Marvin L. Kalsbeck

Marvin Kalsbeck, age 73, of Big Stone City died April 16th at the Stevens Memorial Community Hospital in Morris, MN.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Big Stone City.

Visitation will be Sunday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 4 – 7 p.m. and continue on Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be: Gerald Kalsbeck, Roger Kalsbeck, Kevin Konold, Kerry Konold, John Grossman, Rick Grossman, Joe Kill, and Doug Streed.Honorary bearers will be his co-workers at Wilkens Industries of Morris, MN; the Coffee Gang of Chokio, MN; and his grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchild.

Marvin Lane Kalsbeck was born November 21, 1935, in Estelline, SD. He was the son of Gerrit and Katherine (Katze) Kalsbeck. He attended school in Estelline. He was united in marriage on June 7, 1957, with Judith Everson. The union was blessed with two daughters, Lori and Annalisa. Marvin served in the United States Army from 1958- 1960, was honorably discharged and returned to Estelline. Marvin worked as a blacksmith with his father and owned and operated Kalsbeck Manufacturing Company for many years.He later worked as a truck driver for Municipal Castings Inc. in Madison, MN. Marvin was a welder/foreman for 17 years with Wilkens Industries of Morris, MN.

Marvin moved to Big Stone City in 1985. He was united in marriage on November 21, 1986, with Janet (Kruse) Konold in Sparks, NV. Marvin volunteered as a fireman, an ambulance EMT and was a member of the Commercial Club. He enjoyed auto racing and was part of the pit crew for a modified race car team.He treasured time spent with his grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchild. Marvin also enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed horses. He was always working on home improvements, enjoying lawn care and gardening.

Marvin Kalsbeck is survived by his wife, Janet of Big Stone City; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lori and Thomas Caron of Marshall, MN; Annalisa and Shawn Reed of Bruce, SD; three step children: Kevin and Cindy Konold of Clear Lake, SD; Kimberly and Jeff Burg of Wessington Springs, SD; Kerry and Dawn Konold of Mobridge, SD; five grandchildren; nine step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Milo and Arnold; and one sister: Sylvia.

Marlys Radermacher

Marlys Radermacher, age 74 of Milbank died April 14th at Golden Living Center in Milbank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank.

Father Ken Lulf will officiate and burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Rosen, MN.

Visitation will be Friday at Mundwiler Funeral Home beginning at 4 p.m. followed by a scripture and rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the Mass.

Casket bearers will be her sons: Allen, Jeff, Bill, Tim, Greg, and Jim Radermacher.Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and friends: Wanda Koepke, Wanda Schuelke, Linda Schank, Barb Kanthak, Betty Binsfeld, Jean Poor, Joan Krakow, Hillary Folk, Rose Ann Wollschlager, Doris Schwandt, Jan Seefeldt, Susan Lester, and Cindy Hyatt.

Marlys Irene (Engebretson) Radermacher was born April 9, 1935, in Akron Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward and Martha (Struck) Engebretson. She attended school in Ortonville, MN. She was united in marriage with James Leo Radermacher on March 4, 1954, in Milbank, SD.

Marlys farmed with her husband near Franklin, MN from 1957-1979. They moved into Milbank in 1978. Marlys worked as a dietary aid at the Milbank Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sharing coffee with her friends. She was a devoted, loving mother and enjoyed family gatherings, always providing more than enough food for everyone. She was unselfish and always put her family’s needs above hers and never hesitated to sacrifice for her children. She had a strong will to live and had amazing gifts of strength and perseverance. Her children will miss her wonderful baking and will cherish the wonderful memories that their mother created.

Marlys Radermacher is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law: Allen and Linda Radermacher of Franklin, MN; Jeff and Barb Radermacher of Bird Island, MN; Bill and Becki Radermacher of Franklin, MN; Tim and Janice Radermacher of Hector, MN; Greg and Kay Radermacher of Hector, MN; Jim and Malea Radermacher of Renville, MN; seven daughters and sons-in-law: Deb and Clete Frank of Willmar, MN; Karen and Jim Koepke of Milbank, SD; Mary and Steve Winther of Ortonville, MN; Brenda and Randy Schmieg of Big Stone City, SD; Jenny and Scott Pinkert of Big Stone City, SD Pam and Todd Lounsbery of Revillo, SD Kim and Randy Eisenschenk of Milbank, SD; 29 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; one brother: Richard Engebretson of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters: Edna Paffrath of Ramsey, MN and Barbara Baker of Pascoe, WA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Milnor (Bub) Larson of Fairbanks, Alaska; Rose Engebretson of Bird Island, MN; Glenn and Liz Radermacher of Ortonville, MN; Alice Radermacher of Ortonville, MN; Sam and Jeannie Radermacher of St. Louis Park, MN; Neil and Donna Radermacher of Pahrump, NV; Myra Jean Schmieg of Crookston, MN; Phyllis and Joe DeRosier of Brainerd, MN; Adrian Valdes of Mexico City, Mexico; Sharon Radermacher of Mt. Vernon, OH; Katherine and Ron Karges of Rosemount, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, James; an infant daughter, Sherry; four brothers and two sisters.

