Grover Kneece, died Friday, June 18, 2004.
Born in Albany, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Collie Mae Darley Dollar and Clarence L. Dollar Sr. She was owner and manager of Rainbow Pool Supply and co-founder and owner of Fayette Pools Inc. and Grand Pools Inc.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Susan Stallings and Michele Petty; four grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Dollar of Albany; six brothers, Bobby Dollar of Pelham, C.L. Dollar Jr., Charles Dollar and Robert Dollar of Albany, Ronnie Dollar of Sasser, Johnnie Dollar of Casa Grande, Ariz.
Services were 2 p.m. Monday at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, conducted by the Revs. Tommy Wooten and Gerald Reed. Burial was in Westminster Memorial Gardens.

Frances K. Ouzts
GREENWOOD – Frances K. Ouzts, 82, of 526 Davis Street, widow of J. Paul Ouzts, died Friday, June 18, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Bessie Davenport Kernells. She attended Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Surviving is a son, Larry Ouzts of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Sarah Ezell of Richmond, VA; and four grandchildren, Brad Ouzts and Kelly Hall, both of Raleigh, Jana Smith of Columbia and Ashley Wright of High Point, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Bennie Ridlehoover officiating.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
It is respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials made to the charity of one’s choice.

John W. Cole
WARE SHOALS — John W. Cole, 84, of 6 Balentine Drive, died Monday, June 21, 2004 at the Augusta Burn Center in Georgia.
Born in Westminster, he was son of the late Irby and Lillie Cole. He was a retired security guard, a Shriner and a member of VFW.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Cole Jr. and Michael Glenn Cole, both of Lincolnton, N.C.; three daughters, June Parker and Carol Brashear of Lincolnton, N.C., and Ella Vickie Merck of Clover; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Services are 3 p.m. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Henderson. Burial with military rites is in Ware Shoals Cemetery.
Visitation is 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Shirley Trupia, 14 W. Summit Drive.
Parker-White Funeral Home is in charge.

James M. Goode
NINETY SIX — Services for James M. “Nug” Goode, of 224 Waller Road, are 3 p.m. Thursday at Old Mount Zion Baptist Church, Epworth, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Duncan, assisted by the Rev. Arthur Lee Williams. The body will be placed in the church at 2. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Flower bearers are church ushers and friends of the family.
Visitation is this evening at the home of a sister Sarah Blocker, 1421 Martin Town Road.
Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc., Greenwood, is in charge.

Joseph Hiller
NINETY SIX — Joseph Hiller, 76, of 67-3 Bolt Circle, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at his home.
Born in Newberry, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Bertha Davis Hiller. He was of the Baptist faith and a former employee of Southern Brick.
Survivors include two daughters, Cassandra Auston and Gloria Oliver, both of Ninety Six; two stepsons, James C. King of Ninety Six and Obie L. Conway of Greenwood; a brother, James Wilson of Cokesbury; a friend of the home, Cynthia McNeil; five grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a daughter Cassandra Auston, 307 Wilson Bridge Road.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, Greenwood.

Edith Lambert
NINETY SIX — Edith Marie Lambert, 65, of 133 Natchez Trace, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Pounding Mill, Va., she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Susie Williams Lambert.
Survivors include her companion of the home, James Floyd; a son, Ronald Wayne Hager Jr. of San Antonio; a daughter, Rita Kay Hager of Texas ; two sisters, Ethel L. Noel of Bluefield, Va., and Virginia Harmon of Winter Springs, Fla.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 4 p.m. Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jackie Blankenship, Jimmy Noel, Chuck Ross, Tommy Reed, Frankie King and William Woodall.
Visitation is 3-4 Thursday at the cemetery.

Cain, Rickey Oliver, Curtis Bowman and Jonathan Greene. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are members of Mount Pisgah Masonic Lodge No. 419.
Flower bearers are members of Mount Pisgah Order of the Eastern Star No. 418 and Women’s Home Aide Society No. 87.

Mattie Lucile Goode
WARE SHOALS – Mattie Lucile Goode, of 16064 Highway 25, Ware Shoals, died Monday in the Self Regional Medical Center, Greenwood. A daughter of the late R. T. Griffin and Rachel Sullivan Griffin, she was a member of the Christian Hope Baptist Church, Ware Shoals and a retired seamstress. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Goode of the home; one son, Melvin Goode of Greenville; two daughters, Gwendolyn Hill and Wanda Goode of Ware Shoals; one brother, Willie Griffin of Dalzell; four sisters, Luevenia Edwards of Honea Path, Brenda Griffin, Margaret Cooley of Greenville, Linda Griffin of Belton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Friday at the Christian Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Sloan and Rev. Eliza Ballentine, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Memorial Garden, Greenwood, SC. The body will be placed in the church 2 p.m., Friday for the first and only public viewing. The family is at the home of Gwendolyn Hill, 41 North Regal Ave., Ware Shoals.

E.L. Hollingsworth
MCCORMICK – Ernest Lynwood Hollingsworth, 86, resident of Liberty Hill Road, widower of Blanche Foreman Hollingsworth died June 23, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born September 17, 1917 in McCormick, he was the son of the late Ernest Lynwood Hollingsworth, Sr. and Mattie Hollingsworth Callison. Mr. Hollingsworth formerly served with the McCormick City Police Department and retired from McCormick County. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
He was twice married, first to the late Martha Connelly Hollingsworth and was predeceased by a son David Hollingsworth and a granddaughter Maria R. Kirkland.
Surviving are two sons, Lynwood Hollingsworth of Greenwood and Charles Hollingsworth of McCormick; two daughters, Ann H. Grimes of Greenwood, and Jean H. Cameron of McCormick with whom he made his home; one step-daughter, Martha June Young of Young Harris, GA, one sister, Estelle Holder of Charlotte, NC; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11am Friday at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. C.B. Love, Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Hollingsworth, Jimmy Robinson, Steven Robinson, David Stout, John Stout, Frank Stout, Chris Robertson and Herbie Wates.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday evening at Bethany Baptist Church Social Hall.
