Almettie Bladon
SALUDA, SC — Almettie Duffie Bladon, 95, of Bladon Rd., died Friday, July 2, 2004 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Ida Salters Duffie, she was the wife of the late Harvey Richard Bladon. Mrs. Bladon was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Claudean B. Cockrell of Saluda, Bobbie B. Parris of Williamston, Rickie B. Forrest of Saluda and Sylvia B. Helms of Fort Myers, FL; one son, James Richard Bladon of Saluda, one brother, Otto Duffie of Saluda, 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Betty Jean Rowe and a son, Jimmy Lee Bladon preceded Mrs. Bladon in death.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, July 5, 2004 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Cockrell officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Sunday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Roscoe J. Breazeale
oscoe J. Breazeale, 87, resident of Greenwood, SC, husband of Rachael Rankin Breazeale, died July 2, 2004 at the Wesley Commons Healthcare Center in Greenwood.
Born in Salem, SC in 1916, he was a son of the late Edward and Doshia Chappell Breazeale.
Mr. Breazeale was a graduate of U.S.C. where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. He was a World War II Chemical Staff Warfare Officer before later retiring as an Air Force Lt. Colonel. In 1950, he began work as a Research Chemist for American Enka of Asheville, NC, then taught Organic Chemistry at Clemson University from 1952 to 1956. He retired as Vice President of Sun (Sequa) Chemical Corp. of Chester, SC where he worked from 1956 to 1983.
Mr. Breazeale was Chairman of the South Carolina Divisions of both The American Cancer Society and The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, and was a member of The American Chemical Society. He was also a member of Rotary, The Poinsett Club, Wildcat Cliffs Country Club and The University Club. He is the author of two books, ‘Directive Effects of Aliphatic Chlorinations’ and ‘The Time of My Life’. He served as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, SC.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Ronald R. Breazeale and his wife Mary Jo of Greenwood, SC; H. Jeffrey Breazeale and his wife Ida of Sunset, SC; and grandchildren, Cliff Ryan Breazeale, Rachael E. Breazeale, Jeff Ridgeway, Megan Ridgeway, and great grandson Caleb Ridgeway.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Breazele was predeceased by his brothers, Vernon and Harold; and sisters, Vera B. Stephens and Helen B. Lanford.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 5, 2004, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown Easley, SC, with the Reverend Dr. George Fitzgerald and Reverend Patrick Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Slabtown Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Doll Pulley Hill
Doll Pulley Hill, 86, of 401 Greene St., died Friday, July 2, 2004 at her home.
Born in Cross Hill, she was a daughter of the late Jeff Pulley and Tilly Pulley. She was a member of the Vaughnville Baptist Church in Chappells.
Survivors include a daughter, Bessie Workman of the home; a grandson, James Workman Jr., reared in the home; a niece, Jessie Grant and a nephew, Joe Goggins, both of Cross Hill and reared in the home; three grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

James Brunson Ouzts
TROY — James Brunson Ouzts, 90, formerly of 1416 Brocker Road, widower of Olunice Lanier Ouzts, died Friday, July 2, 2004 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Saluda, he was a son of the late Josephine Johnson and Milburn Boyd Ouzts. He was a retired farmer and a member and deacon of Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Stewart of Ninety Six; a son, James Robert Ouzts of Saluda; two brothers, Wayne Ouzts of Troy and Roy Ouzts of Saluda; and two grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Barry Butler. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in Mount Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jerry Ouzts, Douglas Ouzts, Lawrence Ouzts, James Rushton, Shannon Adams, Rodney Ouzts, Glen Ouzts and Christian Walden.
Honorary escorts are the Men of Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Visitation is 1-2 today at the church.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Harley Funeral Home is in charge.