Kerry Lee Harder

Kerry Harder, age 45 of Milbank died April 2nd at his residence.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Rev. Janine Rew-Werling will officiate.

Kerry Lee Harder was born August 20, 1963, in Milbank, SD. He was the son of Gerald and Helen (Tomek) Harder. He moved with his family to California and attended school. He was united in marriage with Kim Freiburger and they were blessed with two daughters, Keresa and Katelyn. Kerry worked as a carpenter and moved to Denver, CO in 1993. He returned to Milbank in 1994, and has since resided. He had most recently worked at Saputo, Inc. in Big Stone City, SD.

Kerry Harder is survived by two daughters: Keresa Harder of Milbank and Katelyn Harder of Muncy, PA; his mother Helen Harder of Milbank; three brothers: Craig Harder, Dennis Harder, and Kevin Harder, all of Milbank and one sister: Lisa and husband Ed Ruble of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Connie Kay Gonsoir

Connie Kay Gonsoir passed away March 8, 2009 at the University of Minnesota Hospital after an extended illness.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilmot. Father John McMullen will officiate and burial will be in the Wilmot Cemetery at a later date.

Connie was born on July 25, 1963, in Sisseton, South Dakota to Adele & Stan Gonsoir. She grew up and received her education in Webster, South Dakota. She enjoyed her family, gardening, flowers, watching wrestling, football, car racing, driving truck, playing suduko and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her father Stan; brother Robert and grandparents.

Connie is survived by her mother Adele Gonsoir of Groton, SD; her twin brother Randy Gonsoir of Groton, SD, brother Timand wife Kristen Gonsoir of Ferney, SD, brother David and wife Kathy Biel of New York Mills, MN, sisters Lillian and husband Todd Herr of Webster, SD, Blanche and husband Duane Lewandowski of Peever SD, Arlene and husband James Olson of Andover, SD; significant other Burton Gonsor of Browns Valley, MN; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

King Iverson

E.E. “King” Iverson, age 94, a former long time Milbank resident died March 8th at a care center in Aberdeen.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Parkview United Methodist Church in Milbank.

Rev. Beth Conrad and Pastor Chris Salvevold will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 – 7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home and continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be: John Kaloupek, Alex Munderloh, Jared Rand, Chris Salvevold, Charles Munderloh, and Jeff Mertens.

Earling Eugene Iverson (known to family and friends as King) was born October 4, 1914 to Iver Eugene & Martha (Peterson) Iverson.He passed away at Bethesda Nursing Home in Aberdeen on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the age of 94.

King grew up in Waubay, graduating from Waubay High School in 1932.Upon graduation, he immediately started work at Dakota Central Telephone Company, which later became known as Northwestern Bell.

In February, 1935, he was transferred to Miller as a combination man, serving as an installer and a repairman.During that year, he also worked at Oakes, ND, Mitchell, and Pierre before arriving in Milbank in November 1935.King remained in Milbank, until 1941 when he accepted an assignment at Doland as service chief.He was there two years before being named manager at Bryant.

On April 16, 1946, he returned to Milbank as a combination manager.His next assignment was at Aberdeen, where he began work in February 1947 as an exchange engineer, commuting from Milbank.On August 8, 1949, he accepted a position at Wessington Springs as manager, but continued to commute so his family could remain in Milbank.

In January 1950, he was given the title of central office equipment manager in Milbank.He was on the job when the switch was made from operator-type service to dial service and helped with the monumental task of cutting over to the new service in December 1962.He remained with the company for 43 years before retiring.

King chose as his bride, Leitha “Donna” Easterby.They were married on March 16, 1940.After 69 years, she was still the love of his life.In 1954, he surprised her by fulfilling her dream of owning a children’s wear shop.Together, they operated Iverson’s Children’s Wear, which served the community for 25 years.

