Randon Lloyd Clown

Naca Zi – Yellow Chief

Funeral services for Randon Clown, age 24, of Eagle Butte will be at 10 AM MT, Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Agency Building in Eagle Butte. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Episcopal Cemetery in Iron Lightning under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will start at 1 PM on Tuesday with services at 7 PM at the Agency Building. Randon passed away Wednesday, December 09, 2009 in Eagle Butte.

Randon Lloyd Clown was born on March 3, 1985 in Sioux Falls, SD to Beverly (Circle Eagle) and Delmar Clown, Sr. Twenty minutes later his identical twin, Brandon Boyd, followed him into this world. When the “Twinie Boys” arrived home they were hard to tell apart but their Dad nicknamed Randon “Cobra” because of his two distinct cowlicks. The whole family instantly fell in love with the “Twinie Boys” and they began to add chaos and laughter to their family.

As lil’ guys Randon and Brandon were all boy. They were always outside throwin’ rocks (it even got to the point where people were scared to walk by the house!), playin’ in the mud, and keep all their cousins chasin’ after them as they’d try to escape from No Heart towards town. Randon attended Headstart-12th grade in Eagle Butte and graduated from C-EB in 2005. In his later school years, him and Brandon became known as Ruff and Buff and he enjoyed spending time with his friends, cruisin’ mains, and hangin’ out with his family.

Randon is a direct lineal descendant of the Crazy Horse and War Eagle Tiospayes and he was very proud that for two years he represented his family on the Great Sioux Victory Ride from the Clown Cemetery in Thunder Butte to the Battle Field at Little Big Horn. He loved the outdoors – in the summer he’d load up for fishing trips to Thunder Butte and in the winter Randon rarely missed a hunting trip to Iron Lightning where he loved walkin’ and laughin’ for hours while looking for the perfect muley buck. Randon also enjoyed spending time on the softball circuit and loved hangin’ out with the corner spot crew during summer league games in Eagle Butte. He could also be found on the dart trail cheering on his sister and cousins in all their matches and throwin’ out pounds after all the hat tricks.

Randon is survived by his children Kayliah, Leighton, and Saajen; parents Delmar, Sr. and Beverly; godparents Peggy and Ted Knife; sisters Dardi, Mary, Sharon, and Jill; brothers Delmar Jr., Brandon, Jarret, Dean D., Robert “Autch”, Lester, and Kirk; grandmas Cecelia Circle Eagle, Doris Hump, Delight Halfred, Della Brings Plenty, and Zouie Lone Eagle; aunties Marilyn, Helene, Joy, Lillian (Sullivan), Beverly, Edwina (Orson), Shirley (Chuck), and Velma (Tater); uncles Bevin Jr. (Inez), Willie (Kristy), Floyd Sr., Royce, and Darren Newbrough; nieces and nephews Bryanna, Lauryn, Payton, Tyree, Braxtyn, Sun, Robert, Noah, and Zarel; cousins Rolynn, Dezi, Conroy, Felicia, Fain, Krystal, Krystan, Katee, McKinzie, Kel’lyn, Kym, Huey (Michelle), Crissy, Gerald, Julie, Craig (Catherine), Sylvan, Ashley, Lisa, Whitney, Lisa B., Lee, Charlene, Blaine Jr., Doug, Donnie, Sheila, Kelly, Kyle, Kacie, P’tan, Floyd Jr., Mandi, Lynette, Delaine, Emily Ann, Doreen, Kracy, Mona, Cody, Efton, and Samantha.

Randon began his journey on December 9, 2009 and greeting him in the Spirit World are his maternal Lala Bevin Circle Eagle; his paternal grandparents Lala Ed and Grandma Amy (Talks) Clown; his Uncles Bobby Joe Circle Eagle and Blaine Clown, Sr; and his godfather Darrel Dean Dupris.

