Felix Woodall
NINETY SIX — Felix Callaway “Cal” Woodall, Jr., 61, of 120 Pheasant Road, Ninety Six, husband of Rachel Price Woodall, died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late Felix Callaway Woodall, Sr. and Essie Horne Woodall. He was retired from Greenwood Mills, Adams Plant and a backhoe operator for Carter’s Trucking. He was a member of Friendship Pentecostal Holiness Church and Sandridge Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of the home; three sons, William H. Woodall of Saluda; Kenneth W. Price of Ninety Six; Thomas J. Price of Greenwood; two daughters, Laura Ann Andrews of Greenwood and Tina Carroll Walker of Saluda; a sister, Betty Jean Powell of Greenwood; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Woodall was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline Ann Price.
Services will be 5 p.m. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverend Marty Dorn and Reverend Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers are Chris Addy, Arnold Turner, Roy Swink, A.D. Werts, Elon Maffett and Eddie Goldman. Honorary escorts are Ray Bishop, Thomas Dotson, Terry Dotson, Wayne Price, Willie Lanier, Ben Rushton, Bud McFarland, Warren Reynolds and Anthony Richardson.
The family is at the home of a son, Kenneth Price, 116 Pheasant Road, Ninety Six.
Harley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lorene O. Patterson
PENDLETON — Lorene O. Patterson, 91, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at NHC of Anderson.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Tina) Wilson, 206 Woodridge Court, Anderson.
Services will be announced by The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson.

William R. Rush
AUGUSTA, Ga. — William Ray Rush, 74, died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
He was a native of Shelby, N.C. He retired from the army as a SFC after 20 years and retired from US Shelter as property manager after 20 years. He was a member of VFW Post No. 3200.
Survivors include his wife, Hildegard Werner Rush; a son, Robert George Rush; five sisters, Sara Weathersford, Shelby, N.C., Lois Trammell, Doris Lathren, Margie Adams, all of Greenwood, and Frances Arnold of Callison; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. in Westover Memorial Park with full military honors.
Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors.

Catherine C. Phillips Wilson
Catherine C. Phillips Wilson, 91, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at National Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Chester, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Arthur Carroll and Bessie Mae Clark. She was a retired employee of Joanna Mills, a member of Harris Baptist Church in Greenwood and Holly Grove Baptist Church in Clinton and a former owner and operator of Phillips’ Grocery on Highway 56.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol P. Smith of Greenwood; four sisters, Margie Rushton of Clinton, Vivian Hiller of Gray Court, Frances Sabens of Upatoi, Ga. and Billie Jean Crouch of Waterloo; a brother, Orin Clark of Clinton; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, George C. Phillips and her second husband, Robert Wilson.
Services are 3 p.m. today in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is immediately following the service.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Carol P. Smith, 116 Pinsonville Road, Greenwood.
Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church Building Fund, 122 Fuller St., Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

William ‘Bill’ Adams
BRADLEY – William Ollie “Bill” Adams, 84, of 7303 McCormick Highway, Bradley, SC, widower of Rebecca Bullock Cooper Adams, died on Saturday July, 24, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Born in Edgefield County, he was the son of the late James Pinckey and Alice Powell Adams. He retired from Greenwood Mills, Durst Plant after twenty-five years of service and he was the owner and operator of Adams Saw Mill in Troy. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.
He was twice married, first to the late Christine Adams.
Surviving is a daughter, Jewell Hughes of Greenwood; a son, Shad Adams of the home; a stepdaughter and her husband, Tammy and Chris Reed of Anderson; four stepsons and their wives, Jim and Marilyn Cooper of Bradley, Kerry and Tonya Cooper of Ninety Six, Mark and Lori Cooper of Greenwood, and Chuck and Marcia Scarboro of Ninety Six; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all of Greenwood; twelve step grandchildren, four of the home, Autumn Brown, Alex McKnight, Trent Cooper and Haven Cooper; a sister-in-law, Sandy Hill of Bradley; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memories.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend John Seltzer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
Honorary escort will be Preacher Motte, Wilburn McCoy and Willie Mae Parker.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The family is at the home of Jim and Marilyn Cooper, 7227 McCormick Highway, Bradley.