He was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church and willingly served His Lord and the people of that congregation.King was known and admired throughout the community for his congenial manner and his fun-loving spirit.He led by example.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife:Donna, Aberdeen, SD; his three daughters:Lynna (Leighton) Kaloupek, McPherson, KS; Sally (Pat) Mertens, Aberdeen, SD;Vickie (Steve) Munderloh, Mobile, AL; his six grandchildren:Laurie (Kaloupek) and Jared Rand, Berryton, KS; John and Angie Kaloupek, Lenexa, KS; Jeff and Lori Mertens, Eden Prairie, MN; Kristin (Mertens) and Chris Salvevold, Becker, MN; Alex Munderloh, Mobile, AL; Charles Munderloh, Mobile, AL; and his 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters:Violet Wiehn, Jessie Wator, and Virginia Mikkelson; and one brother, Norman Iverson.

Gladys E. Erne

Gladys Erne, age 92, a former long time Milbank resident died March 3rd at Samaritan Bethany Heights Care Center in Rochester, MN.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Rev. Craig Werling will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to the services.

Gladys Esther (Dornbusch) Erne was born September 4, 1916, in White Rock, SD. She was the daughter of Frank and Nettie (Driessen) Dornbusch. She lived with her parents on a farm north west of Big Stone City, SD. She attended rural school in Lockwood Township, Grant County, SD. She was united in marriage on October 14, 1938, with Mahlen Erne in Strandburg, SD.

Following their marriage, Gladys and Mahlen lived in Bremerton, WA for eight months, during World War II. They returned to Milbank. Gladys was a babysitter for many families in the Milbank area. Mahlen died June 12, 1991. Gladys has resided in Rochester, MN for the past five years. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church.

Gladys Erne is survived by her children: Patricia and husband Neil Anderson of Rochester, MN; Roger and wife Barbara Erne of Circle Pines, MN; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Irene Henderson of Milbank.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Frances Kennison and one brother, Ralph Dornbusch.

Robert W. Dahlberg

Robert Dahlberg, age 87, of Milbank died February 28th at the Milbank Area Hospital - Avera Health.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church. Rev. Mike Doran will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery at Strandburg.

Visitation will be Monday at Mundwiler Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers will be Robert’s grandchildren: Ave Rasmussen, Thaddaeus Dahlberg, Tina Dahlberg, Robert Fonder, Paul Fonder, Stephen Fonder, and Patrick Fonder. The vocalist will be Shirone Spolar.

Robert William Dahlberg was born March 5, 1921, in Georgia Township, Grant County, SD.He was the son of Edwin and Gerda (Peterson) Dahlberg. He grew up on the family farm near Strandburg, SD, graduated from Strandburg High School in 1940, and later completed correspondence courses in electronics. He was united in marriage with Ida Skogsberg on June 2, 1946.

They moved to Milbank in 1959. Bob owned and operated Bob’s Radio and TV until 1984, when he sold the business to David DeBoer. Bob continued to make his home in Milbank. He worked in prison ministry, was active with the Gideon’s, and engaged in many missionary enterprises both personally and through the church. He was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Milbank and a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.

Robert Dahlberg is survived by his wife, Ida of Milbank; one son: Ellwood and wife Eva Dahlberg of Shoreview, MN, and one daughter: Eileen Fonder of Milbank; 7 grandchildren: Ave Rasmussen, Thaddaeus Dahlberg, Tina Dahlberg, Robert Fonder, Paul Fonder, Stephen Fonder, and Patrick Fonder; four great grandchildren and one step great grandchild: Shaunie, Savannah, Carlos, Maewyn, and Flannery. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Jean S. Marttila

Mrs. Jean Marttila, age 81, of Milbank died February 15th at Golden Living Center in Milbank.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Bicknase will officiate and burial will be in the MilbankCemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. and continue on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Music will be provided by Roger Goosen, organist and Tim Mundwiler, vocalist.

Jean Sylvia (Kosel) Marttila was born October 21, 1927, at Mobridge, SD. She was the daughter of Arthur and Selma (Weiss) Kosel. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on December 4, 1927, and confirmed on March 29, 1942. She lived with her family in Mobridge until 1944, then moved to Spearfish, SD. She graduated from Spearfish High School in 1945. Jean was employed as a clerk-typist at Fort Francis E. Warren in Cheyenne, WY.

Jean was united in marriage with Matt W. Marttila on June 11, 1946, at Gillette, WY. They lived in Groton, Redfield, Hecla, and then settled in Milbank. Jean was a typist volunteer at the Grant County Museum and also helped giving tours to the public. She gave loving care to many children in Milbank in their respective homes. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Matt died September 15, 2004.