George Havard Dean
JOHNSTON — George Havard Dean, 81, of 350 Long Cane Road, widower of Mary Glenn Dean, died Friday, July 2, 2004 at Edgefield Healthcare.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late George and Maybell Spring Dean. He was a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and member of the Mount Alpha Burial Aide Society. He was a retired self-employed painter and a navy veteran.
Survivors include a son, Donell Dean of Saluda; three daughters, Mrs. Keith (Goldie) Holland of Aiken, Sharon Dean of Saluda and Ruth Kyle of Silver Springs, Md.; three sisters, Mattie Dean and Tomasene Wilds, both of Allendale, S.C., and Blossom Bryant of Temple Hills, Md.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Johnston, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Lewis Burt, assisted by the Revs. Eldwin Griffin and Clarence Kenner.
The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are nephews and great nephews.
Flower bearers are Mount Calvary ushers.
The family is at the home.
Burial with military rites is in Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Victor Tyrone Gaines
SALUDA — Victor Tyrone Gaines, 15, of 105 East End Drive, died Friday, July 2, 2004.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Tara Gaines Bletcher and Willie Brunson. He was a 9th grader at Saluda High School.
Survivors include his mother of Saluda; his father of Batesburg; his stepfather, Rudolph Bletcher of Saluda; a brother, Montavis Gaines of Columbia; three sisters, Tiffany Gaines and Yolanda Gaines, both of Saluda, and Brittany Farrow of Johnston; maternal grandmothers, Dorothy Gaines of Saluda and Mildred Simpkins of Newberry; paternal grandmother, Rose Burton of Saluda; and paternal step-grandmother, Johnnie Mae Long of Saluda.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Butler and Sons Funeral Home.

Cedric Fidel ‘Weed’ Long
SALUDA — Cedric Fidel “Weed” Long, 19, of 137 LaSallae St., died Friday, July 2, 2004.
Born in Edgefield, he was a son of Johnnie Mae Bletcher Long and the late Rudolph Long. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Saluda; a daughter, Shaquayla Long of Saluda; three brothers, Rudolph Bletcher of Saluda; Kim Long of Aiken and Jonathan Long of Columbia; a sister, Tara T. Long of Saluda; and paternal grandmother, Jessie Lee Rosser of Saluda.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Butler & Sons Funeral Home.

Paul Gerine Long
SALUDA — Paul Gerine Long, 21, of 805 Denny Highway, died Friday, July 2, 2004.
Born in Greenwood, he was a son of Jesse James and Doris Deloris Yarborough Long. He was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include his parents of Saluda; a brother, Elder Marcus Long of Saluda; two sisters, Jessica A. Long of Saluda and Rudena Harris of Newberry; and paternal grandmother, Jessie Lee Rosser of Saluda.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Butler & Sons Funeral Home.

Ogle H. Thomasson
Ogle Hadden Thomasson, 88, of Morningside, died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. The body is at Harley Funeral Home.
Visitation is 2-3 Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.
The family is at the home of James Purvis, 786 Deadfall Road.

Kenneth Stewart White
FOUNTAIN INN — Kenneth Stewart White, 63, of 113 Triangle Pine Road, died Friday, July 2, 2004 at Greenville Memorial.
Born in Simpsonville, he was a son of the late John Alvin White and the late Helen Stewart White. He was a life time member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, attended the University of South Carolina, worked for Anderson Hardwood Floors in Clinton, was on the first committee for the Fountain Inn Recreation Center and coached little league baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Taylor White; two sons, Kenneth Derek White of Greenwood and Daniel Kerry White of Fountain Inn; a brother, George White of Florence; a sister, Anita White of Simpsonville; and a grandson.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Simpsonville First Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Randy Harling and Michael Bearden. Entombment is in Cannon Memorial Park.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Cannon Funeral Home, 1150 N. Main St., Fountain Inn, S.C. 29644.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, Route One, Fountain Inn, S.C. 29644.

Dennis Dellinger
RANCHO MURIETA, Calif. — Dennis Leon Dellinger, 73, of 6424 Puerto Drive, husband of Linda Dellinger, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004.
Born in Cosby, S.C., he was a son of the late Roy Leon and Elsie Culbreath Dellinger. He was an honor graduate of Thornwell School in Clinton where he excelled in football and was valedictorian of his senior class. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and served in the Air Force where he was a B-25 pilot and obtained the rank of Major. He retired from U.S. Gypsum Co. in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife and children of California and a brother, Roy Dellinger of Greenwood.
Services and burial will be in Rancho Murieta.

Randy Lee Franklin
ULYSSES, Pa. — Randy Lee Franklin, 24, died Friday, July 2, 2004.
Born in Newberry, S.C., he was a graduate of Northern Potter High School and formerly employed with Eagle’s Nest Builders.
Survivors include his mother, Anita Carter of Ulysses; his father, William T. Franklin and stepmother, Kathi of Clinton, S.C.; a son, Iziah Lee Franklin; a brother, Rodney Franklin of Coudersport; a sister, Melissa Franklin of Waterloo, S.C.; a stepsister, Kathi Jo Walston of Clinton, S.C.; and paternal grandparents, Harry and Marie Franklin of Clinton, S.C.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Free Methodist Church, Ulysses, Pa., conducted by the Rev. Brad Miller and assisted by Rev. David Michel.
Memorials may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