Grace Chapman Boiter
PRAIRIEVILLE, LA. – Grace Chapman Boiter, 80, formerly of Duncan, SC, died on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the Gonzales Health Care Center in Gonzales, LA.
Born on September 16, 1923 in Duncan, SC, she was a resident of Prairieville, LA for the past 6 years, and the daughter of the late Landrum and Lavada Bragg Chapman.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Duncan, SC.
She is survived by: two daughters: Mary Boiter Morris and her husband Robert of Baton Rouge, LA and Patricia Boiter Henderson and her husband Allen of Waterloo, SC; a son: William Marvin Boiter and his wife Gloria of Orange, TX; a brother: Buy Chapman of Greer, SC; two sisters: Mildred C. Gibson of Lyman, SC and Delores C. Glynn of Duncan, SC; two half brothers: Kenneth and Ernest Fowler of Duncan, SC; two half sisters: Barbara Fowler Burrell of Duncan, SC and Frankie Fowler Pustover of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 50 years, Toy N. Boiter.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Mausoleum in Woodlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Services will begin at 12:00 noon in Memorial Mausoleum and conducted by Rev. Dane Wagoner of Duncan Church of Christ, entombment will follow.

ANDERSON — Jane Sligh Cain, 49, of 1833 Harris Bridge Road, wife of Dennis W. Cain, died Monday, July 26, 2004 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel.
The family is at the home.
Services will be announced by Sullivan-King Mortuary.

Ruth Cooner
GREENWOOD – Ruth Long Cooner, 83, formerly of Pascal Drive, widow of Francis F. Cooner, died July 26, 2004 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood July 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George Henry and Stella Touchstone Long. She was a 1940 graduate of Greenwood High School, a retired Owner and Operator of Paint Supply Company in Aiken and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cooner was predeceased by three sisters, Tillie Byers, Arnette Major and Sadie Meadows.
Surviving are two sisters, Judy L. Mahaffey of Gastonia, NC and Peggy L. Willard of Fort Walton Beach, FL.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30pm Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Dr. Horace Benjamin and Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 2 to 3pm Wednesday afternoon.

James W. Crumpton
DALLAS — Dr. James W. “Brother James” Crumpton, 86, of Dallas, Texas and Natchez, Miss., husband of Jennie Crumpton, died Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Dallas.
Born in Pelzer, S.C., he was a son of the late James Talmadge and Lydie Boyce Crumpton. He received degrees from Furman University, Greenville, S.C., and Baptist Bible Institute, New Orleans and an honorary doctorate degree from Garland Bible College, Garland, Texas . He became pastor of West Side Baptist Church in Natchez in 1941, serving for more than 57 years. He produced the “Radio Revival Hour” for 22 years. Establishing the Maranatha Baptist Mission in 1961, he served as president until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of Dallas; a son, James W. Crumpton Jr. of Emmett, Idaho; four daughters, Eulaila Fletcher of Phenix City, Ala., Jean Fuller of Greenwood, S.C., Jennie Lynn Godwin of Wills Point, Texas and Dottie Lindsey of Dallas; two sisters, Clara Willard of Etta, Miss., and Sue Dallalio of West Monroe, La.; a brother, Walter Marion Crumpton of Mauldin, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maranatha Haven, Natchez. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Natchez.
Visitation is 5-8 tonight at Maranatha Haven.
Memorials may be made to Maranatha Baptist Mission.

Services for Christine Fisher Fortune are 2 p.m. Thursday at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Green. Assisting are the Rev. Ricky Syndab, pastor, the Rev. Ernest Cannon and the Rev. Dr. Willie S. Harrison. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in Evening Star Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are nephews and family friends.
Flower bearers are nieces and family friends.
Honorary escorts are members of Rochelle Chapter No. 298, O.E.S.
Visitation is 7-8 Wednesday at Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lorene O. Patterson
PENDLETON, SC – Mrs. Lorene O. Patterson, age 91, of Pendleton, SC, wife of the late Willie Reed “Bill” Patterson, died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at NHC HealthCare in Anderson, SC.
Born in Pickens County, SC on September 11, 1912, Mrs. Patterson was a daughter of the late Arley E. Owen and Talley White Owen. She was retired from Regal Textile Corporation. She was a member of Pendleton First Baptist Church, the WMU Circle and the Ladies Sunday School class.
Surviving are son, Carl E. Patterson and his wife, Peggy of Greenwood, SC; daughters, Mae Rowland and her husband, Ray of Central, SC and Tina Wilson and her husband Jim of Anderson, SC; brothers, Cecil Owen, Theron Owen, both of Pendleton, SC and Arley E. Owen of Easley, SC; sister, Avanelle Whitfield of Seneca, SC; six grandchildren, Mike Rowland and his wife, Dana, Tim Rowland and his wife, Luanne, Paula Boone and her husband, Robbie, Sherry Patterson, Greg Wilson and his wife, Deborah and Dr. Jeff Wilson and his wife, Karen; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and special friend Jean Cooper.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Dennis and Clifton Owen and two sisters, Lois Patterson and Mildred Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Dr. Courtney Krueger and Mr. Greg Wilson officiating. A private interment will follow in New Silverbrook Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home were the family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2004.
The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Jim Wilson, 206 Woodridge Court, Anderson, SC.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Pendleton, P.O. Box 187, Anderson, SC 29670.