Jean Marttila is survived byone son: Dale and wife Phyllis Marttila of Milliken, CO and their children: Deni (Rob) Radmacher of Loveland, CO; Mark Marttila of Milliken, CO; Tina (John) Hetley of Milliken, CO and Tammy Marttila of Grand Junction, CO; one daughter: Mary Arbogast of Alexandria, MN and her children: Sara Jean Arbogast of Brookings, SD and Dakota Robertson of Alexandria, MN; 5 great grandchildren: Kasandra, Kalid, Nathan, Dylan and Melissa; one sister:Deolores Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Emanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, the Emanuel Lutheran Church Radio Fund, or the South Savo Cemetery Fund.

Norma Lou Ebert

Mrs. Norma Ebert, age 86, of Milbank died February 5th at her residence.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Parkview United Methodist Church in Milbank. Rev. Beth Conrad will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service.

Honorary bearers will be all her neighbors and friends. Casket bearers will be Shawn Richardt, Corey Richardt, Roger Nelson, Verlan Pierce, Brad Folk and Jon Hoyme. The organist will be Sheila Dailie.

Norma Lou (Milliron) Ebert was born January 17, 1922, in Buffalo, Kansas. She was the daughter of Orville and Ura L. (Landrefth) Milliron. She attended school in Buffalo and attended beautician school in Coffeville, KS. She worked as a hairdresser and later worked for Boeing. She was united in marriage on January 17, 1945, with Marwood Edward Ebert in Milbank, SD.

Norma and Marwood lived in Milbank. They built a cabin on Big Stone Lake in 1958, and enjoyed spending time there and especially enjoyed fishing. Norma was active on a league bowling team for a while. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church in Milbank. Marwood died August 21, 2004.

Norma Ebert is survived by her son, James of Milbank; one son-in-law: Lee Eisenbraun of Lake Crystal, MN; 2 grandchildren: Keri Hoyme and Jonathon Hoyme; one sister: Shirley and husband Francis Campbell of Eureka, Kansas and one brother: Burris Milliron of Parsons, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ura; her husband, Marwood; one daughter, Diane; and one brother, James Milliron.

Frances Caroline Borgheiinck

Frances Caroline (Slater) Borgheiinck, age 83, of 705 S. Third St.,Milbank, S.D., died Friday afternoon, Jan. 30, 2009, at Milbank Area
Hospital - Avera Health.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Caroline will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Milbank. Father Ken Lulf
will be the celebrant.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 5-7
p.m. followed by rosary at 7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be grandchildren: Mike Reiprich, Marshall Lundborg, Jay Rumpca, Tony Borgheiinck, Mark Pibal, and Doug Pibal. Burial will take place in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Milbank.

Music will be provided by Nancy Johnson, organist; the St. Lawrence Funeral Choir; Stacey Borgheiinck, vocalist; and Sue Sykora, vocalist.

She was born Frances Caroline Slater on Dec. 10, 1925, near Hettinger,N.D., a daughter of the late Bernard and Frances (Jacobs) Slater. She
attended country school in Duck Creek Township near Hettinger, N.D., and one year of high school in Hettinger.

On Sept. 25, 1944, Caroline was united in marriage to Martin Clemens Borgheiinck at St. Mary Catholic Church in Beardsley, Minn.

The couple farmed north of Beardsley from 1944-62, then moved to a farm near Ortley, S.D., on Sept. 25, 1962, until the farm was sold and they
semi-retired June 1, 1978, when they moved to Milbank.

Along with her husband as janitor, Caroline was janitress at Central United Methodist Church, Milbank, for 12 1/2 years until June 1995.

She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank.

Caroline loved to garden and experimented with different varieties of shrubs, trees and plants. She also enjoyed sewing, and was an avid collector
of salt and pepper shakers.

Survivors are her husband, Martin; four sons: Victor (Linda), Fargo, N.D..; Ervin of Dickinson, N.D.; Wayne of Watertown, S.D. and Dennis (Athenia), Fairmont, W.Va.; four daughters: Patricia (Thomas) Pibal, Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; Lucille Speidel, Aberdeen, S.D.; Anita Reiprich, Webster, S.D. and Catherine (Loren) Rumpca, Coon Valley, Wis.; 22
grandchildren, one step grandson, 10 great-grandsons, five great-granddaughters, one step great-grandson and two step great-granddaughters; four sisters: Margaret Borgheiinck, Randall, Minn.;
Agnes Paul, Lemmon, S.D.; Lorraine (Mike) Kuntz, Harding, Mont. and Loretta Grossnickle, Portland, Ore.; four brothers: John Slater of California;
Arthur (Billie) Slater, Ft. Worth, Texas; Dr. Donald Slater, Scottsdale, Ariz. and James (Betty) Slater, Bristow, Va.; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Sally Slater, Hettinger, ND; Mary Stallman, Richard Borgheiinck, and Kathleen Borgheiinck, all of Browns Valley, Minn.; Julia Billiet, Osseo, Minn.; Elizabeth and Tony Pelzer, Cold Spring, Minn.; Clara and Eldred Schriefels, St. Cloud, Minn.; Betty Borgheiinck, Lindstrom, Minn.; Catherine Rausch, Long Prairie, Minn. and Clarence Borgheiinck, Winthrop, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Paul and Martin Slater; son-in-law, Luverne Speidel; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law; relatives and friends.