Kaye Marie Reddog Clown

Funeral Service for Kaye Clown, age 36, of Eagle Butte will be Monday, November 7 at 10 AM, MT at the Old Agency Building in Eagle Butte. Burial will be at the Reddog Family Cemetery under the direction of the Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. There will be an all night wake Sunday evening, with services starting at 7 PM, MT at the Old Agency Building. Family and friends will be meeting at the 4 mile junction at 4 PM, MT. Kaye passed away November 30, 2009 at Eagle Butte from injuries received in a car accident.

Kaye Marie Reddog Clown was the 1st born child to Leo & Cecelia (Cook) Reddog as the I.H.S. hospital in Eagle Butte, SD on October 11, 1973. Kaye lived a busy life right from the beginning. She was always sweeping or mopping the floor so her grandfather Leo bought her a miniature broom, dustpan, & mop set. From then, he gave her the nickname “Hazel”. After that, she was known as “Hazel” by all. Just about every grandchild of Leo had a nickname.

Kaye enjoyed being with all her family members. Her cousins have many stories to tell of their experiences they had growing up together, many are funny! They spent a lot of time with their grandparents out in the country. She started her education at CR Headstart Program and finished by graduating at Takini in 1992.

Kay started going to church at a very young age. She and her cousins would attend services with her Grandpas Leo and Joe at the St. Thomas Church at On The Tree. Her Aunt Kathy remembers Grandpa Timothy telling her about Kaye, Taryn, Myrna & Doreen sitting in the front row, swinging their legs because they couldn’t reach the floor yet. Their hair was wild but they had clean faces and hands. Recently she enjoyed attending services with the Lighthouse ministry, studied the Bible and read Joyce Meyers; book. She also supported the prayers for the people by practicing our Lakol Wicohan. Her growing faith in God helped her through many hard times. If she couldn’t help the people by doing good deeds and helping out, she would pray for them. She also loved hearing and singing all the prayer songs.

Kaye met “Geno” during the year 1995 and married him in 1998. They have six children together: Forrest, Colton Jr, Kaelynn, Kristen, Brandi and Taylor. They made a home for their family in Eagle Butte. Their welfare was most important and wanted to make sure they were well taken care of. She loved them very much.

Kaye was always interested in Law Enforcement. She had the opportunity to learn how to dispatch, obtained Dispatch Training in Artesia, NM and proudly announced she was the best dispatcher Cheyenne River ever had. She wanted to become a police officer eventually and had the opportunity to be one for a short while. She said she wanted to learn how to drive a unit like her co-officer, Merle. During that short experience, the other officers said they missed her as a Dispatcher. She wanted to pursue becoming a cop but the time for training would have been six months away from her family. After that, she went back to dispatching and was currently employed in the position. Everyone will be expecting her famous response to everything: “Shut up.----Whatever!”

Kaye loved to keep in touch with all her family and friends through visiting, texting, talking on the phone or e-mail conversations. Many of us are still waiting for either one of them.

Kaye is greatly missed by her husband “Geno”, her children who she’s so proud of, Forrest, “Quadee”, “Cissy”, her father Leon (whose steps she hoped to fill in the Law Enforcement field), her step mom, Jeannie (who she had just gotten close to), her little sister Taryn, her baby brother Boss, step sister & brothers; Kim (Daryl) Three Irons, Sr. and James (Jim) Graywater, Sr. adopted brothers Justin Marrowbone, Floyd Annis, & Cory Annis, her cousins, her nieces, her nephews, her adopted mom, Denise Lightning Fire, her Grandmas and Grandpas, her Aunties and Uncles, and all her friends.

Kaye is a member of two very large tiospayes from CRST, OST and SRST, all of whom were important to her. Please accept apologies for not naming everyone but know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We give heartfelt thanks to God for the life experiences we all had with Kaye Marie. She is loved dearly.

Mitakuye Oyasin.

She was preceded in death by her mother Cecelia (Cook) Reddog, 2 brothers, 1 sister by miscarriage, Maternal Grandparents, Milton Cook, Caroline (Iron Lightning) Fiddler, Paternal Grandparents Leo Red Dog, Ruby (Blue Coat) Red Dog