Melvin K. Adolph

Melvin Adolph, age 64 of Revillo died January 23rd at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Revillo.

Rev. Kim Kanitz will officiate and burial will be in the Revillo Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. and continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.

Music will be provided by Carol Street, organist. Honorary bearers will be Malaine Adolph, Tiera Koppman, Keaton Adolph, Samuel Adolph, and Josie Adolph. Casket bearers will be: Jordan Adolph, Tyrel Seidell, Brandon Adolph, Keith Adolph, Kurt Adolph, and Leo Niemann. Military honors will be provided by:

Melvin Keith Adolph was born January 23, 1945, in Watertown, SD. He was the son of Clarence and Jessie (Hanson) Adolph. He attended rural school at Lone Tree Country School and three years at Revillo School. Melvin worked as a farm laborer for many years. He was united in marriage with Rulett Switzenberg on December 20, 1967, in Clear Lake, SD.

Melvin served in the United States Army, enlisting on December 7, 1967, and was honorably discharged in July of 1969. He served 13 months in Vietnam. Melvin returned to South Dakota and farmed in Deuel County from 1969, until 1990. Melvin and Dolly moved into Revillo in November of 1990. He worked at Dakota Tube in Watertown from 1989, until he was disabled in 1997.

Melvin was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Goodwin, SD. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Revillo. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, enjoyed fishing, and always enjoyed visiting with people.

Melvin Adolph is survived by his wife, Rulett “Dolly” Adolph of Revillo; two daughters: Wendy Adolph of Clear Lake, SD;Melody and husband Joe Seidell of Albee, SD; two sons: Kurt and wife Emily Adolph of Stockholm, SD; Keith Adolph of Revillo, SD; 8 grandchildren; two sisters: Jeanette and husband Jurgen Niemann of Clear Lake, SD; Bernice and husband Arthur Harms of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother: Eugene and wife Darlene Adolph of Gary, SD and a sister-in-law: Barbara of Milan, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Jessie; one sister: Delores; and one brother: James.

Maxine F. Halter

Maxine Halter, age 83, of Milbank died January 16th at St. William’s Care Center in Milbank.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Rev. Ken Lulf will officiate and burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday at Mundwiler Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. followed by a scripture and prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Mass.

Honorary bearers will be nephews: Larry Trapp, Garry Trapp, Dick Trapp, Mike Weber, and Kevin Weber. Casket bearers will be nephews: Tim Weber, Mark Weber, Dale Weber, Jim Weber, Keith Weber, and Rev. Dean Trapp.

Music will be provided by Sandy Tucholke, organist, the St. Lawrence Funeral Choir and Rev. Dean Trapp, vocalist.

Maxine F. Halter was born July 25, 1925, in Verdi, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Emil and Theresa E. (Weber) Weber. She attended school for two years in Verdi; attended St. Lawrence Parochial School and graduated from Milbank High School in 1943. She moved to Woodland, CA in September of 1952, and worked in Sacramento, CA from 1952- 1961. She was united in marriage with Henry H. Halter, Jr. on October 21, 1961. They moved to Yuba City, CA in 1968, then moved to Brooks, CA in 1972. Her husband died in 1990. Maxine returned to Milbank in 1992, and has since resided.

During Maxine’s career, she worked in Milbank at the Milbank Creamery and the ASC Office. She worked at McClellan Air Base in Sacramento, CA and also for the state of California in various departments including education and transportation. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank, the Catholic Daughters of America and the ladies Altar Society.

Maxine Halter is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: William and Susan Weber of Milbank; two sisters: Kathleen Trapp of Milbank and Mary Lou and husband Jack Dressler of Seattle, WA ; two sisters-in-law: Avis Weber of Milbank; Margaret Weber of Redding, CA and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers: Robert, Donald, Joseph and Bernard and one sister, Genevieve Gill.
